Anybody go out to any parties this Halloween? Any good pics? Any great costumes? Let's see 'em.
I had to post this pic of my friend Chris in his homemade Captain Chaos outfit. He took first prize at a local bar costume contest, which was a DVD/VCR combo unit. Not bad. Great costume ;D
-
Very nice costume, he even looks like Captain Chaos!
-
That picture at Scum would just confuse the majority who don't even know who CC is or where he came from.
Long-live Cannon Ball Run!
-
Terror Inc Presents Halloween 2004 WENT AWSOME! Huge Success! Over 100-150 people came through the haunted house, and alot of donations to the Lions Club were made. It was pretty slammin'!
Pics will hopefully fallow. 8)

Either you're a little late, or a whole lot early with that post. Can't you see that we're trying to focus on Christmas now? :P
Funny costume though.

One of the most fun days of the year is coming up - Halloween! Is anyone planning to dress up, whether at work/school or to take their little ones out trick or treating?
My daughter just turned 4 and I'll be able to take her out for her 2nd ever candy adventure. So I figure I'd better dress up too...
-
Well, I have a costume I bust out if a night out is in order...
Here I was going out in '03 to some of the clubs down in Pittsburgh... This is at the beginning of the night:
And here I am by the end of the night:
A rough night for any fun loving Shark... Matt, you ought to appreciate the costume. :)
I ALMOST won a contest that night and that would've landed me a lot of $$$. I was sort of pissed I didn't, and as is typical at clubs, the $ went to a skanky looking chick and a guy who put about zero effort into his costume by slapping together an outfit and putting a Bush mask on and a Saddam Hussein mask on a stuffed shirt he pinned to his pants like it was "servicing" him. It was one of about 10 similar outfits I saw... The girl who got 2nd? She was the ever-creative "cavegirl" with the meathead boyfriend dressed as a cave man! Oh..... the imaginations.
I probably didn't help myself by giving people the middle-fin while I was on stage if they were clapping for other people up there. Was a fun night of drunkenness though, and I had a blast.
This year I've got other stuff going on, so no dressing up is planned, but I can always bust old sharky out when I need him!
-

And here I am by the end of the night:
Classic. :D My cousin dressed up like that once but that was back in the late 80s when he was about 7 and I was about 3.
-
So is Halloween not just a U.S. "holiday"? I guess I figured it probably was, but it sounds like the Canucks are gettin' in on the action too, eh? Anywhere else? Everywhere else?
A rough night for any fun loving Shark... Matt, you ought to appreciate the costume. :)
Indeed I do, Jess. Well done. 8) Love the before and after too...
Can't recall when the hell the last time I dressed up was. I used to pimp my Freddy Krueger costume during most of my college years long ago, but that's about it.
Have fun and post some pix to whoever's dressing up this year!
-
That costume, actually, is from the 80's... I wore the same thing as a kid, and had my best haul in candy ever. The pattern was still around (you can buy it brand new I guess but it's different) so we just modded the old one and worked from there.
I sewed a skullcap inside it, so the top sat on my head... The fin kept hitting people and made a great conversation starter actually... Or drink spiller.
By the end of the night, I actually hadn't drank much at all but I was so hot I was just chilling in the corner of the 80's bar my friends and I wound up at... Was a good night.
On a Star Wars related note, the first bar where I was and they had the contest, there were a good 5 guys in Star Wars armor of various types including an ARC trooper and the toon hadn't even been out yet. That kicked ass. There was a Scout, and some others I recall... Not all together even though, just coincidentals it seemed, which was neat.
Hardest part about that costume was it basically was like a long dress in that it had no fly to take a leak. I had to pull the whole thing up and then go through the motions to pee, which made drinking not something too high on my priorities actually. That plus the fact that it was tough to maneuver in crowds, but I managed.
EDIT:
BTW my buddy's an orthodics guy, he makes prosthetic limbs and such... He also does make-up effects and things as a hobby for a Pittsburgh Television show called "The Its Alive Show" that airs campy crappy horror films on Saturday's. Anyway, he makes elaborate costumes for himself, such as the one he wore the year I had my sharky in those pics.
He was a devil, had fold-out wings on a pully rig system on his back that was covered by his prosthetic torso like, and he had goat-leggigngs that covered cloven-hoof boots/shoes that raised him a good 6 inches off the ground (he's already 6'5"). So with all that, he basicallyw as a behemoth demon with these elaborate wings that would unfold and looked like thin skin membranes on a skeletal frame. Freaky...
He got NO appreciation for his costume when we were out at the clubs but it wasn't complete that night so he could move better, but he did have the whole thing on at a bar out closer to where we live outside the city, and they were giving away either $400, or an old herse (sp). He won, and took the herse... It needs a little work but it's running and driveable. I want to buy it and sorta soop it up for a halloween mobile...
-
I don't think I'm dressing up, except for donning a purple wig. Just to make kids pay attention to my son instead of my head.
This is my son's costume- he put it on as soon as he got home.

My four year-old son wants us to dress-up -- I think it would be fun. He wants my husband to be Darth Vader, the baby to be Yoda and your's truly to be either Leia or Padme. He wanted to be either Luke or Han. I thought it would be cool to get the whole family in on it -- I mean -- I've ONLY been looking forward to this for years!!!!. 8) The thing is he bailed on us and now insists on being a scarecrow (again). ::) Somehow it's just not the same Trick or Treating in your neighborhood all dressed up if it doesn't have anything to do with your kid's costume (at least for my husband) :-\ We're still trying to persuade him -- though I can't wait until the last minute to throw this stuff together!
-
I'm going as Jason Voorhees. Prolly the last year i'll be going Trick 'er Treatin', me being 14 and all. :P
-
I'm not dressing up this year since I have no parties that I have been invited too. I may decide to put on a mask and scary people at my sister house which my six year old niece ask if I let them borrow my decorations which I was planning on anyways since I live in an apartment. So this year I'm passing out candy at my sister house and her family is going T-O-T.
-
I'm going to wear a Hogwarts shirt like GNT AKA God.
-
Every year, I always have an idea in my head of a killer costume (Maul, Doom, etc), but it always costs too much money and I lack initiative so I just go as my hobo self.
-
Always do. I'm doing a haunted house for the Lions Club chapter here in town. It should be a fun time, as it is each year.
Kevin
-
I have a mask of George W. Bush and a flashy (literally) suit I got at a thrift store, so now I just need a party where I can dance around like an idiot.
-
Heres my son. My wife is pissed at me for even introducing him to the whole SW Universe. She says if our daughter gets involved with any of this she is seeking help. I have to admit Tyler is more hooked than me. And its great ;D

I will be dressing up as a dad carrying a 19-lb. 8-month old in a Snugli. :P
Our two-year old (well, 4 days short of two on the 31st) will be a Tiger (parents choice, not hers). If it was her choice, it'd be as a nudist. ;)
-
Its official -- according to the 4-year-old. He's the Scarecrow, the 1 year-old is Dorothy, I'm the Wicked Witch and the hubby is the TinMan. Gotta figure out how to throw together a Tinman costume now......................... :-\

Now I have a complex so I had to go ask him. He said I could be the good witch, its just that we already have a hat and a cape. Can't argue with the logic of a 4-year-old. ??? Here I was worried it was a deep-seeded manifestation of repressed anger towards me and he was just being pratical ::)

Best costume, hands down. That guy would've been a highlight of C3 if he'd been in that out there.
-
Oddly enough, with all of my great costumes....I don't think I'll be dressing up this year. There is a party or two that I'm invited to this weekend, but nothing I'm excited about and Monday night is just not a party night for me.
I plan to stay home and pass out candy. If I wear a costume, it's not going to be one of the "good ones".
-
Nope. I'm a nerd. I'll stay home pass out candy until 9:00pm or 9:30pm, make a couple of toy runs and then be at a Wally at 12am to buy the DVD!
-
Since ROTS and Battlefront II are being released at midnight Monday, this will be my costume for the evening.
Or I might wear this version of it.
This flight suit has a blue stripe down each side and is worn with a flak vest. Sort of like Baron Fel but in my own favorite color combo. Black and blue. My bro "Kahuna" is the TIE Pilot on the other side of the X-Wing wearing the red stripes of Baron Fel's 181st Squadron. The one standing right next to me is my bro "Caretaker" and between him and Lord Vader is a pilot called "Fayzer".

I think I saw you at C3 and got your picture while I was back and forth between the show and the FFURG.com booth.

I'm having the same problem again this year. Lots of costumes, no desire to wear them to parties with a hundred friends who've seen me as a Stormtrooper or other assorted Star Wars characters a ton of times.
I wanted to go as a Lemming from the video game, but I needed my wife to sew me the outfit and she's too busy this week.
-
My costume in previous years was nothing special: DISGRUNTLED LONGHORN FAN. Trust me, that was a mean, scary outfit...just ask the neighborhood kids. That was a year-round costume tho.
But in the past three years, I have had to play the HAPPY LONGHORN FAN.
Perhaps, I will be DISGRUNTLED DALLAS COWBOYS FAN this year. ;D
-
It's too bad I'm too short for a stormtrooper, I'd rock the armor every year. Halloween and Christmas. Maybe Thanksgiving, too.

Our 5 year old got to wear his Luke Skywalker costume to preschool to today. I love getting to make costumes........
The tape on his feet was a last minute addition -- the ace bandages kept unravelling -- despite numerous safety pins.
-
Hey, nice job. 8)
I'm definitely getting dressed up. Last year I went trick-or-treating with my daughter and it was a lot of fun, but I didn't have a costume. That will change this year.
But I'm not nearly co-ordinated enough to make something on my own. So I had to order one, it's supposed to arrive in the mail tomorrow.
Anyone else!?
-
Your supposed to tell us what your costume is, Jesse!
Kevin
-
Well, I've got one of these that I bought last year on clearance:
Basically it's a generic equivalent to Neo from The Matrix--only it's fake leather instead of cloth, so it's actually even cooler. (There's a chick version out too).
Although it remains to be seen whether I'll be invited to anything where I can wear it. A former coworker invited me to her and her BF's Halloween party months ago, but one of her other friends is throwing a party so they're going to that instead. :'( The college is throwing some "Halloween Dance" but that doesn't count as I'm sure it will be lame-o. ::)
-
I'm dressing up as a computer geek. 8)
-
I'm not dressing up but my almost 2 year old is going as Darth Vader. His 1.5 year old cousin will be Leia. I am looking forward to that.

Please post pictures -- I bet they will be so cute.

We dressed him up since we are going to "Boo at the Zoo" tomorrow. I guess kids dress up and go to the zoo. The "helmet" does not fit him at all and he keeps taking it off. There were some decent shots, but hopefully between tomorrow and Halloween night I'll get some better ones and post them. The costume actually fit except the helmet :)
-
Happy Halloween everyone! 8)

I'm dressing up as a punk teenager who eggs and teepees houses. :o :-*

We had a good time trick or treating in our SW get-ups. The neighbors got a big kick out of it too -- the dads as much as the kids :)

Tonight, I ended up putting on one of my Green Lantern T-shirts and rings so we had a nice little mini-JLA thing happening... (though my wife said "no way" to the WW costume :P).
And, for some 'lil Star Wars costumes, the nieces and nephew stopped by to show off their home-made costumes:

I did the house up as an insane asylum with me being the caretaker (no comments here, please ;) ) and had a blast. We had about 60-70 kids come by. About 90% of the kids loved it, but I had to have my wife pass out some candy when the other 10% hit the driveway and began to whimper.
Here's a pic and I put up a page at my site with all the rest.

Yeah, my hubby tries to get me to wear the WW costume, but I always X-nay it too, well, at least in public. :-X

Someone did a great job on those costumes! :) I was so impressed -- I showed them to my 5 year old this am (the one who also went as Luke). The first thing he said was "He has the wrong lightsaber on" ;). BTW Jeff -- the boys are looking are getting so big!
-
My wife was a Crime Scene Investigator complete with CSI shirt, hat, and crime scene kit. Me? I was a chalk outline of a dead guy. I even had two bullet holes in the head and a "Crime Scene" yellow tape sash.
-
My wife and make a big deal out of Halloween for the neighbor hood. Since our house has walkways on either side, we have the kids walk into the back yard to get candy, it's all dressed up with a grave yard, body parts, skeletons, strobe light tunnel and spider web tunnel. It's a big hit.
I usually go as a skeletal warrior complete with MR Light-saber. I usually scare the dickens out of people when they walk past without seeing me. There's just something about the sound and visual of an igniting saber in the dark that gets most people. ;D
-
I ended up decorating my sister house and was a demonetor looking thing for the first part of it. The mask got too hot so I took it off. Ended up go TOTing with my Nieces around their neighborhood.

Sorry for the late post. :-[

We all know you all are going to be something star wars related for Halloween but what are your kids going to be for Halloween? Post some pictures.
-
My little one is going to be an elephant... his first Halloween. It should be fun, though he's too young to trick-or-treat.
We all should post pics of our kids in their costumes...
-
Are you going to take him around trick or treating anyway? Its a great way to meet all the neighbors and get free candy to split with your wife.

me and the little girl are going as curious george and the man with the yellow hat. it should be pretty funny.

The older one has been a terror lately, so he hasn't been given his costume yet. If he ever behaves himself long enough to get it, he's going to be a fireman. I'll post a picture of him in the next few days...
-

I don't know, I think this year we're going to my sister's house. She's got two daughters that are 7 and 4, and I think we'll probably tag along with them. Next year we'll definitely hit my subdivision though.
Cute kids BTW, Brent and I Am Sith.

The six year old is going as Cpt. Jack Sparrow. The four year old is a fairy princess.
Last weekend my wife and I went to a halloween party as Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.

Actually this is me at work (party supply store).
I've no kids to go trick-or-treating with, and even if I got invited to a Halloween party I probably wouldn't go because it's a weeknight and can't afford to get any farther behind on schoolwork.

Our three year old daughter is going as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
And if I can figure out how to make this #$%@%! flak vest and my husband can finish the chest box, then my six year old will be going as Luke Skywalker/X-Wing Pilot.
-
At the 11th hour, we were able to finish Justin's costume -- we had a lot of fun making it -- and he was really excited about it:

I never had costumes this cool when I was six. :)

Tracy... Is Justin's X-Wing Squadron call # "Domino 10"? ;D
Fantastic job on a great costume... I bet he loves you for it.
When my daughter was young, and Tiny Toons was in first run, I made her a Babs Bunny outfit, and she went crazy with/for it.
Great Job, Tracy.

No, it's called "Husband spent all day modifying old Pit Crew helmet and didn't make it to hardware store" ;)
Great Job, Tracy.
Thanks. :)

The older one has been a terror lately, so he hasn't been given his costume yet. If he ever behaves himself long enough to get it, he's going to be a fireman. I'll post a picture of him in the next few days...
Thankfully he behaved himself long enough to get his costume. Here they both are before trick or treating:

Chewie,
Love the costumes!
Tracy,
Great job on the costume! Can't wait to see next year's!

Our three year old daughter is going as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.
My 4 year old went as Dorothy too. My 7 year old went as Glenda and my Wife was Wickeds' witch of the west. Since my wife got me a Doctor who scarf, I went as the 4th doctor, but most people thought I was the wizard.
I have pictures, just haven't got them uploaded yet.

Man they look adorable. I can't wait until my little one is old enough to trick-or-treat. :)

Wow Tracy...great job on the X-wing pilot costume!
Nice shot of the two little ones I.A.S. if you had given me a head's up, I might have been able to procure an actual fireman's helmet from my company back in NY. Although he'd be more than a little top heavy! :D

That would have been freaking awesome! He absolutely loves everything to do with being a fireman. I think he's up to his 4th fire engine and is asking for more stuff for Christmas... He'd absolutely freak if he opened up an actual helmet for Christmas... PM sent!

Awwww Anthony -- your girls look adorable -- great Glenda crown! Here's our little Dorothy with her "real tinman". She never referred to him as daddy all night -- only as the Tinman.

Great costumes Tracy! Love your life size Yoda Matt. Can he do lightsaber tricks?

On the Friday before Halloween our sitter requested that we have our kids wear something other than their costume simply because those things can get hot. She is also a part time photographer and she wanted to get pics. So below is the outfit that my daughter and I picked out. The bottom pics are her ladybug outfit. By this point, I think we had taken the wings off. Somebody tell me she isn't a daddy's girl. ;D

My daughter was going to go as the sarlacc, but I was afraid people might misinterpret the costume...
