Modern Classifieds / WTB: TVC C-3PO & Starkiller
« on: August 2, 2014, 03:32 PM »
Looking to get two of my most-wanted figures from this line, so trying my options! Looking for the TVC #6 C-3PO (w/ removable panels and limbs) and the TVC #100 Starkiller. Loose or carded, it doesn't really matter to me. Feel free to make offers!

Collector's Tips / Don't Ever Use Gorilla Glue!
« on: August 7, 2010, 02:42 PM »
I thought I would put this here as a sort of warning to my fellow collectors ever in need of glue...

Every year at least a few times I dust off my entire collection (which is on a shelf), which usually involves a couple of unfortunate figures falling off the shelves and breaking parts. Well, that's what happened this time. ::) *sigh*

My ROTS Kit Fisto fell, which caused the little peg on his lightsaber (damn those things!) to snap. Out of Krazy Glue, which is what I normally use, I turned to the small bottle of Gorilla Glue we had. Hey, it's supposed to be "the toughest stuff on Earth," right?

I apply a small dab of glue, and, 5 minutes later, the lightsaber blade is not attached to the hilt. The wet glue dried into a foamy-looking substance, which stands out a lot against the dark gray plastic. So, in other words, the glue sucks. Using this glue on plastic is like using school glue. The blade didn't even stick even a little onto the hilt. Lesson of the story: Don't. EVER. Use. Gorilla Glue!

Collector's Tips / Hanging Carded Figures on Walls
« on: July 30, 2010, 04:05 PM »
I've tried looking for the answer to this and I've looked through countless pictures of peoples' collections, but how do you hang up a carded figure on a wall? It's a very silly and basic question. But I've used thumbtacks before, and I'm tired of poking holes into my wall, and also, over time, I've noticed that it causes the J-hook to get worn from long hang-time!

Watto's Junk Yard / Musicians!

I thought I'd start this thread, mostly because I want to show off my love for one very special musician...

Jocasta's Reading Room / The End of 'Legacy'
« on: June 29, 2010, 03:03 AM »
In case anyone stumbles upon this, 'Legacy', like KOTOR, ends with Issue #50. As of this posting (6.28.10), Issue #49 comes out in 2 days, and, from the previews, somethings tells me the 'Star Wars' galaxy is going to end up in a hell of a rough spot after #50 - (SPOILERS) so far, less than 20% of the Mon Calamari species exists, thanks to the Sith, and a Sith scientist is creating a virus that can easily wipe out entire planets! :o

I, personally, am very saddened by the death of the series. It's being ended to make way for DH's 25th Anniversary projects, which actually upsets me somewhat, because 'Legacy' was so great - I remember when 'Legacy' and KOTOR both debuted in 2006, and I found 'Legacy' WAAAY more appealing, in terms of artwork, character selection, and storyline.

Any thoughts on the end of the series?

The Legacy Collection / Empty Target Pegs
« on: June 10, 2010, 07:45 PM »
Ok, I'm not sure if this is widespread, but it certainly had me wondering, and then Yakface brought the subject up on their homepage...

No new Star Wars product at Target?!

For the past month, I've noticed that my local Targets (3 of them) have had the same exact figures on the pegs. Week after week I would drop by, and shelves were not restocked. Which means that, week by week, there is less and less Star Wars presence.

Is this a cut-back in anticipation for the launch of TVC?? Is Target deliberately not ordering new cases of figures so that they don't have any leftovers by the time TVC is out? But that doesn't make sense either, becuase it's June, and they new line isn't set to launch till late July/early August.

If anyone's seen anything different or have had similar occurences, please post them!

The Vintage Collection / Your #1 Action Figure
« on: May 10, 2010, 10:52 PM »
Pretty much a simple question - which is your favorite action figure, that you own (in terms of favorite, articulation... etc.)? Feel free to write down 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places.

For me:
1. Lumiya (2010 CP) - really cool sculpt and design.
2. Plo Koon (2010 LC) - hey, I love this guy!
3. General Grievous (2009 TLC) - pretty impressive figure in terms of articulation and detail.
4. Darth Vader (2008 TLC) - nice removable helmet. ;)

The Vintage Collection / 2011 "Vintage" Collection Wave 5
« on: March 21, 2010, 02:39 AM »
Hasbro recently leaked in a 3/17/10 Q/A what might be in an upcoming 2011 TPM wave...

ECHO BASE FORUMS: The upcoming Aurra Sing in the Clone Wars line looks amazing! When can collectors expect to see a brand new Aurra Sing figure in the realistic format?

HASBRO: If the schedule holds, there will be a new basic carded Aurra Sing in 2011.

Being that TVC is expected to run for two years, it's likely that Aurra Sing will be part of the TVC!  :D

Collector's Tips / Warped Action Figure Hands
« on: December 14, 2009, 10:50 PM »
I thought I would post this thread for all those who have trouble getting their figures to hold their lightsabers/blasters/Cantina bar glasses properly.

I have many figures whose hands are either too soft or too warped too hold the lightsabers well. TAC Maris Brood, 2008 TCW Asajj Ventress and 2008 The Sith Legacy Evolutions Darth Maul all come to mind. What would you guys do to fix this? Rubber bands don't work anymore for me.  >:(

Hi there.  :D

I was wondering how to make links to other websites from posts - for example, if I was writing a post and I wanted to make a link to, I dunno, say Galactichunter.com, so that people could click on it and be navigated to the website.

Also, I wanted to know (since I'm having a hard time) how to delete old posts or topics that I wrote.

Thanks!  :)

Ya know Celeste Morne - the one in KOTOR comics alongside Zayne Carrick who gets controlled by the Muur Talisman in Vector, the female Jedi with the long shiny black ponytail, pale skin, and yellow lightsaber - right (anyone out there)? Shouldn't she have died in Rebellion, on that moon where she confronts Luke Skywalker and Leia? OKay, here's where you need to keep up.......

So in KOTOR, she is possessed by that Muur Talisman amulet, and is placed in a status casket. Fast-forward four centuries later, when's she found by Vader, ALIVE (why the h*ll is she still alive, anyway?). She duels him, defeats him, and remains stranded on said moon. Fast-forward another 20 years, when she eventually meets Luke. During this duel, the amulet springs off her neck - PAUSE! - how come she doesn't die here? She's been sustained for nearly 4,000 years, give or take a few more. At this point, shouldn't she have died, since all that power/magic that the Talisman provided her left her? She's eventually killed by Cade Skwalker in Legacy, and she turns to dust, since she's been alive so many years. It's confusing, but shouldn't she have died instantly as soon as the Talisman sprang off her neck?

This question is mostly for those who kept up with the Vector comic arc, since they will know what I'm talking about. Anyone that can challenge my ideas regarding this Jedi Knight?

A question to Sith/Ventress fans out there - everyone's favorite evil, lightsaber-wielding damsel appeared in The Clone wars, but in the Obsession comics she's "mortally" wounded by Anakin, and eventually disappears into the unknown. Prior to this, Anakin showed just how much he hated her in a duel on Coruscant, as he wrapped her in electrical wires and sent her falling hundreds of feet (quite frankly, I don't even know how she survived that), but not before getting his facial scar by her (the one seen in ROTS). That's when Dooku rescues her, and she appears in the Obsession comics. Why is she in The Clone Wars, which seemingly takes place after her near-fatal duel on Coruscant? Anakin already has his scar, and Asajj mentions in a deleted scene from the movie that she's been looking forward to fighting him again. Anyone know the REAL answer?  ??? Don't really know how the The Clone Wars crew will be able to resolve this issue in terms of canon ... is she a Star Wars version of Frankenstein? Did that "anger/hatred powering the will to live/survive" (like what Anakin did on Mustafar) thing work in this case?

The Prequel Trilogy / How does Padme REALLY die?
« on: August 31, 2009, 09:41 PM »
A pretty good question here - how exactly does the Senator of Naboo die? In ROTS Anakin force chokes her ... we know that - but it didn't kill her! The droids that assist her (in that somewhat fake childbirth scene, I'm sorry, but we all know our moms probably went through more than that  :() tell Obi-Wan that she lost the will to live. She most likely didn't die 100% because of that, you're body can't just shut down like that because one day you don't feel like living. I heard that some novels mentioned that Anakin broke a bone in her neck, not her actual neck. So what's the reason behind this honorable senator's death? Anyone think they can elaborate on this?

The Original Trilogy / Princess Leia's Ep. IV Accent
« on: August 31, 2009, 09:28 PM »
A question to all fans out there - why does Princess Leia have an almost British-like accent in Ep. IV, which eventually disappears in Episodes V and VI? I have been wondering for a LOOONG time, but I just forgot about it one day day. Then I recently read an article in which someone else also points this out, and now I want a final answer. Anyone care to share any information?  ???

Conventions / San Francisco WONDERCON!
« on: August 12, 2009, 01:19 PM »
San Francisco, all the way in California, is pretty far from Toy Fair, but not that far from San Diego Comic-Con. But here, once a year, Wonder-Con draws the attention of endless lines of Star Wars fans! I went twice already, and there I met everyone's favorite Wookie-at-heart, Peter Mayhew. I also saw the man (whose name I forgot  :-[) who officially poses as Darth Vader when it comes to marketing Star Wars. It's a great convention: Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamil once did signings there, there's a great little cafe, and endless rows of booths were you can purchase Star Wars memorabilia! Has anyone been there yet?  ???
