I just got back from the first showing and am still trying to process it all.  It was an amazing film and a worthy sequel, IMHO.  Like another member said, it felt different from the other Star Wars films, which I am GI e with.  I did not want to see it be a straight up rehash of ESB - and while there were many parallels - it was not the same film in different clothing.

So what did I like? The space battles, the bombers and A-Wings in terms of the ships.  I enjoyed the Finn/Rose paring, Poe squaring off with Holdo, the Rey/Kylo interactions, Rey/Luke interactions, and the fact that Luke was a grouchy old mess.  Yoda’s ghost was the biggest surprise for me...  Yeah he was goofy, but he was in ESB as well and the TLJ Yoda felt more like the OT version than what we say in the Prequels...  Luke’s spiritual fight at the end was great.

That said, what did I not like?  I felt the Canto Bight scene was not entirely necessary.  The visuals were neat, just it seemed out of place.  The Porgs and those peasant reptiles on Ach-To were forced as well.  Glad Chewbacca cooked up a Porg, though!  I was also really surprised they killed off Snoke so soon...  For such a mysterious and powerful being, he met his end too quickly.  Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious was a FAR better character.  I also wasn’t too thrilled with how Leia got blow out into space, but somehow survived for however long and then used the Force to spirit herself back onto the ship...  Just seemed a bit too much to me and she should have died right then and there!  And Admiral Ackbar died!!  I also wasn’t too thrilled with Benicio del Toro’s character, it felt under used, but I could see him showing up in the next film in some fashion...

But all that said, I did enjoy the movie and want to see it again.

I got the Revell A-Wing and TIE Silencer a few days ago.  The A-Wing is fantastic and with some simple weathering and detailing can be made to look really good!  Here are some pics of the unmodified TIE Silencer kit:

I decided to pick up a Force Link device as, if anything, I wanted to see my TIE Silencer ship light up.  It took a few minutes to get used to how it works, but the device is rather fun!  You have to hold it close to the figure and it will first make a beeping sound followed by the figure's dialogue or a ship's sound effects.  All the action figures seem to have 1-2 lines of dialogue and one can make somewhat funny conversations between the figures.  The Force Link Device can work through the package on a figure, so one doesn't need to open a figure to hear its dialogue.  I think I prefer my lights and sounds on a ship to be independent from a remote system, though it is rather neat for the figures and adds a unique element to them.

I picked up the Rebels Season 3 on DVD a couple days ago and am just about finished with the season (it's amazing how short these episodes really are w/o 10 minutes of commercial interruptions!) To date, I had hardly watched Season 3 on account of a busier weekend schedule plus the fact I really can't stand the Disney Channel.  Overall, Season 3 strikes me as one of the best seasons of Rebels yet.  I enjoyed the Rogue One and ANH tie-ins and Admiral Thrawn was awesome.  The Obiwan/Darth Maul showdown was perfect.  In some ways having Ezra track Kenobi down seemed a little shoe-horned into the wider Rebels story, but it was good to see a classic character and I loved the way they ended that particular episode with Kenobi watching over Luke...  Now to await Season 4!

I picked up the new A-Wing this morning and just opened it.  Overall, I really like it!  The design is very much McQuarrie-inspired and looks almost exactly like his concept art for the A-Wing (so this may wind up being used as an R-22 Spearhead instead ).  Lengthwise, the ship is actually slightly longer than the vintage A-Wing tooling, although the new ship is much more slender top to bottom.  I suspect it is under-scaled compared to the "actual" ship in the films, but it still looks with figures standing next to it.  Canopy opens to reveal a reasonably-detailed cockpit, the nose landing gear is retractable, and the missile launching feature easily hidden as the guns.  The Tallie figure has a nice sculpt to it, but I am not a fan of the 5-POA figure style and non-removable helmets.  I also purchased the Paige figure this morning, which looks quite nice with removable helmet and oxygen mask, and am thinking about using that in the A-Wing instead of Tallie.  The TLJ A-Wing is superior to the Rebels one we got last year, but still falls short of the classic vintage tooling - nevertheless I am happy with it   

Picked up Rey's Speeder Friday morning at Target and opened it that evening.  This is a fantastic vehicle!  Lots of opening and removable panels on the speeder to expose the engine details.  The fit pedals and control sticks move, the flaps by the exhaust nacelles are adjustable.  Lots of small details and weathering too.  The real cargo net is a nice touch and the junk piece secures nicely to the side of the vehicle with some pegs.  A little better painting on the junk would have made the parts stand out more, but it's still ok.  The Rey figure is nice as well, but unfortunately the headgear is not completely removable...  But as I have the other 6" Rey figures w/o headgear, it is no big deal.  Thanks to the figure's articulation, it can be made to sit realistically on the vehicle.  While this was a relatively minor vehicle in TFA, this speeder is a beautiful display piece and definitely worth getting!

I actually had a rather good experience this morning...  After doing the midnight toy-run thing at Toys R Us for the TFA toy releases two years ago (and winding up being rather disappointed) I instead opted to hit a Target store right when they opened this morning (Friday) and was able to score everything I had wanted and then some. 

I was one of about 8 people awaiting the doors to open at Target this morning...  A big teenage kid got his monthly exercise running to the toy aisle to grab just about every 6" Black Series figure he could, but I was able to get the A-Wing, TIE Silencer, Ski-Speeder, the 3.75" Luke, plus a few other 3.75" figures that looked pretty neat.  Then I went to the other display at the rear of the store and scored some more of the 6" Black Series figures that the teenage kid didn't get, including TFA Luke (who looks like he could substitute for a Moses action figure ) as well as the 6" scale vehicles including Rey's tractor and Luke's land speeder.

I am not a completist collector by any means, so it doesn't matter if I need to get an entire wave or something, and just have specific items that I target for my collection.  I'm just happy I was able to get everything I wanted in one swoop, though I'm not sure my credit card was

Here's a YouTube video of someone that has the TLJ A-Wing...  While not as intricate as the old tooling, it looks FAR better than the Rebels A-Wing from last year, and even many of the  TFA vehicles...  Then again, I've long been a fan of the A-Wing going back to the old X-Wing games in the 1990s, so I have some bias
