Wow, the Hilde print sold out only minutes into the show, they barely had enough time to talk about it.

The signed comics all sold out shortly after the Hilde print.  That was good to see, seemed like a very popular show, usually they have a bunch of crappy stuff you can find at any store.  A little better selection this time around.

1AM show tonight, some items are already up on www.qvc.com search for star wars.

I grabbed the Hildebrandt signed print.  edition size of 1977 prints.

Also snagged the SW #0 comic from Dark Horse, one of the few Dark Horse titles I actually needed, and now I get it signed ($15 wasn't too too bad, I guess).

As corny as this sounds...my favorite part of ANY SW film is the first second when the words "Star Wars" appear and the first note of the main theme is played.  I still get a chill EVERY time I watch it.

I think that Anakin does bring about balance to the force.  He starts out as a Jedi, Becomes Vader and ultimately destroy's the Emperor who was bringing the force out of balance.

I think Luke was the catalyst that made it happen though.

Yes, that is it!  It's simple, I don't know why some people have a hard time understanding this.

Heh, it's kind of the whole point of the film-redemption.  I mean some DIE-HARD fans don't even get this....sheesh.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS Screening
« on: May 19, 2005, 12:48 PM »
Seeemd like lost of scenes missing:

Shaak Ti getting beheaded
Yoda on Dagobah
no Boba Fett (were some rumors he hada bit part as a youngster)
The Anakin/Obi in the fuel cell swimming -seemed to be replaced by the elevater shaft sequence
No Bai Ling
No Mon Mothma
No scene (and right from the trailer) with the TIEs escorting the shuttle

weird, DVD might prove to be interesting

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS Picture Thread

Is that Palpatine pic on Coruscant right before "mechanical" Vader's birth?

I believe so.  During the Rick McCallum Spectacular, they showed a shot of a shuttle heading toward a building on Coruscant in the rain and I'm guessing that Palpatine shot is shortly after that.

Yep, he's parading in walking with some troopers, and behind a medical floating board that is carrying Anakins body, Anakin is kind of breathing and writhing around slightly.

It kind of mirrors Padmes death scene where she to is paraded on a floating platform (maybe casket)

You are most certainly welcome, it was lots of fun seeing it with only about 20-25 others.  (some spoilers ahead)

Wow, what can I say, just a spectacular movie.  It actually seems to just get better as the movie rolls along (like a rolling locomotive).  My dislikes are few, and VERY nitpicky I guess.  There was a little humor with the droids that was almost overdone, but still humorous.  The dialoge between Anakin and Padme wasn't great, but everyone else (including Hayden was fantastic) R2 has some great parts towards the begining.

Ian and Haydens conversations were really good.  (A good explanation of the Emperors master, and how he tought the Emperor to control dying-will be debated I'm sure)

They actually kind of leave it open as to wether or not Obi-Wan and Yoda are the only 2 jedi to survive (will be debated I'm sure).

Grievous is pretty good, Ewan really carries the load of the movie.  The final sabers scenes switching between Yoda/Emperor and Obi/Anakin is wonderful, neat to see 4 of the greatest jedi of all time duking it out simultaneously.

Vader is done well, Jesse and I thought the way he burned was done well, combustion being too close to the lava vs. actually being in the lava.

Seeing the new D.S. in the very early stages of construction at the end was really neat.

There will be lots more, I'll be posting on this for a while, just really excited about it right now, and glad to see the saga go out with a bang.

Someone check my math here:

Vader ratio is 5/200.

Each week there are 5 toys not including Vader.

Taking away Vader, the ratio of each toy is 39/200.

Toys are available for only a single week each (barring any carry over of stock).

Each week, Vader remains available at the same ratio.

The promotion runs for six weeks (30 toys; 5 per week).

Vader is available for all six weeks.

5 Vader x 6 weeks = overall ratio of 30/200 (if all the Vaders were released in a single week).

Now, unless my math is wrong, and it could easily be, Vader really isn't that tough and anyone crazy enough to pay much above retail really is crazy.

My math could be wrong too but should your overall ratio be 30/1,200?? you multiplied the 5 by 6 weeks but not the 200 by 6 weeks.

I'll do some math:

a chase vader that's ONLY 5 per week(yes thats only 5 per WEEK at any location during a national promotion!)
+ add to that it's only costs a buck
+ add to that he's one of the more popular characters of SW
+ add to that the fact that most employees grab them before anyone else can
+ add to that if you want a complete set, guess what? you'll need him

= scalper heaven on ebay. ;^)

Heck some of the guys can't find the normal ration figures let alone Vader.  Sheesh.

Other Collectibles / Re: Magazines
« on: May 14, 2005, 10:35 PM »
Here's a few more this week:

MAD (ROTS cover)
MAD XL(old Yoda cover)
Dreamwatch (ROTS cover)
Scrye(Vader cover)

I really love collection SW magazines, fairly inexpensive (you can always find mags in clearance bins, old book stores, flea markets, ebay, shows, etc)

It's great to just  pick up vintage mags w/SW in it and read the old articles.

There are some GREAT mainstream mags w/Star Wars covers:
old TIME, People, US, Rolling Stoneetc. etc.

I have a few old ones autographed an framed, non-SW fans absolutely love them, always a neat conversation piece.

Yes, it is, just contacted someone about a trade, I'm trying to get the chromes, up to about a dozen of them.

If anyone has any chromes they aren;t particularly interested in email me at bobafett.fourteen@verizon.net  I have a few regualr base ones:

Agen Kolar
Wookie scout
Super Battle Droids
Clone Trooper
(possibly Mace-that was the one someone wanted and I just emailed them about)

I'd trade a few regulars for a chrome.  I just figured maybe someone out there doesn't care about the chrome base and would rather have a few more regular base ones.

Other Collectibles / SW mastercard site update
« on: May 13, 2005, 09:05 AM »
www.galacticrewards.com has recently updated (its been a while) they added the kotobukiya Vader, ROTS comic, games, etc.

Plus it's in a new format.  Also, if you signed up for the Mastercard way back when it was first introduced your points will start to expire soon, so you may want to check it out and spend them if you got 'em.

Just a reminder.
