Rebelscum just featured an auction on their homepage today 3PO/R2 pans.

No inserts or anything, just the pans.

Posters are great
Comics are fun and inexpensive, great art
Trading cards are also in abundance.

SW Food/food related items are possibly my fav. (also anything you can find in a grocery store, toothbrushes, Puffs tissues, Dixie cups, etc.)

Hard to pick just one category.

Celebration III: Indianapolis / Re: Star Wars Celebration 3

CIII has been posted all over the place.

No major announcement on tix sales or anything, just exhibitor info.  Show hrs. are interesting  open til midnight Fri and Sat. movie veiwings I presume(exhibitors close around 7ish I think)

Booth fees for vendors are up, bages are running $90 for the 4 days, and last year the prices were the same for attendees (so we'll have to see if $90 is it)

Lots of time to setup on both Mon. and Tues.  Anyone want to go in on a $49,000 booth? ;^)

Cool, I hadn't even seen the "cheaper" foil pans ( the R2/Vader auction)

The pans are cool, trust me-worth every penny.  Just really cool collectibles, plus there are a lot of cake pan collectors ouot there, so similar to categories like Lunch boxes, they are great cross-collectibles.
Surprised to see the vader at $41 holy crap, Fett at $51 is understandable-he's a tough one.

I totally suck at SOCOM.  I'm lucky if I play all night and get a kill.

The whole reason I bought SOCOM in the first place a few weeks ago was to just get the PS2 online hooked up, make sure the system works, and get some practice in, even if it's not the same game ;^)

The 3PO is the one I need.  I love  these pans

Basically I've been trying to get the cake pans with an insert.  Anything over that is gravy.

Occationally a boxed w/insert and instructions- pan/set comes up on ebay for an arm and a leg.

I've lucked out, I recently got the Fett pan w/insert for about $20+a few $ S&H, Vader and R2 both I got under $15 w/insert.

I'd like to get the instructions, but not really a big deal-if I find em at a toy show or something great, but I'm not breaking my back for instructions.

I always like the quirky SW stuff.

Where ya seein two Mara Jades? I think there's only one...

I'm pretty sure I saw two of her at Comic Con, and in the Comic Con pix, as well as on a couple early checklists.  But now it appears that there's only the one "fighting" one.  I'll see if I can figure out what's happened.

SRLPs are $20 for the Starter Set, and $13 for the Boosters.  But buying by the case (12 boosters in a case) seems to be much cheaper - low $90's.

The stats I've seen on the breakdowns for the sets so far is this:

Starter set - 2 exclusives (Vader & Luke) plus 8 randoms, made up of 6 commons and 2 uncommons.

Booster set - 7 figures, made up of 4 common, 2 uncommon, and 1 rare or very rare.

That's what I've seen listed at a couple places anyway.  Not sure just how accurate that is.  My question, if those are true, is - is there any reason to buy more than just the 1 Starter set?  Get your exclusive Vader and Luke (which I think is assured in each set), and then move back over to the Boosters...?  Doesn't seem to be the potential of any rare or super rares in the Starter sets from what I can tell...

Yeah, I'm only buying one starter set.  After I get the 2 boosters and see what I get in them, it will determine how many more boosters I get.  If I have nearly every sommon, then it wouldn;t make sense for tme to keep getting boosters, but if I still need a bunch of commons, then I'll probably grab abother booster set or two.

I kinda view it like the CCG cards, I kept buying the packs until I had all the common/uncommons, then just went and bought the HTF ones individually.

I have a starter set and 2 boosters ordered just to see whats up.

I grabbed them from Essential comics in PA, they post at www.pswcs.com a lot, so I figured I'd give them some business.

I know some guys have pulled the Fett, Wampa, a Vader, Probe droid, speeders, etc. from the cases they got in so far-curious to see what I get as far as the extra rares go.  we'll find out this week.

I have a Sept. 25th meeting planned bunch of the guys coming over that day.  In the gameroom I'll have Battlefront on the widescreen and the minis game probably going on in the background.

Should be a fun day!

They just updated and now have the message boards and the leaderboard section accessible.  Message boards are useable and the leader board looks ready for kickoff once the product is released

Well, I've got a PS2 and an X-Box, and my PC is probably too slow to run this game properly. Since a new PC isn't exactly on the horizon right now, and a bunch of my buddies are buying this for PS2, I think I'll just go that route.

Let me know if any of you are going the PS2 route.

Have my PS2 version pre-ordered.  Also posted some cheap options if you haven't hooked up online.

TRU had some deals on the knock-off adapter ($29.99) and headset($15 after half off clearance deals)

Well, just as an FYI as to what I've been finding....

originally about a month or so ago, only the Luke and BLUE jumpsuit Fett were shipping, both with AND without the silver sticker in the corner.  Both Luke and Fet WITH the sticker seeming to hit in much fewer numbers.

Then a few weeks ago it appeared both the Fett AND Luke were shipping both without the stickers and this time the Fett is the GRAY version.  Just last week the Stormtrooper hit and all 3 were available all without the silver sticker, Fett still in the gray suit.

Thats what I'm finding in my neck of the woods-pretty much goes along with all the reports.

The Wookiee Arcade / Re: Star Wars Galaxies - Not Star Warsy enough
« on: August 27, 2004, 10:33 AM »
I played Asheron's Call back when and I too got tired of walking around forever trying to find stuff and it's the reason I didn't get into Galaxies(or any other online game) in the first place.
If you were to break down all the time spent on online games you'll probably find:

80% of the time your just wandering around trying to find stuff.
10% of the time your chatting with other palyers etc.
5% of the time your playing around w/inventory, buying stuff, "upping" ypur supplies, etc.
5% of the time your actually battling, conquering, actually "playing" the game

it's rediculous how much wasted time you spend on these games doing absolutely NOTHING at all.

That's why the online games I have for the PS2 are fun becasue you actually spend a good amount of time actually "playing" the game.  They are quicker, and take no time being able to jump into the middle of everything, instead of getting stuck int he trap of having to play forever before you can actually enjoy it.

The ONLY things I don't like about online games like SOCOM is that it's strictly a "reaction" based game.  You spend a min. finding the enemy then you both typically see ea. other at the same time, so it's simply a matter of who can hit the fire button first.   (yeah it's very realistic, but play value is diminished I think)

You should be able to absorb a few hits and at least be able to move a bit so you could spend a min. "battleing" ea. other, put a little strategy into a firefight instead of just BAM you're dead.

Power of the Force 2 / Re: The Beginning of POTF2
« on: August 27, 2004, 10:19 AM »
I actually was collecting the SW Bend-ems before the POTF2, and also the SW comics by Dark Horse.  I beleive the bend-ums came out around 1993 or 1994 (on vac. right now, can't remember) but I kept looking for the Fett and Luke X-wing (which I still need to complete that part of the collection)  they ran about $2.99 pretty cheap, but that's when I ran across the POTF2 in stores and the rest is pretty much history.

About that same time was when I first jumped online as well.  That's when I hit a few sites like collect sw, POTF2.com, and I think Gus's site were the early favs.  and I started grabbing the toy mags w/SW covers as well.
(I think the first Lee's I grabbed back then had the black cover w/TIE Fighter on it)  I still to this day collect mags w/SW covers on them.
