Title: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: jedipurge on June 11, 2008, 12:43 PM
Didn't find one for the regular collection but if there is please lock this.

The otheR Site posted some pretty interesting things.
www.rebelscum.com/story/front/New_Rumor_List_For_The_Legacy_Collection_115275.asp

Vehicles
Following up on the Star Destroyer rumor, we've gotten some reports of more updated vehicles, assuming the "BMF" (Big Millennium Falcon) and AT-TE sell well enough to show that the fans will support larger-scale vehicles.

- AT-ST
- Clone Turbo Tank
- E-Wing Starfighter
- Landspeeder
- Sith Starfighter
- Slave I
- Star Destroyer
- TIE Defender
- TIE Fighter
- TIE Interceptor
- X-Wing Fighter

It's kind of over the place, isn't it? So think of these as big time "what if?" possibilites for now. After all, there are only so many Jedi Starfighter repaints that can be done...something new has to come out eventually, right?

Playsets
Despite the long-standing stance that playsets don't sell well enough to warrant to costs involved, our spies have uncovered word of a pair of playsets/dioramas for the future. Again, consider this one of those wwwaaaayyyyy out there rumors, and not any kind of oicial confirmation.

- Death Star (possibly more than one)
- Forward Base Alpha (?)

As with any rumor list, take this all with a grain of salt, because it's not official, and may just be idle speculation.

Sounds like a very nice list.  Hopefully most, if not all of this comes to light...

Did someone mention playsets?   ;)

Nothing like the "shotgun" approach of guessing the next vehicles to get released...   with a list that big at least one thing has to be right.  :P

I could see them breaking down and finally doing some a few new playsets if they are tied into the CW stuff somehow...  something called "Forward Base Alpha" screams Clone Wars to me (something like that little Clone Base Yoda is at on Geonosis in AotC).

I'd be all over that forward command center. Imagine the kickass diorama you can have with a few dozen clones, the AT-TE,  gunships etc.  :D

"shotgun", ain't that the truth...  More like a friggin' howitzer shot...  Listing every possible vehicle as a "rumor" does seem like a broad stroke.

Captain Needa in an ANH wave?  Huh?  ???

I noticed once again no Fleet Trooper...  Hasbro still denying the most needed army builders.  >:(

The E-Wing seems like a bit of a stretch.  Sure, we're getting R7 units now (but only as build a figures), but the likelihood of an EU vehicle that would cost at least $20?  Come on.

I seem to rememeber Hasbro saying recently that the Landspeeder wasn't on it's Radar for an upgrade.   and now it is on a rumor list. What gives.   And didn't we just get upgrades on the Tie and X-wings?   this list has me think fan wish list more then rumor.  And they got me all happy with Playsets.

Shame on you shame

Even if they did make it, it probably wouldn't be interactive with the B-A-D (or any current) 'mechs anyway.  :P

All because of that damn EE pilot set!   :P

I was thinking the same thing. Why do we need the Tie Fighter...again! Or the Landspeeder for that matter, the 2002 is fantastic and does not need an upgrade at all. The AT-ST on the other hand needs a resculpt really bad. Retire the old one Hasbro you milked for all it's got.

And didn't we just get upgrades on the Tie and X-wings?

I assume they're only on the list because the existing molds are getting re-released the the Legacy line along with Slave I, the Interceptor and the Sith Starfighter.
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors

Yeah, I'm wondering if some of these are more "re-releases" than upgrades.  I mean, I'm not expert on scale or anything, but wasn't the last version of the Landspeeder pretty much perfect?  And, as others have mentioned, we've gotten the large winged TIE (and smaller winged version) a few times lately, so I don't see a need for an upgrade there either.  Although I wouldn't mind seeing all new versions of some of the others listed (the AT-ST, as Jesse has mentioned, is definitely do-able), if it gets them a little closer to scale (like the Falcon, which I realize is still small, but better).  Looking at the list again, some must be re-releases, because I don't see them doing an "all new" Sith Starfighter, since I'm pretty sure those were pretty well done the first time (repaints notwithstanding).  Playsets would be neat too.  I think a lot depends on the success of the Falcon and AT-TE.

If would go well in an Ultra Battlepack...

AT-ST has been mentioned a few times before, so that'd be my guess.

The Slave I and Landspeeder definitely don't need re-dos since their last re-dos.  So if we see those again they'll be repacks.

Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: Jesse James on June 12, 2008, 02:03 AM
If the AT-ST is to-scale, I'm there...  Same with just about all the vehicles really.

TIE Defender probably piqued my interest the most though.  What a well-deserved ship that would be.  Easily one of the best EU ship designs IMO, and something I'll gladly buy 3 of if they're as nice as the big wing TIE has been.

Certainly some cool things on that list, but I hope it's not just the fall schedule of releases. :o

I tend to agree with this idea.  And I think there's an Ultra Battle Pack in the works, as there's that Target DPCI listing for an ultra battle pack.

Post by: CHEWIE on June 12, 2008, 02:42 PM
Yes, seeing the Command Center in a battle pack makes sense.  I believe that idea's been discussed here a while back.

Something like this could be very nice -

- Destroyer Droid x 1
- Super Battle Droid x 1
- Battle Droid (red - using POTJ Security Droid sculpt) x 2
- Master Yoda x 1
- SA Clone (red or yellow) x 1
- SA Clone (white) x 2
- Hailfire Droid
- Forward Command Center

As for a Death Star?  Who knows... if made, I could see them making one level in some sort of UBP, and it including Stormies, Vader, the main Rebels, etc.  And if it does well, for them to release another level in a similar fashion, or even packaged in some sort of other manner.

If it happens then I can say "nah nah nah nah nah" to all the people who've said Hasbro would never make a Death Star playset.
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: Jesse James on June 12, 2008, 03:08 PM
You'll have to find those people then because I don't recall anyone saying they aren't going to make them...  People just said when it's asked in the Q&A it's pointless because Hasbro is telling you they won't (not people on forums, who want them as much as you do), and so it's a big redundant waste of time.  It's no secret Hasbro's had Death Star plans in the past, and we even reported very recently of a current playset that comes up at their meetings "routinely".

They just can't squeeze it in because they can't find a formula to make it a profitable venture for them.  Maybe the Ultimate Battlepacks have found them an avenue for it?  Then again, the "playsets" in those have hardly been the kinds of things people really consider a "playset".  More like a big assed accessory really.

Yeah! What they both said!

I'd much rather have that before some of the others on the "rumored" list.

More rumors from Dan Curto over at Rebelscum (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Another_Rumor_List_For_The_Legacy_Collection_115349.asp)

This isn't a wave I guess, but rather figures possibly into '09 and '10, so I guess we shouldn't hold our breath on all of them, but still great ESB names on the list for sure.

The Empire Strikes Back Basic Figures
- 2-1B (Medical Droid)
- Bespin Security Guard
- Captain Needa
- Imperial Probe Droid
- Luke Skywalker (Dagobah)
- Luke Skywalker (Medical Frigate)
- Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Spirit)
- Princess Leia (Medical Frigate)
- Rebel Hoth Soldier
- Toryn Farr
- Ugnaughts (2-Pack?)
-Willrow Hood (the infamous Ice Cream Maker Guy)

And quite a nice little nod to Scott from Dan as well, for the ICMG push.  Very cool...  I must admit though Scott, that while I dig ICMG, I was much more geeked to see the Rebel Hoth Soldier on that list. ;)  Long overdue figure for super articulation and tons of cool stuff.  I truly hope it's the foot soldier though, not the tan vested guys or whatnot.  We need a good white uniformed foot soldier first.

Post by: jedi_master_sal on June 14, 2008, 07:39 AM
Now this is a good list, especially if it turns out to be true.

Here's what I'll get from it:
2-1B (Medical Droid) X1 if it's a new sculpt and not the one from last year.
Bespin Security Guard X?? depends. Hopefuly this is a SA fig and has a running change for heads. White, Black and Chinese, please.
Captain Needa X?? again if it's SA, I'll get several. I need some officers to fill out the ranks.
Imperial Probe Droid PASS-I'll be getting the one in the battle pack out soon. Only if this one was a new sculpt
 Luke Skywalker (Dagobah) PASS
Luke Skywalker (Medical Frigate) X1 and yes it's about damn time. One of the rare few Luke's to have never been done. Same can be said for the Leia.
 Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Spirit) PASS
 Princess Leia (Medical Frigate) X1
Rebel Hoth Soldier X?? SA please and a running head change if you're going to make the hat removable.
Toryn Farr X3 SWEET! She is one of my most wanted figs from ESB. I REALLY hope she turns out to be true.
Ugnaughts (2-Pack?) X1 or more. Depends on sculpt, articulation and any running changes.
Willrow Hood (the infamous Ice Cream Maker Guy) X2 yes, I've supported this fellow all along!

That's a pretty well rounded list. The only figure missing is Bespin Han.

Luke (Medical Frigate) and the Ugnaughts are the most appealing to me.

I will be stunned if they don't give us an SA Hoth Rebel Soldier next year. It is one of the most sorely needed resculpts left. >:(

And the absence of Zuckuss makes me believe there may be some truth to the Vintage line rumor.

I'm stoked to see Needa on that list.  "Apology accepted, Captain Needa." -- it's one of the best lines of the entire saga.  :D

Title: RS rumor list ANH
Post by: jedi_master_sal on June 20, 2008, 12:42 PM
Here's there newest rumor list:

A New Hope Basic Figures
 TIE Fighter Pilot
 Rebel Fleet Trooper
 Saurin
 Imperial Commander
 Han Solo (Ceremony)
 C-3P0
 Danz Borin
 Dr. Evazan
 Wedge Antilles
 Walrus Man (Ponda Baba)
 Death Star Droid
 Death Squad Commander
 Bith Musician

Here's my take on this list:
TIE Fighter Pilot - meh, if I'm not buying TIE to pilot them, I don't need extras. I already have enough from previous releases. Hasbro, bring DOWN the price of the large winged TIE and I'll get those.
Rebel Fleet Trooper - Besides Jesse, I for one will be happy to have an updated version of this. Though for me, these still aren't a big priority
Saurin - About time. This is one of my highly desired Cantina Aliens
Imperial Commander - If it's SA hell yeah. Let's hope for a few head swap running changes.
Han Solo (Ceremony) - meh, PASS
 C-3P0 - meh, PASS
Danz Borin - WHO?? Oh okay having looked him up, he's the white suited spaceman. Nah, not needed.
Dr. Evazan - in bad need of a resculpt. SA please or close to it.
Wedge Antilles - I'm SO tired of Wedge figures. I just don't get the fascination with him.
Walrus Man (Ponda Baba) - same entry as Evazan.
Death Star Droid - ok, I'll bite. But aren't we already getting one close to this in the Droid Factory set?
Death Squad Commander - If this is just the Imperial trooper but in gray fatigues, meh, I'll get a couple. Won't army build it.
Bith Musician - OMG, enough already. These are played out (pun intended). Seriously, I don't need these guys yet again. I got them the first time from the fan club, I got them the second time from the tin, I got one of them from the third time as a Disney exclusive. Let them take a set break PLEASE!

I can also see Hasbro running these with different instruments just to piss of carded collectors.

Quite a rumor list. I don't even know where to start. A lot of good OT offerings, but here's one glaring omission: Klatuu - Jabba's palace.

You know I was thinking the exact same thing when I first saw that. At first I thought iceman could have been some EU character till I saw psylocke and prof. X lol.

I cannot help but think that a lot of these 'rumor' lists are just fan wishlists. If these are true, then Hasbro seems to be cranking out a helluva lot of collector friendly figures. If they were going to end the line by the end of 2010, I could see all of these coming out. As of now, I think a lot of these are just the ideal figures for the Legacy Collection dreamed up by some fanboy or ideas that are in really, really early stages of development at the Big H.

Galactic Hunter (http://www.galacticblogger.com/blogger/?p=135) (courtesy of 42N-TLR) has a new rumor list up.  A lot of it we have seen before, and most to all of it is OT, but if it is true it sounds good to me - and knocks off a lot of the "most wanted" figures we've discussed around here.  Check it out at the linky.

Worthy of note is that Banthaskull is backing the list, adds a little more credit to the rumors. A very nice list indeed if it's true! I am getting bored with the prequel stuff and would welcome a heavy OT dose of figures. It's a shame the Tonnoka Sisters are absent, what the hell kind of contract did they sign to delay them this long?

The Juggernaut is something I can live without but of course being the "have to get all the new stuff" addict that I am I will buy one. (I already bought two AT-TE's so what's one more massive vehicle?) I am getting scared with how many large vehicles could be coming and a Death Star play set to boot....the space needed is concerning. The Death Star is something that does excite me, what a great way to display figures! (Keeping the floors shiny will be difficult as dust will surely settle....)

That is a pretty sweet ride.   ;)

This one scares me though..

We’ve already mentioned the winter’s biggest toy, The Death Star (phase one)

Phase One?  I really wish this was 2002.  It's nice that they're finally getting around to making all of this great (BIG) stuff, but I'm running out of room..

Interesting list... Cool that they're making a TIE Defender. Hopefully it's not an exclusive.
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: Muftak on August 11, 2008, 03:04 PM
I'll take nearly every single figure on that list. That will get me a long ways towards finishing the stuff I want.

Dagobah Creatures Pack and Tatooine Creatures Pack are new ones by me. Maybe no reason to buy the Homestead Scene if you're only interested in the Womprat. The Dragonsnake resurfacing as well?

Imperial Techs in multiple jumpsuits? White/grey and black are the only ones I can think of...

I'd like to see the TIE Fighter and Defender in the basic vehicle line, and if I figure right the straight repack allows for the new tooling for the Defender.

Mr. May is still hanging on to his Death Star Playset (phase I) for this Christmas, eh? I still bet this will be a relatively small piece of the other Target Battle Pack, with the real Death Star Playset showing up for Christmas '09, but I would love to be proven wrong.

And a tease of a Dagobah playset as well? Hope they choose to reuse the vintage mold as opposed to going the way of the planned POTF2 version.

Now that you mention it, this rumor list almost sounds too OT heavy to be true. I admit, I bought in a little too quick for the heavy OT factor, is Banthskull even a credible site for news?

GH gets some credit for breaking the Falcon story first but until I see a DS instruction sheet I will be skeptical. 18 months covers a lot of speculation, guys like Han Bespin and a few others have already been confirmed in Q&A's. Diddly brought me back to reality.

Anyone else not crazy about the Tie Defender? I think it's a pretty weak design. I rather see a rerelease of real vehicles like the Hoth Troop Transport before more EU vehicles. Figures are one thing, new vehicles are another.

I will agree that this is sounding too good to be true. If I had to bet money on it, I'd say that these figures are definites for being on tap from now up until late 2010... maybe 2011. I doubt that these figures could fill up slots for a year (Even a year and a half) cuz you still have to add in EU, Prequel Movies, and CLONE WARS.

In a way wish they had started putting stuff like that out then too, but I don't think they would have done it justice back then... heck, even then they didn't understand the concept of army building!

If we had something made like this back in 2002, it would probably just be another piece of junk right out of the old formula they used to use for their playsets.  It took them a long time to finally start changing their business model in terms of the bigger items, in making them actually look like something from the films and not overloaded with aesthetic distracting action features.  They've proven they can do things right with the Falcon and AT-TE... and also on the Lars homestead and Sarlacc Pit (though overpriced, but the playset-diorama stuff itself is solid).  Hopefully a Death Star, if done, will be given justice.

I think Hasbro needs to be careful.

They really are running a risk of having too many big things at once.

I'm glad they're doing them, but I don't want to see them crash and burn like they did during the EP1/end of POTF2 era.

I agree, even now, there's just too much stuff hitting.  In fact, I skipped the new comic packs that I saw the other day.  I felt as if I hadn't really digested what I'd bought last month.  One I skipped them, I didn't miss them at all, and now I think I might pass on ALL comic packs.  And the thing is, I think they're kind of cool, but I can only buy so much stuff.

As far as the Death Star playseset goes, the way to make this thing work is to make it so that a cunsumer can buy multiples to create a larger DS.  For instance, I have no reason to buy 2 Falcons.  But a 75.00 DS set with a Control Room, Detention center and some hallways, well, maybe I'd buy 2.  I don't need two Conference rooms, or Trash Comapctors.  Make them seperate, smaller sets.

What would be the harm in them keeping the Falcon hitting the shelves from now until the end of the holiday shopping season?

It makes no sense to me at all to have roughly $250 of product come out now only to have a completely new set of $250 worth of product coming out for Christmas.

Can the collector community bare the burden of this much product? Perhaps, but I think the size of that community is definitely pretty small. How many kids are going to get more than one $100 - $150 items? Not too many.

They should let the BMF and AT-TE sit on shelves as long as possible so that their sales numbers can benefit from the holiday shopping season. Let the Death Star and Juggernaught be the big items in 2009.

There was a very different team running the Star Wars group back in 2002.  Truth be told, I think that the current group (Derryl DePriest) is much more in touch with the collector mindset than Jeff Popper (brand manager back in 2002) ever was.  Probably because Derryl is a collector and seems to be approaching the brand from the vantage point of what he would like in his own collection.  At the very least he understood the troop building concept.

As for the new rumor list?  It's looking pretty cool.  And it's consistent with a previous rumor list or two as well as some Q&A session hints.  Especially with regard to the TESB figures.

Regarding the Death Star?  I'm of a wait and see kind of attitude.  Rumors are cool and all, but anything can happen.  Adam May himself has said that he'd been following the development of the BMF Falcon for at least a couple of years.  So if it takes a while for any kind of Death Star, so be it.

The Clone Turbo Tank is something that I've been thinking could be on the way since this past Toy Fair.  I had a chat with a Hasbro Star Wars team member and the Turbo Tank seemed to be on their radar screens.  Especially in light of the Clone Wars series.

The TIE Defender is a little bit of a head scratcher.  Perhaps it's something that Hasbro thinks they can get into the Assault Vehicles line?  It does seem like Hasbro has had a tough time fitting new ships into that price point.  Maybe this TIE would fit in that line.

A very nice list.  I am with others though that is really OT heavy and who knows when most of that stuff is coming out.

Death Star - I wonder if this is going to be like the ultimate packs or what they have planned?  I am just happy to hear this keep popping up.

Creatures packs - This sounds interesting.  Dagobah - I guess it would be the swamp monster, snakes, etc.  Tatooine - Womp Rat and Worrt maybe?

Yoxgit - This is the rabbit from the comics right?  LOL!  Why not?

Cantina patrons - They have been cranking these guys out lately.  I am always in for those.  I sure hope Bom Vimdin and the Saurin finally get out to us.  Danz would be fun I think.  Finally we may be getting the other Duro.

Rebel Fleet Troopers - Definately hope they do the head variants.  I am hoping for the grey haired rebel as one of them.

Oola - This has been rumored for what 7 years now?  It sure seems like it.

Wooof and Kithaba- PLEASE be true!!!

Sim Aloo - I sure hope so.

Imperial Techs - I did not see that coming so that has to be legit!

Turbo Tank - That would just about complete the big items from the films.  Except of course a bigger Tri-Droid and Destroyer type ships.  Unless they actually ever make a dropship for the AT-TEs.

TIE Defender - For some reason I really like the look of that ship.  I wonder if they would make this small for the $20 range or go for the $40 "big wing" version of the TIE fighters lately?

Dagobah Playset - Hey, finally a place to put those Saga Dagobah figures into.  I assume this is going to be true if they release that Dagobah creatures pack.  That would make sense anyway.

E-3PO - I thought for sure they would just add this into the B-A-D.  But if it comes single packed that would be fine of course.

Fett ROTJ -  I am guessing this will be an Evolutions re-pack in Jedi colors.

Needa - I never really thought they would get to Needa.  Nice.

Remaining ESB characters - Those are all welcome of course.  I just hope Farr comes with a control panel/screen of some type.

Anakin - Other than a new Outland Peasant Anakin and adding ball jointed ankles to the Evolutions one, I can't see what they could do with him.
Beru/Owen - Hasbro has hinted around recently saying they're pretty much coming so I hope they don't disappoint.
Typho - Sweet! Bring it on.
Clone - What? Unless it's an SA mini-Clone/Young Boba I can pretty much pick up Clones whenever I want them.
Jango - Like Anakin, besides giving him scars on his face and giving the Evolutions version a Kamino jetpack I don't know what else they could do with him.
Obi-Wan - Pleeeeeeeeeese have a good headsculpt.
Tarados Gon - Who?

The Evolutions sets sound intriguing, I'll probably pass on the Battle Packs.

Yeah, I was most curious about the "Evolution of Commandos" set as well.  It would be great if it did include some Endor and other Rebel soldiers though.  The AOTC wave overall looks ok I guess.  I don't know if it will include any repacks/retools, but it certainly could.  We've pretty much already gotten "definitive" versions of Anakin, Jango, and the white clone (if that is what the clone is) - although I wouldn't mind seeing the Evolutions Anakin and Jango on basic cards with some new/extra accessories or something.  The Outland Peasant Anakin is a good candidate for a re-do as well.  I think Hasbro has hinted that we wouldn't have to wait long for Owen/Beru, so those figures make sense.  A new Typho wouldn't be so bad either.  The Obi-Wan is the star of this wave though, if its an all-new, "definitive" AOTC Obi-Wan Kenobi that we've been waiting for (and has been rumored/confirmed by Hasbro previously - was once part of an Evolutions set, correct?).

as far as Anakin goes I'm pretty sure we all basically thought the Evo ROTS was pretty definitive minus ball elbows but look what H pulled outta their pocket w/the first wave this year, even though he's still not definitive version that'll be next time  :-\  They could do something like that here, mod the Evo version w/ball hips maybe even ditch the soft goods.

and Obi-wan about freakin' time, but I wonder how much of him would use the ROTS mold, he really just needs different paint apps and new boots and the head from comic pack and you're done.

more rebel pilots-who's left beside new heads on the bodies that we NOW already have, hmmmm except the y-winger I guess.

They could just use the TAC sculpts for Anakin (http://www.yakface.com/TGuide2004/html/tac08/02.html) and Obi-Wan (http://www.yakface.com/TGuide2004/html/tac08/01.html) since they are the most articulated figures thus far, both have ball-joint hips and ankles. Hmmm.  Interesting list this time 'round.

Basic Figures

Anakin Skywalker #1 - I think a new Outland Peasant disguise Anakin seems like a likely choice

Anakin Skywalker #2 - My guess is this might be an arena battle version, with the chains and possibly the green lightsaber

Beru Lars - Very welcome at long last.

Captain Typho - This has got to be Typho in his dress uniform from Padme's quarters.

Clone Trooper - I think we just have to expect a Clone Trooper in these waves.  Although I think I'd like to see this one either with sergeant of captain's markings in the EVO sculpt.

Jango Fett - I'm guess we get the EVO Jango, but maybe with the Kamino rocketpack and maybe the grappling line.

Obi-Wan Kenobi - A plain, Coruscant Obi-Wan w/ softgoods robes would be perfect.

Own Lars - Much like Beru, we've waited a while for this.

Tarados Gon - Cool.  Another arena battle Jedi.

Battle Packs

Geonosis Assault - This is making me think of the battle on the plains of Geonosis.  Figure 1 x Jedi, 1 x Clone, 1 x Battle Droid & 1 x Super Battle Droid

Outer Rim Ambush - I'm drawing a blank on this one.  A guess for me would make this Darth Maul attacking Qui-Gon and Anakin, along with the bloodfin speeder.  Hopefully with the new EVO sculpts on Maul and Qui-Gon.  But seeing how Hasbro did this exact same character lineup in the EPISODE I line Cinema Scenes, I don't know how likely this is.  But it was the only thing for me that fits an ambush...other than Anakin attacking the Tusken Raiders, which doesn't seem like an ambush per se.

Search for R2-D2 - My guess on this one is Luke w/ binoculars & rifle, C-3PO, a Tusken Raider and the Landspeeder

Evolutions

Imperial Pilots Legacy #2 - V-Wing pilot, of course.  Beyond that, I'm thinking Han Solo as a TIE Pilot and maybe a member of Black Squadron

Rebel Pilots Legacy #3 - I really didn't see this one coming.  Maybe this one is the vehicle for the new Wedge that Hasbro has been hinting at?  Beyond that, it's just wishlist pilots for me, like Davish "Pops" Krail, Theron Nett or grey leader from ROTJ.

Evolution of the Commandos - I see this one having an ARC Trooper (Advanced Recon Commando), a Republic Commando, and an Endor Rebel Commando.

I'm thinking that both of these are going to be Clone Wars-based, given the constant mentions of the Outer Rim in the CW fiction, as well as information in the Clone Wars Visual Guide.  Spoilers abound for the TV series, so be warned:

Outer Rim Ambush:  I'm thinking a repaint of the soon-to-be released animated Padme, Onaconda Farr (Rodian Senator), Jar Jar Binks, and Nute Gunray.  Three figures that would be retail suicide if released on cards individually and a repaint. :)

Search for R2-D2:  Based on the episode described in the CW VG, it will probably have an animated Anakin, the Trandoshan Separatist technician, R2-D2 and "Goldie" (Anakin's "replacement" astromech from when R2 goes missing).

RS (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Latest_Vehicle_Rumors_For_TLCTCW_118440.asp) has a new rumor list up for vehicles/beasts for both The Legacy Collection and Clone Wars.  Definitely some good stuff on there, but again a real focus on ROTS.  I guess I understand the focus on the prequel era stuff, but I am sort of disappointed with little OT attention here (although most of those ships have been made I guess).  I wouldn't mind seeing some more "re-dos" of the OT ships sprinkled in the line.  Anyways, here's the list (or hit the linky for more), looks pretty good if it holds true:

Clone Turbo Tank (ROTS)
MagnaGuard Fighter (ROTS)
Republic Tank Fighter (Clone Wars)
Confederacy Tank Droid (ROTS)
Wedge Antilles' Red Two X-Wing Fighter with Wedge (ANH)

Felucian Gelagrub (ROTS)
Mustafar Lava Flea (ROTS)

Yes please.

Particularly on the tank droid and turbo tank.  Oh hell, and the gelagrub.

Which Confederacy Tank Droid is that?  The snail looking one we see on Kashyyyk?

I'm excited about the Republic Tank Fighter, though the rest of the rumor list is very interesting...

I couldn't care less about the Lava Flea, didn't we only see its ass in ROTS? Definitely a shelfwarmer. As for the Gelagrub, cool if done right.

Clone Turbo Tank (ROTS): Oh hell yes! While it should be MUCH bigger than the AT-TE according to ROTS scale, I'd still be very happy with one the same size or bigger than the AT-TE. If it was about the height of the toy AT-AT, I'd be VERY happy. Put me down for one. If at this scale I see the price betwee $100-150.
MagnaGuard Fighter (ROTS): Not really a "wanted" ship, but I'll get one. It's a decent design. I see this as a $20-40 toy.
Republic Tank Fighter (Clone Wars): I have been wanting this tank for AGES it seems. If it is indeed the TX-130 Sabre-class tank!  THere are repaint opportunities here too. First the red one as that's the most known paint scheme for this tank, then the blue Imperial era one. Then I supposed a "clean" one, that is to say no big color markings, but rather the plastic hull color throughout. (hopefully not a "Shadow" variant as it would be stupid to have a shadow TANK...) I'll get two reds, one blue and one non-color deco. I see this as a $20-30 toy since it's not all that big.
Confederacy Tank Droid (ROTS): I'm all over this one. I like the Snail design. Not really practical, but it FUN! One or two for me. $20-30 for this one as well
Wedge Antilles' Red Two X-Wing Fighter with Wedge (ANH): While I'm not really wanting another X-wing, I'll prolly bite on this one. But only if it's the FX scale and not the vintage style scale. $40-50 I'm thinking, though it really should only be $30-35.
Felucian Gelagrub (ROTS): Excellent! I've had a decent enough stand-in for awhile, but an actual toy would be great. Hopefully it lights up from within and glows. Without pack-in rider this should be a $10-15 toy. With fig, add $5.
Mustafar Lava Flea (ROTS): Sure why not. Not high on my list, but I'll get one for certain. Without pack-in rider this should be a $10-15 toy. With fig, add $5.

All in all, I'm happy with this rumor list and hope they all become a reality. Whether or not a couple of them is high on my list doesn't matter, we'd need them at some point, so I'm fine if these come out before some of my other more desired ones, so long as we do get some of those other more desired ships.

Give me a break

I'm with Scott on this...

I really don't think every rumor list is coming from Curto's generally reliable sources these days...  I think they're getting wishlists from less reliable sources who name as much as they can, and claim when one or two things come out that they guessed on that they're Hasbro soothsayers.  Hell, Hasbro's not even had time to truly gauge the big ticket item's sales through the holidays yet on things like the Falcon and AT-TE, for them to be hinting at Juggernaughts.

Do I think this stuff gets discussed?  **** yeah...  So does a Death Star playset but that doesn't mean it's happening or even close to happening.  Practically everything gets discussed, that doesn't make it a "rumor" though.

Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: Brian on October 14, 2008, 09:43 AM
Yeah, I'm kind of anxious to see what the ANH X-Wing w/Wedge is like too.  That's one thing on the list that I could see being made with what Hasbro has said recently about getting Wedge out there next year again.  It would still be nice to see an all-new, "ultimate" Wedge Antilles in the regular carded line though - he really is a character that is somewhat neglected in that sense.

On a side note, excuse me for being dumb on this, but what are the differences between the various X-Wings (Luke's, Wedge's, Biggs', etc.)?  Are they very significant?  I bet if those had been made in this day and age they would all be different colors like the Jedi Starfighters ;).

The stripes that run front to back on the S-foils (wings).  The number of stripes denotes which X-wing it is, Red one has 1 stripe, Red two has 2, etc.

It does eventually get to be like the case of the boy who cried wolf.  After a point you don't know what's legit and what is not.  And because in most if not all rumor report cases, the reader isn't privy to the sourcing.

Still, it does make for something to talk about on the message boards.  Perhaps that's the motivation for this?  And who's to say that some of the vehicles on these lists aren't Titanium renditions, and not versions for the 3.75" figure line?  At least a few of the vehicles on that list did wind up in the Titanium line.  The Rogue Shadow, most notably.
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: Brian on October 14, 2008, 10:13 AM
Yeah, it does give us something to discuss if nothing else.  I'm guessing that the majority of new vehicle toolings are going to be dedicated to ships that appears in the Clone Wars series, and in many cases will also be vehicles that were at least making background appearances in the movies.  Sprinkle in an exclusive OT ship re-release here and there, and some other repackaged vehicles, and that is likely what we'll see.  I'm hoping we'll get a resculpted, all-new OT vehicle here and there as well.  An all-new Snowspeeder is high on my personal list, and something that could fit in the regular $20-$25 starfighter line I would think.  Anyways, I think the majority of what we'll be seeing in the next couple of years will come from the Clone Wars, and there's a lot of nifty stuff there.  It makes me hard to cut back on prequel vehicles though, that's for sure ;).

The Legacy Star Destroyer will be a real challenge for Hasbro. Which figures must include? Imperial Technicians, imperial officers, an evolution Vader? It must be larger than BMF because the scale is being updated constantly.

Will they arrange the meditation chamber, the bridge, the guns, the same place as vintage Star Destroyer?

As the first Star Destroyer of a new line, must include the name of this ship, for example "TLC Executor Star Destroyer"

I really do not need another X-Wing.  But of course they never want to release Wedge on a single card it seems.  Unless you count the super high priced internet exclusive.  Maybe I will just buy it and sell the X-wing?

I actually welcome this X-Wing repaint as there are (technically) only two distinct ones: Luke's and Red Leaders. With all the variants of Ties and Jedi Starfighters I am actually more than ready to add Wedge's, the ship that took out the DS2! I am so utterly sick of Prequel ****...bring on more OTC!!!

Never understood that, don't they go all the way the 12?  I can't see there being 12 stripes on one wing.
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: Jesse James on October 20, 2008, 08:53 PM
We never see Red 12 to know, but that's the theory the model makers were going with...  Personally, it's hokey to me too...  The stripes had no rhyme/reason in ROTJ.  Also ships would get passed around so routinely save for "special" squadrons.  It's more likely ships would see rotations in their squad and you'd fly whatever ship you were assigned for whatever mission.  Or so goes EU...  Only the special guys have their own fighter, basically.

I think it's a good ship to have at retail, but it'll inevitably be overpriced.

New "rumors" from Scum:

The Legacy Collection
Rebel Pilot fans rejoice...as those Dagger Squadron Pilots are reportedly on tap for possible exclusives. Since the latest B-Wing Fighter includes one pilot already, it's not hard to fathom who the others might be.

The "Ultra-Articulated" Clone Trooper will be the Phase 2 Trooper from ROTS...although certainly a simple head/helmet swap could be done to make him a Phase 1 Trooper.

The "Ultra Articulated" Stormtrooper looks like it has been put on hold for now until some things are fixed. No further info on what that really means...but we'll be trying to ferret out more details.

We might see 2 Evolutions waves in 2009...spring and fall. No word on which figures will be included if these come to pass, but they are always a hit with collectors, and several rumors already abound.

What are they going to do?  Articulate the fingers?

If I were going to ultra articulate a Stormtrooper, I'd go this route for it:

-ball/socket head w/removable helmet (generic headsculpt, not Jango).
-ball/socket shoulders
-ball/socket elbows
-ball/socket wrists (love 'em on CW figures)
-ball/socket hips (love it on Gree, Obi, Ani, and even VOTC Luke it's a neat addition)
-ball/socket knees
-ball/socket ankles
-ball/socket torso

The ankles and the wrists are about the only additions I can think of, short of actually changing the STYLE itself, like say double-hinging the knees like on GI Joes.  I'm not wild about that articulation on SW figures though, especially armored figures, so to me the "ultra" just means the wrists and hips get ball/socket joints.

I've stopped going by the rumor lists and just go through the Q&A sessions to see what Hasbro will either confirm or hint at.  The hints are pretty easy to pick up on and it's usually good fodder for discussion.

The rumor lists seem to have largely become fanboy wishlists rather than anything factual...  That is disappointing but I guess it just means rumors are easier to ignore now.

More stuff from Scum...

The Legacy Collection
Backing up one of our previous reports, here's a bit more info on what seems to be a wave dedicated to Attack of the Clones:

53569-38210 Obi-Wan Kenobi
53569-38211 Beru Lars
53569-38212 Owen Lars
53569-38213 Captain Typho
53569-38214 Anakin Skywalker
53569-38215 Tarados Gon
53569-38216 Anakin Skywalker
53569-38217 Jango Fett
53569-38218 Clone Trooper
53569-38219 Clone Pilot

This is a bit strange to see, since Hasbro didn't mention 9 figures from AOTC in their recent list for 2009.

As for more "traditional" rumored figures, here's a new batch of some familiar names, possibly from the second A New Hope wave for next fall:

Saurin (Hrchek Kal Fas)
Danz Borin
Imperial Scanning Tech
Rebel Officer/Commander (Rebel Fleet Trooper?)

The Clone Wars
From the record-breaking animated series, this line continues to be popular with younger fans.

53569-37822 ARC Trooper ($6.97)
53569-37823 Super Battle Droid Ser ($6.97)
53569-37824 Admiral Yularen ($6.97)
53569-37826 Jawa 2pk ($6.97)

Action Figure Battle Packs
Much like we have seen in 2008, this series will continue to mix both TLC and TCW into the case assortments. While it's not specifically mentioned just exactly which line the following fall into, it is easy to make some guesses...

53569-35954 Escape Mos Eisley ($21.76)
53569-35955 Geonosis Arena ($21.76)
53569-38021 Ambush in the Outer Rim ($19.97)
53569-38020 Search for R2-D2 ($19.97)
53569-38022 Geonosis Assualt ($19.97)

Unleashed Battle Packs
While not specifically listed as such, the pricepoint and naming convention suggests these may be new sets from this army-building line that continues to decorate desktops.

53569-35058 Obi-Wan Batallion ($10.96)
53569-35057 Commander Fox's Coruscant Guard ($10.96)
53569-35056 Clone Wars Pilots ($10.96)
53569-35055 Jedi vs. Droids ($10.96)

Possible 2-Packs
It's not entirely clear just WHAT these are meant to be, but it's likely that these are the successors to the "Order 66" and "Droid Factory" type of 2-packs we've seen in the past. It's also not known if these are meant to be TLC or TCW figures.

53569-38209 Separatist Villains ($10.96)
53569-34529 Hero and Droid ($10.96)

Interesting list, although its tough to know how much to take from these anymore.  But, it is nice to see some new rumors - it seems like news has been a bit dry for awhile now.  Anyways, as for the AOTC wave, I'm wondering if the actual 6 figure wave isn't the first six on the list:

Obi-Wan Kenobi (SA, all-new, originally slated for the Evolutions set)
Uncle Owen (confirmed via Q and A)
Aunt Beru (confirmed via Q and A)
Captain Typho (I'm guessing all-new)
Anakin Skywalker (maybe a repack/retool of the Evolutions version, or a new Outlander Disguise?)
Tarados Gon

Then, the last ones on the list could be the "Greatest Hits" repacks for this wave:

Anakin Skywalker (Again, maybe/hopefully the Evolutions repack)
Jango Fett (Hopefully Evolutions repack, but maybe the TAC one again)
Clonetrooper (any of them, maybe white repack although we see that in "Legends")
Clone Pilot (Evolutions one would be the best choice)

The only thing is, wasn't a OOM-9 Battle Droid confirmed at some point via the Q and As?  I'm pretty sure it was, and that makes me think this list is a little bit off.  We'll see eventually I suppose.  The rumored ANH figures sound good, and are ones that many people have been wanting.  Although this isn't the Clone Wars section, those figures look good - and have been rumored for awhile.  I don't know why we are able to get a 2 pack of Jawas here, but not in the TLC line (of course they are "simpler" figures I guess, maybe bringing the price down).

The Battle Packs could be interesting.  I'm curious to see what is included in the Mos Eisley pack, although I'm sure we can guess.  I think the Outer Rim and Search for R2 packs have been rumored for awhile for the CW line, right?  The 2-pack lines sound interesting too, I wonder if one is Target's and one is Wal-Marts, or if this is a new "mass retail" assortment (unlikely with comic packs continuing I guess).  The Order 66 concept might be played out now though, so I could see them going to a new area.

Nothing about the battle packs look interesting. I was hoping for more stuff like the Yavin BP.

Two RC vehicles were mentioned in that UK Toy Fair book...  An RC Gunship, and an RC BARC Speeder...  Neither was confirmed for 3.75" line, but it's the same place the Juggernaught/TurboTard was "confirmed", though I think US Toy Fair will reveal the truth.

That said, nobody, and I mean nobody, has given credit to the UK site that I believe first pictured the book from UK Toy Fair...  It just got lifted around the net and uploaded to every site I think, but it was pictured a while ago, haha.  Typical.  Now stuff in it is suddenly miraculously turning up on "rumor lists".  Oh, going out on a limb there! :)

Thanks, but to JediNewsUK (http://www.jedinews.co.uk/news/news.aspx?newsID=2100) goes the credit. We just passed on the info. ;)

Yes, I take that back.  Some people did, and that was really good of them, because I noticed other people at other sites pretty much lifted it and were dicks about it.  I somehow doubt those other sites attending UK Toy Fair to get that book though. ;)

It miraculously turned up in their forums though...  OOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo  ::)

Was just reading Adam May's blogger (http://www.galacticblogger.com/blogger/2009/05/06/have-you-checked-suspension-in-the-fantastic-bird/) and stumbled upon this...

Now, we have all heard rumblings that the good people at Hasbro are putting out a playset at the end of the year (when big box items sell their best). I hope that they will do their best to make sure we get the most bang for our buck.

Am I in the minority here?  I haven't heard of this.  Is he even talking about Star Wars or is he trying to spill the beans again  ???

I noticed that the other day as well.  I was wondering what he was talking about.  I remember last year (maybe fall-ish) him mentioning a possible Death Star playset - or a couple different ones - but it was more in passing talking again.  I wonder if we will see something big like that this winter.  You would think it would be focused on Clone Wars, but it sure would be spiffy if it was OT.

Has anybody got news about the rumored TLC At st and new Luke´s snowspeeder?

Hope these will be very evolved toys, the vehicle and snowspeeder without decals, all sculpted and decent pilot action figures.
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: Nicklab on May 20, 2009, 10:33 PM
The new snowspeeder isn't a rumor.  It got confirmed back in a fall '08 Q&A session.  And my own expectations are kind of high.

As for the AT-ST?  That rumor's been circulating for at least a month if not more.  I'm hoping that it'll fit Chewbacca and 2 ewoks.
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: stan on May 20, 2009, 11:31 PM
At-St (including At-St Driver) will be coming in October and will be a Wal Mart Exclusive and retail around 35-45 dollors.
The Snow Speeder is coming next year along next year.  Their will be three new vechiles that I know of so far.  2nd is the swamp speeder.
Hope this helps.
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: Brian on May 21, 2009, 09:32 AM
Thanks for the info Stan.  Glad to hear further confirmations on the new AT-ST, I hope it really is impressive.  Plus, a sub-$50 pricepoint is always welcome.  I'm not crazy about it possibly being a WM exclusive though, since those have really become hit or miss around here (none of our three stores in town ever got the A-Wing in last year for example).  Hopefully, they'll make it readily available in store and online.  I really hope all these rumors of a new Snowspeeder are true for this year or next.  Next to the Falcon (and maybe the X-Wing), the Snowspeeder was my favorite ship as a kid - and I'd really like to see an all-new scaled version.

Hasbro has kept saying that "wait until you see our fall exclusive program at SDCC", or something to that effect, in regards to "where's the OT stuff?".  I wonder if we're going to see a number of OT exclusives with the rumors we've been hearing.  Isn't Wedge's X-Wing rumored to be set for Target?  If this new AT-ST is headed to WM, maybe each of the "Big 3" will have an exclusive vehicle this fall (although we haven't heard anything about a third/TRU exclusive).

Okay so going off the post from Brian if the toys are Wedge's X-wing that represents ANH. The AT-ST would be for ROTJ. So I'd guess a new smaller (more accurate) snowspeeder is the ESB ship.

I'm definitely looking forward to an all-new Zuckuss.  My bounty hunter lineup has looked incomplete, as I've been holding off on picking up the POTF2 version at this point hoping for an all-new one.  They also discussed improving Dengar, noting that while the sculpt on the SAGA version was pretty good - the articulation could be improved.

Did one (or both) of the Gam Guards that Luke choked (just before Luke is met by Bib Fortuna) have a pole-arm of some kind?  I think it'd be cool to get that, even if it is the only scene with that weapon.

This thread is as good a place as any to put this since it involves rampant speculation and reading into things that may or may not be there...

In the most recent Q&A Session @ HH (http://hanshideout.blogspot.com/2009/09/hasbro-star-wars-q-session-16.html), Hasbro passed along a list of their "fan choice" figures.

In no particular order:
Snoova (resculpt)
the actual "Sith" species
Mandalorian Neo Crusader
Bastila Shan
Joe Johnston concept Imperial Guard
Phase 2 Dark Trooper (2 votes so technically the #1 choice here)
Guri
Weequay Skiff Master
Widdle & Oochee 2-pack
Yuuzhan Vong (more slender sculpt)
Luke in Emperor Guard disguise (resculpt)
super-articulated Rancor with elbows and knees (hey, that's not eligible!)
Nera Dantels
super-articulated AT-ST driver
Bettybot
female Stormtrooper from Legacy 0
Jaxxon
Ponda Baba
Dr. Evazon
Aqualish Technician (Clone Wars)
Nelvaan Warrior (mutated - he'd be HUGE!)
Shado Vao.

What makes the list even more interesting to me is that a few figures off their "wishlist" were confirmed as coming "eventually" in past Q&As (Ponda, Evazon) and a few more were confirmed by JTA's Q&A (http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/content/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=5170/#details) this week - AT-ST Driver and Widdle & Oochee.

It makes you wonder how many of the others on the list are already planned for '10/'11.  Time for some speculation perhaps?   ;)
Title: Re: Legacy Collection Rumors
Post by: jedi_master_sal on September 10, 2009, 04:50 PM
Hmm, from their list I'd like to see the following:
Bastila Shan
Joe Johnston concept Imperial Guard
Phase 2 Dark Trooper (2 votes so technically the #1 choice here)
Guri
Widdle & Oochee 2-pack
Nera Dantels (OK, but I did have to WIKI her to see who she was)
super-articulated AT-ST driver
Bettybot (Absolutely!)
female Stormtrooper from Legacy 0
Jaxxon
Dr. Evazon

Most notable of those are Bastila Shan (the JD winner in the last spot of the fan choice poll); Guri (but which outfit, I"m partial to the yellowish/purple version); Bettybot (there is even three deco versions of this, so easy money on a repaint for Hasbro); Jaxxon. not the cartoony version of him, rather the realistic version. If that is true, I'll really be disappointed.  I mean we know that the new Han Bespin is coming eventually, but it seems like it keeps getting rumored/pushed back each year, and the 30th Anniv. of ESB would be a perfect time to release him.  It is probably my most wanted remake, as nice as the POTJ figure is.

For those looking for a decent Han Bespin to hold you over you can do the following.  Although not 100% accuarate it still looks pretty sweet.  Use the Endor Ultimate Battle Pack Han (I believe it is this one, although I did this a while back and it could be a different Han), Head Swap and use the soft goods from the POTF2 Leia Collection Han Bespin. After seeing, I believe that soft goods is definitely the way to go when they update. Throw a mynock mask and it is pretty close.

The elusive and mysterious "STAN" at RS has confirmed work on a Sailbarge is indeed underway. In planning stages but on the drawing board. This guys rumor record is somewhat questionable. I agree, I may have came off a bit facetious but he has had some solid rumors. I brought up his Sail Barge comment for that reason especially after seeing the revamped CC. I hope he is right. That (or any OOT vehicle for that matter) I would happily hand over my money for.

He also mentioned a redo on the CC pilot, Ozzel and take apart 3P0 including retaining the bendable knees.

I personally haven't lost faith in the new Slave One.  I bet we will see it at Toy Fair.  I recall Hasbro saying something in the past, it may have even been for a different line (Indiana Jones maybe), that it is a pretty safe bet that if something/someone comes out in the Galactic Heros line then it has a solid chance for coming out in the action figure line.

I really do not get the obsession with the Twilight. It has not been seen in a long time and is really not that great of a vehicle. Slave 1, AT-AT or Sailbarge are much more desirable and classic iconic choices. The animated **** is going to get enough love in 2010, the real mainline is getting the shaft so I lost a lot of love for anything animated.

You're certainly NOT crazy. I've been touting for years about wanting playsets that look like the movie scenes. I've posted here a few times my ideas for a modular Death Star playset. A Sail Barge would be a GREAT vehicle/playset all-in-one. I'd even be all for it having wheels (disguised of course) on the bottom to roll around and help make it have the appearance of floating. We don't really need a ton of detailing on the inside of it either with exception to room where Jabba is at. Most of the detailing can be on the outside which are very easily done as molded parts.

However, the PIT playset looks absolutely nothing like the actual PIT from the movie.  Hasbro took a completely different approach.

Anyways, I'd bet that a Sail Barge would be in higher demand and would sell through much faster.  But with Hasbro seemingly wanting to piss on collector targeted items for a while, I'd be surprised if they wanted to do something like this now.  Ugh.

You think seriously think an obscure vehicle from 25+ years ago would sell better than a vehicle/playset from a movie that just came out last year.  In light of the difficulty in selling Millenium Falcons, THE iconic vehicle from the 3 movies that came out over 25+ years ago?  Or selling AT-TE walkers and Turbo Tanks which are from a movie that is only 7 years old and current TV series. Seriously?

Well on good bit of news for the Sail Barge is that Hasbro does seem to want to make it.  Based on their previous comments.  I really think the only shot at it though is a re-release of the OT in the theatres or if it comes into play in the Clone Wars series or both somehow, someway.  Then again if they release the films they would probably focus on the same vehicles again - Falcon, X-Wings, Ties, etc.  I would hope they would finally get to some sort of Death Star playset(s) or environments.

I guess it would depend upon the price point.  If they ever made the Sail Barge it will be scaled down and probably alienate a lot of collectors.  Or the price would be so high that it would just go straight to the clearance aisle like the Falcon and AT-TE.  Although I think initially both sold pretty well around my area.  I don't see tons of these rotting on the shelves.  Then again I can find them easily.

Anyway, one of glimmer of hope is they could make it like the Cloud Car and cram in a whole bunch of weaponry on the Sail Barge.  I don't know it seems like a long shot but so was the Cloud Car.

If it weren't for Hasbro shifting away from a collector focus right now, I'd say that the chances of it happening are as good as any other large scale item (after the AT-AT).  Some sort of media support would surely help it out, but I don't think it's absolutely essential.  And in my neck of the woods, very few Falcons and AT-TE's ever hit clearance last year.  This year TRU has gotten more stock in and has had great sales that I'm sure they've worked out with Hasbro - and each time they have those sales, they sell through almost immediately.

Demand is certainly there for large items otherwise Hasbro wouldn't have even brought out anything again at the $100+ price point last year or this year.  The key is to make them appeal to both the kid and adult market I think, which can easily be achieved if they create items that resemble what we see on screen and can also figure out a way to make them more interactive for the younglings.  I'm sure we'll get a better idea of what Hasbro is planning in February.

Except that all those Falcons and Walkers were manfufactured last year...note the blue/white packaging.  I'd say sales aren't too hot

Must be why they went through and released the Turbo Tank then... and also decided to go with a $100 item in the Joe line, eh?  :D

I think if the Sail Barge were to be made, it's best chance would be as a result of it being HEAVILY featured in the live action Boba Fett-centered show that is supposedly coming in a year or two.

If you think about it - if the series is about Boba Fett and he spends some time working for Jabba, then sure, it's possible that Fett would repeatedly report back to Jabba aboard his Sail Barge (maybe).

Otherwise, as much as I would love to have one, I think there's very little chance this vehicle will ever see the light of day.

I think sales were decent enough but I really don't think they were spectacular as all three have seen deep clearance.  The fact there is still stock though over a year after they were made is not a good sign.  The chances of the Sailbarge happening is about as good as them making your playsets

Actually I think the Sail Barge is more likely than playsets given Hasbro is already making large vehicles.

That's exactly what I was thinking so hopefully the Barge will pop up in another year or three.  I'm sure Hasbro is going to want to kick off the new show with a big anchor....well hopefully.  Now where's that Stan guy again?   :)

If you've been watching the news lately, you've probably seen reports that Christmas shoppers are increasingly looking for bargain items this season.  And truthfully, if Hasbro wants big vehicles to sell, NOW is the time that they need to do that.  Unfortunately I continue to see more and more large vehicles just sitting at retail.  I had not seen Turbo Tanks at WalMart stores almost since their introduction over the summer.  But now that the holiday shopping season is here I am seeing them at WalMart, and they're sitting.  Not a good sign for the nation's number 1 toy retailer.

I want a Sail barge just as much, if not more than anyone.  I want a piece like that to anchor my ROTJ display and to put around my Sarlacc Pit.  But economically, the timing is not right.  A lot of collectors bailed when the economy went south.  And the Sail barge only had a fleeting moment in the Clone Wars movie.  Is that enough of a modern tie-in to justify a vehicle that's going to need this kind of tooling?  I kind of doubt it.  And the way the rumors and prototype images have been leaking out?  I think we would have heard something about a Sail barge by now.  The rumors were certainly flying about a big AT-AT, and that may have died a quiet death on it's own.

I wouldn't be surprised if a new ROTS Anakin Skywalker Jedi Knight/Sith Lord comes out in 2010 (w/ updated arms). Hasbro said in some Q/A (I don't remember which) that they felt it was time to upgrade their 2008 TAC sculpt.

Well, from what Stan is saying here and elsewhere, we may get the following:

Senate Duel Paply
Senate Duel Yoda
TPM Jar Jar
Ratts/Pod Racer?
Naboo Pilot
Tey How
Panaka
Some other TPM character

I'd be very happy with some of those.  If they're coming.

I'm gonna put in my assumptions by movie according to what Hasbro has hinted at/said/implied and what I think...

TPM - Darth Maul SA, Theed Battle Padme, Battle Droid
AOTC - Zam Wesell, Jango Fett
ROTS - Anakin Skywalker, Senate Duel Palp, Senate Duel Yoda
ANH - ?
ESB - Han Solo
ROTJ - Emperor Palpatine

I hope they do make a new Zam Wesell, Maul, and Emperor. Esspecially a new D. Maul!  ;D

We still need a definitive Darth Maul.  And I want a new Zam in a bad way.  That's a character that got shafted by the bad action features and static sculpts of the Saga collection and, for some unknown reason, has yet to be corrected.  Her and Bariss.

Oh, yeah, Cin Drallig - I'm pretty sure Hasbro said they would get around to him.

Thanks, Stan.  That list has some great possibilities on it.  They would all look great on vintage style cards (my bet for next year).

I would very much welcome "Senate Duel" versions of Yoda and Sidious. I also have been looking forward to a Cin Drallig figure for a while as well. Not too keen on another ROTS Anakin, I'm not sure where else they could go with him since the Mustafar Duel version is pretty good.

I hope the Zam Wessell features soft goods and is SA - if she is, put me down for multiples of her - I've had this speeder looking vehicle for about seven years now, that needs a pilot!  :-\

The ESB list looks great too - while I liked the OTC Cloud Car Pilot, getting that sculpt updated with even more articulation will be welcome, especially if the Cloud Car is hitting at the same time. The POTF2 Hoth Leia sculpt is okay, but it was evident that it needed to be updated when they threw it in that Comic Pack last year. I am eager to see what this mysterious "new" Han turns out to be. I bet the "Deck Officer" will be an modern update to the vintage Hoth Rebel Trooper which featured a tan vest.

I wonder how much of the line-up we'll see at Toy Fair?

A better crispy Vader would be nice with the Med Capsule, but I doubt that's where they're going with this one.

Those lists don't look too bad, if they hold true.  It sounded like there were supposed to be four waves of six figures each, so unless the remaining ones are the "greatest hits" repacks that Hasbro has mentioned, there are a couple more open slots still available as well.  With the ROTS Anakin, I thought in a previous Q and A (awhile back) they mentioned the previous Evolutions Anakin needed ball jointed elbows, which is the only major improvement I could see being made to that figure.  Really hoping that the Senate Duel Palps/Yoda is true, those are two that people have really been looking forward to I think.  I'm glad to see a possible Hoth Leia on the horizon (hoping for a Hoth Luke soon too), and I'm anxious to see what this Han will turn out to be as well.  The ROTJ wave looks nice too, even if it is resculpt heavy....they are all ones I've been hoping for (Wicket/Ackbar/Gam. Guard).

I think this new Han is going to be from the scene where he's wearing his Bespin pants and a parka which is open if I remember correctly.  I think it's when he's with Chewie repairing the Falcon.

There were some hints in one of the last Q&A sessions that sort of implied this.

According to the latest QnA aired during the SWAN podcast (http://www.swactionnews.com/) (#226), there is an all new R2/astromech sculpt coming next year.

"We are currently developing an all new astromech with some pretty nifty features in the line for late 2010"

No wonder they finally broke down and gave us a great R2-D2 with the RotS preview sculpt in the Resurgence of the Jedi BP.   :P

Hopefully whatever they come up with next will allow them to finally retire that VOTC R2 sculpt...

I wonder if they'll finally go in the swiss army knife direction with R2 at long last?  But it shouldn't prove too difficult.  Especially in light of how many features were included with the Clone Wars R2-D2.

I hope so.  I am tired of all the plain R2's with different coloring, etc.  Let's get some sensorscope, pop-up light saber, saws, rockets, sockets, etc going.  I know some of those features in the films piss people off but R2 needs to get a bit jazzed up.

Banthaskull.com (http://banthaskull.com/index.php/page/sub/new_dpci) got wind of some new Target DPCI numbers. At least a couple of these will spark some decent discussion. I can't wait to see that R/C Hailfire Droid.

Hmnn - some very interesting stuff in that list.  Return to the Vintage line will be great and I'm shocked at the price point.  I wonder if they are finally rereleasing the old vintage molds?

I think it implies at least two vehicles since they didn't actually name the vehicle, but remains to be seen how many they would produce.
