Other Collectibles / Re: Master Replicas Force FX Lightsabers

It sounds to me like we will definitely see an LE of Qui-Gon next year, and I'm guessing that an FX won't be too far behind!

Good points Pete_Fett.  The card thing is true.  I think what I'll basically do is just get the ones I really like, since I have this Master Replica addiction.   ;)

Other Collectibles / Re: Master Replicas: Mini-sabers

I try to stay away from all of the variants on the same saber as well.  I guess I did get he CIII Kenobi and Sidious Best buy exclusive, but those don't count.   :-[  The CIII was just cool, and the Sidious was the first .45 I purchased.  I didn't know anything about MR, but saw the saber at Best Buy, and thought, "Why not?  I'm sure this will be the only one I buy."  Famous last words!   :D

I don't think the .45 Sidious or Yoda have shipped yet, but I know the initial wave of Obi-Wan and Anakin sabers have already been sent out.  I received mine a few weeks ago (the Anakin saber is particularly impressive!).

As far as Grievous, the word is that as of right now, since he wields generic sabers, they may not do anything at MR for him.  However, money talks, and there is certainly a market for him, so I'm guessing something will come out eventually.   :)

No kidding!  I would recommend calling them whenever you get a chance, to make sure they have you registered properly.  Supposedly, they are getting everyone who registered for 2005 squared away in their system.  I sure hope so!

Hey jadesfire, what is your avatar picture?  I have always wondered.   :)

It seems appropriate that for my 100th post (Woo-Hoo!  Finally a blue saber!!) that I add a comment to the Master Replica thread.  Here is some infomration on the Luke Skywalker EE lightsaber from MR representative Amy:

I have some info on the Luke Elite! You will be getting an email about it by the end of the month, more than likely within the next week or two. There will only be 750 of these made and we expect that they will sell out within a matter of hours. There will be a couple of days in between the time you get the email and the time you get to order. This product will probably be shipping almost immediately upon order, at least for the first 300 low numbers. The other 450 will be shipping very shortly after.  The price is $525.00 with free shipping.

Very expensive, but what a piece this would be!  A bit rich for me, with the Yoda and Anakin ROTS sabers coming my way, but I can dream.   ;)

some of those 'geeks' were awfully cute....

Really?!  That is awesome!  Score another one for the geeks.   ;)

I'll be happy to "distract" the Beauties while you introduce yourself to the Geeks.   ;D

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Greivous' Cough?

Lucas supposedly had a little heavier interest in the CW from a personal perspective, and did a little more direction with it than other EU materials...  He's known to have liked the cartoons a lot and that's why he "allowed" them to introduce Grievous basically.

It's all EU though...  LFL's pretty strict that anything besides the film is EU and the rest is open to debate/discussion.  The beauty of that is imagination...  I feel other genres or licenses can sorta be too stifling to the minds of their fans.  The "this is how it is" mentality prevails.  Lucas though disagrees with EU stuff but basically says to just debate away on it as to whether it's the truth or not.

Thanks for the explanation Jesse James!  I figured as much, but wanted to make sure.   :)

I am so glad there is a thread for this!  Has anyone seen the R2 on Mustafar?  It is the exact same figure, except this one makes noises.  Big deal!  Hasbro has been doing this for years.  Don't get me wrong, i like them, but sometimes they are kind of silly.  For instance, what was really the diffrence with the 2 Yodas from ROTS?  A firing cannon?!  That wasn't even in the movie.

I would have to agree with Herbert on this (how about that  :o  ;)  ).  Maul had enough screen time to fit his role.  He was not a dynamic character, just an exciting screen presence.  While I am not a fanatic about all of the side villains in the Star Wars films, I don't dislike them either.  They all serve their purpose to tell the story, and while Maul was exciting in his own one-dimensional way, he did not have the charisma or panache of Count Dooku.  I think Maul's screen time was appropriate for what it was.

Yeah, hoping for my yoda saber to arrive soon as well, very anxious for it

Yes, does anyone know when the rest will be shipped?  I know that MR ships the first 300 right away, but the next wave should be out shortly, I would think.

According to Amy from MR, an Obi-Wan Episode III lightsaber will be offered by the end of the year!  Should be a nice edition, but still, I think a lot of us are waiting on a green saber.

I do think he is a cool character, to be sure.  However, don't the Clone Wars cartoons fall into the "Expanded Universe" category?  I believe so, but sometimes people act as if they are cannon.

Regardless, Grievous is the Alpha Vader, as previously stated.  I can't wait to see this movie again!

The girl that won the dance contest seemed pretty down to earth too, but that waitress (while nice) was clueless!  I still can't believe I watched it, but hey, hot chicks typically hold my attention.   ;D

Actually, I think Matt's assesment has more to do with quality. Because ESB was a quality film, it made the least money. Not to insult anyone, but the fact is is that people don't always like intellectualy films. They usually go to a movie to have a good time, not to get emotionaly bumbed out or have to think about what's going on. ANH was fun through and through, it was the ultimate crowd pleaser. ESB was a differnt experience, a darker one, that's why it didn't perform as well financially.

I can see that.  People are like sheep at times.  They like to be spoon fed with results.  I love that the ending of Empire was left wide open.  Is Vader really Luke's father, will Han Solo be rescued, does Luke really have a bionic hand (that's what we thought when we were kids   :D )?  Most people want the ending to be wrapped up in a nice little package, but I enjoy a little ambiguity now and then.
