Nice review JJ, sums it up quite nicely. He one of those characters/figure sculpts that make for a great background character for any Hanger, Outlander Club, Pod Race, Tatooine Street/Market, Jabba's Palace or Cantina diorama. A true army builder and a sweet base for a slew of custom figures.

Personally, I like both sets equally. R2-Q2 and R2-X2 are my favs and the happen to paint both their designs on the sweet astromech sculpt that has the working wheels and the middle leg retracted fully into the body.
It's tough to go wrong with either set.

I believe it is based on the 500th Vader only difference is the silver shoulder armor damage and the helmet is glued on. It is exactly the same as the #013 Hoth Vader again with the helmet dome glued on.
Oh, one more thing with the previous 2 releases you could take the cape off, but again since the dome is glue on, the elastic band won't fit over/around it so it's not really removable any longer.

To resolve the debate, I created the photoshop mockup (5 a.m. this morning) by cloning the Bacara pauldron and #41 antenna onto the #6 Shockie repaint, (I hadn't photographed the Skirmish of the Senate Battle Pack for the Yakface toyguide yet - but it's up now 
)
