Time to kick-off a thread for these too... again, UPC numbers thanks to Yakface (http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2016/09/01/3-75-rogue-one-figure2-pk-upcs/).
Wave 1:
630509 420063 – Pao vs Death Trooper
630509 420087 – Morrof vs Scarif Trooper Squad Leader
630509 455997 – Poe Dameron vs FO Snowtrooper
Wave 2:
630509 420070 – Baze Malbus vs Stormtrooper
630509 482801 – Seventh Sister vs Darth Maul
-
I posted image (http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2016/09/03/new-hasbro-deluxe-vs-pack-images/)s of the last two today
-
The figures look cool. But those accessories look...bizarre!
-
The Maul 2-pack looks incredible, for sure. They nailed both those characters. I'm not sure I like how they interpreted his giant explosive backpack though. The one I recall from the episode was more non-existy. :D
-
Yeah, you think maybe they could've done an exaggeration of the helicopter saber thing for an action accessory, but nope...gotta go blaster pack
If you have the Reaction Buffy you can have her fight Seventh Sister for that Sarah Michelle Gellar vs Sarah Michelle Gellar action.
-
A store near me had the whole assortment of 2-packs out today. I definitely liked the sets with Pao & the Deathtrooper and the Scarif Stormtrooper Squad Leader with Moroff. As for the Poe Dameron & FO Snowtrooper Officer? Man, that likeness on Poe is just bad.
Well, I got the sets with Pao & the Deathtrooper and the Scarif Stormtrooper Squad Leader with Moroff to the registers. I even tried self-checkout on those plus a 3.75" Black Series Emporer's Royal Guard. But when I scanned them there was an error message. And the clerk who helped me took them and said "These have been recalled".
Also erroneously on the pegs? 6" Black Series Jyn Erso, Hera's A-Wing, and whole bunch of R1 Hot Wheels.
-
How dare you attempt that?

-
My God you heartless bastard, think of the kids!! :D
Every time a SW fan tries to buy a Rogue One toy early, Babay Jesus cries. :'(
Seriously though, how much was the A-Wing?
-
The A-Wing is $29.99, I think... saw shelf tags a few days ago at a Walmart and I think that was the price.
-
I fully expected the possibility of getting shut down. I didn't even bother to argue, because it wasn't worth it. I can just go back to the same store on Friday.
I just found it annoying that they put that much new stock out without heeding the street date instructions on the cases.

I can relate!
Not so much with Rogue One product, but back in the Legacy era, I was losing my mind because two Walmart stores in my area kept putting out AT-TEs and other vehicles but would not sell them. They kept taking them from me at the register, then the next day, they'd be back on the shelves!
I did end up getting the AT-TE and Homing Spider droid early though thanks to manager overrides as she saw this happening and understood my frustration.
-
I think if it was something as cool as the AT-TE, I would've probably been in the same kind of mindset as you, CHEWIE. But for 5 POA figure 2-packs? There's a distinct dropoff in enthusiasm that directly correlates to the quality of the figures & toys that we're getting now.
-
I completely agree with you.

Anybody know if the Deathtrooper in the two pack is any different than the Deathtrooper that is carded on its own?

I don't think we've seen a basic 3.75" version picture yet... one is rumored to be coming, but no pics yet makes it hard to tell if/how different it is. ;)

Holy crap am I an idiot (hold your comments please)!! I had written down that there was a single carded 3.75" Deathtrooper. Apparently there isn't one. No wonder I can't find one at any Target. ::)
-
While the back-packs in these things are definitely a waste and overly clunky - there's not a figure I don't like out of the two Rogue One 2-packs - Moroff may actually be my favorite 3.75" figure we've gotten in the Rogue One line so far - either him or K-2SO - both are really well done and look really good in my opinion.
-
These were among the most difficult things to find... Nobody but TRU had them here. Target, Wally, and KM all just had old crap around, none of these. Very disappointing given the figures packed in both. :-\

These are also just found in Hudson Wisconsin and Cottage Grove Minnesota. The Cottage Grove Target have this dpci down to account of either one or two yesterday and then it spiked up today. Apparently a restock might be all it takes to get these in your target.
-
OH snap, now it's on...I want that Seventh Sister so bad!
-
As luck would have it, the Target closest to me showed a spike on this DPCI when I checked tonight, so I ventured out and sure enough they had 3 of this set still on the pegs when I got there. I grabbed the two with the best paint apps and thanked the toy gods for their generosity.
These might be my two favorite Rebels figures yet. Really exceptional. But a real bitch to keep standing!

It looks like Moroff might be the only two pack figure with a useful backpack. His backpack component looks similar to both the imagery in the trailer and the Micro Machines Figure.

Scored the Darth Maul/Seventh Sister and Baze Malbus/Stormtrooper sets yesterday. I haven't opened the Baze Malbus set yet, but the Maul/Seventh Sister one is pretty nice, would have preferred that they gave a bit more "bulk" to the Seventh Sister since we're probably never going to get her in plastic in any form ever again - she has very dainty legs and arms - she can barely hold her lightsaber and there are no peg holes in her feet so you can ensure that she will remain standing. Also she comes with that little probe thing she used in the show which is cool - but the "head" separates from its "legs" WAY TOO EASILY so that's definitely gonna be two pieces people lose.
The face shield fits snugly over her face, so that's good as does Maul's hood. That is one progression I think Hasbro is making strides in - hoods - between this hood piece for Maul and the hood that came with the kit-bash Kylo Ren - both work excellently and don't look over-bulky and because they are semi-rigid, they "lay" better on the figure than a cloth/soft-goods hood would.

EE put up a pre-order for Wave 3 of the 2-packs (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HSB7073C&id=JE-405087801) with a cryptic, seemlingly new set -
SW SWU LEAD HB TAN AND V TROOPER COMMAND
A little research shows the item number is B9855, which doesn't match an existing set that I can tell. SWU means it's not Rogue One, and could be Rebels related. Hmmm...

I would **** if it had one of the new Imperial/Mandalorian Super Commandos from Star Wars Rebels

The more I think about it, wasn't Finn (Jakku) called "Lead Hero Battler Tan" in the E7 code names? That would be Lead HB Tan...
Could it just be the Finn/FN-2199 (Traitor!) 2-pack from the TRU set by itself? Or maybe some other kind of Finn/Trooper set?

IIRC, I think that was Rey called that as well. But Finn would make sense (and be disappointing).
UPDATE: It will be Finn and Phasma ::)
-
That rumor was circulating for a while, and I finally saw that listing on BBTS for a Finn VS Phasma 2-pack (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HAS25260&mode=retail) earlier this morning.

Also shown on display at SDCC 2016 (http://news.toyark.com/2016/07/23/sdcc-2016-hasbro-star-wars-3-75-inch-scale-display-update-214984)

Wow, I managed to either completely not notice or remember that set/figures from SDCC. :P
Disappointing...
-
It seems pretty obvious that they are, but the Finn and Phasma are straight repacks right?

Same here. I think I noticed the text in that Toy Ark article around the time of SDCC, but the photos didn't jump out to me at all.

If they are, it's a terrible idea. The Finn Trooper costume would be a much better choice if this is what they wanted to do. Also the case assortment - 5X this set? - is just asking for trouble.

The pairings in the multipacks just seem poorly thought out, overall. At least in terms of any semblance of screen accuracy. Just look at some of this weirdness:
-A Finn and Phasma set should probably have included Finn in Stormtrooper armor, not Finn in the tan jacket with the lightsaber! And if it's Finn in the jacket? Then give him a blaster and/or a satchel of explosives.
The TRU 6-pack is one of the worst offenders.
-Rey & Kylo Ren should have probably included the maskless version of Kylo Ren, not the Armor Up version. Unless of course you're trying to represent Rey in her Force vision where she encounters the masked Kylo Ren in the snowy forest... and somehow I don't think that Hasbro was being that clever.
-The Finn & FN-2199 should have included the Skywalker lightsaber with Finn, since that's the weapon he uses in the Takodana fight.
-
I finally saw the new Finn VS Captain Phasma 2-pack in a store today. And just like my initial impressions, seeing these in person is kind of underwhelming. Aside from 2 different accessories (Phasma's rocket launcher and Finn's lightsaber) these are pretty much straight repacks. There's a slight paint variation on Finn's jacket, but it didn't seem significant enough to me to spend $15 on 2 5xPOA figures that I already have from multiple releases.

The way I heard it, these come from a new factory now, so there are slight difference in the mold versus a simple repaint. I typically go all-in on anything beyond slight paint adjustments, so I picked this one up. Haven't compared it to the original releases yet though.
-
Not sure if I just missed it or if it didn't come up at SWCO, but was there any word on the status of the Shoretrooper Captain & Bistan (https://www.jedidefender.com/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Conventions/Toy_Fair_2017/Hasbro/Star_Wars/Rogue_One_3.75-inch_Deluxe_2-Packs&image=hasbro_rogueone_375inch_2pack_catpain_bistan_boxed.jpg&img=&tt=) pack?
Lots of talk/worry that Wave 4 of the Rogue One 3.75" basic figures is going to be a bitch to find... makes me worry about this thing too. :-\
-
I've actually been thinking it'll be released as part of The Last Jedi first wave of 2 packs. That would probably make the most sense, we got a Poe and Snowtrooper with wave 1 of Rogue One, why not a Rogue One release as part of Last Jedi wave 1?
-
It's been about 3 months since we got the Phasma & Finn 2-pack. I would expect that within a month or so we'll start to see the next couple of sets like the Bistan & the Shoretrooper Captain 2-pack along with the Boba Fett & Bespin Han Solo set.
-
We're getting down to the end of April... other than this 2-pack and wave 4, there's nothing planned for the next five months right?
I'm starting to assume that TFA Luke we've all been waiting for is just going to be a TLJ Luke, which is crazy to me.
-
I've kind of forgotten about the Bistan 2-pack. Pegs are clogged that I rarely bother to check.

Nope, it's Marvel season, and even the GOTG figures have come and gone from retail. So that leaves the single case of Spidey Homecoming figures every store will get and then we're done until Force Friday.

I did see Target clearing out some of the 2-packs. That makes me think they might be trying to clear some of the older stock out.
-
So... About that Bistan figure.
That never showed up right?

Nope.
I don't think I ever saw it come from any of the usual Asian sellers. Or the Han Solo V Boba Fett set, either.

Fett (http://www.rebelscum.com/2017-Toy-Fair/Hasbro-2017-International-Toy-Fair-Star-Wars/image88.asp) - Han (http://www.rebelscum.com/2017-Toy-Fair/Hasbro-2017-International-Toy-Fair-Star-Wars/image90.asp)
Both were confirmed for "Fall 2017" so I don't think they were ever coming in the Rogue One packaging. There was a lot of confusion about them at Toy Fair since the 5POA was kind of an afterthought for most sites covering the show (compared to the 40AC carded 6" figures), but I believe it was confirmed at some point after the show they are supposed to be a 2-pack and not single releases.

Right... I remember now. I think I just kind of assumed those were repacks because we've got like 3 dozen of each of them over the years.

Nope, they both appear to be fresh sculpts...

"fresh"

EE has issued a press release for these that indicates they are indeed a US exclusive and limited in production:
"It does not appear that they are available anywhere else, nor are there plans to make them available anywhere else. Let your site visitors know! These are great items and are limited in production!"
Not trying to fear monger, just passing on the info direct from EE. ;)
