Title: Deluxe Series question
Post by: Crackbrick on September 6, 2011, 06:22 PM
I've been out quite a long time now and from what I've read about prices on these I doubt I'll be back anytime soon.
But out of curiosity, how many "Basic" series do you end up with in a Master case now?

With the new ratios DX series 4 would have 8 sets of the basic figures.

Actually if you get a master case (and don't get a dud) you'd have 7 full basic sets plus 5 extras and a chase.

Thanks guys.
So what do basic sets go for without chases?

I'm just curious to see the difference when we used to get MCs.

I think we could get at least 4 basic set to a MC back then, can't remember.

It really depends.  Series 1 and 2 only had one full set of 6 (if that) with lots of extra parts, so the basic sets go for more.  Hoth Leia and Amanaman were short packed AND chase boxes, so they command a little more money as well.

With S3 and S4, they have 2x of each figure and part, so a box with no chases nets you two BAFs and 2 basic sets.  Even if you get a chase, you still get the right BAF part, which is pretty nice.  I bought two boxes of S3 and sold my three extra basic sets for $80 each with free shipping.  I saw sets go earlier for about $100, and you can now buy them for maybe $65 plus shipping?  Having 2 of each figure really drives down the basic set prices.

Thanks so much for the info.  I appreciate it.  I wish these stayed in my price range.  I will always have a soft spot for Kubes.

Yeah, some of these prices are pretty tough to swallow.  I used to balk at the $100 chase figures, but I'm longing for those days when there were 3 chase per master case and the most you would ever spend on a rare chase was $125.   :-\
