Walmart 2022 TVC Clone Wars Micro Series
« on: July 21, 2021, 10:59 AM »

https://www.starwars.com/news/clone-wars-2d-micro-series-figures

- Aayla
- Luminara
- Bariss
- Fordo (Red re-issue)
- Fordo (Blue repaint)
- Battle Droid

Looks like mainly re-issues/repaints with some new/updated soft goods on the Jedi.

Nice!  I'm not in need of another battle droid, but I'll bite on the rest!

Sure would be nice if they’d sprinkle at least a few new things in there.  Apparently these days putting old stuff on TVC cards is all it takes to make money.

I see your point, Rob, especially for other completionists.  I missed out on some of these figures, so it's nice to get a second shot at them.  Also, looks like the Arc Troopers have removable helmets.

I love the style in Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars and the original 3.75" figures are some of my favorites.  I've had the Yoda on my desk for 15 years.

Its kinda fun that they're bringing these new styles out in the 6" line, but very weird that they're just reissuing non-stylized standard 3.75" figures with new card backs.

Do we know if pre-orders are happening tomorrow during Walmart's "Collector Con"?

The ARC Troopers are re-issue/repaint of VC54 figure, minus the 2nd Helmet/Pauldron.  Kind of a cheap move to drop those extra parts.

The photo real deco on these particular Jedi could either be great or a disaster - especially for Luminara and Barriss Offee.  I guess we'll have to wait and see?

I'm also wondering when the new, heavier cardstock is going to roll out?  What wave is it going to be the first that doesn't have ridiculously bendy cards?

Thanks Jeff.  I just looked at the pics from the original article you posted and didn't even try to look at the original release.

The issue is that the Sequels brought in a ton of new fans/collectors, many of which haven't been around for as long as we have been. So they never had a shot at the original figures, and they're happy to not have to pay $60+ on eBay for any of them.

Love that Fordo figure, and the blue repaint looks amazing. It's a shame they're all Walmart exclusives.

That 2nd Fordo helmet is not registering with me. Another hole in my collection that I didn't know about? ...And looks like it'll still be there since the accessories Jeff mentioned are MIA in the re-issue?  >:(

Lazy, kind of a dubious homage seeing as how the figures don’t look even remotely like the characters pictured on the card though. I mean, I get it, they were never going to make all new animated sculpts, but going halfway just feels like a tease.

Truth.

They’re doing a lot of this ****** little stuff lately.  The scout pistol from the gaming greats figures...  kinda shocked the RFT in the Tantive set had all his stuff to be honest.

Apparently these just went live.  I can't find them on the Walmart site but the Yakface IG has them in their link tree.  The clones and Aayla were already sold out by the time I got there.  I can't wait for them to all be back in stock at different times so I have to pay shipping on each one...

Yeah, I was busy at the time they dropped.  Nice that they don't have more "in stock" for preorders, you know to judge demand.  Whatever.  ::)
