Saga Collection '06 / Re: TSC Recent Purchases

Neat story to share. Out hunting and found no Cody's but parts of Coruscant wave. Anyway, they also had 2 Scorches and 6 Utapau Clones.  As I was pulilng some UGH figures for a fellow collector, a mom came around and was looking. I offered to help and suggested some figures and she said that her son had those (she was looking for a b-day party for her son).  Anyway, I said kids like clones and she said, yeah, that's ture and took a Utapau Clone. I then reached up and pulled a Scorch out from the behind the figures and said, here is a clone from a video game called . . . and she said cool and took the figure.
Nice to hook up a kid with a figure made for a kid.

Well, be grateful that you are all seeing the Coruscant wave. It hasn't hit in Utah yet at either Target or Walmarts, despite hitting all around us. Guess its our turn to be last.
I'll be glad to get the 2 Cody's, Foul and the Obi Wan and Anakin (my son wants Obi Wan and Anakin and 1 Cody).

TV-9D9 / Re: Live Action Show Based Around OT?

(KP International) It has been announced to the joy of Star Wars fans everywhere that George Lucas's world of Jedi knights and wookies will live on in a 100-episode TV series.

The 'Star Wars' movie series ended with last year's prequel 'Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.' That's just where the series will begin, following Luke Skywalker and other beloved characters growing up, as well as the rise of Darth Vader's evil Empire.

The series will attempt to fill in the blanks of the 20-year span between Episodes III and IV.

Don't expect to see any familiar faces from the galaxy far far away, though. The only castmember currently scheduled to appear in the series is Anthony Daniels, who plays C3PO.

"We're very excited we just got confirmation George Lucas has committed himself to writing the 'Star Wars' TV series. I guess this is the news all fans have been waiting to hear," said series producer Rick McCullum. "Hopefully if we can make it work and everybodys excited and watches it we will keep on going.

Taken fro mSympatico/MSN Entertainment from a link on Galatic Hunter.

I have to say that I am somewhat worried about George writing for the show. His dialogues are not the best in the world, and I think in TV people want more than "O h n o  t h e y a r e c o m i n g t h r o u g h."  as we got in  New Hope or in the love scene in Ep. III. For the most part charaters drive the tv shows, not big wang special effects. I think that is one of the reaons why ST TNG did so well, good story lines, good character development.  Perfect no, but the dialogue never got in the way of the story,
I'm not sure I see this going a 100 episodes. Hopefully I am wrong. Thoughts?

I am sure someone buys each Vader that comes out regardless.  To be honest he actually does sell.  Hell I have not seen a Hoth Vader on the pegs yet.  Every kid in the world that's into Star Wars (which apparently is a lot now) wants a Vader badly I am sure.  I think after ROTS Hasbro realizes they can make some mula throwing out a Vader of any sort out there for the masses and SOMEONE will buy it no matter what version it is.

But yeah, it would be nice if they would put the most superior figure of each character.  I just assume they have plenty of the other versions sitting around to repackage and that is why we see those repackaged instead.

But no I don't buy them all.  I would not see them making a full sized hologram Vader for something different.

Well out and about on Saturday, a grandmother asked me if I could help her and she wanted a Luke, Darth Vader and a Han for her grandson. She bought a Yoda because it had a Darth
Vader holo.  So Vader is extremely popular with the kids and he doesn't stay on the pegs long either.

The Saga wave that hit after AOTC did this same thing. By June or July it was all out, and many collectors felt that they had been screwed because they never got everything. The Clone Wars hit and they were hard to find unless you hunted in the am.  Finally that fall, the OTC hit and 90% of it was rehashes from the Saga wave earlier that year and everyone got what they wanted. Expect the same here and you need to realize that the number of case variations out there I think ensure that we'll see figures hitting for awhile. Summer may be hard, very hard, but come fall, be sure that Hasbro will flood the pegs for the holidays and that GL will have some stuff out by then to cause excitement in the line.

Great story and great finds. Wish it would happen here.

I'll go to Home Depot and get the materials and build one for a lot cheaper than either, and have the satisfacation that I put it together myself.

I have to state that I hunt very successfully (usually) and can find what I want. However, the hunt this year is getting old. I have the Cody wave on order with NewForce (if I don't find em before then) and I have 1 R5 D4 on order with BBTS (and I don't mind paying extra for it).  Other than needing 2 Cody, 1 Firefighter, 1 Foul, 1 Obi and Anakin for my son, and 1 R4 D4 I don't really see that I want any figures other than the VOTC. So because of that, and because of prices and gas prices, my days of active hunting are over I believe.  That and I am backing off on this line after Cody. That's alot of business lost for them since I hunt for myself and about 6 to 8 others.

No Coruscant here in Utah. Our Walmarts all got mutiple cases of the Wave 2.5 (Genosis) with 1 Ut. Clone and 1 Scorch in each case. Clones and Scorches were cleaned out by 11pm. I got 2 Scorch's and 2 Clones and then got a Clone for a fellow collector.

Man, I wish it had been the Cody wave . . .  now we the waiting begins to clean out the rest of this Genosis Wave.

Actually, I think it is GREAT news if Hasbro is really having problems making figures right now! I am ready for a break! Waves were hitting fast and hard, which kept the hunt going and though fun, the hunt is tiring at times. Now I hope I can breath before the next wave!

I can attest that all WM's/Targets have got the Geo wave shipped twice already. Since they've 'flew' off the shelves more or less the first couple of shipments I dread the upcoming case revisions.......pegwarming central on it's way ::)

I know our local Targets and Wallys have had more than 2 shipments, and the TRU's got 1 shipment with about 10 cases (so equal to what Wally and Target have put out.

I have to agree that I sometime in the near future people will complain of "pegwarmers" that are clogging up the pegs and stopping new product from being put out when the case revisions start to arrive.
