I'm only interested in the two astrodroids from these sets, so if anyone has extras, I'll be happy to take them.  Thanks and Happy New Year guys!

Noticed that they are also moving the start time up - that's got to be a good thing, a show of confidence on the part of CN.

Maybe they ran all the lamesness because they were working so hard on getting the coolness right on these new eps?

I didn't particularly cae for the ep., but I did like Ahsoka's hovering Chi up so she wouldn't be caught.  I was at first confused why Ahsoka gave up to the Nemoudians at the end, but then realized that she probably Jedi-sensed their confusion and lack of direct threat towards her and the blue girls.  After all, they didn't start shooting at her or anything, and it was very wise of her to rely on old-school Jedi diplomacy instead of just cutting everyone on the ship in half, the way Anakin probably would have.  Not that that wouldn't have been cool.

Yeah, they should have gone with a trooper, but choosing K-3PO over an unmade droid is just weird.  It does nothing to get collectors interested in this set like an unmade character would have.  There's even a dark gray 3PO unit in the hangar that they could have gone.  Bad choice, Hasbro.

A nice place to test the waters would be to paint up a bunch of existing BAD molds in CW deco as an exclusive set or something.  Droids are kind of a transient between realistic and animated, anyway.

Re:  3rd K-3PO in like 3 years.

I'll agree with you guys that think that another army builder rebel trooper should have gone in here, but would also like to point out that there are a lot of cool droids that have never been done that could have replaced K-3PO as well.  There's at least one unique Gonk droid (bottles on the sides), and 5 distinct astromech droids (red R2, black stripe R4, Yellow & black R2, yellow & gray R3, orange R2), that were all in the hangar and have never been made and would certainly been a bigger boost to sales than that overdone white 3PO.  Heck, they could have even repacked the multi-armed treadwell in the set since that was in the hangar as well, and while not new, is still more interesting than having extra K-3POs roaming around.

Totally hyped over Grizz and the bat helmet guy, totally bummed that Hasbro went all EU on the droids.  I'll still take the droids, but wish they would have went with the one Grizz actually used in the battle, and one that actually appeared onscreen someplace for the other one.  Still, pretty decent looking set.  Grizz and bat helmet are must haves.

Well, I'm probably what you'd consider a pretty hard core astrdroid collector, and I haven't gotten this set yet, so if anyone has picked it up and wants to unload the droid, drop me a line.  I don't have any interest in another Slave (biggerish or not), have enough JSFs, and don't do any of the animated line except for the droids.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Q&A Sessions

Is it possible to attach a photo to a question sent in in a Q&A?

I keep coming up with questions about characters (okay, astrodroids) that don't have names, and are seldom pictured anywhere but on my own webpage.  Without a pic, I'm sure Hasbro would have no idea what I'm talking about.

It's especially insulting since they just did a dozen new ones for the BAD line, plus all those that came out in the DF 2-packs.  At least the CW ones are in a different line, but I really wish they would have gotten their stuff together on this 2 years ago.

We should have seen this coming since they finally did the uber-R2 with brush silver dome in the R4-G9 mold that everyone had been begging for.

Collecterstation has a Q&A in which Hasbro says that the upcoming R2 will be significantly smaller in size than the past astromechs mold, smaller even than the BAD molds.  I'm guessing the same size as the CW astros.  They say that this is more in scale, and will be this size going forward.

I am not happy because now any new droids will look ridic against the old, for example an eventual R5-A7 will look totally out of place alongside the other droids that have been released from the Queen's starship.  This also means that due to having to tool up additional dome molds, we are back to square one with only R2's out for te next few years, followed by R5s, and then R4s, and maybe R3's 6 years from now.  Not happy.

It amazes me that these finished, ready to sell figures can continually pop up on ebay before Hasbro can be bothered to get around and announce them.  They must have green-lighted this figure like a year ago.

You've got to be right.  Boba is supposed to be back next season, and Bossk as well.

Are Boba and Bossk really supposed to be back? I don't recall hearing this bit of news.

It'd be cool if they broke out of prison and took Cato Parasitti with them. She's too cool to only be in one episode. ;)

I did read that Boba is going to be back.  I thought Bossk was as well, but now I can't find anything specific mentioning him.

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Questions for Hasbro?

When previously asked about new CW astrodroids such as R7-A7, R6-H5, or R7-F5, you have invariably replied that they are "collector" figures which you are avoiding in the line.  Yet we continue to get their Jedi's fighters, and, being repaints, they must be relatively inexpensive to produce.  Please tell us what you have planned for the empty droid slots on our Y-Wings & Jedi Fighters!

Wouldn't mind the Bossk for my focus on the character...  If anyone doesn't want theirs because they think he's lame, hit me up.  Otherwise I'm not shedding any tears over passing on this one. :)

Would've loved to have bought Boba for the fodder too, but I'll live.

I wouldn't worry - I'm willing to bet that the only figure that will end up being "exclusive" to this set is Mace Windu's astromech. Otherwise, I find it hard to believe that by 2012, both Bossk and Boba won't have been repackaged as individually carded figures. Or possibly even made available as pack-ins with the mini-rigs line.

You've got to be right.  Boba is supposed to be back next season, and Bossk as well.  R8-B7 got his head popped off in that episode, so almost certainly won't be back.  Also, unlike Anakin, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, or Kit, Mace obviuosly has no affection for his droid whatsoever, and probably just pulls one randomly from the "droid pool" whenever he needs one.  Though I do hope R2 points out where R8's parts are so that they get salvaged before they evacuate the planet.
