I believe I can see this in one of the Toy Fair preview pics, but you really can't tell that much about it. Assuming I'm not just seeing things it is the RotS design.

Judging by the early ToyFare pics, it appears that it is an EP3 fighter with a purple color scheme similar to Mace Windu's. Count me in on this one. :)

Me too... I've become a fan of the ship's sculpt since I found it to be to-scale when I got it on clearance so I'm all for repaints of it. I don't get why Kit's is purple like Mace's though but whatever.

As much as I like that Ep3 ship, I'll pass and save my $20 to spend on more basic figures.

That is true, they don't usually show exclusives there... the toy Fair report that the purple one is Kit's could certainly be wrong. Would make sence that the purple one at Toy Fair is Mace's which will be everywhere along with Vaders TIE and Anakin's ship. Guess we still need to wait and see...

yeah, once we get a half-assed Mace Windu figure it'll be a fun ship to put him in. :)
I like it, it looks nice... Little bummed not to have a good loose droid for it though, as I'm not a big fan of always displaying it with the droid inside, but I think the ship is quite nice whoever it may belong to.
Kit's will be welcome to if it's coming and is the ROTS sculpt. The AOTC fighter lacked a bit to me due to the action feature but the ROTS one is spot-on so I'm all for the reuse of this beast.

yeah, that's the McQuarrie A-Wing paint design...
Due to blue-screen processes in filmmaking at the time, anything "blue" was omitted from production and the A-Wing became red... That's why "Blue Squadron" was nixed from the film but showed up in the novel and radio dramas actually.
The Blue A-Wing is a beauty though and since it'd be cheapity cheap for Hasbro to make I'm all for it. The sculpt isn't totally accurate to McQuarrie's drawing however, but I'd actually prefer the film accurate sculpt of the toy with the unique paintjob.
The Green A-Wing was one of my favs from the past, a Blue A-Wing that actually had some "history" to where it came from would be all the better to me.
That Falcon I was wondering what was up with it's paint... That's the YT-1300 Freighter from E3 then? Weird (I refuse to call it the Falcon regardless of Lucas's thoughts ;) I hate coincidences).

According to the Official Site, this ship and Vader's TIE should not be exclusives and they should just be mixed into the $20 vehicle assortment with re-released Anakin's Jedi Startfiguter and the Grievous Wheel Bike thingy.

Windu's fighter looks pretty spiffy. It'd be great if we got a full astromech for him too, just because. I'd dig a purple astromech anyway.

Yeah, Windu had the purple fighter in the Clone Wars Volume 2 opener (the battle of Coruscant is where he flew it). Didn't have it long before it was blasted down.
Still, it's pretty cool despite being EU. I'd say one of my fav ships in the modern line is the green Target A-Wing actually. That was just a great paintjob on a sculpt that was as good today as it was in 1985.

I rather like it myself. I think the ship design is pretty sweet overall and as long as they make these things in cool colors, I buy one. I passed on both of Anakin's ships, picked up both of Obi-Wan's, and I will this one too once it's out. :)
I'll also take a black Darth Vader one. 8)

That is kind of sad. :( As of right now, I'm planning on using the Mace from Jedi High Council set.

Should be out soon (I don't know for sure) - probably in time for the Fall set which is sometime in June.
And no, there are no pack in figures - if there were, the price point would be closer to $30 like the TRU exclusive Starfighters.

I do not have all the Mace (s) out there but I have about 4 of them and only the jedi council one with flexible skirt and bendable knees fits into Anakin/Obi-Wan's starfighters.

Hmm...I think that you're only option is to either commision a custom Mace or make one...

Does anyone actually find it surprising that despite there being a Mace Windu JSF coming out, there will (apparently) be no Mace Windu figure currently available at retail to pilot it? Hasbro, by and large, have a history in recent memory of making ships that have no corresponding pilot figure available to sit in them.
Just take a look at the list:
-Anakin's JSF (Clone Wars): CW Anakin Pilot will not fit
-Plo Koon's JSF (ROTS): ROTS Plo Koon won't fit without the skirt being cut
-Anakin's JSF (ROTS): ROTS Anakin #2 will fit, but not well
-Obi-Wan's JSF (ROTS): Obi-Wan Pilot came out 4-6 months after the ship
-Grievous' Wheel Bike: It even comes with a Grievous and that one doesn't fit
And lest we forget the pinnacle of non-figure interactions, that being the AOTC/Saga 2002 Anakin and Zam Wesell Airspeeders, neither of which could hold their respective pilots available at that time.
At the very least it looks as if the Darth Vader JSF, EU it may be, will have a Vader at retail who can sit in it (the Hoth/Cloud City/500th version), but with an AAT coming out, I have to wonder where the Battle Droids and/or the Super Battle Droids are to pilot and man it are at. Sure, the BDs have never been really fast sellers, but to put out a vehicle with no troops to man it is ridiculous.
I'm hoping that this whole "Mace's Squadron" thing at least comes with a Mace who can sit down, but knowing Hasbro, it'll be the ROTS version again, meaning a lot of kids or more recently beginning collectors won't have anybody to sit in the cockpit of the JSF. ::)

I noticed that there is a new little "Star Wars TSC Product Catalog" that was included in the latest Unleashed figures I picked up this past weekend (the WM Exclusive ones). They did have the Mace Windu JSF pictured in there, but no word on when this is being released.

I wonder why it says Revenge Of The Sith in the corner of the package? It should say Expanded Universe or Clone Wars. Nonetheless, I'll still pick it up.

Although its just a repaint, I might pick this one up as well. I just really like the Jedi Starfighter ship in general, and depending on what else is hitting when this comes out, I hope to pick this one up as well.

Well, sadly, I think these will be hitting before October. I mean, think about it. Tatooine has been out for almost 2 weeks now. I'm expecting Endor to hit a little before Comic-Con, if the TSC shipping patterns don't change. Then Naboo will be hitting around late August. And don't forget the next 2 H&V waves.
Well, since these naboo/endor pics are being released the SAME DAY as the Mace vehicle/BP pics, I think they will come out around the same time: August. And, the battle pack WILL NOT PEGWARM. Unlike past BP's, this one is loaded with awesome clones that everyone will buy.
Not like I'm trying to burst your bubble or anything, just informing you.

I picked this ship up in a minnesota Target today- and it does show a Mace in the cockpit on the back graphics with a pilot head-gear set up. It just doesn't come with the ship. Maybe it is on its' way...
It is now the official Jedi Starfighter of the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately, the ship has about the same odds of winning the superbowl as the team.

What's the case packout like, Anton? Is it all Vader TIEs and Mace's JSF, or did Hasbro do the inevitable and pack in Grievous' Wheel Bike again?
Also, even though this isn't the thread for it, is the new paint/plastic job on the Vader TIE worth upgrading from the POTF2 version? The few photos I'd seen online made it look more grayish and "dirty" than the POTF2 solid blue, and I was debating on picking it up to replace the old one.

The Skirmish set warmed & that had 2 Shocks & a pod. :P

I think the pod, as a selling point, didn't outweigh the negatives to blowing $20 for 2 shocktroopers unfortunately.

Scored this last night. Altogether pretty cool. But the astromech decals didn't fit very well.

Vader's TIE that is shipping along with the Mace SF is really worth mentioning. For a repaint, I'm really happy with it. There's a nice weathered paint wash to the body along with silver metallic pain nicks on both the fuselage and wings. It's an improvement over the original ones by quite a lot.

I'm still coming up short when it comes to finding either Mace's JSF or Vader's TIE. Target has removed the 19.99 price point vehicle label from the shelves completely, and TRU is so overrun with Anakin and Obi-Wan JSFs from ROTS that there isn't room for any new stuff on the shelves. It sucks that Wal-Mart doesn't seem to be carrying any non-figure items for the 3.75 inch line these days, because whenever I've had to rely on Target as my sole retail option, it's always been a pain. :(

So, is Mace's fighter a tough find so far? I found one a few weeks ago at Target (and picked it up), and I don't think I've seen a single one at any store since then. Our WM isn't carrying vehicles at all, but all I have seen at Target and TRU has been the Anakin/Obi-Wan fighters, Wheelbike, etc. I've also seen Darth Vader's TIE at Target, but that has also gone. Just curious if anyone else was seeing this being fairly tough to find at this point or not.

We must just be behind a bit here then, which wouldn't surprise me. The Endor wave is still just trickling in too, so maybe more of these are still on the way. Just curious if it was selling that well, or if it was just a regional thing.

I'm in a simmilar situation Brian where Endor isn't even trickling in (I haven't talked to anyone locally who has seen it recently I don't believe), and the Mace fighter is a trickle at best though someone did score one the other day... It's high on my list. I'm not a vehicle fan from Hasbro mostly but the JSF's are pretty flawless pieces in the line.

Just wondering if everyone else has the same issue with the boxes I have...My Mace box has in indention near the upper middle and my Vader's Tie box has a buldge in the same area...I've noticed the same issue with others I've seen at Taret as well.

It might just be the placement in the case- my box has a good corner ding, but the middle of the box seems untouched. Maybe the one next to Vader takes a crease from something bulging in his (there's something PG-13 about that sentence).

I've noticed more than a few items in the SW section at my local Target having heavily damaged boxes over the course of the last few weeks, and the Mace JSF and Vader TIE are just two of them. The Vader TIE I got there's box was almost completely crushed in on the back (luckily the ship was okay), and their case of the UL Hoth Snowspeeder and Turret sets was almost completely trashed.
That said, excellent decision on Hasbro's part to reship the already saturated Anakin and Obi-Wan JSFs in the case with the Vader TIEs and the Mace JSF. I'd bet someone a pickle that they reship those two JSFs again this fall with the AAT and Hailfire Droid because it would just be too logical not to do so.
Um yeah, I've seen the Vader TIE twice and Mace's JSF twice (once at Target and once, believe it or not, at Wal-Mart), and I bought one of each. They're nowhere near shelfwarming here, but it's mainly because the Anakin and Obi-Wan JSFs are already doing so. :P

Nor here, and I wanted the Mace fighter badly but I'm really concerned now due to the exact problem you mentioned Dr.P... Whole lotta Obi/Ani... Whole notta Mace/Vader. :-\
What would've been great, and this is maybe just my opinion but I think it is true, is if they'd released the blue and green painted JSF's from TRU last year, but no figure/spiffy package.
I missed those and would LOVE to have them in my collection, and they still have some legs to move at retail... The yellow/red paintjobs are dead in the water though and were in 2005 after their oversaturation at that point... Was pointless to put them back in circulation to begin with really when they were still available in ROTS packaging at some stores.

Agreed - the green/white and blue/white starfighters were very cool looking.
That's a good idea - maybe add / remove some battle damage to make them a little different from their previous release.

I guess I am in a lucky area ship-wise because several of my local Targets have goobs of these ships. I counted 5 Mace fighters and 3 Vader TIEs at one last night. I have yet to buy either. I have 2 POTF2 Vader ones so I am good but I may pick up Mace's, just to have my all inclusive rainbow jedi squad.

I've seen multiple occurances of both the Mace Starfighter and the Vader TIE. I've resisted so far on both.

Like Jesse mentioned previously, this style of Starfighter is one of my favourite from the prequels, so I'm looking forward to grabbing Mace Windu's. Assuming I find it, of course.

It is a good looking ship open too- The R2 is a little wanky, but I like that ship style and it is an eye catching deco. It really sits nice next to the CW gunship.

I've yet to see this, and am a little concerned... It's been out a while for it not to have shown at all. I haven't seen Vader's fighter either which shipped with it but should've (in theory) sold less rapidly... I hope I find a Mace Fighter soon though, I don't want to miss out on it and have to resort to begging like usual.
