Kubricks / Re: Deluxe Series 4 - Death Star

Uncle Owen and the Hoth Rebel Trooper were both the cheaper of the two chases from DX2 and DX3. I guess I'm hoping the 2nd chase of DX4 is a bit cooler than the Imperial Commander.

So he'll be the Uncle Owen/Hoth Rebel Trooper of this series then. If I can get him cheap I will but I'm not going to go out of my way.

I don't know if I've posted it before, but people who don't understand the right of way.  And I don't mean people cutting me off...I mean people who think they're being nice by yeilding their own right of way.  I get it all the time here...waving me out to go first at a four way stop, waiting to turn off of a main road so I can enter it first, waiting to enter a roundabout when I'm still half a block away...sweet lord, the roundabouts.

You're not being nice...you're making the road confusing and unsafe for both of us.
Well said!  This bugs the crap out of me too.  The entire idea of right-of-way is so that drivers will be able to predict who will do what in a given situation.  Those who take it when it isn't theirs are just a touch worse than those that yield it when they shouldn't.

The yielders yield when they don't have to because of people who take the right of way when they shouldn't. The yielders lack driving confidence and would rather let everyone go first so they can clear the field for their own manoeuvre.

I already walk into people who don't move and call them dicks if they stop dead in front of me. I'm lucky I don't live in America as I would probably have been shot numerous times by now and no NHS to take out the bullets!

Love Yoda's expression "One step too far marketing has gone"

I've read those stories and recommend them as they're just as good as the ASoIaF series. I believe the fourth story is being published this year although I could be wrong.

Kubricks / Re: General Kubrick Chat (both SW and others)

Yeah the first six months of last year we had a good set of releases which we knew about in 2010. The second half of 2011 had almost nothing. So based on the way Medicom announce and then release we could have a good second half of 2012. Naturally we'll get carded figures at the shows as that is almost standard now.

In terms of Kubrick releases from Medicom last year we didn't get much. Star Wars for example got 5 carded figures and DX3. No box sets or 400% figs. We didn't fair too well on none SW stuff either. The first half of the year was good as we got Iron Man and Toy Story sets and a few others I forget. However after DX3 we got Real Steel and not much else. Now here we are in January and no kubs on the horizon except DX4. Even if this months update yields more kub releases we'll no doubt have to wait a few months before we get them. I guess what I'm saying is I believe Medicom are scaling back their Kubrick series and focusing on bearbricks and other "art" based items that are cheaper to make.

Here is one of those Oscar style a year in the death of retrospect's courtesy of the BBC. It's a little UK-centric but I think there is enough for none British JD members to appreciate (if that's the right word to use). Apologises in advance if it's one of those UK only pages on the BBC's website
