Title: Red eye Vader case

I was watching Poltergeist last night and noticed that the kids had a Darth Vader case with red eyes. I only have the all black version. Is this version rare? Which one came out first? Any history on this case?

So its the pop of a display? It does look pretty thin to be an actual case.
