Has anyone found the Mission Series figures?  My Target didn't have pegs for them (and didn't have the figures either)?

No, by all accounts they have not been released yet. I was at K-Mart today and they had shelf tags for these (DSN 2-pack $14.99) so hopefully they show up soon.

I tore into this wave late last night before falling into a stupor. There were some surprises to me. You think you know what it going to appeal to you but sometimes in hand your opinions change.

Finn is very well done, good sculpt, good paint apps, but ultimately it is a pretty boring figure. Next to Chewie he seemed to draw the least interest last night. I shudder to think about them carrying this guy forward into later waves. The Stormtrooper would be a much better choice.

Chewie is about as expected. Was more exciting the first time around.

Kylo Ren is nice, paint apps around the visor seem to vary, but mine is ok. Unfortunately he has a wonky right foot that seems stuck downward. I'm glad in restrospect I got a couple of these so I can swap him out for a better version. The soft goods work well on mine, but he's not one of the more interesting figures to me somehow.

The FO Stormtrooper is cool, I like the design and all, and the two guns, but the plastic on certain parts of the armor feels cheap and flimsy to me. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but if you hold him in hand next to a regular Stormtrooper you will see the difference.

The unexpected star of the wave for me was Rey and BB8 though. I felt like this would be a boring figure beforehand but mine is really beautiful, I mean they dead nailed the paint apps on the face. It's a great effort. I just wish they had included her headscarf. BB-8 came out very well too, at least IMO. Yeah they could have tweaked a few things with the paint wash and whatnot, but I like the final product. Sturdier than I expected.

All in all, a very solid first wave, the next one looks even better. Hope we get back to the non-TFA figs before too too long though.

Seriously? The dead Inquisitor we are never going to see again? Not either of the two new ones for the upcoming season?

Weak sauce, Hasbro.

I hit a nearby Target right at opening this morning and was able to pick up 2 more FO Stormtroopers and went ahead and got another Kylo to use the $10 off coupon. (Will return the one I got last night)

I did see Poe's X-Wing there, which was totally MIA last night, so that was cool. No sign of the TIE Fighter, big or little. Still no Mission Series.

I plan to hit K-Mart at lunch today because that's the only place I've even seen tags for the 2-packs. Worth a shot, every place else has been a bust so far.

Amidst all the hustle and bustle of MM, one of the surprising bright spots for me was finding the oh-so elusive Deputy Rick exclusive at Walmart, finally.

So happy I held out and did not resort to the secondary market. The collection is now complete again.  ;D

Ugh....long night. Target was a big letdown. Couldn't find enough product to use either coupon. And I was one of the first in line! They had everything split in two sections and all mine had that I wanted was the Kanan scout Bomber and a lone 6" Kylo Ren. Better than nothing though.

Next stop was Walmart and got Finn, Rey, and Chewie. Finally hit TRU after that and they were totally wiped out.  :(

I stopped at two more Walmarts on the way home and found 2 6" Stormtroopers, so I did end up managing to complete the wave. Good way to top off the night.

Never saw any sign of the big TIE or the Mission Series 2-packs...bummed about that.

Fun to hang out with friends but not nearly as much variety as I expected to see. And TRU and Target woefully under stocked for the demand.

Off to bed!

I am a bit concerned about the Big TIE too...have not heard or seen any confirmation from earlier time zones, and I've been looking.

Looks like that long rumored Walgreens exclusive isn't likely to show up either. And I'm hearing there might not be an exclusive TRU blue trooper at every location yet either. Could have to scale back expectations.

At any rate, I am headed out in about 30 minutes to do a few preemptive Walmart runs on the way to Target. I hope everyone finds what they are looking for tonight and there is no ugliness on display. Happy hunting!  ;D

I saw Rey's speeder at Walmart on the way home from work, and a smattering of less interesting stuff, but I didn't even bother to try checking out. No more snacking before the feast!

New leaked pics of Poe, Phasma, and the Snowtrooper look tight.

But that Guavian Enforcer is ten tons of awesome sauce! I'm getting at least 3 of those guys. Badass.

This just in from New Zealand...where MM is in full swing right now:

NO SA figures

NO surprise SW toys that have not already been leaked in the past few weeks

NO indication what the TRU exclusive is exactly, still (seriously, are we really gonna have to wait til 12:01am to know what this thing is?)

Hopefully we get better news in the hours to come from other countries. UK in particular should be a good indicator.

FWIW, I chatted up a manager of the local MM Target today at lunch, and she told me they would be closing at 11pm and re-opening at midnight. Then they will be closing again at 2am. All the stuff is going to be located in the rear seasonal section at the farthest corner of the store, where the back to school stuff is chilling now.

I asked if they would be admitting people in groups or let them bust through all at once, but she wasn't sure. She mentioned the possibility of letting people queue up in the store though, which sounds like potentially even more of a clusterF.

Good luck guys!

If you show the Cook and the Hitchhiker, you have to make the Cook and Hitchhiker.  ;)

I'll be getting this for sure.

I finally figured out an itinerary for tomorrow night. Looks like I wll be meeting up with a couple of friends and hitting Target first, then TRU, then a Walmart and Walgreens, and maybe 3 more Walmarts after that if I still have gaps to fill.

I just feel like the line at TRU is more likely to be nuts, the Target thing seems to be flying under the radar a little bit. One of my peeps has assured me that a friend of his at TRU will hold a few of the exclusive Blue Troopers for us so we won't be in danger of missing out. Fingers crossed.

I sure hope I can get everything I want that night early and not have to run around in the wee hours. Work is going to be rough the next day...

Let's go Krogering!  ;D

I hit the mother lode last night at the grocery store of all places. I guess Kroger don't play that Walmart nonsense with cockblocking you at the register.

Picked up everything they had in 3&3/4" scale. (There was no 6" stuff sadly) They seemed to be complete cases, I ended up with:

2x Assault Walker w/Stormtrooper Sergeant
2x Elite Speeder Bike w/Stormtrooper (Spec Forces)
8x Armor Series figures
12x Basic Figures

The Class I stuff was $19.99, the Armor guys $12.99 and the basic figures were $7.99. The best part was though, that they had a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale going on for everything, even the vehicles. I had to get a manager to help apply them at the register, which was a bit of a hassle, but they had absolutely no qualms about selling them to me. I even ended up getting 3 of the basic figures for free because of some snafu.

All told I ended up with $279.76 (plus tax) worth of toys for $177.86 (plus tax). Not a bad night's work.

The nutty thing is - I don't even want any of this stuff. Literally. I got them for 2 friends I am planning on meeting up with for MM. Figured I would save them some work.

I plan to go out hunting for the 6" guys today at Walmart and K-Mart. Anything I can grab before tomorrow night would be a plus.

Better, for sure. That fat nerd is like the uber-mensch of the apocalypse. Or zombie-whisperer. or whatever. He's smarter than every other character put together right now. (Why did he leave his food behind at the school though?)

I kept wondering why didn't the chick's boyfriend tell anyone how he got bitten?

It is always infuriating when characters on TV shows fail to share pertinent information with each other that would be blurted out instantly in real life. English Teacher Guy doesn't feel like mentioning to anyone that the dead are coming back to life now? Even when his ex-wife asks him point blank what he knows? "Ive seen what it can do, and what it can't..." very cryptic and dramatic and all that but how about just sharing some details? Oy vey!
