Revenge of the Sith / Re: Holo Yoda?
« on: April 12, 2005, 06:31 PM »
In the UK you had to buy 2 figures to get a Holo yoda.  Needless to say they disappeared almost immediately.  I could not go to MM as I was unwell but fortunately the offer was available online (very briefly) so I was able to get 2 clones for an "army" and a Holo Yoda  :)

Mine is of the Tenth Doctor.

It's a shame about Nine, because he has been brilliant in the new series.

I don't know too many of his songs, but The Saga Begins is just SO funny!

"But their respone, it didn't thrill us....they locked the doors and tried to kill us"  ;D

I know it's pretty lame to post in a thread like this when you only know one of the guy's famous tracks, but there you go....I just think that song so great.

It's a shame that it's several times more entertaining than the movie itself  ::)

My 15th vintage figure - a 65bk Palitoy Chief Chirpa. One of these cost my dad £1.35 in 1983...in 2005 I had to pay £26  ::)

On my test I lucked out...got reversing around a corner and the 3 point turn.  To this day, 10 years later, I am still crap at Parallel parking.

Episode 1 / Re: Nostaliga?
« on: February 13, 2005, 04:40 PM »
My Episode One figures are the ones I’ll feel the worst about selling when I get around to leaving the modern collecting scene.  They are all in Star Cases on my wall and to me they’re the best-looking series.

They’re nostalgic for me too.  I think it’s because they were released after I had spent 2 years in the adult world (having left Uni) and all that rushing around trying to find .0000 US carded plastic toys made me feel young again.

Greetings,

I only just got Gamling in the mail on Friday, but it was the Canadian packaging so there wasn’t any character bio info on the back.  Could someone post what’s printed on the US cardback, or perhaps provide a link to a photo of the text?

Many thanks  :)

I don't really do boys  ;), but these two were dumped outside my local petstore with the label: "both one year old" on the box.

I have a sticker on my forehead which reads "I am a sucker, leave your unwanted rodents here".  Hence:

Viggo:

and Obi:

I didn't need the extra hassle, but like I said, I'm an idiot.  My 6 girls got themselves a new cage (worth £240) so they're pretty happy with the deal.

I think I have all the albums by U2 and Simple Minds, plus most of their CD singles.

Sony Network HD Walkman 20 GB

(Because all my music is on CD so I can use Sony's ATRAC format to store my stuff, which sounds amazing bitrate for bitrate compared to mp3.  If you are happy with mp3 or already have lots of them, the iPod is the better option, but if you will only be recording from CD, want top quality at high compression and you want the smallest HDD player out there at the moment, then go for the Sony).

Watto's Junk Yard / Got a job today!
« on: December 20, 2004, 12:59 PM »
I can’t believe it yet, but this afternoon I managed to get a new job as an IT tutor!

I’ve been doing the job as agency work since November, but today they gave me the permanent position.

The interview process was a bloody nightmare. First there was the 30min IT test (in which I apparently top-scored), then the was the 5 min presentation on the IF function in excel in which I kept dropping my overhead projector transparencies, and finally there was the formal interview with the College Principal, the head of IT, the head of human resources and my boss!

Never go for an interview for a post in Further Education   ;)

So I’m feeling pretty happy right now   ;D
Rob.

Yep, there is indeed a 12-disc set.  It's the same discs that came with the individual EEs, but there's a slip case to store them all. There's no extra footage as far as i can tell.

LJ is one of my favourite scummers, but all this Bertha business takes me back to my childhood  ;D :
