Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Sony PlayStation 3
« on: January 30, 2010, 02:30 PM »
Bought NFS: Shift and MW2 last Saturday. I'm really into NFS: Shift, awesome game and finally it's about racing again.

I also started MW2 and played a bit online with fellow SW fan blaster_e11. I'm really not good at FPS online, but we played a couple of fun 2-player coop rounds.

I also bought GT for PSP. But I'm really looking forward to GT5 for the PS3. That's gonna be one helluva ride!

Feedback / Re: Jim's (pka rebeltrader) feedback

Bought some more figs from Jim. Due to circumstances beyond his control shipping was delayed, but they arrived early in the new year and again, all was well. Well packed, great looking figures for a great price. Thanks again, Jim!

Well, now I know what happened to Charlie. I wonder how that shape shifter will adapt to being Charlie. I mean, he's got a wife, a job at the FBI...

Hm, if there's Nazis involved...... Indy's your man  ;D

I'm glad the last season of Lost starts only 3 days after it begins over there in the US!

Charlie's dead then? We just had that episode with the firestarting twin sisters  ;)

Shadows of the Dark Side / Re: AT-AT
« on: January 11, 2010, 07:09 AM »
I never had the AT-AT when I was a kid, but my nephew did. I still remember it as an awesome toy. Yes, compared to the latest vehicles it sorely lacks in detail and correct looks, but it's still the same old Kenner AT-AT from back then.

I'd gladly welcome a new, bigger, more correct AT-AT. I won't be surprised if it'll cost 150 euros here in Europe though (roughly $210)  :o

Just like with my Octuptarra Droids, I think I'll call in the help of my fellow US SW fans, because despite the high shipping costs, I'd still safe money compared to the European prices.

But first, let's see if this dream of ours comes true  ;)

Vintage Kenner / Re: Want to Laugh Hard?
« on: January 7, 2010, 02:39 AM »
;D I really feel for those Yakfaces, vinyl caped Jawas and Blue Snags who do end up being sold for 75 cts., just because some ignorant, naive, old lady doesn't know any better and just wants to clear out the attic.

The Vintage Collection / Re: Big Items of the Future!
« on: January 5, 2010, 07:23 AM »
Let's hope it's something most of us collectors will enjoy, and that the kiddos will too!

Aren't we all still kids?  ;D

What Daigo_Bah shows, doesn't look bad at all, but if Hasbro decides to redo the behemoth of Hoth, I'd still prefer a retooled head as well. The vintage/POTF2 one looks fat compared to the real thing  ;)

Amazon has the new edition for $35... great price if you haven't already got it. I'm waiting for the DLC to hit the PSN, as well. You know it'll be there, eventually. Meanwhile, I've gotten a handful of trophies - sort of fun replaying the game. Finally got the alternate ending - now that was neat.

I'm replaying TFU at the moment as well. I keep telling myself "30 minutes, that's it", but often I loose track of time and end up playing for 2.5 hours or so  ;D The trophies are a nice touch, but not really my kind of thing.

The Legacy Collection / Re: They owe us a decent yoda figure
« on: December 27, 2009, 12:53 PM »
Just buy this one. I don't know if you wanted a prequel or OT version, but I think this one is much better than the Vintage OTC version.

Really? That Yoda's probably the most evil looking one ever made. Furthermore, The post POTF2 Yodas all suffer from deflated head syndrome.

If you're looking for an excellent OT Yoda figure, look for the vintage one Kenner made. Or you could take the POTF2 Yoda head and stick it on the VOTC body, because that one has some damn fine soft goods.

Check out this thread at RS as well.

I wish I could see it but we've boycotted James Cameron movies since seeing Titanic.

;D Well, that's only the first you'll have to boycot then (after Titanic).

I saw it last night, in 3D. I didn't get frontal headaches, like with Ice Age 3D. So that's a good thing. The story is indeed pretty straight forward, but just like a pr0n movie, that's irrelevant. It's all about the effects, baby! And Cameron has really raised the bar on that level. Damn! Stunning detail and design all the way! The 3D adds to that, but not much. I dunno, I think I'll grow tired of jellyfish floating in front of you pretty soon.

Personally, this one is my fourth favourite Cameron movie, True Lies and Tita-.... er.... Aliens, T2 and T1 claiming the top 3 spots.

Brent, those are some pretty awesome shots, my man! I myself have an Olympus E410 with 14-42mm and 45-150mm kit lenses, of which I use the former 80% of the time. A couple of months ago I bought an Olympus FL-50 flash and let me tell ya, that's been a very, very useful investment. I also have a tri-pod on the way.

Back to your shots.... Alaska looks awesome! The waterfalls however, could've been more interesting had you used a slower shutter speed  ;)

Here´s some shots I made a while ago (clickable thumbs):

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: 3D movies?

Quick Question...I want to see Avatar in 3D, but I wear glasses.  Normally, I stay away from 3D stuff, but with this one I'm curious.  So, are the 3D glasses going to fit over my regular glasses?  What's a guy to do?

Yeah they fit over your glasses, but with Ice Age 3 I had to support the damn 3D glasses with my finger, because it kept sliding down my nose. And it was heavy as hell. Maybe that's why I got that headache; I'm wearing glasses and wearing other glasses over them could cause it...
