Not anymore, it's not...

That's some Sandtroopers-level stuff right there.

Bravo.

Yeah, I was pretty much expecting that, though I thought it might just be at the other place.  I've deleted my post so as not to upset/excite/fuel anyone else.  You're right though, I should've just PM'd that preliminary fussy stuff to the folks who asked me to fill 'em in on my Hasbro chat(s) at C7 this weekend, rather than posting it publicly, especially after throwing a few back after the con last night.  I attribute it to 5 years of bottled up convention angst towards Hasbro, and forgetting that I don't "report" this stuff for JD anymore, and that it doesn't matter that I've had a different (actual) relationship with many of the Hasbro reps in the past.  I was just popping back in here again to mention the specific details of the rest of our chats, along with other info from talking with Disney about their droids, and from Hot Wheels (the new MicroMachine/Action Fleet company), and even a little GG, but I'll shut up with my incessant (and redundantly whiny) yapping.  If you hadn't noticed, I've always sucked at complacency.  I sometimes forget that it's supposed to be embarrassing to act like we actually care about any of this stuff here on a Star Wars toy forum - aside from articulation, of course.  That always gets a free pass.  Plus, I don't want to fall into a tie for last-place on the depth charts.

Apologies for the fright!  I shall return to my carbon-freeze hibernation mode.  Probably safer for all that way...  ;)

No one ever showed.  Pretty disappointed in you guys!  Last JD reunion I ever attend, you bunch of flakes!

The hot wings were still pretty tasty though...

New parts coming to Disney BAD...

Ah, crap!  I haven't finished up the old ones yet.  I sure hope they don't swap all the old ones out for the new, or I'm in deep Bantha doo-doo...

With 3 new carded droids coming now too, I'm getting mildly nervous that this (exclusive) line's going to continue on for quite some time.  Not that I don't love me some astromechs (who doesn't?), but oy!!  Not to mention these things aren't available outside of Disneyland, like they are at WDW.  Sure wish they still had the "shopping pass" out here.  That thing was a godsend during all the Star Tours figures!

Does anyone know if this is for sale at the Lego booth/play area, or is it only at the Celebration store?  Any limits on it?  I can't find boo for specific details on it anywhere...

I will stick with Tilted Kilt I guess.

I've only been there once myself, but that's a perfectly fine substitute, no doubt.

Getting a little concerned about attendance here though.  I'm going to look pretty stupid sitting in Hooters with my SW shirt on waving a big red Clippers dong, while eating hot wings and drinking a pitcher by myself.  Whole lotta talk in this thread a couple years ago about this weekend, so at least one of you tools better be flying in!  Don't make me have to go to Applebee's with my wife!  You won't like me if I have to go to Applebee's with my wife...  >:(

Check your PMs, Pete.  I'm grabbing one for myself, but if they allow you to buy two, I'll get you hooked up...

Hooters is still open somewhere?  ???

Indeed.  Looks like you'll have to drive about 170 miles to your nearest one in WV though.  Sorry, Jess.

Anaheim Hooters (right next to Angels stadium), just a couple miles down Katella from C7!  An easy (drunken?) walk back to the hotel...

Say, about 7:30pm?  I might even still have my Hooters gift card that Ryan sent me in our Secret Santa exchange nearly a decade ago, if I didn't lose it in the move.  I'll definitely be expecting JD giftbags again too!  I'll be the one in the pink sweater, with a big yellow Lakers red Clippers dong, but you already knew that.   :-*

We should all make a point of going to Celebration VII and then ignoring the Celebration part and just party together.  I'd be down for that...

Probably would be a lot more fun.  No exclusives to wait on even.

In.  Do I still need a press pass?

In.  I even have a super special shirt I'll wear for him....... ;)

:D  Let's do this.  :D

OK, so I'm heading 45 minutes down the freeway to C7 tomorrow.  I assume we're still on for this big reunion, right?  I trust we're meeting at the Anaheim Hooters...  What time?   :-*

Since I can’t edit the damned Birthday Thread title anymore, and since there’s only one thing that annually trumps New Year’s in the Star Wars collecting community, especially this year, it’s time we start a thread honoring the momentous occasion of the 40th anniversary of the birth of the creator of ICMG, the architect of Hoth Han’s blue jacket (or is it brown?), the discoverer of Greg(g); and celebrating our love affair with one Ol’ Cocky Bastard, JD’s heart and soul, 4 decades of OCB, and the official welcoming of Scott to the OLD fart’s club (pka “The Canadians”)...

Happy 40th Birthday, Scott!  Without getting too sappy, thanks for the friendship, memories, laughter, knowledge, generosity and fun for the past… oh hell, however long it’s been now.  But most of all, thanks for two of my all-time favorite Star Wars figures.  My collection would be forever incomplete without you being the beacon of light guiding Hasbro through their oft gloomy tunnel of darkness.

Now hopefully Dale or Nathan can dig up the dancing monkets, llamas, bananas, etc for the special occasion...

For my old Wildcats buddy...

I'm not collecting 6", but I noticed last week that our local Walmart's already clearancing out a couple 6" stragglers, including ROTS Obi and Greedo for $12/ea.

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: The Black Series 3.75" - Wave 6
« on: November 23, 2014, 01:57 AM »
After having never seen a single Starkiller or Malgus during their previous TVC run, I've now seen at least 10 Starkillers and 5 Malgus this week in the new blue TBS wave between several Targets and TRUs nearby.  Crazy.  I kinda wish the paint apps were identical to their TVC run, so I could skip needing to backtrack for their TVC openers.  Oh well.  Probably close enough for most (normal) folks though, fortunately.  Tons of the rest of this wave everywhere I've been lately as well (R5, Luke, Vader, Yoda).  When it rains, it pours, I guess.  Hopefully this pleasant (shocking) uptick in distribution lasts for a while, 'cause the past couple of years have been absolute ****...
