From that RS site...
"Rumored 2008 product...
024297 - $19.99 SW Marvel Legends 2pc (Is this just in the wrong category or might this be the articulated larger scale that folks have been wondering about for years now? Time will tell.)"
Wow. I was just looking at the Conan Legends 2 pack. Those things are articulated like crazy. Maybe Hasbro will use the first Marvel Comics to make some larger scale SW figures. Hopefully, they'll use a realistic paintjob! Who first? Luke and Vader?
-
I have a baaaad feeling about this...
-
I would have thought Hasbro had learned their lesson about different scales other than 3.75" in the Star Wars line.
-
If they do indeed introduce a new scale, I'll be okay with that since I can pass due to the scale change.
However, what if the "SW" in the item doesn't refer to "Star Wars" but instead "Secret Wars" - there was a Marvel Secret Wars toy line back in the 80s and a Secret Wars limited comic book series (10 issues I think, maybe more) - what if they are going to release the same number of two-packs as there were issues of the series and have the Marvel Legends equivalent of the Star Wars/GI Joe Comic 2-packs?
Just a thought...
-
I'll pass for sure. But, if they are really well done, then they might do ok... I'm talking about exceptional quality here though... or else I'm sure they'd bomb.
-
Secret Wars makes more sense.
Don't they already have most of the tooling?

Well if it's Secret Wars then yes, the only nostalgia would be that it came with reprints of the old Marvel comic with possibly repaints of existing Marvel Legends characters.
I'm not sure when the series of comic books came out, but since I remember reading it in either 5th or 6th grade (which for me is '83 and '84) I wonder if they have something planned for a 25th Anniversary Tribute to the Secret Wars comic series. It was a great series, it was the first big Marvel heroes/villians cross over series that I was ever familiar with, featuring characters from the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Iron Man, Hulk & Spiderman books all facing off on an alien world if I remember right. I'm pretty sure it's also the first appearance of the Black Suited Spiderman.
-
1984 and yes, it was the first appearance of Black Spidey.
I'd say you hit the nail on the head with this prediction.
-
Secret Wars....hmm, you might have something there.
-
Or they're going to make a 4" Beyonder figure....if they stretch it out to Secret Wars II.
