Well of the Souls / Re: Indy 4 Toy Question
« on: December 17, 2005, 02:00 AM »
I'd buy a 3.75" line of Indy figures but I'd prefer if there were some figs thrown in from the first three films and it not just be an Indy 4 line.

I would also love to see a 12" version of Indy done by SideShow but I don't need a whole line.  The 12" Japan fig that came out a few years ago (was that Toys McCoy?) was insane...and expensive.  But'd I'd shell out $50 on a SS version.  There are just so many cool items that could be packed in, or customized, in 1:6 that you just couldn't do well in 1:18th.

But, as AE said, if Hasbro did it we'd probably get a bunch of action features and goofy things that wouldn't sell well.

A while back I was researching some info on Hasbro and in one of their annual reports I think I recall Indy being mentioned in Lucasfilm properties that they'd have access to.  Nothing specific was mentioned, just the licensing.  Since LFL and Hasbro have such a close relationship over SW it's almost a given that Hasbro would have first shot at any new Indy product.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Marauder Inc.

Wow, that's some amazing work!  I'm eyeing up that 12 pack of AK-47's to outfit my Cobra soldiers from last years TRU 6-pack.  That's a way better deal than customizing or tracking down Hasbro released stuff on eBay.

I could also think of a few situations where that Samurai sword and M41A Pulse Rifle could come in handy.  Thanks for pointing these out!

Was that Quentin all cut up on the bed with "I can't stop" written above him?  I couldn't tell, it went by so fast.  I know I'm gonna be glued to my set next Tuesday.

I couldn't tell either.  I thought it was but I'm not positive.  Just 7 days!!!

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: RS deletes accounts
« on: December 12, 2005, 09:44 PM »
Awww, I go on vacation for a few days and miss all the bashing on my favorite RS forum rat, MisterKenobi.

All by himself he could be the poster child for all the things everyone dislikes about the RS forums these days.  He's a prime example of a guy that believes post count = experience and respect.

I'm surprised though that nobody brought up his Wuhrers thread about what he could do to make sure his relationship with his wife (fiance, girlfriend or whatever she is) keeps it's "spark."  People actually gave him some good advice.  It might have been Cable that told him to have a date night or something to that effect.

He frowned on that because it was too expensive to hire a sitter and buy movie tickets, blah, blah, blah.  I've been temped to toss that out when he's getting down on people, especially when he posts things like he did today.  In the ROTS threads he was pissed that Target was clearancing out their exclusive star cases because he bought 16 packs at the original $10 price.

That would have bought a couple "date nights."  Guess his wife/gf/fiance just isn't that important....

Okay, I've been reading this thread and have a couple things to toss out there.

Last week at the end of the show Matt was with his new girlfriend stealing papers from the office.  I doubt he went and snagged Kimber and then made it there to steal records.

I haven't thought up to this point that the Carver is Matt, Christian, Sean, Julia, Kimber or Gina.  Until the British cop got carved I thought maybe her but, definitely not now.  I don't think it's going to be some obscure person from one of the first 2 seasons that's been dealt with already like Bobolit or Sean's old mentor.

I like Quentin as the carver just because of how shady he is but that's such an obvious choice that I'd be surprised, but not shocked, if it turned out to be him.

But after all the reading I did in this thread and all the good points I see being made, there's one person that I've been thinking of for a while that you guys haven't named;  Ava.

She's tall, strong and slim.  She was married to a plastic surgeon and would probably know all about drugs and possibly even have access to them.  She has a beef with both Christian and Sean now because of what they did to her.

Even though Sean did the last operation she needed, she disappeared without much of a trace...but we don't know that she actually left.

She'd have had access to business cards from McNamara/Troy and, again because of her former husband, might know her way around a knife...where she could and couldn't cut to do damage without killing.

Also there have been both male and female victims.  Being a tranny would put her in the position of harboring hatred of both sexes.

So, there you have my thoughts on it.  Hopefully we'll find out this season though.

And can I just say, the bag scene last night...pure genius.  Never in a million years did I expect to see THAT on TV.

I agree Eric, I like BBTS a lot...  Good company and they really have been a great stop for military toys too.  They practically put Small Blue Planet out of business I think (given SBP's track record at times though it's no wonder really).

SBP had a terrible rep for way overcharging on items.  And they weren't speedy shippers either.  I think I only ordered from them, maybe, one time back when they were blowing out some 1:6 21st figures.  Matter of fact, I think they may have been SBP exclusives but they were cleaning them out for like $5 a pop.

Anyway, companies like BBTS definitely had to eat into their business with fast, cheap shipping and offering some of the same items.  There have been some other on-line toy companies that have gone out of business that I was sad to see go but SBP wasn't one of them.

On a happier note, I'd also recommend killertoys.com.  I ordered some of my GG busts and Maquettes from there and they had good service, shipping and prices.  They're usually my secon stop after BBTS.

That's awesome.  BBTS.com is one of my first stops anytime I'm looking for something, especially if it's an Asian toy like Kubricks and whatnot.  He had to raise shipping when things got expensive this year but up till then it was $4.95 flat rate, you can't beat that!

I'm almost going to miss that Greenday101/yaddle character.  He inspired three CC.com top 10 lists I did.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What do you buy at the Movie Snack Counter?
« on: October 4, 2005, 10:38 AM »
I realize concessions are the way theaters make money, but they're just too expensive.

I agree with you.  The theater here in Ithaca, NY kind of sucks.  Small seats, mediocre screens and terrible sound.  $8.75 for a movie (it's $6 and change for a matinee).

This summer I went to the movies to see something and I went by myself.  I had  a craving for popcorn so I ordered a medium tub and a bottled water...$9.50.  I almost **** myself.  I was pissed.  Walked into the theater and in less than 5 minute dropped $20.

That was the first time in 4 years I'd bought anything from the concession stand and, needless to say, it's the last time I ever will.

I sort of wasn't paying attention but in last nights episode, when Mike was saying goodbye to the young Walt, was that a polar bear he pulled out of the bag?  Because, if so, that's the second time we've seen polar bears associated with Walt.  The first being in the comic book on the island.

And I also believe that the people that Jin ran into were the people from the tail section, not the Others.  I read a short article about it because of the actresses that's coming on the show...Michelle Rodriguez.  Supposedly the tail section people didn't get along as well as the rest of the survivors.

Yeah, Kris Benson's wife, he's a starting pitcher here for the NY Mets.  If you ask me, I think she's seriously overrated to the point of being annoying.

Yeah, but she's still hot.  I liked the interview she did where she said that if Kris ever cheated on her she'd sleep with the entire Mets roster.

I bet guys on that team were sending hookers to his hotel room all over the US after that.  ;)

I've seen the UPN show Veronica Mars only about 3 times...but it only took the first 5 minutes to know that Kristen Bell is a Grade A Hottie:

Since Time Warner refuses to add UPN to the local cable network, I'm anxiously awaiting the DVD release of season 1 to get my fix...

« on: August 25, 2005, 02:55 PM »
Capital Telecommunications, Inc. (CTI) in York, PA.  Worst company ever.

It was fine for about the first year then the owner lost his mind.  When you got to work in the morning you never knew if he was going to be:

"George, the cool boss that buys a round at the bar and loans you money because he heard your mom was sick"

or

"GVK, the bipolar schitzophrenic who would yell and swear at you while hopping up and down inventing reasons to hate you."

I gutted it out for about a year and a half after everything went sideways.  I used to go through a huge bottle Rolaids every month during the last year there.  Then I quit and worked at Lowe's for the summer before moving back to NY.  It's been 4 years since I left CTI and I haven't touched a Rolaids since then.
