Thanks OCB,

I took a POTF2 Slave Leia, removed all pieces for better working.

Head: I cut down the hairpiece and sculptered new hair and a neck piece with those spikes on the back.

Body: Dremeled down the bikini and put a new layer of sculpey over the front part and sculpter a new chest and belly armor

Hip: I dremeled away the back part of the skirt and did a lot of holes into the front part, looks like its ripped apart and pretty old.

Arms: Cut them at the elbows and repositioned them to match the image. Then I sculptered on the sleeves.

Legs: Dremeled down the boots, sculpteren on new ones.

Her eyes are red and yellow, otherwise, it kicks Curto's attempt to the curb.

Excellent work.

Thanks again to all !!! ;D ;D

Makes me feel good that you all like it, and I definatly stay in the scene for a while

Fettish, I took this one as refernece for the face deco. The eyes look white to me

I lost my train(wreck) of thought. Curto had her eyes as orange and yellow.

Her eyes are green, with a pink outer ring, then a black inner ring.

Whoever made that reference pic is way off, she doesn't have those..face hemmeroids either.  :-XEdit: I see it was the good ol' E.U. artists at sw.com! Figures.

If you ever decide to, you can do the eye detail with a paint pen. If ya make another, LMK, I;d love to have one accompany my loose Jango's.

Scooby, I can't wait to see you do a custom on Rozatta.  That should at least be an easier one to customize than Komari Vosa was.  Are you planning on doing all the characters from Bounty Hunter?  If so, I can't wait to see some Bando Goras (spelling?) done.

AWESOME WORK!
Title: Re: Komari Vosa !!
Post by: Real Scooby on July 7, 2003, 02:40 PM
Thanks for the info JF, maybe I could still add those color rings to the eyes. Have to sleep over it  ;D

As for the sketch, actually that a original Lucasarts design sketch that also can be seen and unlocked via the game.

dustrho, I dont know how many figures I might make. After Rozatta,  I īll try my luck on Montross and maybe a Longo Twoguns. Only time will tell.  ;D ;D

Try a Bando Gora as well. Those would be super easy to do.

I said this over at Scum too Scoob, but it bares saying here...

Great figure.  I feel the hair is the nicest part IMO.

The figure is very accurate to her in the game...  Great work.

I think, as much as it dismays some, I'd have not given her the old "underguchies".  Something about the character and her personality screamed "****" to me...  That plus the animation kind of gave an impression that they were hiding anything under that "skirt".

Some feel "nuce" figures are detrimental to the hobby, but her character seems like the type...  I'd have maybe given a silky type of skirt piece too, not sure.  I like fabric on figures though, and others don't, so that's a preferance thing more...

Good sculpting where you had to, for sure.

She was a unique character in the game (I just finished it) and definately translates to a great figure.

The Roz figure should be great I'd think...  I want to use an E2 Watto for her though, since he can "fly".  Gonna be a lot of resculpting anyway I think...

I present to you SINTAS, a female Bounty Hunter. She appeared in the story
"Outbid but never Outgunned" featured in TALES # 7
She shares a special secret with Boba Fett, but I wont spoil it here for everyone that dont know the story.

As already explained, I have chosen a SAGA Padme Arena Battle for working.

First I disassembled the figure and removed the action-feature.

Then I started sculpting.

Body:
I resculptered the action festure arm joint and decited to make a one-pose wonder out of the figure. I "repaired" the Nexudamaged shirt, and sculptered a backpack.

Hip and Legs:
I removed the small holster and sculptered a lot of pouches and thingys to the belt all the way around. Then I did two new ( not working ) holsters to the legs and finished with some kneepads.

Arms:
I dremeled away the bicepsbands on both, removed the white color on the left arm and finished both with some added gloves.

Head:
I cut Padmes hairpices and sculptered on some new. I sculpted a hairtail and glued it on.

Blaster:
I couldnīt find a existing blaster that comes close to the comicimages. So I just gave her a spare Jango Fett blaster I had and painted it black. Looks good IMO, since ( if the would be working ) it would fit into the holsters too.

And now the pictures.

Thats nearly the same angle as her first comic image, ( a little blurry, I am definatly NO photographer )

thats beyond A work.

oh and a comparisson pic would be good too.. i'll try to find one
Title: Montross !!!
Post by: Real Scooby on August 21, 2003, 03:17 PM
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my latest, my 4th, work. Before your very eyes you will see...

MONTROSS, as he apeared in the PSX2 hitgame "Bounty Hunter"

Some importent notes first.

1)
The final figure will be slightly different than the game figure, because I used the "Design Sketches" for reference. Most noticable will be the different shoulder armor.

2)
Also the figure will have another paint deco than Montross has in the comicstory "Jango Fett : Open Season". Just in case you only know Montross from the comic

WORK DESCRIPTION:

This is my first figure, where I took parts from several different figures, 5 in total.

Head :
I used Deluxe Mace Windus head. I added some shortcut hair. I will also give him a removeable Helmet from Jango Fett - Kamino Escape. Painting was a little pain here. The first try, I gave him eyebrows the same color as the hair.
BAD MISTAKE, he looked like he would be some kindergarten friend of Yoda  :D  I changed the brows to black and now he looks a little, maniac IMO, just as he should.

Body :
Jango Fett - Kamino Escape. I added some belt and something that looks like a carry-harness for a jetpack. I also repainted the jetpack and slightly modified it so the cape would fit better.

Arms :
Hardest work. I am sure it would have worked pretty easier somehow, but I used both pairs of arms from Jango Fett - Kamino Escape and Luke Dagobath.
I cut the Jango arms right after the gauntlets. Then I cut the Luke arms right before the elbow. I clued the Luke upperarms with the correct Jango forearms. I did that because I wanted to use the bare biceps of Luke.
When dried I sculpted some bands to the gauntlets. I looks like they are mounted to some bandages.
Then I sculptered the above mentioned shoulders. In the game it looks like Montross doesnīt use some armor pad, just some short jumpsuit sleeves. In the design sketches he has some furry shoulderpad. I simply liked that

Belt:
I took apart a Djas Puhr. The complete belt just looks right and also adds the working holsters. I resculpted the buckle to s small skull. I than added some thin leather bands.

Hips and Legs:
Since already disassembled I took the Djas Puhr Legs and added some sculpered bandages and armor pieces where needed.

Cape:
Count Dookus cape is just perfect. I "destroyed", repainted it and made it looking really beaten. I also had to cut out a piece so it would fit over the modiefied jetpack.

Accessoires:
I simply repainted Jango Fett - Kamino Escapeīs  helmet. I am not exactly sure, but I think the helmet never appeared in the game. I think the color sheme works pretty good.
I also gave him a Djas Puhr blaster in on holster and a SAGA style imperial blaster since this looks the closest to the used one.

OK, ow lets see those pictures. One last note, the actual figure is a little darker, my buddie just used to much light this time.

So what are you going to work on next?  Are you going to try working on the Bando Ghorahs (spelling?) ?  That would be a sweet figure to make.

IMO there is no interresting character left, so I planned to move to some figures based on the "Tales of the Jedi" comics

Though having never played Bounty Hunter and thus not having a reference for him, I can't critique any specific details on this custom, other than to say it looks pretty sweet.  He looks like he's a roided up mandalorian hell-bent on destruction. My only advice to you is to maybe reduce the white in his eyes, makes him look like he's bug-eyed (unless he is supposed to be  :P), that's something I've had problems with on many occassions when repainting a face.

Keep up the great work, happy customizing!

Title: "Whistler" - Corran Hornīs R2-unit !!
Post by: Real Scooby on September 16, 2003, 01:47 PM
I thought its time to show of some new again. Originally I planned to do a Corran Horn too to match the cover of the novel "I, Jedi" but I just cant find tohe right parts. ( For some reason I just want to stick to "original Star Wars" part and not including other line pieces )

Anyway this is "Whistler", Hornīs unit. Its just a simple repaint this time. I used a SAGA Coruscant Sentry R2. I removed the batteries and filled the hole on the top speaker.

I use waterbased Acryl colors. The ones I have are a german product from "RAYHER Hobby".
They come in 15ml bottles and have a wide range of colors.
The green used on Whistler is a custom mixed of dark green, white and a little grey.

IMO I can work with them better than with REVELL , TAMIYA  or something similar.

Nice work Peter!  I love doing Astromech Units and you have done a very nice one here!

To Chris

Yeah waterbased acrylics is the way to go, I personally have always used Citadel (you can get them at Wizards of the Coast shops if there is one in your local mall)
