Title: Star Wars Party Favor 8-Pack (HTS.com)
Post by: Brian on May 21, 2008, 03:53 PM
I was just checking out what was in stock over at HTS, and found this listing (http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByBrand.htm?BR=495&SBR=78&ST=SO&ID=21995&PG=2).  It is an 8-pack of the Ceremonial Luke Skywalker (pictured with gold coins), apparently to be given out at b-day parties and such.  There's also one in the Galactic Heroes section (Old Ben/Vader), as well as the TSC section (Vader).  I just thought it was interesting.  I suppose that would be a cool party favor, although a figure other than that Luke might be a better choice :).  How about, SA Clones or Biker Scouts for everyone! :P

Was there a gold coin Luke in the normal UHG run?  If not I bet there be some carded collector people going in together to get.  But Brian you're absolutely right an army builder would've gotten a lot more people buying.

That's hilarious.  This was actually one of the harder ones for me to find.  ::)

My guess is they have alot of overstock on some figures and they are trying very creative ways to get rid of them.  I though the Big H said KIDS WANT PREQUAL TOYS OVER ORIGINAL TRILOGY.  Vader I can understand but luke? Odd.  CLones would have been a better choice for party pack, but then we would just buy them up for army building.

At least they arn't pit droids. If they were troopers, you guys would buy them out and the idea of a birthday giveaway would never happen.

Well, HTS has some better choices up now - with "troop builder 8-packs" available for the TAC Stormtroopers, Destroyer Droids, and the Legends Clonetrooper (AOTC) for $44.99 each.  I have to admit I'm tempted to order the Stormtroopers, if it wasn't for the fact that the helmets pretty much fall off of all of the individual ones I've picked up.  The AOTC trooper pack is tempting as well, not too bad of a deal overall.

I hope the do well. I'd be nice to see sets like that continue, though at this point I don't need any.

My those three sets are tempting, but I have no room for the Droidekas, I'm sick of Clones, and the TAC Stormtrooper's waist is too loose.

The stormies are a great deal.  I stockpiled when our local target had them at $2.49 and don't need more, but would have grabbed this for sure if I ahdn't found so many earlier.
