Wow - looks like we're both up late!

 :P

I'm bored out my mind, everyone left cause it is Labor day so there is nothing to do up here, and it is too hot to sleep, not that I could anyways. ::)

Sleeping?  That's a thing I miss dearly!

I do have to go to try and go back to bed though.  I couldn't sleep so I posted those customs.

I'll have at least one more to show tomorrow, actually a late submission for Month 4 - Droids.

Thanks.  The first three were probably quite a bit more creative than the piece of junk I'll show tomorrow.

Oh what the hell... you can't sleep, right?  Give me 10 minutes and I'll have a pic up.

Ok, two more droids for the August edition.  I wasn't going to submit these because I was kind of embarassed by them, but I figured what the heck.

Like I said in the other thread I like the yellow one a lot. It is nice to see droids in different colors and the part choice is really good, it is nothing to be embarrassed about.  :) The other guy looks good too.

The guy on the left came from the following parts -

Head - GI Joe Techno Viper
Body - EV9D9
Arms - Super Battle Droid
Legs - IG-88

I wanted him to be some sort of crappy protocol droid.

The other one is simple a repained Star Tours droid.

Thanks for the compliments.

Nice Jedis CHEWIE.  Is that a Mace head on a ROTS Agen Kolar body?  I might have to try that switch for my Mace....
The scariest thing that I've ever seen,
Is the terrible AT-AT walking machine.
It's as big as a house on walking legs,
and whatever it steps on it crushes like eggs.

21st Century Toys. There is a thread here disussing them. As far as I know they are Wal-MArt exclusive, they make some really cool vehicles and the figures are decent, lots of them have rather extreme facial expressions though.

I think it has something to do with the Empire becoming much stricter and trying to eliminate any individuality. At the end of ROTS the Star Destroyers also are plain and have no clor like they did at the begining of the movie.

I also think it has to do with mandalorians in some way. The clones, most of them at least, had been motivated during the clone wars by the fact that they were clones of a great mandalorian soldier; and as a result, Mandalorian drill instructors were asked to train some of the elite clones, and even clones that learned from Jango himself had taught the future commanders, of which probably had added some aspect of mandalorian culture to the curriculum. All of this had probably lent itself to the clones' colour deviations, which was done ritually to mandalorian armour. I think that after the Empire took conscripts and other clone templates, the desire to be like the mandalorians among clones and soldiers lessened, which made it easier for the Empire to eliminate individuality of any sort, such as colour deviations to armour.
