The price has been raised to $49.99, making it a definite pass until clearance time.

Yup.  Noticed the same thing tonight.  Instead of a clearance it gets a price hike....go figure.   :-\

Well, screw it. I was thinking about buying one of these this weekend, but for $50, no. My POTF2 one will have to do.

Wow. That's like how they increased the price of the BMF a few weeks after it was put out.

Hopefully most of us have already bought it.

I think that was shortly followed by a "sale" that gave shoppers the false sense that they're saving a few bucks.

I was waiting for clearance. This is disappointing news. :-\

At least going by our local stores, these things seemed destined to go on clearance.  I don't know that I've seen any move since they were first on shelves, and they've started shoving them into other areas of the aisle now too.  If they do raise the price, that's definitely not going to help them sell.  It is too bad really, and hopefully it doesn't make Hasbro shy away from other beast (OT especially) re-dos.  The $50 price is too high, but the Rancor itself really looks nice I think.

I didn't see many of these around here, fewer of the RC droids.  As Target exclusive roll-outs go this seems to be one of the weaker pushes.   Although I guess if they jack up the price, they'll only lose slightly less on a 75% off final markdown.

I noticed one thing with their Marvel exclusives, sometimes an item is jacked up and the clearance is taken off of another, lower price-- for example, there was a Spider-Man 3 boxed set that was $19.99 for 2 figures.  When the very first clearance started, the price changed to "Was $12.99, now $9.98" or whatever.  (I ended up getting it under $4.)  There definitely seems to be some weirdness there from time to time, or simple human error.  A few years ago, Target also had an instance with Transformers Titanium Series-- the $5 ones were $15 and vice-versa for a few weeks at numerous stores nationwide.

Thanks to a signage error I got mine for $34.99, and I'm pretty content with that.  Even if it were to go cheaper, I'm not going to go the usual route of returning stuff and buying a cheaper one.

I really liked this piece.  I'm pleased.

I've noticed that these have shelf space in Target's reset.

Yeah, my local Target finally put out the Rancors due to this new reset. I suppose that puts off clearance for a little while. I'm glad I got mine before the price hike. I found the shiny brown variant and decided not to take my chances as all I see are the white powdered sugar Rancors.

I've been on the fence at $39.99, now that it's $10 more, no way.

I still want to stock up on Hoth Rebels and Dresselians, so I've got to cut where I can!

Your Target just reset - with Rancors too?  Geez.  Lucky for you though - I've never seen the whiter Rancor out in the wild.

I'll count myself lucky that I found this for $34.99.

It's an excellent addition to the collection.
