Woah...I wonder what these are?
-
WOOT! Pops is on the way at long last!!!!!!

WOOT! Pops is on the way at long last!!!!!!
As soon as I saw that, I thought about that guy on JD who has the Pops sig and figured you would be super happy tonight. Rock on.
I'm psyched for Princess Kneesa and more EWOKS animated goodness!
-
WOOT! Pops is on the way at long last!!!!!!
I did not see where they named any specific characters (at least not in the link Scott posted above). Where'd you see that? But if Pops is on the way, that's awesome!
-
I seriously had dreams of the Ewok exclusive sets being shown at TF.... Must have been the vicodin.
Vicodin dreams FTW!!!!
-
Hmm, they seemed to have taken it down
Pilot Pack has: Porkins, Pops, Tiree, Porkins Astromech and another TIE Pilot
Ewok Pack has: Teebo, Kneesa, Wunka, Tippet and Corpsey

You know...the only thing that sort of has me going hmmm is naming one of the Ewoks Corpsey. I know that there is Corpsey (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Corpsey) entry on Wookieepedia but he doesn't have a LFL approved named. Sorta smacks of the Indiana Jones fig sham of a few years ago. Again, I hope not because both sets would be more than welcome!
-
I can make out Teebo, but who are the other ones shown?

I think you need to take Vicodin on a regular basis.
-
I can make out Teebo, but who are the other ones shown?
The one looks like Teebo, but the name doesn't look like it. :-\
-
Doesn't it seem odd that there would be no mention of this during TF, yet all these pics come out the same day?
I'm all for the sets. That pilot one (minus the TIE Pilot) is awesome and would take care of all of the speaking/named roles! An Ewok pack would be awesome, too, but I can't believe one would be Corpsey... for the reasons Scott gives regarding the non-licensed name.
-
It's Teebo, Kneesa, and who I originally thought were the AT-ST jackers, but now I don't think so. That was Widdle and another who's name escapes me.
-
Scott posted this in the rumors section:
Here are the characters included in the pack: Pilot Pack has: Porkins, Pops, Tiree, Porkins Astromech and another TIE Pilot
Ewok Pack has: Teebo, Kneesa, Wunka, Tippet and Corpsey...
The inclusion of Corpsey makes this smell a bit.
It'd be nice to get Oochee and Widdle in the pack.
-
The inclusion of Corpsey makes this smell a bit.
true, but the accessories look too legit to quit. Here's hoping it is real.
just missing Chukha-Trok... :'( oh well, he will be here soon enough. Perhaps the next pack will follow the model I laid out before Hasbro in my question/suggestion ;D giddy
-
I'm sure he'll (Corpsey) will get a legitimate name before release. ;)
-
The inclusion of Corpsey makes this smell a bit.
Hmm...maybe the figure will have "real charred fur smell" scent, like Stinkor from 1980's Masters of the Universe. :D
-
Two very easy purchases... actually, 4 since I'll probably nab at least two of each.
-
The Rebel set is definitely very similar in theme to 2011's BATTLE OF ENDOR multi-packs. And I'm glad to see some of the Battle of Yavin pilots who actually have dialogue getting figures. I really hope they're legit!
As for the Ewoks? We've known that Kneesa was in the works for at least a year, but got split off from a possible 2-pack with Wicket. And updated Teebo would be awesome, too. And more new Ewoks are certainly welcome in my book since Hasbro has finally gotten around to finishing the Kenner Ewoks.
Based on what we've seen in recent history? I'm thinking that these are probably TRU exclusives. I guess we're going to have to wait and see what develops with these.
-
There weren't any exclusives announced outside of the SDCC set were there?
-
Not that I've seen. And nobody has posted the slideshow. I would think that at least from the various Twitter feeds out of the hall we might have heard about some exclusives.
-
Nah, I think exclusives are reserved for SDCC or another show generally... Since they're not really important things at the Toy Fair public event and all.
-
No exclusives except for the SDCC ones.
-
Nah, I think exclusives are reserved for SDCC or another show generally... Since they're not really important things at the Toy Fair public event and all.
No, they usually do at least announce them, at least in the slideshow
-
This is what I geek out about. Both of these sets will be very welcome.
-
One of the ewoks is the one with the imperial blaster, I believe the other ewoks are the AT-ST Hijackers ;D
-
Really hope these sets see the light of day, they look great. Nice to have an ewok set like that, and the pilots isn't bad either. Definitely hope we get more info on these, and that they are headed our way later this year. Does seem like a TRU-type exclusive, probably later in the year.
-
Teebo (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Teebo)
Kneesa (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kneesa)
Wunka (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wunka)
Tippet (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tippet)
Corpsey (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Corpsey)
-
A nice advance on ewok depiction, althought seems they alterante Chirpa and Wicket torsos, hope to see the final paintjob which improves characterization.
The pilots heads seems accurate, but Porkins body is not fat enough (remember the rumor to use Willrow body for a new porkins, only fat belly)
-
Ewok set is awesome. Finally Kneesa!
-
Teebo (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Teebo)
Kneesa (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kneesa)
Wunka (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wunka)
Tippet (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tippet)
Corpsey (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Corpsey)
Corpsey????
Really??? Who the **** names these Ewoks?
-
Wasnt that the running joke name for the ewok that dies, funny if Hasbro actually goes with it.
-
It's Teebo, Kneesa, and who I originally thought were the AT-ST jackers, but now I don't think so. That was Widdle and another who's name escapes me.
They are not the hijackers (Widdle and Oochee are the jackers) :( for we have to keep waiting :(
Maybe there is a second ewok set (w/ Jackers, Chirpa, and Chukha-Trok) and a second Pilots Set (w/ Biggs, Pilot w/ Dack Helmet) there was 2 pilots sets last year
-
I'll buy both of these. Kind of feel like I have enough Rebel Pilots at this point, but I can't resist. As for the Ewoks, it's about time we had something like this to populate the old ewok villiage. I hope the head pieces and such are interchangable to build some custom characters.
-
Hey guys !!
Did you noticed that the site potf2.com published new pics of long-awaited and rumored multipacks ?!
Follow this link :
http://www.potf2.com/potj/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17143 (http://www.potf2.com/potj/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17143)
New ewoks :
WUNKA with E-11 blaster, CORPSEY the "dead" ewok, TEEBO in new qsculpt, PRINCESS KNEESAA for the first time released and TIPPETT from marvel comics !
-
Sweet. I'll take 1 of each pack.
-
I mainly just want the set for Teebo, Wunka, and Corpsey. The other 2 will fit in nicely to the growing Ewok villagers. I am ready for that Pilots set to, but the Ewoks kind of steal the show IMO. I hope we get some more info and pics soon.
-
That's definitely a nice little crop of Ewoks. It gets Kneesa out, which we know had been on the way. And it offers a nice revision on Teebo, the last version of whom looks oversized. The rest of the set is gravy!
-
Very happy with both sets... probably the only really interesting things other than basic vinty figures that seem to be coming this year.
-
Disappointed to see what looks like a straight R5-D4 reissue in the Pilots pack. I know Porkins's droid had that head...but they could have at least changed the body deco a bit.
-
Yeah, the droid is a bummer. Would have been a good opportunity to re release the astromech from the Scramble on Yavin battlepack that many people missed out on. Other than that though, stoked for these sets!
-
I just hope these aren't WM exclusives. I want these pretty badly.
-
I'm thinking they're TRU exclusives. It fits the theme of the Battle of Endor figures they did last year.
As for the droid? Check out this pic:
(http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111104223735/starwars/images/thumb/4/4e/PorkinsHasAProblem%28BesidesObesity%29-ANH.jpg/830px-PorkinsHasAProblem%28BesidesObesity%29-ANH.jpg)
It looks pretty similar to R5-D4 from the get-go.
-
No wonder Porkins blew up. His droid had a bad motivator!
-
I'd definitely pick up both of these as well, but I really like the looks of the ewok set. It is funny, when that POTJ Teebo was released, I thought it was a really amazing figure - it is funny how even figures like that can be improved upon these days. The Rebel pilots are cool too, just not quite as exciting with all of the pilot packs we've gotten over the past few years. Still nice though.
-
At the time that POTJ Teebo WAS an amazing figure. It was a major step forward in how Hasbro was approaching Ewoks. IIRC it was the first Ewok that gave us articulated wrists.
-
This new Teebo actually looks like the on screen character, which is nice. POTJ Teebo is a really nice figure as has been said, but he's a bit too pudgey and has a full hood instead of just the head peice, so I'll be looking forward to this one, and see no need to replace POTJ Teebo on my shelf either since they appear to be distinct enough from each other that he can pass as a different Ewok. I don't mind him being a bit bigger than the others either, Just as there are some above average humans, I'm sure there's a couple above average Ewoks.
-
(http://www.potf2.com/files/darth%20jaxx/watermark/ewoksset_w.JPG)
These Ewoks look great - so pumped for this set. Kneesa looks cute like she was in the cartoon which translated into realistic very well.
-
LOL, Hasbro and their Cease and Desist nonsense.
You can't unring that bell now, dinguses. Once it's on the Internets, it's there forever!
-
I saved the images to my desktop ;D
-
That is the first time in recent memory that Hasbro has sent out C&Ds for SW though...I've heard there has been a regime change on the SW brand and this is probably a good sign of things to come :-\
-
Yeah, I do not remeber the last time this happened either. What's funny is that the images been around since TF so it's not like the cat did not leave the bag already. While it was no the package art it's not like most fans who scour the boards did not see these. I am thinking these are TRU exclusives.
I did not hear of the shake up but I will try and get some intel from a friendly source of mine.
-
If Hasbro can give us 5 Ewoks in a BP, then they should of given us 5 droids in the Royal Starship pack, and thrown R2-M5 in there as well.
-
These won't be battle packs (which are now 3 figures), they'll be "milk the collectors" packs like Battle of Endor pilots, Republic Commandos and Force Unleashed. I wouldn't be surprised by a $35 to $40 price tag on these sets.
-
Yeah, sort of strange that Hasbro is all that upset about these leaking. In the past it hasn't seemed like much of a problem, aside from when it was something big (like the BMF Falcon) or an upcoming movie line or something. I wonder if we'll have to wait all the way until SDCC for confirmation/better pics of these sets.
-

Really? I know there was the news about the layoffs in Pawtucket. And I also know that the brand manager had been promoted to the VP level within the past year or two. But this is news to me.
-

And I'll gladly pay $40 for some awesome figures. I would prefer to see the price go up than to see Hasbro start chintzing out on articulation, like what they are doing in their "childrens' lines" (i.e., The Clone Wars and Movie Heroes).
-

I actually agree with this sentiment.
-
I'll pay too for all new characters and a good mix of resculpts like both of these are...I agree that the inclusion of Jek's droid is a little dissapointing as it is more or less R5-D4. Hopefully they will paint the back panels red :P

Me three. I'll shell out for a Kneesa. As long as I can buy a set of figures and instantly be able to tell these aren't very similar to what I've already bought, like a TIE Pilot, I'm all smiles.

Agreed. But in the case of the three pilots they chose for the 3-pack you can only really see Porkins' droid in any of the screencaps. And I can't see ANY of the Y-Wing astromechs in those shots from inside the cockpit. So all things considered it seems reasonable that Hasbro would pick Porkins' droid since it's the only one with any kind of visual reference. And when I did look for shots of the Y-Wings in the trench, guess what? THERE ARE NO ASTROMECHS IN THE DROID SOCKETS!
***Edit - removed link
-
I never noticed that before
http://disparue.org/gallery/5/movies/sw/4/images/starwars4_4489.jpg
I guess you can't even link to the image...it's the far left column third from the bottom
-
Yeah, that site is great for screencaps, but they don't want you hotlinking their images. I was looking through all of those Y-Wing pilot screencaps, and couldn't find a single shot that would show you an astromech dome. So then I started looking for the Y-Wings in the trench and found that one screencap with the empty droid sockets. I was more than a little shocked to see that!
-
No wonder they couldn't make it to the exhaust port.
-
Why would there be a socket but no droid in it?
-
...because the ILM model makers didn't make one?
-
Some of the shots of the Y-Wing models at Yavin had droids in their sockets. In one shot, you can see a black R2 dome, in another, you can see what looks like an all gray R2 dome. Both of these shots are during the approach to the Death Star.
Shots taken of the actual models themselves show one with a gray R2 dome (possibly the one seen in the movie mentioned above), one with a black r2 dome (same one seen in the movie mentioned above), and one with an R2 dome painted up to look like R5-D4's dome. I have shots of them all up on my site.
No shots of full size prop domes behind the pilots have been released, if they do exist. I don't know why the droid slots are empty in the one repeatedly used trench shot, but the slot is clearly there.
-
My point here is that we can't definitively tie any specific astromech droids to either Tiree or Pops. So out of the three pilots in this pack, the only one where we CAN identify the astromech is with Porkins.
-

They could have included one of the Yavin droids instead
-
I'd have been cool with that. There's quite a few around IIRC. I got a bunch of R5-D4 for customizing recently, and have others, so yeah I didn't need another.
-

Or, at least, if they wanted to do Porkins' droid, they could have come up with some different body deco. The head is obviously R5-D4 in the movie, but they could gone someplace else with the rest of it.
-
I'd have been happy with a particularly grimey paintjob, actually. I kind of look at astro's like chevy cavaliers. You're gonna see the exact same one now and then, maybe even side-by-side... But yeah, a unique body deco (since a body deco, by all accounts I've ever seen, isn't solidified on Jek's droid) would've done a lot for that figure's popularity.
I'd also like to add that I too am ok with $30-$40 (though $40 is the high end for sure) for sets like this. I would love a set like this with Fleet Troopers with new heads, a new Captain Antilles, and a Stormtrooper. Or Endor Rebel variants, a Scout, and maybe an Ewok repaint. Or Hoth Rebels and Hoth Imperials... sneak a droid in any of those sets too maybe.
-
I love the ewok set, i cant wait. Finally Kneesa!
-
The Galactic Heroes version of Jek Porkins' droid-- the one that came in the X-Wing set-- has some added yellow markings within the red panels. Maybe Hasbro is going to incorporate those on this new figure?
(I think the GH version also had those on R5-D5, which if memory serves came out after the Jek set.)
-
Finally a Rebel pilot set that I like... I'd like to get two pilot sets. One of the Ewok set.
-
More from Rebelscum (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Toy_R_Us_Exclusive_Vintage_Collection_Update_146397.asp):
You may remember seeing images of these packs some time back, but now we can tell you that they are TRU exclusives. Each set is limited to 30, 000 pieces and will be available on August 1st for $34.99 each. The Adventurous Ewoks set will include Teebo, Kneesaa, Tippet, Corpsey the fallen (LOL), and an unnamed Ewok with an E-11 Blaster. The Yavin Pilots set includes Gold 5 "Pops" Davish Krail, Gold 2 Tiree, Red 5 Porkins, Vader's Left Wingman (with a numbered helmet?), and Porkins' Astromech.
It would be swell if they can keep these at/around that $35 price point. Almost seems like a bargain for a TRU exclusive. :P
-
TRU has a great line up of exclusives all OT related except the Maul sabe which i can care less about. I am in for all of them including x4 Speederbike sets.
Like Jeff said $35 is a steal for these sets. I sold my old POTJ Teebo and Porkins after seeing the leaked pics so I really welcome these two back in the fold. If Hasbro made sets and exclusives this solid all year this line would not have the probelms it does now. I hope SDCC restores confidence in the brand, it needs a good dose of positve buzz.
-
Can't wait!
-
I'm definitely in for the EWOKS set, but I will be amazed if they actually call that little guy Corpsey...it's just too morbid. (I mean, not for me, I think it's awesome, but for Johnny Lunchpail and Sally Housecoat, not so much maybe)
-
In the past have they announced actual production numbers before? I almost get the idea that's a marketing ploy to get people to buy them ASAP, so they won't linger around shelves too much.
-
There's always been the perception with Toys R Us exclusives that they would be plentiful, and there was never a big rush for collectors to pick them up. As a result there seems to be a perception that TRU exclusives tend to linger at retail longer than they would at a chain like Target.
And then, look at the frenzy that "Limited Editions" once brought to lines like Gentle Giant and Sideshow. Throw on that limited edition tag and you create instant buzz. It doesn't always make for happy collectors, but it can help drive sales. And that's something the line needs.
-
It would be swell if they can keep these at/around that $35 price point. Almost seems like a bargain for a TRU exclusive. :P
Can't argue with that... I don't mind that price too much. I've gotten the Endor sets now full price and I was happy with them. I'll get these too.
I wouldn't call those #'s limited really either... They're exclusives to a single chain, with few stores. That's probably not far off what past exclusives have been #'s-wise, actually.
Stuff like this gives me hope for more army building packs too... they're branching off pilots to Ewoks. It's all about building off that catalogue of parts with limited new tooling. These things, at $35, are probably pretty darn profitable, but yet the price and what "newness" they bring, seem to satisfy the public they're aimed at... Can't argue much with that. :)
-
$50. No less. (spoken as C-3PO)
-
On another note I came accross this article this morning, Romba is one crazy and sick Ewok:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4377049/Star-Wars-ewok-facing-jail-over-flash.html
Can this be a possibility for next years SW exclusive, flashing attack Romba?
-
Scooper from the 'Troopers (http://www.sandtroopers.com/sandwatch/hasbro/20120621/):
You knew there was no way they were calling him Corpsey... :P
Looks like it's Flitchee and Nanta (WOTC Galactic Campaing Guide), Teebo (RotJ), Kneesa (Ewoks), and Tippet (Marvel Comics).
No Wompus, but dang all those pack-in weapons and hoods are awesome. I think I'll be buying a second set just for the variety included to re-arm some of my custom 'woks. :)
-
+1 on the extra hoods and extra weapons. That feature alone will get me to buy at least two of these sets.
Plus, it's great to see some OFFICIAL photography of Pops at long last! He didn't come to market the way I pitched it to Hasbro, but he's finally on his way out.
-
2 or 3 of the Ewok sets for me. It is too awesome.
-
Awesomeness...wonder when these will hit, and how hard they will be to get...
-
Both of these are REALLY great sets - put me down for at least 3 of the Ewok sets to open, definitely 2 of the Pilots and of course one of each to keep MIB.....
-
good lord I hope it will be easy for me to get 2 of the Ewok sets! It sounds like all of us hear are saying the same thing lol! Oh, and of course, one pilot set.
Now bring on Chukha-Trok next!!!
-
good lord I hope it will be easy for me to get 2 of the Ewok sets! It sounds like all of us hear are saying the same thing lol! Oh, and of course, one pilot set.
I'm hoping that these sets will be as easy to get as the Endor pilot sets were.
-
But will Porkins be able to fit into the X-Wing this go-around? :D
(Serious answer: I doubt it... VOTC Luke barely fits in there!)
-
which one of those hoods is Kneesa's Second hood?
Also, is that other hood with the teeth for Teebo? yeah it is. What are the two looks from? one from the movies, but what is the other source?
-
These sets look great, can't wait for both of them. The ewoks set in particular is really nice, and one of the things I'm looking forward to the most this year. Between these and the rumored exclusives of the Speeder Bike, Slave I, and AT-AT....TRU is really having a nice round of exclusives this year.
-
I have not been tis excited about a star wars set in a while, want 2 of the ewok sets.
-
Outstanding sets... My only disappointment is the Rebel Pilots ARE using Luke X-Wing bodies. I've seen production shots, and they'll be short, other than Porkins. I wish that Luke Pilot body would be retired and they'd use the Thern one for future pilots unless they KNOW the actor was short.
It's starting to look like the Rebels made tight quarters for its pilots and preferred diminutive guys to fly.
-
Yeah these are probably the highlight of the year so far. Love the ewoks.
-
Well, at least TRU is good about stocking their exclusives. Basic figures, not so much. Totally in for the Ewok set. Will have to see the Rebel set in person before I decide.
-
If anyone is buying doubles and wants to get rid of extras, I'm interested in just the droid.
-
They should've toss in a recolored Wokling.
With the Yavin set...just to confuse us. :P
I wonder how much arm twisting was required to prevent a Vader from being included in the Yavin pilots set?
-
Nice. But I'd like to know how Sandtroopers consistently gets low-res images.
-
I'm all for the little furball set.
-
I as well...very nice looking set. Don't really care for the pilots.
-
So many hoods...
-
So many hoods...
That's why I have to get two of these sets now...to make both versions. LOVE IT!
-
Of course, you know you'll never find the Ewok set. There will be a ton of pilots however.
-
Also, is that other hood with the teeth for Teebo? yeah it is. What are the two looks from? one from the movies, but what is the other source?
RotJ also. He wears the full hood during the battle. Easiest to see next to Logray when the ewoks first show up.
-
Of course, you know you'll never find the Ewok set. There will be a ton of pilots however.
They'll do the Yavin Rebel Transporter/Geonosian Speeder packing ratio. What was that, 1 transporter per 15 Geonosian speeders?
*Slight exagerration*
-
all that is left is I wonder how long it will be that we have to wait for these....
and then how long we will have to wait for the inevitable next round of these sets!!! Chukha-Trok!!!!!!!! What!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Great high-res pics at Yoda's News (http://yodasnews.com/).
It's funny. With each new pic, I'm loving the Ewok set more and the Pilot set less. R5-D4 with a new name? Lame. Still re-using the old Pilot Luke body? Lame. Ewok set is awesome though, definitely in for multiples of that one.
-
couldn't agree with you any less. I was in for 1 of the pilots and two of the ewoks, but with these new picks I am considering a third ewok set now!
-
The Ewok set is a clear winner...
Those pics are still in the "prototype" stage of things on the pilots, as I can confirm that the one pilot I have seen doesn't look THAT bad, but I'm still tired of the Luke bodies being used. The Alliance isn't made up of entirely short pilots... One or two, fine, but there's barely any average-height guys. There's too short and too tall. Not a lot of in-between. Time for them to get that average-height one out there in good numbers.
I'd have also liked to have seen them take Porkins' Astromech and do something to it to make it unique... It's not seen below the body so a slight deco change like some body striping could've happened, along with red leg marks right? Make something nice and different.
I like the Pilots to get them, but at this point I'm down to one set of them. $'s too tight to spend where I don't want want to, or to spend on fixing figures Hasbro half-assed like these guys.
-
Here is a side-by-side (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=320850818000801&set=a.227407880678429.56321.223968007689083&type=1) of Porkin's droid and the TVC R5-D4. While similar, there are distinct differences.
-
Differences for sure, but if the droid's body is a relatively clean slate from the perspective of source material I'd have preferred significant differences to those I guess. :-\
Then again I've always said droids are probably like cars, and there's exact duplicates as well as slight differences and stuff.
-
can't remember which site I saw say it one Facebook, but these are now looking like $40 sets...
-
Thats pretty ridiculous but not surprised. DC Direct is price gouging with their deluxe Arkham Asylum line, i am sure other companies will follow. I really have respect for Marvel Select and their reasonable prices.
-
I'm definitely digging the Ewok set too, despite having always hated the furry little turds in general. What's next - getting excited over an SA Jar Jar? Kudos to Hasbro for the added variety with the various hoods and such. I assume more than a few of us will be buying a couple sets just to mix and match with these and do some Ewok army building. My excitement over the pilots is rather tempered though, likely due to the oversaturation of them in recent years. Porkins is too skinny as well. I'll probably pick one up though.
-
I don't know. An SA Jar Jar could be pretty cool. He is one of the last major characters not to have an SA version.

Never fear! An SA Jar Jar shall be here by the end of the year.
-
There'll be an SA Jar Jar in a matter of weeks... SDCC set, remember? Anyone?
Is he really that easy to forget? Yikes. Hope not many of him make it to the pegs! :D

Darth Anton passed along some pics of the sets he picked up... :)

Clicky
I gotta say I like getting rebel pilots and all, but I'm really sick of the Luke sculpt... not everyone's short, and uh, well, yeah... I'd like my Rebel Pilots to look a tad more average height. Apparantly you have to be a giraffe to drive an AT-ST and a dwarf to fly an X-Wing. Kinda weird. Time for that pilot body to see retirement though. That thing has to have made them quite a bit of cash on its own.
-
Not a bad looking Porkins. Love the ewoks set. I'll have to see if I can find Princess Nesha by herself somewhere.
-
I'm a huge fan of pilots, in fact I think we only have one to go to complete the Yavin battle set, red ten. However, with this set, beyond the over-use of the Luke body, the heads on "Pops" and Tiree sit too low on their respective bodies and the insignias on "Pops's" helmet are uneven. The blasters also don't work for the standard Luke hands. They should have had the standard RFT blaster.
If these hang around on the shelves for a while and if there's a sale, I'll probably pick up another set to make snowspeeder pilots.
-
Nice pics, Anton - and nice score.
The height of the Luke sculpt doesn't bother me, it's the sculpt itself. I always felt the arms look too big for the body.
-
I guess the Luke sculpt doesn't bother me for Luke, but I'd like to see some variation between the pilots. That's part of the M.O. for the rebellion, they have different looks. All the pilots using the Luke body makes my rebel shelf look like the kentucky derby stables.
-
It's also a bit dated in sculpting terms, even if it's superarticulated. Luke Snowspeeder is a better sculpt (obviously a snowspeeder pilot sculpt). Of course, pining for a new X-wing pilot sculpt would backfire; they'd make one and reduce articulation.
-
I agree, the snowspeeder Luke sculpt is so much better. It looks much more like a natural human body than the X-Wing Luke (especially hate those huge shoulders).
-
I have the same complaint with the Luke sculpt as CHEWIE, the arms have always bothered me. The elbows are ridiculously big, like almost the size of Luke's head. If they could re-do the arms and make the joints smaller I'd be a lot happier with it.
-
I think for me it's all down to what I'd want to rebuy and what I wouldn't want to rebuy and would rather see something much different take up the tooling dollars. Not to say I don't think they can improve on Luke if they did a new one, I think Hoth Pilot Luke shows there's definite room for improvement. I just think that, at $11 a pop (especially since ordering by the case is the norm at the moment), I'd rather a Cantina Alien or more needed figure be in there.
There's some figures I just look at and think, the articulation's there, the sculpt's not attrocious...
Now... $8 figures? I'd be all for almost anything being resculpted just for a new interpretation. :)
-
Yeah, I'd much rather a new Ree-Yees or Yakface resculpt than wasting the slot on Pilot Luke. Don't get me wrong, before the line ends it would be nice, but my heart wouldn't skip a beat like it would for that three-eyed, fat-fingered bastard from Jabba's palace.
-
I'd take a new Pilot Luke too, so don't get me wrong... Snowspeeder Luke shows what can be done and all. I just think, at $11 a pop, I'd much rather a lot of other stuff...
That said, I'd probably rebuy the same one with a nice paintjob on his helmet. Go figure.
-
They had these sets up on Toysrus.com very breifly this morning. I manage to get my order in for 1 Ewok set. Had the pilots in my cart for a moment before deciding against it for now. I kind of have a feeling that the pilots won't be that hard to come by once these things hit in force. That and it's kind of boring in comparison to the ewoks.

I was able to get two Ewok sets and a pilot set. I had the same reservations about the pilot set, but since the closest TRU is thirty or so minutes away I just went ahead and got it now. It beats wasting the time and gas looking for it at the store, or having to worry about meeting a free shipping goal online at some later date.
-
I found these at our local store yesterday. They only had one of the Ewok sets, but three of the Pilots. I have a feeling the Pilots may stick around as well. Really, really like the ewok set, and wouldn't mind picking up another one eventually. The Pilots are nice too, but I just think I'm starting to get my fill of Rebel pilots right now. I like the new Porkins though, and it is a nice set.

What Has Happened To Teebo In The Toys R Us Ewok Pack?
No new Teebo head sculpt? Logray repaint?!
-
I've part-sourced all of the Ewoks in this set and I was really let down by the Teebo face/head sculpt. This, and the fact that the upcoming AT-ST pilots don't match the packaging either, really sucks. :'(
-
yeah, I now have 3 Ewok sets (2 for me one for someone else) and all 3 have the Logray head... :'(
-
This deal is getting worse all the time. It's a moot point though, as stores in my town have stopped ordering new Star Wars toys altogether. sigh.
-
I was able to get a price adjustment from TRU.com on my order for three of the multipacks. On Thursday they didn't qualify for the 20% off promotion, but yesterday I noticed the sale was being advertised on the product pages (with the sets still out of stock) so with one email I was able to get a nice little refund. Quick and easy!
As for the Logray head on Teebo, it doesn't bother me as much as the hideous gap at the waist or the lack of bow & arrows for the one Ewok with a quiver. It still sucks that the original head wasn't released though... it looked awesome. I'm not as grumpy when it's normal-sized figures having some errors (like the pilots using the Luke body) but for tiny little Ewoks, at the same price as regular figures, Hasbro should be going all-out.
-
Saw the one Ewok set at TRU today and skipped it due to gash like mold flaws on Teebo's chest. I hate when that happens. But at $40, I am gonna be that picky and wait for the next shipment (which won't happened...I missed the boat... :( )
Pilots set looks worse in person.
-
Went out looking again today, no luck.
-
Saw the rebel pack at TRU a few days ago. They had a price sticker that said Rebel Pilots on it. No mention of an Ewoks price sticker or said set.
-
I have grabbed all I need now. I have 2 Ewok sets and a rebel pilot set for me, and 2 Ewoks sets and a rebel pilot set for collector I am helping out in Canada.
Now bring on the K-Mart packs so I can be done with that place once again!
-
Got a Yavin Pilot set... $40 is too much for this. It's a half-hearted effort on Hasbro's part, to say the least.
I like Porky, but the other two are gonna need a little fixin' up. And the droid can suck it. Sad when the TIE Pilot is the 2nd best figure in the set.
-
Back in stock at tru.com. I ordered these. I figure it's one less place for me to check for exclusives.

Times Square getting old for you ? ;)

I'd avoid it like the plague. But I did see Snoop Dogg hangin' out there.

Isn't his name like Snoop Tiger now or something?

Do you have a link? I can't even find them on the site.

Ewok's are out of stock now.
Here's for future reference:
Ewok: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12885955&prodFindSrc=rv
Yavin: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12885956&prodFindSrc=prodCrossSell
-
Ran into the same ******' problem... TRU.com is a hellhole half the time.
Ewok Multi-Pack (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12885955&searchURL=false)
Yavin Rebel Pilots Multi-Pack (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12885956&prodFindSrc=prodCrossSell)
Their search feature eats dick.
EDIT: Was posting at the same time, but at least it was on the next page so it works out I guess. :)
-
Bump to the new page! ;D
Now if only Kmart could get all of their exclusives on their webpage, that'd be excellent!
-
Thanks Jesse. The Ewok set is sold out now apparently. FFS - I've called and stopped by stores daily, checked the site regularly and I still can't throw my money at TRU. It's this kind of crap that makes me think seriously about just stopping the collection where it's at. Well done TRU.
-
The Yavin set, to me, is such a mixed bag... I mean, on one hand you got articulated versions of guys you want, but on the other hnad they use that ****** tiny Luke, and that just drives me batty. I can't pass on it because I figure this is the only way we're going to get those two but still... annoying.
The Ewok set, I dig. Logray repaint is BS, but overall I like that set and I'm happy, so I'm into it... I don't have it yet either, but I will track it down.
If more stores did a more practical rewards program like K-Mart does, I'd be more into shopping at their stores too. I was just looking at the TRU Rewards program and realized it's pretty bunk. You really REALLY have to spend a lot with them to net $5 off... In a niche like toys, I think they'd be a tad more liberal with the points, or maybe offer double point days during sales on select items and whatnot. They really could improve that program IMO.
Totally separate topic though... TRU just irks me.
-
Their search feature eats dick.
I don't think it's a ****** search feature, since the items weren't even in the Star Wars category/section for the last few days. It seemed like TRU.com was trying to hide them. I honestly thought they had been removed from the site until I was advised to use the direct link this morning.
Not sure if anyone posted this, but I read these sets were priced at $46 at a Florida TRU. Maybe a price hike will cause these sets to hang around a bit longer, but hopefully the price doesn't keep increasing like those Endor sets from a couple years ago.
-
Yeah, I had originally save the link under favorites a couple days ago when I missed out and then the next day they weren't on the link, but they were listed in the recently viewed so I got on there and save the actually Ewok and Yavin product links in case they popped up again. The same thing happened when the Deleted Scene figures came out. They disappeared from the link and I couldn't find them again.
-
Price hiking when something's popular? From TRU? Nah, couldn't be.
-
Picked up these sets tonight at TRU.
Ewoks rock, as expected. So does Porkins... astromech droid is okay, I guess... same goes for the TIE pilot. But those other two pilot are terrible. Hasbro needs to let go of that awful Luke sculpt. I'm going to use the heads for generic customs, I guess.
-
Saw an ebay listing for Princess Kneesa...up to $20 so far. Half the cost of the set. Really?
-
I got both sets in the mail today. Below are some pics of the Ewoks... I won't bore everyone with the pilots.

I got the Ewoks tonight... Called a local TRU with the SKU and asked them to hold me a set and they did. Very cool of them.
Since I couldn't get anything online, this was the next best option, and it worked. Bit of a hike to the store for me (TRU's are all about an hour from me, haha... every direction. It's a goddamn geographic enigma), but I tied it to a trip to Harbor freight. :-X
Ewoks look a lot better than Reb Pilots... The Rebs aren't dismal, just far weaker. I'm actually pondering swapping some parts to make at least one of the pilots taller, and make maybe a Dak shorter... I gotta do something here. It's like everyone in the Alliance is 5'7"... I know like 1 guy that short, so how can every orange suited pilot be that short unless they were on Hoth? It's killing me.
Porkins looks nice though... I'm happy with him, and honestly I like him a little thinner whether it's right or not. I say that only because I have a hard time wrapping my head around a morbidly obese fighter pilot. Stocky though? I can handle that, at least a little better.
-
Congrats Jesse!
-
Thanks Justin... Did you get one or the other or both yet?
I've yet to open the Rebels yet, and I love Rebel Pilots... that's how out of it I am on these short pilots. ::)
It was a double win tonight as I finally got my 2nd Tarkin figure (I wanted a carded one) and also nabbed an extra oddball, and a Hoth Luke too for a generic officer.
Harbor Freight's like crack... I bought $25 worth of stuff but I walked out with free scissors and a good bit for that price. I really feel like a glutton though, every time I'm there, as I always buy a bunch of stuff I probably don't need immediately but I always have to buy stuff. I mean, I could blow paychecks in there easily and the tools aren't even that great... they're just soooooo cheap.
-
BTW, $39.99, which I reported on our front page... DarthChuckMC reported on twitter these were $45 down in Orlando I believe, and that hopefully was just down there... Is TRU allowed to scalp? ???
One can hope these don't go up in price.
-
Stopped by my two local TRUs after work yesterday since one is slightly out of the way home. This one is usually good at stocking stuff but just had one Yavin set for $39.99. No Ewok sets, nor tags for them. The TRU closer to my house, where I bought a Yavin set last week for $39.99, looked like they reset their shelf space, giving figures 2 pegs (::)) and allocating most space for lightsabers and the crappy half masks they sell now. They had two Yavin sets last week and had none this week, not even a shelf tag.
Anyway, I haven't opened the Yavin set yet but in person I like it much better than I thought. I'm sure I'll go back to complaining about it once I expand my shelves and can actually display everything I've bought over the last year.
-

Maybe Orlando got a ton of these just to get those Celebration attenders to buy them for $5 more? But I think TRU doesn't have a general one price tag for each store. The Times Square TRU had figures at $12 ($1-2 more than in Minnesota) for the longest time. They have dropped to $9.99 and had remnants of the Tarkin wave on the pegs.
-

I saw stuff like this in my TRU except worse (Marvel Legends marked up to $22.99 from $15.99) and was like WTF?
A manager at the TRU closest to me explained that there are now a bunch of TRU "test stores" around the country. Select TRU stores that jack up the price on certain items. Then they track sales. If the sales are equivalent to other areas, this is viewed as free money and the price hike goes nationwide.
My TRU is one such test store. And I am so lucky to be paying more.
My store is currently gouging like mad on Marvel but Star Wars vintage is $9.99, they were $11.99 for a while but the old stale TPM **** just sat there for like 4 months.

That explains why one of the two TRU's near me has a higher price. I have gotten them (at least once, maybe twice) to adjust the price to match the other TRU though.
-
I scored them at the TRU near where I work for $39.99 each and on top of that, I received a rewards e-mail last night with a coupon that was good ONLY today, August 23rd that got me 20% off any purchase of $75 or more. So I picked up three of each set (2 of each to open, 1 to keep MIB) and they cost me $34 each after tax. While not great, certainly much better than the $42.79 each they would have been w/o the coupon.
-
As for the price variance reported on these sets, there's two TRU in my area, just a few miles apart from each other. One store often has prices about 10% higher than the other on about half the SW merchandise. Both have these sets though, at $39.99 each.
-
My TRU has yet to even get these, and a scan of the shelf tag that's been there for two weeks didn't give any details on when they'll be arriving ("Sometime in the next three weeks, I think" said the TRU employee who scanned it). Perfect. Perhaps by that point the store DR refers to will have succeeded in their test so I can pay 5 bucks more per set. Ugh.
-
Keep calling with a sku/barcode... worked for me.
I haven't heard of any store outside of the one in Florida DarthChuckMC reported that these were more money... weird, but I'm really hopeful there's 0 price hike on these. If anything I'm hopeful they become as plentiful as the Endor sets, and wind up seeing sales, as I'd like a 2nd Ewok set and would probably buy a 2nd Yavin on sale as well if hte price was right, for fodder purposes.
-
Is it a crime to show up at a TRU and slice a pound of fat/skin off of our abdomens and plop it down on the counter when we're paying for our star wars toys? Disturbing the peace maybe? It's gotta be illegal.
I have a few police officer friends I'll run it by them and report back.

Yeah, as long as there are no other collectors in the area. I called all over, found a place that had them and waited 20min while they looked for them. Then they told me to call back in a few days, since it clearly takes several days to unload a truck. ::) I called back early the next day and another sales person told me they found them, put them on the sales floor, and someone had already bought them that morning. Not a big fan of TRU right now.
-
MY TRU has been getting a pretty steady supply of these. My TRU gets trucks on Tuesdays and Thursdays and when I was in last Tuesday they only had 2 of the pilot sets left.
I went back to TRU today and I was shocked when I counted 17 of these sets on the shelf! :o
So for you guys that are not finding them, I think it might be because they sent them to my store! ???
-
How are these packaged? Four of each in a case or two of each in a case?
There were four of each at the TRU where I found them this morning, so I either came across 1 case or 2....

Two of each per case, from what I've seen evidence of.

Yeah there was 1 case sitting on the floor today at TRU with 2 of each in it.
-
I just got a set for myself, and I saw 4 of each pack. The cases weren't there, so I couldn't say about the case pack. But based on how they've packed battle packs in the past, I think it's likely that they're 2 of each per case.
-
Found both sets today at a TRU in da Bronx. After doing a price check and waiting on a line which took forever, I put the items down and walked out. First, they were listed for $45.00. Second, I didn't have my 20% rewards coupon with me. I was going to ask for the online price, cause you can do that and for the most part TRU will grant it to you, but after having time to examine both sets, I didn't feel the $39.99 price was worth either set. I'm not even a big ewok fan. I wish for a different outcome where they're concerned every time I watch Jedi. If they go on sale, like bogo free or something of that nature then I might reconsider. In the mean time you guys enjoy. This story was just to confirm that some TRU's are charging $45.00 but like I said you can ask the manager to give you the online price for them.
-
Ok - well if they are 2-per case, then that's good to know that my TRU got in two cases. Nice way to start - hopefully this exclusive will be replenished regularly...
I opened the Ewok set and it is so amazing. Just the fact that you can configure the five Ewoks with different cowls and accessories makes the set worth having.
I had an extra Logray from when he shipped in 2011 from one of the cases I bought so I decided to open him up as well and give him one of the spare Teebo cowls since they are essentially the same figure just in different colors.
I am so glad I got two of this set to open so I can take advantage of the various configuration options.
-
I've been buying cheap Asian Ewoks off the eBay sellers for a few years now and my Ewoks army is pretty large. Excited to mix and match these too...might try and get a couple more sets to add to the army!
-
Keep calling with a sku/barcode... worked for me.
Did that a couple of times too, with similar results ("It says our warehouse has them on order" or "It should be on the next truck next week", quickly followed up the following week with "It should be on the next truck next week").
Isn't collecting supposed to be fun? Maybe I need to just quit altogether, because I'm annoyed more than anything these days. When you have some websites (not this one, obviously) where people imply you should stop asking Hasbro about distribution issues this year because such questions have "reached a saturation point", despite us still not getting a clear answer about if and when figures are actually going to make it to retail, you kind of lose interest and hope.
Oh well, they're just toys in the end scheme of things, and Hasbro is doing their best to help me save money.
-

Quoted for truth, I am 100% in agreement with everything you said there. That particular comment chafed me too. WTF is a "saturation point from a reporting point of view"?!? You're tired of talking about it? Too bad, it's going to be THE dominant topic of conversation until the problem is fixed. Or at least until an actual explanation is provided. Not everyone is lucky enough to find figures as easily as some of the people that run websites do.
It's like CNN saying that coverage of the 2012 Presidential election has reached a saturation point, and they would prefer to talk about something else now, thank you. ::)
-
I get the impression collector's sites are suffering from all this mess. When store reports...individual store reports from a certain part of the country are news...well, things are messed up all around.
"Hey, wave 5 was found in Boise, Idaho."
Heck, I'll book a flight there.

My Ewoks come directly from the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park near Crescent City, California.

They're up again on TRU.com.
-
Snagged an Ewok set, so they should be pegwarming across the nation now that I bought one. :P
-
I opened my two sets last night and got a set of all of them looking like they do on the back of the box and then had fun custom swapping hoods with the second set last night. ;D
-
Do all the configurations and extra hoods and all that let you mimic anything from the actual films that are different ewoks or did these guys just wear multiple headdresses in the films? I didn't realize they were going to have so many extra parts until I found a set last night and am trying to decide if it's worth it to buy another one. I think I only want to bother if it lets you create movie-specific ewoks.
?
-
Found these today. Four Pilot sets and two Ewok sets were all that was left, so I figured I better grab an Ewok set before they disappear. I'm stoked to get a new Teebo since the POTJ one is too big.
-
Count me in with Rob's cluelessness on the extra bits... I 'd like a breakdown of why there was a different hood with each guy and which ones are from the movies and which are not. I know Kneesa has one from an Ewok movie, right, and the toon of course?
The dude with the toothy hood, which is awesome... what's his deal?
Teebo has two hoods and I was thinking one's accurate to ROTJ and one is an homage to his vintage figure more, or did his Ewok Movie hat look different than the ROTJ one and I just don't recall that because those movies were kind of weak?
-
Here is what I know of the hoods:
Flitchee:
The one with the feather is his hood from the movie. Not the repainted Graak hood he is packaged wearing.

Nanta:
AKA Corpsey.

Teebo:
Both are from RotJ. The first one is from all of the village scenes and hunting party. He wears the full hood during the battle. Best place to see him is when the ewoks first show up. Note: Teebo wears his horn, knife, and necklace during the hunting party and prebattle village scenes but not during the celebration like in the picture below.

Kneesaa:
Pink one is from cartoon. Other one seems to be made up but it may be based on Wuta's.

Tippet:
Marvel comics character. Both hoods are from there. Horned one from #94 and regular hood from #100.

Thanks SnTrooper, that was very clear. I appreciate it... Helps me know what way I'd prefer displaying them. Teebo gets the full hood. Wondered why the drumsticks too. That explains that.
-
I'm just going to go with the idea that Kneesa is actually Wuta. You know, so I can look at myself in the mirror without feeling shame at how lame that Ewoks cartoon was.
-
Ewoks and Droids both... I always feel like I missed something with those toons, but I watched them and as a kid I guess I just had other tastes for my Saturday Morning fun. :-\
-
If I remember correctly, they were up against the Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show. No way was I going to miss the Road Runner.
I think it also had to do with the multi-part stories that Droids and Ewoks ran. If you miss one, it was hard to keep up. The Ewok second session was better since they got away from that.
-
These cartoons were before my time, but why haven't we gotten complete seasons on DVD? I know they did those half-assed sets of like 4 episodes back when the OT hit DVD for the first time, but you'd think Lucas would want even more money.
Anyway, my Ewok set shipped from TRU.com. $50 after shipping and sales tax, ouch. But at least I don't have to waste any more time searching my non-restocking TRUs for them.
-
I'd buy the series on DVD, complete sets only though. I'm still just not a big fan but I liked some of the character designs in Droids at least. Ewoks... They're sort of weak looking designs.
I'm just glad Kneesa is realistic and they didn't try duplicating anything animated looking with much more than a paintjob.
-
The TRU employees in my area snagged ALL these sets up and so they never even made it on the shelf. It didn't help that both stores only received one case each.
-
This morning I was in the shower thinking, (best place for thinking) and I got to thinking about Chukha-Trok. We know he is coming but when and where?
There are so many different avenues Hasbro could release him:
Next year in the new Build a Droid line - doubtful imo
The next Vintage collection series - to me this is an interesting thought. I think his card would look great - even though I am an opener.
Then we have the possibility of him being in a K-Mart 2 pack - maybe even with a Kaink figure with a plastic hood!
And then of course there is the possibility of another TRU Ewok pack - again, hopefully with Kaink and others from the Ewok movie
So which will it be?
I also went looking to see if there was a hood variation for Chuka-Trok from the TV movie to the cartoon - to me it looks the same, so I wouldn't really expect a second hood. But they better give him a bunch of weapons!
While looking for images on line of Chukha-Trok I found this image of some McQuarrie art - man would that be terrifying to see if you were an Ewok! PS - I still want a Gorax.
And an Ewok group shot for fun:

-
I would love it if they made another Ewok set that did focus on the TV movies - maybe even throw a Cindel Towani figure in there too? (I know, I know wishful thinking)
-
A Cindel w/ Teek and Noah exclusive set would be awesome... with a companion set of the bad aliens w/ witch. Hasbro would have a very cool set on their hands if they did that.
-
How big would a Gorax need to be, to be to-scale?
-
How big would a Gorax need to be, to be to-scale?
there is such a range in height according to wookiepedia - adult Gorax were usually over six meters tall. Some specimens were recorded that were up to 30 meters in height.
wookiepedia is saying ewoks are 1 meter - and I am measuring the ewok action figures are about 2 to 2.5 inches (teebo). So I think the more avg Ewok would be about 2.
So an in scale Gorax would therefore need to be anywhere from 12 to 60 inches! I am not finding anywhere that says how tall the Gorax from the movie would be - but to me iirc, he looks like he would be on the taller end of the spectrum....
I suppose I will just have to dress up as a Gorax.....
-
Well, you could use one of the 1/4 scale NECA Predator figures as a base, if you wanted to make one.
-
To bad a Gorax isn't in current media - I'd totally be ok with one as tall as the Sentinel they made for the Marvel line.
-
Are the Gorax and the Lorax related?

Distant cousins.

that's what I was thinking - still would be cool indeed.

I just saw on tru.com both of these sets are now on sale for $32 - but only the pilot pack is in stock

I just saw on tru.com both of these sets are now on sale for $32 - but only the pilot pack is in stock
is that online only, or can you get retail stores to match?
-
Pretty sure TRU says no no to online price matching with their own website.
-
I found thought I heard Toys R Us now does do price matching - I am trying to find a legit source....
I did see this when I google searched and rebelscum did make a post about it:
Historically, Toys "R" Us have been one of the more expensive retailers in the US, although their selection, particularly in the last 6 - 12 months, has been better than that of both Target and Walmart. If you've been skipping Toys "R" Us because of price, you may want to think about stopping by on your next toy run, as they have today been sending out emails announcing that they are price matching everything, when taking a valid competitor's ad in to your local store.
be back with more if I find it....
update: here is a link, but I am not sure if this only applies to Babies R Us or both: http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=11949070
reading it again, it does say "R"Us stores - implying both stores imo...
It does say something in their about online matching
-
I just went to Toys R Us and it is indeed part of their new price match policy and they did price match for me on their online store
-
Well, I just got back from TRU and they confirmed that they do price match online sales at their website, but there is nothing out there on TRU.com that says anything about either of these packs being on sale for $32. I spent 20 minutes at the Guest Services desk confirming that.
If anyone has a link that shows otherwise, please LMK so I can get a price adjustment. I ended up buying one at full price but am not feeling great about it...
-
I believe it was a one day only sale on TRU.com.
-
I believe it was a one day only sale on TRU.com.
yeah, I guess it was a "one day cyber sale" type thing. Nice to know that the store will do all of this price matching no though, isn't it? TRU might become more of a shopping option now...

Well, I finally scored the Ewok set. Whew. Nice to have it crossed off my list. I really, really like the set, with the gems being Kneesaa & Teebo. The only one I don't care much for is Tippet. With the Buy One, Get One 50% off, it only came out to $30 (having purchased the Pilot set for a collector friend). I'm think I'm all set with furballs now so I might pass on the Kmart set when it comes out. Still need Chief Chirpa though.
-
I asked them to price match the Ewok set with the online price, and the clerk looked something up and rang it up at $32.99, and then let me use a $5 off $25 coupon, which wasn't too bad of a deal. I want that new Porkins, but not bad enough to drop for that cruddy set.

Yeah, Tippet is the most boring of the lot. The photo on the box shows him with paint around his mouth area, might have made him more interesting. I wish they all had newer style bodies, too. But...i'd be down for another set with Chukka whats-his-name, Imperial helmet drummer, a suicide bomber Ewok from that video game and whoever...toss in a recolored Wokling (as accessory, not a fifth figure).
-
These are on clearance... $20 a pop? I'll take that.
Pilot bits and pieces... I'll try and make two normal height, and neck, pilots out of the two they decided to make midgets with no necks. I picked two up tonight. Not many left though, shockingly. Only 2 sets when I left actually. They didn't have many of those Jedi sets from last year either which surprised me given how they sat for a while it seemed.
