I posted the Rolling Stone stuff on page 3 if you are interested, I'm on The Force bandwagon myself
==================

I saw your Rolling Stone post not long after I posted about same -- darn me for not reading ahead!!  ;0)

So what do you think? Who is Anakin's "father", is it Palpatine or Plagus? Or is it neither and just one of those mysteries we will never know, like the name of Yoda's species.
=================

While Lucas maintains that Anakin's conception parallels Biblical lore, he also says that the real story to Anakin's conception is ultimately left up to the audience.  (Rolling Stone interview)  "I" choose to believe that it was a miraculous conception, and that Anakin could've ended up on either side -- that his choices made him into what he became, not some pre-ordained destiny.  But, that's just my opinion!

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: ROTS 's PG-13 rating justified ?
« on: June 7, 2005, 08:04 PM »
I didn't find the saber chopping that much worse than the other films. More yes but I think most people even kids are used to it by now. I remember more people in the theaters being upset over the ewoks that were killed than the new padme scene.
=====================

It wasn't the lightsaber duels that caused me concern for my son -- it was seeing the dead Jedi younglings strewn about, and more so, the crispy Anakin scenes.  I think PG-13 was appropriate.

Lord Vader is definitely more powerful than Sidious why hasn't he overthrowed him? In the game of Episode III he does that in the alternative ending.
=================

I don't think he is more powerful than Sidious, actually.  I think once he became mostly machine, his power to use the force was diminished.  For instance, he cannot use force lightning, like Sidious.  If the measure of power within the force is measured by midichlorians, and Vader is half-machine, it stands to reason he has a lower balance of midichlorians than before.  :::shrug:::  Just my two cents ... !

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Episode III a tearjerker: Lucas

I for one am a HUGE fan of Jedi and their very concept. I know this thirty seven year old man will be crying like a little baby when they all get stabbed (or shot) in the back.

I'm certain that I'll be sobbing -- not only for the deaths of the Jedi, but also for the "death" of Anakin Skywalker.  It's bound to be heartwrenching to see him finally succomb to the Dark Side, though we already know it's inevitable.   :'(

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Digital Version Longer
« on: April 16, 2005, 04:42 PM »
3 digital theaters in Texas, all in Dallas. I'll wait and see this extended footage on DVD, thank you very much.

Me, too!  A three-hour drive is a bit much to see a movie!   ;)

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Looking Back...
« on: April 16, 2005, 03:23 PM »
Although TPM is my least favorite of the SW films, and is generally disliked by a number of people, watching the trailers for that movie did bring back some nice memories.

TPM was initially my least favorite, as well, but I grew to embrace it as well.  I still can't stand the JarJar Binks character, but love our insight into Anakin's roots.  TPM also brought us Qui-Gon Jinn, such an intriguing Jedi; I was quite disappointed when he was killed (I, too, stayed away from spoilers then!).  Both Ep. I and II made me love the Anakin character, and it's going to be heartbreaking to watch his fall to the Dark Side in Ep. III.
