Yakface (https://yakfaceforums.com/main/2020/06/22/rumor-report-targetgalaxys-edge-partnership/) is reporting that three Disney parks exclusive Black Series are coming to Target, along with some other goodies. Great work Jayson!
The following are going to be sold as individual figures, not as part of larger three packs with repacks like they do at the parks.
- Hondo Ohnaka
- Mountain Trooper
- Captain Cardinal
The first two have been offered at the parks, but I'm unfamiliar with Captain Cardinal.
No word if these will be at all Targets or just the ones that are Disney stores within a Target.

I really hope they're exclusive to all Target stores, as we only have one remaining Super Target with a Disney section here, and it's way the heck out of the way. All other Targets have regressed to being "regular" Target stores.
That being said, I probably only want/need the Hondo figure. If we're able to preorder on Target.com, easy peasy.

I don’t see why they can’t just sell the 3-packs. At this point, it shouldn’t have any kind of negative marketing impact on GE. I’ve still never gotten any of those, have never seen them online for a reasonable price. :(

I'm glad for the individual release since I don't need another Rey, Kylo, or Chewie. Unless your a completionist, then I see your worries.
Unfortunately, the closest Disney Target to me is 3-4 hours away!

It's an interesting development. Having Hondo Ohnaka available on his own is pretty remarkable. And so is the First Order Mountain Trooper.
The big news here is clearly that the Millennium Falcon is coming back to retail in this capacity. $400 is a lot of money, but the TLC/TVC Falcon has gotten to be one of those must have items. I'm wondering if there are going to be appreciable differences from the original release.

Hasbro could easily tweak this to make it a ST Falcon. New dish, new pack-in figures (though Chewie could work here still, too), and new phrases from Rey, Finn and Poe. Maybe even but in an escape pod instead of the mini-rig? Would that be enough to get people to buy it again? Would a straight re-release get others to buy what they might have missed the first time? It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

I think they were intended to be park exclusives only until the covid crap went down as all 3 are in the previous packaging design.

I think Maple Groves is designated as one.

Yeah, its a store within a store concept that is at select locations only. In Minnesota its the Maple Grove North store that Steve mentioned.

I looked through the store listings and there are less than 30 of these stores (http://target.scene7.com/is/content/Target/Slingshot/2020/03/video/ClubHouse_StoreLocator_PDF_5.pdf) in the U.S. It has me wondering if the partnership with Target is in place to get a Disney Store presence in markets where there are no standalone Disney stores? The closest of these Target locations is almost some 70+ miles from me, but there are several Disney Stores in my vicinity.

I was never going to pick these up from the park. Pretty pricey on top of being there for the day. Good call for these to become available nationwide.

The two stores here that have Disney sections are "Super Targets" that have the bigger grocery/home section and compete even harder with Walmart. We used to have several of these, but are now down to two, with the rest being "normal" Targets. Dunno if that is in any way accurate, but my assumption is these will be at any Super Target.

For 6" figs you get DJ R-3X and Captain Cardinal.
I got them both. I like the DJ figure (something new) but it really hurt to buy the Captain Cardinal figure. I may eventually bring it back. Looks like its nothing more than a Sith Trooper with a cape. :'(

Already pre-sold out online, so considering the last few Target exclusives never made it to shelves here, I guess it's off to eBay.

Just doing some housekeeping to post the full list of figures that have been rumored/uncovered so far for this line (for those like me who haven't been able to keep up on all this Target/Hasbro/Disney Galaxy Edge merchandising push/event :P).

So I see on Yakface per Jayson that Pyre isn't due until October. So based off of in store finds so far. I'm taking it that:

Based on my recent Popfindr searches, it looks like we can expect DJ, Cardinal, Hondo and Mountain Trooper around here. Nothing showing for the other two, i expect those will come later.
What I’m wondering is where the heck to look for these things. I’ve yet to see a photo anywhere of what the new set up or section is supposed to look like. Is it adjacent to toys or will it vary store to store?

Thanks McMetal. I'm ASSUMING they'll be on one of those focal deals in the middle of the store. And guessing plenty of stores won't have it ready tomorrow morning. I think it's gonna be a headache. I'm glad I have Hondo plus Cardinal and DJ being delivered Mondayish.

I'm working this morning and checked the Target app around 5:30 ET. All of the 6" Black Series exclusives were sold out.
Brickseek has some info about in some things being in stock nearby, but I won't be able to get to a store until the afternoon. These exclusives are almost not worth the effort.

Fats my man, let me tell you my story. :D
Woke up at 5am, checked online and saw everything was sold out, went back to sleep.
Got up at 8, checked Popfindr. Popfindr does not seem to work for some reason. Does not recognize the DPCI for Capt Cardinal, even though it worked fine last night at 1am. Checked the Captain Cardinal page at Target.com which I had bookmarked. Page not found/page error. I can already see how this is going to go.
Hit the first target by 8:30, nothing out at all. Second Target had everything on a roll out shelf and all that was left was 1 Hondo. Nothing out at all at the third Target.
By the time I hit the fourth Target I had decided to just have them pull one from the back for me if there weren’t any out. They were none of course, and when I asked at Customer Service they said they had none in the back either. They had six last night when I checked so that seemed sketchy as hell, but whatever.
Target #5 I was finally able to get them to pull one from the back for me. What an ordeal. I wish I would say I was surprised too but I figured none of the stores around here would be ready to roll those out on time.
Can’t wait to do this again in a few weeks with R5-P8! ::)

I hit one target at opening and had to race a couple guys to the back. One guy was trying to carry everything away but me and another guy managed to grab what we needed. I got the 6” figures and the new droids. That target was virtually sold out by 7:01

The only one of these I really want is Hondo, but looks like everything sold out instantly at our store as well. It has been amazing to watch between stuff like these, GI Joe Classified, MOTU Origins, or the NECA Turtle line...how difficult it is to be a collector these days. First world problem, obviously, but it is way more stressful than it should be.

I opened all of these and for the most part they're all very good.
Hondo is fantastic. DJ is cool. I like the kitbash Mountain Trooper, but really could have skipped Captain Cardinal (Sith Trooper with Cape).
One thing I wish they would have done for DJ is up the price by $5 and put a battery and sound chip in to have him play some of the cool tunes they've got him spinning at Oga's Cantina.

Found Star Tours Captain Rex at Target today. No sign of any of the others.

See that Target has a special (Spend $40 get a $10 gift card on select Galaxy's Edge items) going on. It'd be nice if there was actual product in stores or online.

I found a lone Captain Cardinal at Target yesterday, and grabbed it. Just need to get Hondo now.

I ordered DJ Rex this morning. I'm still trying to get Hondo and the First Order Mountain Trooper. Target's shipping leaves a little to be desired, though. I bought Captain Cardinal online a few days ago, and it's shipping from CA to NJ via UPS ground. It's a projection of 10 days to deliver an order!

I saw the counts on Popfindr go up for Hondo and the Mountain Trooper at my local Target overnight, so I raced over but there were none on the pegs. I stopped by electronics to ask and someone actually offered to go look in the back for me, and a few minutes later came out with one of each for me. ;D
Was not planning to buy these initially since I still plan on getting those 3-packs one day, but the idea of having a complete sub-line grew on me after getting Cardinal.

Target seems to be restocking these pretty well. Picked up DJ the other day to complete this 6 inch set.

Jeff/Jayson, or anyone in the know, do you know when Commander Pyre and R5-P8 are supposed to be released at Target? I just see "October" on Jayson's list at Yakface for Pyre.

That happened to me too, then I just got a shipping notice for R5 yesterday. So they are both on the way, but in separate packages apparently.

Ditto. My Pyre came separate and R5 is apparently on the way. Thought I did ship to store for these, but Pyre came in the mail.

I got my Commander Pyre shipment today. And I was finally able to order R5-P8 today, too.
And if someone is in need of a Hondo, LMK. I wound up with an extra and was hoping to trade him.

Commander Pyre arrived yesterday and R5 showed up today, both in small boxes with no padding but thankfully undamaged. Really like R5!
Wonder if this sub-line will continue into the future...

I went to Target on a whim over my lunch break and was shocked to see 6 R5 droids on the pegs. The only Star Wars figures to be found in the entire toy section. Grabbed one and used the Target App 25% off coupon, plus some Target Circle savings to lower the cost to $14 after sales tax!

I was able to grab one!
Of course this would come out mere days before I have to go to LA for work. I actually will have a day to visit Disneyland and Galaxy's Edge, and was planning on grabbing whichever of those figure sets that had Hondo in it. So I guess this is money saved.
