Nice reveiw Hunter and I agree. I think part of my fondness for the figure is that he easily had one of the best scenes in the entire movie. Next to Yoda, he was the only Jedi who looked like a Jedi.

While I agree with the review, I think using the word crap to discribe something is unprofessional and kind of childish. It's a well thought out review, nicely detailed and excellently photographed, but careless words, especially starting off the review, easily will take any mature person out of it and think twice about continuing to read. Just some advice, and I wouldn't give it if I didn't think almost evey word beyond that was well done.

Any idea when newforcecomics will be shipping their stock?

I ordered mine from there too. They said they received their shipment and will be shipping this week.

Great Job Chewie!

Just thought I'd share, this morning my local target put out a 501st case and I was very happy to see a Mom shopping for her kids get one with out having to fend off anyone. Nice to know that it can happen with this figure.

Saw King Kong this morning. It was just short of a masterpiece IMO. Minor story problems aside that most people won't notice or care about, everything fell togeather brilliantly. I'm excited to see what other people think, and I'm betting most are going to be blown away. I highly recommend watching the original ('33) before seeing the new one, just so you can appreciate some of the great nods to it.

Also saw Match Point Saturday night and thought it was very good.

While I think TPM is the best of the prequels, I agree, it should never had been made as it is. Starting with the Clone Wars would have been very satisfying on many levels.

Arguably the best figure in the line.

Does the Holiday Vader count as Saga? Well, mine arrived today.

I was surpised to find mine sitting on the doorstep when I got home from my morning runs today.

Upon close inspection - CHEESY! For some reason, the first ones worked for me, but seing the big DV in holiday mode give me a good laugh. Reminds me of the holiday special.

Of course it's just business - doesn't mean it's not sleazy.

Can you blame Disney though? Passion of the Christ earned a heck of a lot of money. Every studio wants to tap into that. It's just business. I'm not saying I agree or think it's necessary though.

Though, I think the film will do well enough on it's own.

I find it fasinating that the very act of marketing film to the religous crowd can turn another crowd off. Perhaps that's a mistake on Disney's part, perhaps not. C.S Lewis did not go into the Narnia Project with the intent to give Christian overtones, but once he saw that they were there, or could be used, he did embrase them to a certain extent.

But, without trying to get into a religous debate, let's not forget that those themes existed long before Christ. Even if Lewis consciously intended to use the Christian themes, a lot of these thems were invented by the Greeks.

Toy Reviews / Re: #45 Governer Tarkin
« on: December 9, 2005, 10:06 AM »
Very nice review Hunter. And yes, Tarkin was played by Wayne Pygram. Perfect casting and if he would have been give lines, I think people would have been shaking at how scary the performance would have been.

I might give a lower score for the armybuilding (though I did buy an extra for head swapping,) but other than that, I agree totally.

I look forward to the potential re-use of this for a Kir Kanos too...  Nothing wrong with that to me.

If I was into the EU, I'd probably love these guys a lot more. I love what's under the cloak*, great play value.

* Yeah, I know this earns a spot in the "quote your fellow posters out of context thread."
