Hey Guys! Sorry for not posting in awhile but I have been busy trying to complete this ...A piece that has taken me since September to complete. A fellow boardmember from rebelscum, Aeseven7, offered me this challenge - and I couldn't resist. I was so dissapointed when Gentle Giant failed to release a colorized version I took it upon myself to see if I could pull it off - I feel very happy about the outcome...on to the pics...

More images soon! Hope you enjoy!!!

Thanks professor! As for your question I got the front concept view from the Art of ROTS book and conceptualized the rest. Such a cool idea, it's a shame we did not see him in the movie.

Thanks for all the comments dudes! I hope to bring you some more WIP images soon of some other pieces I'm working on...;)

Your troopers a very well done and the packaging is the icing on the cake! On a side note - I feel that many of the customizers on this board including yourself, are out doing Hasbro by leaps and bounds - We gotta be careful! Hasbro may just decide with all the customizers out there, why spend the money on repaints! :)

When you sculpt the sculpty into the figure and then boil it, does the sculpty stay on or is there a need for glue or adhesive of any kind to make it stay on the base figure?

You know - you would think you need glue - but for the exception of a few technical pieces, I've never needed to reinforce with glue in any way - the sculpty tends to mend - I don't know exactly why but if you ever mess with sculpty on a figure too long you know how sticky and tacky it can become. As a matter of fact, My Faie has almost zero glue application to the sculpty except for the #41 antenna connection to the radio pack.  You practice long enough with that sculpty and it can become a pretty fun medium:)

It alomost looks like you did some minor changes to the face other than the scar, but I'm not sure...

The one thing I don't like is the sculpted holster on the ankle. I would have liked to have see a working holster...

The heavy ordanance clone looks pretty good so far, I'm not sure if this is fan-fic or comes from some concept source but I think I would have left the rest of the pauldron on, and just cut off the pouches. It looks a little weird just kinda floatingg thee.

Thanks for your observations :)
1. I did do some changes to the AT-Te gunner head- resculpted the mouth and repainted the entire head. The scar was a last minite idea but I like it.

2. I tried a working holster but it was too bulky and looked exaggerated - I'm satisfied with this being a supply pouch of somesort.

3. The "HO" clone is from the ROTS video game  - I am producing an exact replica which shows the pauldron "floating" on the shoulder - perhaps connected to the shoulder armor - I'll post a ref pic soon.

Thanks again!

Is that sculpey added to it or is it a colpetely different torso?

Thanks - I used the VOTC Stormtrooper head and the #41 body as the "skeleton" for the sculpt - All super sculpty done in sections then boiled so as to not damage the figure. The head, back, shoulders and chest are all sculpty.

Impressive!!

What reference pictures did you use for him?

Thanks!!! Just the ones that have been floating around of Faie - The sides and the back are all conceptualized.

I've seen this on RS and I gotta Tell you, Sithfire, you always amaze me!

How long have you been sculpting? I wanna know so I can start practicing and catch up!

Thanks! I've been sculpting since before college so about 10 years. Before that I painted military figurines and models - stuff like that. :)

- I had a lot to play around with when it comes to what the sides and back of Faie might have looked like - which was a blast!

- The small supply pack is removable - I am hoping to apply an antenna to it later.

- I think of Faie as being a hardened soldier - possibly like Cody - a first generation clone so the face had to reflect that...used to be an AT-TE driver head.

- I used a stormtrooper helmet as the skeleton of the mask and sculpted around it

- I used a # 41 body and the head is a mod of the AT-TE gunner.

- The softgoods come from an old beige t-shirt I  have:) I am going to use cloth paint to whiten it out and place the logo on the back.

- I am also posting a couple of WIP pics of my Heavy Ordinace clone from the ROTS game...I'll post a source image soon.

- I hope you guys enjoy!

That is very cool!

Thans guys! I appeciate your comments -

The paint I am using for all my customs if the Testors Floquil acrylics - they usually come in sets. I use only acrylics - no enamels of any kind.

The sculpty I used was super sculpty...and it was not easy. Seems that when you work with one piece of sculpty for awhile, it tends to get a little sticky and diffucult to manage  - suffice to say that the face mask was trial and error before I finally got it right.

Thanks again!
