Saga Collection '06 / Re: TRU Exclusive Endor AT-AT
« on: June 13, 2006, 12:10 AM »
Like many, I missed the opportunity to purchase these at retail.  I am also in tears now knowing some of you got a hold of these at $20. :'(

I was really hoping for a hoth version with all the bells and whistles.  I can maybe see someone buying 2 or more for their hoth diorama (I would be one of the crazy few).  This endor version just doesn't say "buy more".  The POTJ biker scout seems a little dull now since we have the VTSC version.

Even as much as this costs,  I know I won't be able to hold back when I see these staring back at me at TRU.  On another note, I feel sorry for the kids who will be begging their parents when this comes out.

I got it today
I was disapoited on how flimsy the pauldrons were. I thought they would be like the Rots comnader pauldrons, you know stiff.
Oh well.

These are out at most of the TRU in my area, but in very limited quantities.

I agree, the pauldrons are disappointing.  But I kinda knew what I was going to get with this set:
Fordo: Nice kit bashing.
ARC troopers: Good repaint. Better than the original greyish blue.  I wish these
were kit bashed more like Fordo with a little more articulation.
Heavy gunner: My least favorite.  Not a fan of the AT-RT head sculpt.  I would
of been happy with another ARC trooper.

Unlike "Skirmish in the Senate", I don't think I will go overboard on buying this set.  Overall, a nice set; but not a great set to add to my clone army.

More "no's" then "yes's".  Hmmmm, sounds like the capital one credit card commercial with David Spade.  I have to agree with most of you: disappointed, waste of time, kick in the b****.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: TRU Exclusive Dagobah X-Wing
« on: June 6, 2006, 04:52 PM »
Even though we may never see a new dagobah playset, this is a great addition to my dagobah diorama.

X-Wing: I like the new "white" body as oppose to the grey.
Luke: Nice kit bashing.
R2:  I will probably end up using the "OTC dagobah R2".
Swamp muck:  Nice attention to the details, may I have some more please?
Creature: From the looks of it, it looks like it can't swim in the bog on the
                dagobah playset; thank God.

I will be acquiring two.

Congrats on the new acquisition Ire!  :)  I have a clone addiction myself.  "Uh.....no I don't.....what addiction.....? ;)

In my scenario, Iam being told the availability of the item has changed.  It is actually not yet released, but they will keep the item on order for me until it is released.  When it becomes available, the status of the item on my account will change from not yet released to its new availability. ???

For some people, orders have been cancelled.  For some, release dates are pushed back until July/August.  For the love of God amazon, get it right!

Other Collectibles / Re: Unleashed figures
« on: May 25, 2006, 05:17 PM »
These are starting to hit in my area as well.  Like a lot of people have already stated, "what the hell is up with the shocktrooper's head?!  He looks like that one dude with his head shrunken in the waiting room scene in "Beetlejuice".

Of all the characters to screw up hasbro. :(

Saga Collection '06 / Re: 2006 vOTC (or vTSC) - now with pics!
« on: May 25, 2006, 05:04 PM »
This line rocks!!  Like a lot of people, I bought two sets.  One set to keep boxed, and one set to open for display, and of course for the lord Lucas figure.
I am currently at 10 and counting on the biker scouts.  I can't stop raving about this figure.  Hats off to hasbro, again.

For me, the $11.99 price tag justifies what I am getting for the buck.  I am getting a little irritated of the kit-bashed repacks.  The idea of a SA figure with a vintage card and a clamshell to go with is just brilliant.  I hope hasbro ends up making all the figures from the vintage line. ;)

Saga Dagobah X-Wing (accurate in scale, very black-looking thrusters, some features and a working cockpit with a little hatch behind the seat, came with a filthy sludge-covered green R2D2 and some gear that was recently reprinted with TSC Hoth R2D2)

I would be down for the version mentioned above.  By now, we have updated versions of dagobah luke, yoda, obi/spirit and R2.  How about a "updated dagobah playset" to go with all our new toys.  "Hasbro, are you listening?"

1.VOTC/SA Bespin Luke
2.VOTC/SA Bespin Han
3.VOTC/SA 4-LOM
4.VOTC/SA Zuckuss
5.VOTC/SA Bossk
6.VOTC/SA Dengar
7.VOTC/SA IG-88
8.VOTC/SA Snowtrooper(time to go broke)
9.VOTC/SA Luke/hoth gear
10.VOTC/SA Han/hoth gear

Yes, I am a slave to the VOTC line.  I am getting to the point where I would rather pay up the butt then buy kit-bashed figures with bad sculpts.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: ? for openers
« on: May 22, 2006, 05:42 AM »
It depends...

My TF Vader stays carded because, to me, that item is only interested carded because it is only interesting with value behind it...  Without value, it's a Vader with silver paint all over it...  if I wanted that, which is basically worthless, I'd spray paint one. :)  Carded is all that keeps the piece "interesting" to me, even without wanting to sell it.

I would have to agree.  I have never sold one piece of SW item nor do I ever plan to.  For me, it's not about "how much am I going to get for this someday?"  It's all about having one carded or boxed to admire like fine art, and one or more to open to appreciate the product.

My plan is to give it all to my future children someday.  I hope they learn to appreciate the collection but who knows if they will be into Star Wars.  They might not appreciate it at all so they can keep it or sell it if they wish.

The bottom line for me is "Collect it for the love of it!".

« on: May 21, 2006, 07:21 PM »
I gave in to the online ordering on May 2nd and received my 2 gunships last week from Amazon.  I got two more on the way but it is pushed back until June 5th.   I did not want to go through the ROTS gunship hunt again during it's initial release.  I haven't opened them yet as I am in the process of doing some inventory on my collection.

By now, I hope hasbro realizes the gunships sells almost as well as the millenium falcon.

89

For ****'s sake, if you're too stupid to even know what you're scalping, you shouldn't be allowed to sell it.   ::)

LOL, that is just too funny!!
I have only been able to find UGH Han, Vader, Boba, Snowtrooper.  I have to admit, hasbro got alot of people by the b**** with this.  The marketing team at hasbro will
definitely meet in hell someday. :P
