I guess that new sandtrooper is the ultra articulated Stomtrooper that's been rumored. Can't wait to see one on a single card.

Haven't heard about that rumor, but it does sound like some pretty cool upgrades to the sandtrooper.  Too bad I already have 50+ prior versions that will one day be obsolete.   :P

The Legacy Collection / Re: 2009: Worst Distribution Year Ever?
« on: October 3, 2009, 02:45 PM »
Hasbro's very honest answers in the QNA this week about their doubts on prodouct levels and distribution for Legacy, and the fact they're not shipping any to Canada, has nudged me toward pre-ordering everything online.  I don't do as many runs as I used to, and I think HTS will be as a good a source as any, but I'm not taking any chances.

That's probably the smart thing to do as a collector.  My concern is that when sales rates decline at retail because we're all ordering online, there will no longer be any reason for retailers to carry anything but CW for the kids.  If its not turning fast enough at Wal-Mart and Target, the Legacy line will go away.   :-\

 ???  Can you even read?

Here's hoping you don't "wander through live" like this.  Maybe you should get that six-year-old helper to proof your posts.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Toyfare 2009 Fan's Choice Voting

For that to happen at over 20 Star Wars collecting sites that had different criteria for conducting their polls?  Then it starts sounding far-fetched.  Especially since some sites were only accepting submissions from forum members who were registered before the Fan Choice Poll was announced.

Maybe you missed this a few posts above, Nick:

I spoke with some administrators at a few other sites and they too flushed out the "cheaters", but I didn't speak with everyone at every site, and I noticed the same stuff went on at other site's forums.

Some seemed to catch it, others did not, or didn't pay close enough attention to bother.  The same sock accounts were turning up at most boards though, so it's no shock this was fairly wide spread.

I would not be at all surprised if it was spread to most of SW sites involved.  If someone is willing to make fake accounts at 4-5 sites, then why not 19-20 sites?  It really doesn't take that long to register.  I pretty much just stay with JD and Yak (where this also happened), but which sites limited entries to existing members?  As Jesse points out, some sites were contacted and some caught it, but likely others that weren't paying attention did not.  If 5 or 6 sites had Jocasta Nu show up as a top vote, that's probably all it took for Hasbro to think its a real fan favorite.

Outside all that, I know of zero people who would put Jocast Nu in their actual top 30 most desired figures.  I'm sure there are some, but why in the world would anyone want a librarian action figure?   ???

A local Target here in Minnesota raised the price of Marvel Universe figures from $7.99 to $9.29. :o  That's about the same price K-Mart sells them for.  I hope this price increase won't be happening at all Targets. :(

Wow, that's ridiculous.  Which of our Targets did you see this at?

I would not be so quick to say that there were any kind of shenanigans regarding Jocasta Nu.  She's ranked fairly high in figure polls over the past few years.  And I think that given some remarks from a certain Hasbro staffer (who has moved off Star Wars to another line, btw) in opposition to Jocasta Nu has somewhat galvanized the collecting community to back the Jedi archivist.

There's still the matter of ToyFare's poll to take into account.  And that can still shake out any one of a number of ways.

Um, it's a known fact that there shenanigans regarding Jocasta Nu on this site and others.   ::)

I'm surprised that Jocasta Nu made it given the widespread communication on voting fraud for that figure.  Did JD or any other sites communicate that this was happening back to Hasbro?  Just curious how aware of the issue they are given that response.   >:(

I don't think it's appropriate for you to insult me based upon your own shortcomings.  It's really not my fault that you aren't smart enough to figure out how the standings work.

A six year old could study the standings and figure out that they're based upon record first, then total points.

Like I said - you're a crusty PMSer.  Read my post - I figured out the alternative to Head-to-Head, but we don't do that in any of my other leagues, so I asked for confirmation.  It is 100% your fault that you decided to make a big deal out of a pretty innocent question.

I nabbed the Maria Hill/Iron Man Legends 2pack at TRU today.  Never thought I'd see this at retail.  Not bad all things considered, but strange to buy the larger size figures again after so long!

Finally came across the Iron Man/Spiderwoman Secret Wars pack tonight.  Didn't really need my 20th Iron Man  ::), but he actually looks pretty good.  I did have to get the Spiderwoman whomever she was packed with - definitely one of the best MU figs so far!

Is the tie-breaker in our league head-to-head or total points?

Total points.  Just as the placings are determined right now by win/loss record, then total points.  A might early to be thinking of the playoffs though, doncha think?

Well, per my post I was just curious about the standings.  I certainly won't complain about being in front of...

Dude knows everything there is to know about football but can't figure out the standings. . .

Did I ever say that I knew everything there is to know about football?  Seriously, how is it possible for you to have PMS every day of the month?  Lighten up.

Not that anybody cares....but

Transformers 3 - 07/01/11

Yay!  I'll go see 3, though I was not a big fan of 2.  Hopefully they get back to the formula that made the first one such a big hit (good story, lots of action, make it fun).

Dressel - I'll trade a RB for Moss if you're interested.   :)

I'm really excited for this Monday's game.

It's a little known fact but Favre actually used to play for the Packers.  ;)

I'll admit I'm a little worried about the outcome, but definitely excited about the game.  Hopefully the Pack remembers to bring their offensive line this time.

Just remember that if the Packers win you have to be gracious in victory, but if the Vikings win I don't.  ;)

Okay, but remember if the Vikings win, they needed a Packers QB to do it.   ;D
