Looks like Tatooine is the next wave...(based on 411, what DePriest said etc)
Pretty sure this is the lineup
Jawa w/ LIN Droid
Biggs (Academy)
Darth Vader
Stormtrooper
Elis Herlot
Miyoom Onith
Luke Skywalker (McQuarrie) (could be Tatooine Luke and rumored McQ Chewie is also in this wave)
Which is cool, I've always wanted this thing
(http://index.echostation.com/trilogy/miningdroid.jpg)
I hope its Freaky Tall Jawa too!
-
Man oh man. The first 3 waves of '07 in the 30 AC look like possibly 3 of the best waves ever.

Ya, that's when the fun ends and the repacks begin. Wait, I forgot, that's what Legends is for, right?
-
Luke Skywalker (McQuarrie) (could be Tatooine Luke and rumored McQ Chewie is also in this wave)
r2dtoys is listing (http://www.r2dtoys.com/store/store.pl?action=search&category=97&textsearch=&sub_category=-1&sub_category2=-1&id=2363) the Chewie for this wave. According to the Q & A's, it sounds like just one McQ figure per wave. I'm guessing that it'll be a regular Luke, packed in with the moisture vaporator, and that we'll see the McQ Luke later in the year.
-
This sounds very nice, except of course for the Vader. God, another Vader? Why not use his spot for a VOTC Stormtrooper or an Evolutions Sandtrooper?
-
Sounds like a good wave. Anyone want to provide pics of Miyoon and Elis? I have no idea who they are.
-
Sweet mining droid... I wonder if/how they'll pull off the transparent dome with lights inside? Given the lack of moving parts on the droid, I think light-up is a feature I'd dig on that one.
-

Because there is already one stormtrooper in that wave and we MUST get the coin album with that Vader :)
Just joking. I know what you mean. They went a few waves without a Vader...that's a record for Hasbro I think.
-
This looks like a great wave. I'm excited we're getting 2 never-before-made cantina aliens, and can't wait for the new Jawa.
-

Check out this thread (Who's Left From the Cantina (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=13507.0)) that Scott started a while back. That'll show both Elis and Miyoon, plus a bunch of the other background creatures.
Interesting wave!! Hasbro's done a good job so far on figure selection. Love that they're bring out 2 more cantina patrons, the LIN droid, Academy Biggs, and removeable helmet Stormie.
-
Anyone want to provide pics of Miyoon and Elis?
Here we are:
Elis Helrot
(http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/c/cf/Givi.jpg)
Miyoom Onith
(http://www.andymangels.com/images/nightlily.jpg)
This last pic is of the same race, but not actually Miyoom. Somebody had a great pic of her drinking through her snoot at the bar.
-
Elis looks like Scream. ;D
-
wave 1: very good
wave 2: figures i am not interested in
wave 3:
much better this wave, than the first one, i like the two cantina aliens and the jawa, but i think i won't add the other figures to my wish list
i read something about miyoom on wookiepedia, sounds like an interesting character
-
If thats the wave, it wont be too bad. The only ones i have no real interest in are the McQuarrie figure and Vader (unless they do something very different with it?) I will buy them all for the coins so it doesnt really matter. As for the Jawa, i hope it comes with the LIN droid. For some reason I have wanted one for a while as well.
-
Here we are:
Elis Helrot
(http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/c/cf/Givi.jpg)
Actually, that's a great pic, Daigo-bah, since it actually has Miyoom Onith in the background! ;D
-
The droid pack-in is a great surprise, can be use for more than one diorama. Great sounding wave, I suspect pictures will be showing up shortly.
-
Wow! Those certainly are unique aliens. I'm even more pumped for this wave now (minus Vader).
-
wow hasbro is really starting to show some good figures for next year. lets just hope the rest of the series is just as good.
-
i cant wait! elis helrot's one ive wanted for a long time! ;D
-
wow hasbro is really starting to show some good figures for next year. lets just hope the rest of the series is just as good.
Yeah. Now that I think of it, I always thought '06 was a good year, but it's looking like '07 might be even better.
-
i actually think thats not saying much to be honest.
ive noticed that hasbro said there'd be less repacks/paints/hashes this year, and when you think about it: theyve already snuck em in like with R2, Obi-Wan, Orange Parjai, and Mcq. Stormy, and it looks like Han is modeled off of the VOTC sculpt: how many are left? it leads me to think that this year is gonna keep getting better before it gets worse as far as number of new sculpts goes. and these new sculpts have all seemed to be figs in pretty high demand. we just may see some of the new figs weve wanted for a long time (yarna, ak-rev, ICMG, owen, beru, cliegg, bultar, etc.)
To sum all of this up: I think next year's gonna be GREAT!!!
-
2006 was a good year for new figures, it was just that there weren't that many. 2007 is looking really interesting at this point. I'm also excited that the in a recent interview Hasbro said that the McQuarrie figures will continue past the already mentioned 8. WooHoo!!
I agree that this wave will probably have a Tattoine Luke, instead of McLuke. I am starting to think that the moisture vaporator will be spread out over all the figures in the wave...
-
This (http://www.4-inches.de/inhalt/home.htm) would seem to suggest that the Luke is definitely a Tatooine one (with the vaparator), which will be cool. I've been wondering for a while if the Vader isn't the ANH tin set one, maybe with the helmet glued down. That's what I'm betting.
-
i wondered why the other cantina alien is missing, or is it beacause of my bad english :-\
-

I was kind of surprised to see the bio on this figure. I'm *hoping* that this version of Vader will come with Ben's cloak and lightsaber hilt. I hope whoever came up with this idea at Hasbro thinks the way I do. But it would definitely make sense if this version was the ANH tin sculpt.
-
no miiyoom? :( ???
ELIS HELROTS BEING MA-ADE! ELIS HELROTS BEING MA-ADE! Yes yes yes yes! Best year ever!
-

Neat idea, that would be a pleasent surprise.
-
I'm hoping Tin Set Vader re-hash w/ Shaw head.
-
I'm hoping Tin Set Vader re-hash w/ Shaw head.
I want that eventually too, but that wouldn't fit this wave (his face wasn't revealed on Tatooine).
-
he didnt even set foot on tatooine. tin set vader, glued down helmet, ok by me.
-
Oooh...
Biggs!
Luke!
Vader!
Chewie!
-
sweetness!
-
Wow! Thanks Jeff! Cool images. If that head sculpt is the final one, that's appears to be the best Luke I've seen.
-
More... :)
Elis!
Jawa & LIN!
Stormtrooper!

-
Wow! Thanks Jeff! Cool images. If that head sculpt is the final one, that's appears to be the best Luke I've seen.
I agree, that might be the best ANH Luke ever made, except for the lack of knee articulation.
-
Chewie!
I think I just filled the cup... :o
-
The Jawa is awesome!
-
Wow, everything continues to look great for the 30AC. Thanks for the pics Jeff. I agree with what has been said, that Luke headsculpt looks like it might be the best yet. If it had articulated knees, it would be about perfect by what we can see in this picture. The Jawa and LIN droid pack is cool too, as well as Biggs, Elis, and that Concept Chewie is all sorts of cool. Another whole wave that I'll be picking up this year :).
-
Even the Biggs and Luke are awesome !
-
This would have been the greatest wave ever if they included Bea Arthur as Ackmena!
Nice job Hasbro!
-
Wow. Absolutely blown away. :) I'm a Jawa nut, so I'm probably more excited about that than anything, but Luke is above and beyond what I expected. Biggs looks great, Vader is exactly what some folks on here thought he would be (and he does look like the Tin Set/Evo version from here), and Chewie is nuts. I wasn't expecting this version (there's a more Chewie Chewie I thought they'd go with) but it looks fantastic. I could be buying every figure this year... it's been awhile since that happened.
-
Hell yeah. I've been wanting an action figure of that Chewie since I first saw SW concept art.
Elis & the Jawa look great too. I'm probably buying everything this year too. :)
-
Let's make it three in a row (praises and geographically located members)...this wave looks great - what are we now - four for four?
-
Wow! Nice looking wave IMO. This wave along with the other one and Yavin wave and Vintage and the McQuarrie figures have me pretty psyched up for the upcoming year now. There is plenty of cool stuff to get IMO.
Vader - Love the Kenobi cloak and lightsaber hilt accesories there.
Luke - Nice expression and hair and some decent SA in the upper body at least.
McQuarrie Chewbacca - This is just plain fun here. Love it.
Hellrot - It may not be to everyone's liking but for what he is a background dude he's ok with me.
Jawa and LIN-V8K - I mainly wanted this for the droid but the Jawa is nice to.
Stormtrooper - Well duh this is nice. Now everyone can army build it at regular price.
Biggs - Looks great to me. This is the most nostalgic figure of the year for me. I have wanted this guy since I was kid. Nice job there Hasbro. Glad you finally made it and it looks good IMO.
-
Crap gonna have to get another Vader.
Biggs-cool. Is he considered EU in this form? Probably just 1, more if those knees are articulated.
Luke-I don't know, arms are cool and head is descent but I really don't think I'll need another Tat Luke.
Chewie- a definate, but probably only 1.
Ellis-Scream guy, alright for what he is. Just 1.
Stormie-as many as I can get my hands on, always awesome.
Jawa-only for the LIN, never really liked Jawas but this is by far the best ever.
-

HOLY CRAP!!! How the hell did I call that?!?!?!
This wave looks very cool. Not sure how the Moisture Vaporator would fit with that particular Luke. It seems like that version is supposed to be Luke at Ben's hut. Where does a moisture vaporator come into play there?
Biggs - Very cool. Is he going to have the cloak?
Elis Helrot - The likeness looks dead on. I'm just wondering if he can actually sit.
Jawa w/ LIN Droid - It's nice to see a new Jawa sculpt here. The paintjob on the LIN looks a little weird, but it might be attributable to lighting.
Chewbacca - I was wondering which concept drawing of Chewbacca we were going to get, and now we know. I like the execution on this one.
No sign of Mi'yoom Onith, huh? Oh well.
-
Holy crow! These are phenomenal!
Kevin
-
Elis!
That's what happens when you drink too much firewater.
And wow for the rest of the wave... just when I think about giving it up. ::)
-
:o :o :o 8)This year is gonna blow me away :P
-
These look great.Love the wind swept hair on Luke, and the sandals on Ghost Face. Biggs is a deam come true, however, where's his cape? We need the cape!
Chewie is beyond my expectations. It's as if Hasbro drilled a hole in my head and poked around to see how I wanted the figures to look!
-
These really are phenomenal...I'll be getting every single one of them. And I'm glad I passed on the tin set, because I'd much rather have this Vader. Top notch work!
As for Biggs' cape, I know a certain POTF2 General Lando figure that will be donating his to Biggs...
-
These figures look spectacular...but, I possibly have 1 small gripe(really small ;))it appears to me that, for some reason, the legs seem consistently small and out of proportion on alot of these pics from both waves.
Spectacular figs though
DS
-
Great stuff. This all look awesome and i love the Vader with the cloak. The only thing i do not like is the McQuarrie Series. They just do nothing for me. I enjoy the holiday Boba Fett very much though.
-
Elis and the Jawa rock... I'll definitely have to pick those two up.
-
OH MY GOD.
These are PHENOMINAL. I want every one of them. But I'll probably pass on Vader and Luke until we get more details about articulation, accessories, etc.
-
im actually not as impressed, sorry. chewbacca is just ugly, luke i need no more, and stormy ive just had enough of the votc sculpt, we can never see it again for all i care. sorry guys.
however, the VADER, ELIS, AND JAWA ROCK! vader looks awesome, this couldve been the only one ever released! elis, well duh, ive wanted him forever, and A NEW JAWA sculpt that INCLUDES a BADASS DROID! SWEET! ;D
-
Wow. I was kind of losing interest in collecting, but those BASTARDS at Hasbro have to go and keep improving things. I'm amazed and will buy each of these. That Chewie's a great generic alien, even if I'm not interested in it as a "concept" character.
Radical.
-
Some really tough pictures to judge the greatness of any given figure... I'll give some early thoughts though.
-McBacca... Without a doubt this and Fett were the two Concept Figures I was geeked about... Chewie's such a freak he fits into any diorama by himself, so I really wanted his ghastly looking freakish face out there to collect at some point. Looks to have above average articulation too... I'm seeing knees and elbow joints there, 2 weapons... He's a freak and I love him!
-Jawa/Droid... THE single droid I've wanted done more than anything is the Mining Droid and that kicks much ass... A new jawa adds diversity, it's cool for sure and has a neat blaster, but the droid I will want in bulk. I love that figure set. Hasbro gets a big thumbs-up and I didn't even want more Jawas, haha.
-Stormtrooper... Who can complain really? SA, and the helmet looks spiffy in that photo. If that's how it looks in person, I'm gonna be broke.
-Vader... I wonder if the Obi cloak is just a plastic stand like piece? That's cool if it is... The figure obviously is somewhat secondary though I love the pose, and it's iconic to say the least. It's about the only way you can innovate on Vader short of a battle damaged one or some other "EU" concept of one. I'll get it for the cloak though, that's damn skippy there.
-Ellis Helrot... Besides Bom Vimdin and Garrouf Lafoe, Helrot is the Cantina Alien highest on my list too! Needless to say this wave's turning out to be a dream come true. I think I see near Super Articulation on this one too, and the sculpt is simply outstanding, as is his bitchin' little pistol... Perfection as long as the articulation holds up. Must have knees, elbows, and wrists atop the routine points to get my thumbs up completely but it's looking like he has it all, maybe even ankles.
-Biggs... I'm mixed right now. Blowing up the photo and lightening it as best I can, the knees don't look articulated and that's simply disappointing to me... Especially given the great look of the figure in general. There's no cloak either, interesting... Either way though, from the waist up it's amazing... SA on the upper body it appears, a bitching pistol with holster, a great headsculpt... Thumbs up. So far just slight disappointment on the knees... I'm hoping my eyes just aren't as good as they used to be. Hasbro's so f'n goofy on articulation though, I mean why skimp that little bit?
Either way, great custom fodder too, and I wholely expect to see Imperial Cadet figures made with this one. :)
-Luke... I was hoping for a SA Farmboy Luke, kind of the definitive version of this figure... They have a start but again I don't see knee joints on him and the head's pretty specifically sculpted for certain scenes. The upper body looks great for poseability though... I can easily see some VOTC Luke legs getting grafted to this figure for full SA if the legs aren't as poseable as I'm hoping they are. Either way, a good Tatooine Luke's been quite some time now... VOTC didn't cut the mustard for many, so this is overdue.
-
Now that I have had more time to stare at these.
Biggs - he has got to have the cape. I will be pissed if he does not. I am thinking they just wanted to show folks with that picture that he does have articulation in the arms. Why they did not make his knees articulated is a disappointment. I was beginning to wonder if they would ever make it. So, I am pretty happy with just having this. That is if the cape is included. Maybe nobody else cares but I am kind of geeked out that he will also have his own coin. The nerd in me enjoys that for some strange reason.
Luke - Yeah it's another Farmboy version. I pray this comes with a moisture vaporator just because I want one. They will probably always have at least one farmboy version every year so long as SW toys are on the market. I agree that he needed leg articulation. Hopefully he will? It's just odd to give these figures articulation in the torso and above but not in the knees. Anyway, I love the wind in the hair look. For that alone they got me. It's nice to see articution in the arms and such. He will be good for several scenes IMO.
Hellrot - Not much to say other the I will get him because I love cantina and Jabba background characters. They could make an entire line of these characters and I'd buy every one of them without blinking. It looks like they nailed his face. I don't know much about his clothing. So, I don't know if it's accurate or not? I hope he can sit down though.
Vader - I am assuming this is the one that comes with the coin album or no? I do not really need another Vader. I love the Kenobi robe with him though. So, in the end I will snatch this up just for that. I do like the clenched Vader fist.
McBacca - Llike someone said earlier he looks great as a stand alone alien. The face is just spectacularly ugly. It does not even really resemble the final Chewbacca. But I am so used that concept art of Chewy that makes this figure that much sweeter for me. I am geeked out on this one.
Jawa and LIN-V8K - Again I wanted this for the droid. The Jawa is a plus. Glad it's a different looking Jawa. I will only need to buy one but glad they made it. I hope they make the Umbrella Droid someday as well.
Stormtrooper - I like the VOTC version so this is a plus. I don't really care for the helmet being removeable. I will just leave it on him. I am glad we can get some of these at regular prices - granted the price increase sucks but it's better than $12 a pop. We can all use more stormtroopers right?
All in all a nice wave.
-
-Stormtrooper... Who can complain really? SA, and the helmet looks spiffy in that photo. If that's how it looks in person, I'm gonna be broke.
I noticed the helmet too - looks like they retooled it to be more in scale. I always thought the VOTC version was a tad too small.
-
This is a great looking wave, not a real loser in the bunch. I don't think I'll even be able to say the same thing about a PT wave.
I'm particularly impressed that Hasbro could actually want me to buy another Vader.
-
I think they're tapped out in regards to how many different 'scene' Vaders they can do.
So far, I like how they've changed things up - Dagobah reveal, the recent Emperor's wrath, etc. -
Are there any specific Vaders anybody here would like to see?
-
Holographic Vader would be my pick, but I think he's only been seen as a mini-hologram.
-
I can't think of a single Vader they haven't done. The hologram like Nicklab said, but I think Hasbro would have done it by now.
-
I can't think of a single Vader they haven't done.
How about funeral pyre Vader?
-
...with attachable flames :P
at this point it wouldn't surprise me if they did a 'Vader pilot' and say the coloring was the internal cockpit reflections on his uniform.
DS
-
I can't think of a single Vader they haven't done.
How about funeral pyre Vader?
Sadly, that's the ONLY Vader figure I would actually cave in a buy...
-
Actually, there is one really odd Vader they could do. While watching ESB the other day, I noticed that when Vader was in Echo Base, his interior "skirt" piece only goes down to his knees. Looks a little Darth Maul. It's a tiny change, but one Hasbro could exploit.
-
Ooh, forgot about him. That would be cool. :)
-
With a little bit of snow too.
-
**** YOU HASBRO! I WANT EVERYTHING NEXT YEAR! >:( :)
Biggs- Awesome, I suspect peg warmer though
Luke- Wow, if he has leg articulation this will be the best farm boy ever!
Hellrot- A good cantina person. Looks like it has leg articulation.
Vader- Damn, another Vader I want.
Mc Bacca-I thought it'd just me the oval shaped Chewie like on the bonus '04 DVD but this is a nice surprise.
Jawa- Awesome, a cool droid with a bonus Jawa much better than last year's R5
Stormie- In Mr. Burns' word "Excellent"
-
How about funeral pyre Vader?
...with attachable flames :P
Nah, with a match and a tiny can of lighter fluid. ;D
-
jawa great
hellrot great
luke is ok
chewbacca(ugly)
not another darth vader
biggs looks quite good
not another trooper
so there are two figures i must have
-
Tell me that's not the sweetest Jawa you've ever seen! I didn't think Hasbro would ever bother putting so much effort into redoing this guy. I need a dozen! :D
(http://www.jedidefender.com/gallery/files/gallery/Conventions/Toy_Fair_2007/Hasbro/TF_2007_Hasbro_0096.jpg)
-
I agree Jesse. I was just noticing the ball jointed elbows for the first time and thinking, "wow, what a nicely detailed figure.)
-
This Vader on the lower left must be the Wave 3 Vader - he's standing on Obi-Wan's cloak! 8)
-
Without a doubt, I agree Jesse. Rob's photo really shows the detail in the articulation... ball jointed elbows AND shoulders, on a Jawa... OUtstanding.
Is he a particular Jawa in the sale scene? The leader? I don't remember one w/vest and pistol in holster like that, but that's fan-frickin'-tastic for a Jawa. The irony, he's just the icing on the cake for me since I am more stoked on the droid. I've wanted the mining droid for a long time now.
-
The Jawa may be my favorite figure of the year - maybe of the line. What's great (beyond the articulation and the detail - good lord) is it appears the orange vest is a separate piece, meaning it might come off with some work, meaning I am buying loads for custom Jawas. ;D
-
What's up with the Moisture Vaporator? Does it come with Luke somehow crammed into the package or is it a separate carded item? Anyone know? Sorry, I haven't seen this discussed before.
And great pics Rob, you did stellar work. I wish you were taking pictures for my photonovels! :-*
:P
-
And great pics Rob, you did stellar work. I wish you were taking pictures for my photonovels! :-*
:P
Thanks! I wasn't happy with some of them - but most of them turned out pretty good I think given the fast pace process of shooting, processing, and uploading as fast as possible.
-
CHEWIE, the vaporator should come with Luke and I assume is multi-part with "some assembly required". the 30th AC bubbles seem to have been a little misleading in how big they are because they sure can pack a lot of toy in when they want to. That's good at the price they're chiming in at.
-

If what we saw is accurate, it should be a separate piece. After we were uploading pics Rob and I were discussing if we thought the vest was separate or not...I'm not sure where Rob stands on it, but say it is either 2 pieces or looks easy enough to turn into 2 pieces once I get several.
-
I was watching HBO today (and they were showing the OT all the way through back to back....)
I was watching the Jawa Sale scene and there are 3 or 4 at the Lars Homestead who are wearing Vests. One in particular is herding the LIN Droid....
Pretty neat stuff. I will have an extra 10 or so LIN Droids for sure, since I am scrapping the Old Jawas with the sky lights in their heads, for this one. I might save the Commtech ones for attempted head swaps, but Ball Jointed Shoulders and Elbows really makes this Jawa my favorite Alien of the year.
-
Paul, keep me in mind for those droids... Mining droids are right up my alley for a diorama/display I've got in the pipeline. I could use the more the merrier and won't be scrapping my old Jawas (though I will be happy to add to the army!).
I will however want a nice LIN army... as odd as that sounds to most people I'm sure. I'm probably the only guy army building a droid like that.
-
I brought these posts over from the JABBA'S PALACE wave thread:
or this
(http://www.yakface.com/jayson/bar.jpg)
Thanks, I dug out my bar pieces this morning and if you put the regular pieces back to back there is enough room between the bar tops (about 1.5") for Wuher to stand, schlepp out drinkings and be an *******. So, you could get away with having 4 corner pieces and 2 straight piece to build a "mini" bar.
Absolutely- not to mention that the curved pieces will not make an accurate curve size for the bar. Not to come down on it for those collectors excited about it, but here is a fairly accurate dimensions pic of the bar from my Cantina dio:
I'm working on my Cantina diorama, so these ideas are intriging. I'm not building a full set like Daigo-Bah, but the bar spacing is going to be tricky. I'll post some photos in the next week or two.
I'm really looking forward to the corner pieces and the two new Cantina aliens. Never cared before, but last years SAGA new Cantina figs & the re-release of the Cantina band got me going! ;D
-
Here is a pic of my ever-changing Cantina diorama. Not as nice as DAIGO-BAH, but I will be happy to get those corner pieces. There are more pics of this in the Collection's forum.

Daigo-Bah's is awesome... too bad we can't get Hasbro to make something like that. But it still is going to look cool with a curved bar section FINALLY!!!
Also - I like how you have both versions of Zutton next to each other there, and your cantina is nicely filled out there without too many figures crowding it. Sometimes it's hard to not overcrowd a scene. :-\
:P
-
RS is reporting (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/This_Just_In_Biggs_WILL_Have_His_Cape_103993.asp) that Biggs will have his cape!

They forgot to bring it to the show? Seriously, sometimes I think Hasbro is run by a couple of 16-year-olds. I wonder what my boss would think if I just forgot to bring a couple of slides from my deck to a presentation... ::)
-
That's good news. I figured I just use one of Dooku's. :)
-
Good News about the cape ;D

Huh? I do have both versions of Zutton Snaggletooth (blue & red), but they are not next to each other. The blue version of Zutton is seated with Greedo, and the red Zutton is on the other side of the bar by himself.

I think he meant that the Red Zutton is next to Takeel in that one photo. (they both represent a Snaggletooth character)

Yep, that's what I meant - Snaggles. ;)

The Holiday Fett is really growing on me. I can't wait to find one.

(clicky the pic to check out the larger pic)
Yeah, it's a small and crappy pic, but it's nice to see that cape added...
-
That's great news about Biggs!
-
Very nice indeed. I am glad Hasbro came through. Do you think they really "forget" it or added it later becuase fans were displeased?
-
They probably did "forget".....
Like they forgot to put Knee articulation on the figure...
I'd rather have that than the cape...
-
Now, if Hasbro can 'remember' to include the poncho with the concept Fett. That'd be cool, too!
-
Almost certainly appears to be soft-goods, but can anyone tell for sure? This figure is so nice that I'm going to make the first OT deleted scene diorama because of it!
-
I hope they eventually do Camie and Fixer.
-
Now up for preorder at EE (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/aff-home.asp?id=JE-405087801&number=HS87500C)

You do know that those are in wave 4, right?

Holy brain fart Batman. :-[
-
Who can blame you, what with Hasbro putting Cantina aliens in what is essentially a Jabba's Palace wave. ???
-
Atleast the stormie is two per case in this & the revision case.
-
SO ordering a case. I forgot about the Cantina aliens for a sec too - but no worries.

-
to quote toyfare back in '97(this was about the pilot version of biggs)
"now if only they'd include a lil black box for my useless a__!"
aside from that i really like this figure, and wish they'd included that scene in the special editions.
i really can't believe Lucas resisted the urge to show off aliens and cgi in a massive entering anchorhead scene.
but of course the scene would ultimately need to be rethought in the editing process, such as where to put it?
in my opinion it should be placed after the dinner table scene and before the binary sunset. or somewhere in there. at least that way Luke's news could have come from his conversation with threepio as well as artoo's message from leia.

Could have been the best EU (are deleted scenes EU?) figure of the year if they would have given him articulated knees....
I really like that one.
-
I'm still digging Biggs for the most part but I agree, there's an extra effort they didn't go with there on his knees. Luke too, but really Luke's hair kind of throws that figure off as well. A true SA Luke Tatooine still doesn't exist which is pretty funny... At least a definitive Luke by most's standards anyway.
Biggs still looks cool in general though, I just know for the hefty price these things cost anymore I'm not fond of seeing any corner cut like that.
-
Biggs isnt that interesting to me and he'll warm for sure. But more for you guys, I guess, to be optimistic...
McChewie and Jawa w/LIN are in a whole different league from the rest of the wave...that being said, it is the best wave revealed for 07 so far, so I aint complaining about the others. Biggs and Stormy are a definite pass though for me.
-
The Stormtrooper's outstanding, I'm surprised anyone will pass... Well, unless you're ok with the VOTC and dont' want more of one guy.
The McChewie is my fav of the wave... Outstandingly freaky.
-
Am I the only one that thinks there are articulated ball joint knees on the Biggs Figure they showed on Hasbro? It looks to me like there is a hint of an inset inside the knee? Maybe I'm crazy (I've been called worse).
-

I'm holding out hope that he'll have ROTS Dooku leg articulation, or at least something similar. Articulation or not, it's still a fantastic looking figure.
-
Ordered myself a case of 3.1, just so I didn't have to fight for Chewie and a couple Stormtroopers. I get a couple extra Marines, Airbornes, and an extra Death Star Gunner this way too.
I guess that just leaves another Jawa or two, if Darby doesn't kill me for them. :)
-

Im just passing because 1) It won't be worth the trouble of tracking down, unlike say Jawa w/LIN 2) The helmet bugs me 3) With a superior sculpt being cleaned up and sold in multiples in a BP that is becoming more and more common in my area (Capture of TIV) I just don't see the point.
McChewie is great, very close second for me though to that Jawa w/LIN. That Jawa w/LIN is outstanding.

Oh, I am so ****** this year.
Hell yeah I'll be over all of those Jawas. ;D The cards are fantastic. Makes me want to collect carded this year. Almost.
-
The more I look at it, the more I feel that Luke is a bad looking figure. Looks like I'm paying $7 for a moisture vaporator. :-\
The rest of the wave is FANTASTIC. I'm getting as many Stormies as I can get my hands on. and I can't wait to have that Chewie.
-
Oh, I am so ****** this year.
Me, too. And I thought I was going to give it up this year.

Yeah, from this view:

it looks like ROTS Anakin or Obi-Wan style arms. And the face looks nothing like on the Hasbro site
-
i want 1 of each except for the trooper. going for 5.
-
Luke looks like he has a wet head like TAC Obi does. ???
-
I think this is supposed to be Luke as he's arrived back at the homestead to find Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru dead.
-
Anyone notice that the Lin Droid's dome is a tad transparent? :D
-
it kinda looks like biggs right leg has articualtion. JUST KINDA. i just notice a lil cut mark looking piece. i could be wrong and am just imagining things but it would be pretty cool if he did.
-
Carded images only make me more excited for that McChewie!
-
I really like that Jawa 2-pack! I'll pickup a couple of those.
McChewie looks like he has a loppy eye.
-
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v438/hockey_77/hasbro_sithInfiltratorAd.jpg)
if you save the picture and zoom in on biggs. (near the v-wing) it looks like he has ball jointed legs. either that or preposed but the one line on his knee makes it really stand out. i just hope that im write with my little " finding" i guess you can call it :-\
-
I'm looking forward to picking up the Jawa/LIN 2-Pack and McChewie. Weren't the two cantina aliens scheduled for this wave?
-

They're arriving with the Jabba's Palace wave. It's not ANH, but Tatooine...
Yeah, I know. Makes sense, doesn't it? ::)

This stormtrooper helmet, to be blunt, looks like ****. I can barely tell it apart from the 1995 POTF2 version.
Hasbro really messed that one up big time.
It's a far cry from the sweet one they showed us at Toy Fair:
-
The packaged Stormie imaged isn't final yet, so here's to hoping that the actual product will look better.
-
At first i was wondering where the top of the vaporator was, but i noticed it hidden behind luke.

This wave is up for pre-order at NFC.

Yes - I totally agree - they really screwed up the helmet. I would prefer the Tantive IV Stormtrooper helmet. Instead, this one looks like the one that comes with the Comic Pack Han Solo figure. Just very little sculpt details at all, and looks poofy.
:P
-
Sweet Jebus. I picked the wrong year to quit collecting this ****.
Love the packaging. Love the figures. First pack-in that is worth collecting.
Divorce pending.
-
Does anyone actually like that Luke ??? Horrible IMO. Worst headsculpt next to the POTF2 versions. The body is just as horrid and reminds me of the past few Mace Windu's.
-
To be honest, when we first got a look at the "press" pics of that Luke, I thought it looked pretty sweet (lack of knee articulation aside). Now seeing it, it doesn't look too good in the package. Hopefully its just the way it is posed, and will look better out, but the headsculpt and arms look a little goofy. I'll still pick it up, but I'm a little less excited about the actual figure now than I was initially. Its funny, for all the different Tatooine Lukes we've gotten (and all the jokes about it), it doesn't seem like we still have really gotten a truly "ultimate" ANH Tatooine Luke Skywalker.
-

Yup. I have a theory that Hasbro has at least one sculptor with extreme visual impairment. He's largely responsible for Luke, Leia, and Mace headsculpts. He's worked for Hasbro since 1995. He has tenure.
-
That figure should be called "Moisture Vaporator" with Luke Accessory.
It looked bad in person too (Luke that is, the Vaporator was nice).
I really wish we could get a Farm Boy Luke with Clone Trooper Type articulation...but I guess there is always "Next year"......
-
I like em all except Luke, he looks like Grand Moff Tarkins son.
-
I liked the Luke headsculpt in some picture I saw originally. But yes, that carded one is terrible. The arms are crap to it appears. And of course the static legs blow as well. However, I want the Vaporator badly so purchase a couple I shall.
I do hope they change that Stormtrooper helmet. I doubt it though. It's funny how Hasbro will have decent headsculpts originally like Mace and Luke did. Then the finally product is subpar. Odd. If those are indeed the final products? Plus, that vintage Han Hoth is better with the hooded version. I guess LFL has not approved. Why? I have no idea? They approved everything else it seems like.
-

Moisture Vaporator with human custom fodder accessory.

Just "subpar" would actually be an improvement over the Mace headsculpt we wound up with. It wound up not looking a thing like Samuel L. Feast your eyes on what could have been:
-
Yeah, that's the head sculpt I was talking about on Mace. The one we got is not to good. It's okay and all but that head would have been great.
-
You really have to wonder how, or why, they decided to go with the Mace we got. I cannot conceive of an acceptable explanation. I did cave and buy 1 Mace, I will not buy another. I wanted this figure for about 5 scenes, but this figure just does not make the grade.
-
That figure should be called "Moisture Vaporator" with Luke Accessory.
;D
I have to agree with you guys on the Luke.
-
Sorry if this was pointed out and I missed it, but GH posted some bigger pictures (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=6345&zoneid=2) of some of these guys. Luke really does look strange, especially how he's posed in the package as though his left arm's broken. I may cave for the vaporator, though. As for Vader, they point out that in the loose picture, he seems to have a removable helmet, which I assume makes him the Vader from the ANH tin set.
-
I can live with the Mace head... so many characters I think they do a bad job on the heads, and the Mace to me is about average... not great, but not horrible. By far my favorite Mace though, I might pick up a few more... from what I can tell though, he is selling really well (so far at least).
As for the Luke, barf. But the vaporator - hot as Bianca Beauchamp. Count me in for several.
:P

I don't know, I guess when you compare it to this it's not so bad:
But that's not saying a whole hell of a lot.
-
I hope I'm just seeing things but well the unlit lightsaber hilt, which Luke has, does that look like Darth Vader's lightsaber hilt?
-
Sadly, my favorite Mace figure so far is still the 1999 sneak preview version. ::)
-
I hope I'm just seeing things but well the unlit lightsaber hilt, which Luke has, does that look like Darth Vader's lightsaber hilt?
Hasbro said in the Q&A a couple weeks ago that they know it's the wrong hilt for Luke (both this one and the Wave 2 Yavin Luke), but it's, and I quote, "a hilt that gets us pretty close. It's something that we are aware of and will be looking at for future releases.
-
What's the deal with the carded picts of the Stormtrooper helmet? I know it may not be final, but it looks a little fat.
-
What's the deal with the carded picts of the Stormtrooper helmet? I know it may not be final, but it looks a little fat.
Yep, my thoughts exactly... looks almost as bad as this helmet...
:P
-
I'm pretty sure it is that helmet. Unless Hasbro wants to spend more money, I think the carded Stormie and the comic pack Han/Luke Stormies are all of the same body.
-
Whoa! This really IS terrible! Looks like I'll be saving a lot of dough on this wave!
What in the HELL kind of helmet sculpt is that? Yikes!!!!
:P
-
The helmet is removable hence the fatty status
-
wow that is a pretty bad helmet. sign me up for 6 :)
-
Yeah, but the tin helmet isn't that fatty... at least the ones I have aren't. Maybe this figure will be better in person, but I'll be passing on it most likely (which is a good thing!).
I think they should have left well enough alone on this one, and just kept it as a non-removable helmet.
:P
-
Looks like a fine helmet sculpt to me... After all, I always felt the VOTC headsculpt was underscaled. Stop nitpicking and look on the bright side, now it's to-scale!
-
I think they should have left well enough alone on this one, and just kept it as a non-removable helmet.
:P
Yes, I agree. Damn them for giving a toy more play value. >:(
:P
-
The helmet looks good to me, it just has a terrible paint job. Still getting as many as possible.
-

Compared to this:

Because I don't really see the difference.
Now, feast your eyes on the Tantive IV stormie helmet. Now you have to see the difference:

-
The helmet looks good to me, it just has a terrible paint job. Still getting as many as possible.
I think that's part of the problem everyone is having with the helmet so far, is that this example has as ****** paintjob. Also the head seems to be angled looking down so the helmet seems too close to the chest which is just a problem caused by the person who took the photo at Hasbro when they put the figure together. Sign me up for 1 million. :D
-
The Tantive IV stormie is without question still my definitive stormtrooper sculpt, helmet to toes. Too bad I havent found any yet, but it's certainly 5x better than any other stormie released!
-

Well, if you go in for a cleaned up Sandtrooper posing as a Stormtrooper, then I guess that works for you. ;D Because that Tantive IV Stormtrooper is just that: the Evolutions Sandtrooper with a clean paintjob. But if you compare the belts of a Sandtrooper and a Stormtrooper you will notice some very distinct differences.
Stormtrooper armor (http://www.amazingstarships.com/models/starwars/stormtrooper.JPG)
Sandtrooper armor (http://www.tk409.com/images/pouches/anh1.jpg)
-
i think the TAc one looks good. so what if the helmet is bulky its still good and it will probably look better in person. im happy for this wave and cant wait. and the helmet looks A LOT better then the POTF figure. and who is to say that the evo clone doesnt have a small head? maybe this one is properly scaled and evo isnt...
-
I'll take an extra ammo pouch on my utility belt over a 1995 POTF2 stormie helmet.
-
I gotta be honest, I'm the king of complaints about figures but the TAC Stormtrooper's still an outstanding figure to me... I'll be getting as many as I can still. I do think the helmet's a bit of poo, but that's either fixable (if you were so inclined) or so minor to me that I doubt I'll be deterred by it.
I don't think Mace is ALL that bad either, haha... I'm actually more annoyed by his skirt piece than his headsculpt.
Either way I'm still pretty geeked for 2007... This is, at least early, shaping up to be a better year than '06.
-

That about sums it up for me... I'm happy that some people do like figure though, but to me this helmet is terrible. The nozzels aren't even painted right.
This helmet looks like it sat in an oven and started melting.
Make me glad I'm up to over 30 of the Tantive Stormies...
:P
-
there is one thing about the stormy helmet that can be argued.
its to big..meaning its head must be to scale. now if people want a smaller helmet what do you think will have to happen? omg a smaller head. now buyers would have a new thing to complain about. you guys who dont like the helmet will never be satisfied no matter what hasbro would do to correct it. i think its fine and something that i have no problem living with.
-
The helmet looks to scrunched up. Hasbro please don't make this your biggest mistake of the year!
-
Never like the Evolutions/Tative Stormtrooper that much. The fact that it can't move it's waist or torso is inexcusable in my book. The 3o AC Trooper looks fine. Those helmets were big and goofy in the moves.
-
As always, I reserve my judgement of this Stormtrooper until I've got one to hold and examine up close. Because I've seen all the pics that everyone is talking about, but I notice other things that don't get talked about. Like the fact that the one in the carded pic isn't necessarily a final, production version. Notice the lack of a coin in the package? And what about the low resolution of the picture itself? For me those things make me leary of prematurely judging this figure.
-
Bear in mind our Stormtrooper Story we broke too. (http://www.jedidefender.com/newspro/fullnews.cgi?newsid1167420114,45939,)
His helmet's much nicer...
-
Odds are the figure on the card are production samples sans the coins.
That would lead me to believe Jesse's images (above) are hand made protos.
Regardless, it's a step in the right direction - we have a basic stormie (kids will eat these up) on the pegs for the first time since, what, the OTC release?
-

Yep, and that was the suckery Commetech Sculpt. :-X
-

Yeah, and that's definitely a good thing - regardless of how this helmet turns out. I'd still like to see OT troops, like the Stormtrooper, Snowtrooper, and Biker Scout, available on the pegs as often as we've seen clones over the past 3 years.
-

Since we are getting some large pack-ins this year, it'd be nice to get a nice Speeder Bike along with a carded VTSC Biker Scout
-
That's a great idea. I really hope we do eventually see a new Speeder Bike, and if so, Hasbro is smart enough to at least put out a basic carded VTSC Biker Scout alongside it this year. This would be a good year to do it actually, since that figure is set to be released in the "Saga Legends" assortment.
-
I've had notification that my wave 3 will be with me in the next 7 days or so and interestingly it may be coming with a colour variant of both the Galactic Marine and Airborne Trooper
-
With the all new SA Biker Scout (Kudos to you Hasbro, that's some super fine work you did), fans are now anxious to know if an all new Speederbike is in the works? The original's sculpt is detailed, however the bike isn't particularly sturdy and it's a bit oversized. A smaller (properly scaled) bike with maybe a clear stand for a hovering effect would be incredibly popular given how many Biker Scouts a lot of us own I'd imagine. (JD, 7/26/06)
Interesting idea. We don't have a new one in the works, but if we do a new bike, we'll take your feedback into account.
Maybe that bike'll happen? :) It's obviously been on my wishlist for a while, haha.
-

I'm def getting Biggs--for novelty value, since he's from a cut scene.
Luke's headsculpt is complete garbage, although the body is fine. But I just realized he comes with a vaporator, so now I have to get him. :-\
Mayyyyyybe Chewie--the figure is a smashing rendition of the concept art, but he isn't something that I can't live without. Although I'm toying with getting one and trying to do a headswap with a normal Wookiee, to get a Wookiee warrior with vest, ammo belts, etc.
Jawa looks great but I can't get everything I want.
So:
1x Biggs
1x Luke
maybe 1x Chewie
Pass on the others.
-
I would not be surprised if Hasbro releases these different color Clones. Same thing happened with the ROTS line when the Green Clone Commander, Black Pilot and Shocktrooper mysteriously showed up. They came out of nowhere and most thought they were customs, since pics never leaked.

Maybe it's just battle damage. Not too much else makes sense methinks. Unless they put Target Order 66 colors in Wave 3.

That thought crossed my mind, but I have a feeling they'll do something like the Shocktrooper version of an airborne and the 501st version of the Marine.
-
^Agreed. Or a shocktrooper marine.
At this rate we'll soon have every legion variant on every sculpt (AT-RT driver, marine, airborne, BARC, etc.) I think the only one that hasn't been tapped at all is the BARC trooper--we've only gotten him in the camo.
-
I think it'd be nice (although it's probably just me) if Hasbro did an all-white Marine as they were depicted in one of the Clone Wars comics. Still, I doubt that will happen since the VTSC/VTAC Snowtrooper is coming out shortly and this would look too much like it from a non-collector standpoint.
I was under the impression that the Marines were an elite unit, exclusively under the command of Bacara and Ki-Adi-Mundi. I guess that every Jedi got their own, though. CRANK OUT THE TOYS, HASBRO! ::)
-
Has there been any EU of a clone wearing similar armor like Cody? It almost seems odd that he'd be the only one to have it. Plus it'd give hasbro a chance to redeem the figure somewhat if they went back and gave him better legs.
-
I'm hoping the possible Galactic Marine variation is the all white version. Would anyone who army builds not want a few of them?
For reference Fritzkrieg made some damn good ones...
:P
-
I am too. I've been waiting for it from the start. :)
-
That all white Galactic Marine would be a great companion piece to any kind of a Dark Times themed Comic 2-pack (or would that be from the last issues of Republic?). I don't know if they ever ID'd that Clone Commander by name, but that would be equally welcome!
***EDIT - Okay, that would be Commander Keller (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Keller_%28clone_commander%29). And here are his troops, too.

Guys, for the record I don't expect much to come of the "variation" on color there... I don't expect anything to come of it, other than R2-DToys to have listed something that isn't really a story. As was pointed out to me by our administrator, they were listing the clones as UGH then changed them...
Don't count on white Marines or 501st airborne or whatever... I'd kind of dig that, but don't count on it. Just interesting speculation to a little blurb that came up on their site.

I guess all will be revealed on 1-5-07 (5-1-07 for US based members) when wave 3 is scheduled to land on my door step.
-
R2DToys changed their page some from what was once listed there, so this is pretty likely the UGH promo they're covering up... I don't expect much more honestly, from what I've been told, but true we'll see when they're out. That's the joy of rumors...
The opinion on the rumor was mixed anyway, some loving it and some hating it... I like Clone variants but I don't have enough of the film ones yet to suit me so paint variants weren't something I was looking forward to so soon, hah.
There was some apparant confusion on the story though... I guess it wasn't spelled out clearly for some folks that this was a rumor and maybe wasn't much of anything at all, so some people started freaking out at other sites about it... Who'd have thought that. ::)
-
I don't know why the color change being the coin didn't occur to me, but I'm glad that that's most likely the case.
-
Yeah, till photos surface it's debateable but given that Wave 1 Clones still aren't overly abundant, I think it'd be a premature thing to repaint them in the basic line anyway... The coins though are likely an R2-Dtoys cover-up on early wording from what I was told, since I guess they listed them as UGH earlier and are now backpeddling in how they worded the listing and things.
Good for us... I guess? ???

Can anyone scan those "crisp" pictures from SW Insider?

Wave 3 has hit:
30th Anniversary Wave 3 Figures Out At Retail

Whitewolf writes in with the following information of his finds at his local Toys R Us.
"We got more 30th Anniversary figures in this week, and Hasbro is apparently switching them up with revision cases and the brand new Wave 3. I don't know about the rest of the country, but Wave 3 is showing up in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area.
Wave 2.5 consists of:
*Utaupau Obi-Wan
*Flamin' Super Battle Droid
*Airborne Trooper x2
*Galactic Marine
*Death Star Trooper x2
*Oil Slick R2-D2
*Han Solo
*Ceremonial Luke
*McQuarrie Stormtrooper
*McQuarrie Boba Fett
(X-Wing Biggs and Rebel Honor Guard have been omitted from this wave)
Wave 3 consists of:
*Darth Vader (with Obi-Wan robes) x2
*Deleted Scene Biggs Darklighter x2
*Luke Skywalker (with Vaporator) x2
*Super-articulated Jawa with LIN Droid x2
*VOTC Stormtrooper (with removable helmet) x2
*McQuarrie Chewbacca x2"
Stay tuned to JI as Whitewolf will be doing reviews of wave 3 for us in the next few days.
Anyone on the east coast, besides me, should start looking.
-
>:(Darn I've only found 2 figures from wave 2. Luke S.I've could'va passed on this, but I wanted the coin(fodder bin) and the death star trooper. other than that ,haven't seen SQUAT! :P
-
Wow. That's nuts. :o
-
Yeah this seems unusually early to me, and I think it's just some kind of aberration because even the Cali collectors haven't seen this yet. I think this find is going to prove to be extremely localized and that this wave will hit en masse for June 1.
-
Wasn't it announced somewhere that wave 3 would hit in May? Not surprised at all to see this starting to filter in, but I agree - it will probably be a few weeks before these start to really show up in force. Most of my local Targets have nothing on the shelves for TAC, so I'm hoping that means an earlier W3 release. ;D

Yeah, that's because you're finished with W2. ;) I'm not sure who else in our group still needs figs from that wave.

Where did this report come from? Maryland DC getting stuff first? Never heard of that.
-
And if it's actually been found, I wonder if it's got the gold UGH coins or what the "color variation" is about? Inquiring Defenders wanna know?
-

I just saw this post (http://forums.toynewsi.com/index.php?showtopic=2036247).
But what qualifies it as a valid report? Don't people normaly bug the poster for pictures and a recipt as proof? I could say the I found wave 6 at Target yesterday, but that doesn't mean it's true.

I have no idea of the veracity of the report. I was just passing on the post.
-
But what qualifies it as a valid report?
The report was first posted in the forums at toynewsi (http://forums.toynewsi.com/index.php?showtopic=2036247) (which is what Ook pointed out in his post).
That post is where JediInsider (http://jediinsider.com/index.php?catid=8&itemid=10265) (part of the toynewsi group) got the info for their news story (which is what Artoo copied earlier in this thread).
What makes the story legit enough for JediInsider to post was the fact that Whitewolf is a frequent contributor over there. It's kind of like when JediMAC posts his "hey everyone, I found this in SoCal" news posts on our front page. He never has pictures or reciepts, but we all believe him because he's JediMAC, a regular contributor over here. We tend to believe him because we know him and trust his word.
It seems like the same thing for Whitewolf over there. He is one of their toy reviewers, so they trust him. I don't think they would have posted it if they didn't think it was true... but whether it is true everywhere or not remains to be seen. We all know how regional this stuff is and how strange things can happen (like when the VTSC figures hit a Kansas store months before they hit anywhere else).
They (JediInsider) claim he's going to review the figures in the next few days, so if it's true there will be pics soon enough...
-
At least from those case ratio we can deduce that there was no UGH in that wave 3 case.
1. News like that would have been too big not to post
2. There was x2 each of all the new figs just like the first wave 2 case-leaving no room for refresher figs-meaning no UGH possible
As for the wave 2.5 though, I have not yet heard of that case-it's possible it had UGH but I doubt something that informational would be not reported.
I think if Hasbro will do UGH this year it will be in wave 4,5 or 6 refresher cases.

This is frustrating beyond all belief. I have only seen wave one (in it's entirety) once and the only figure I've seen from wave two was Han Solo.

Wait... WAIT!!!! You mean Wave 2 is shipping????? :o
I haven't seen Anything other than Obi/R2/Mace from wave 1 except for a single Marine I found at a Target.

Well, I feel a little better...

Yet, I'm going to say it again...
I haven't even seen wave 1 yet!
What was the point of releasing TAC yet if all we see is TSC? ::)

Yeah, I hope the pegwarming TSC goes on clearance at my local Target... I'd love to get a JerJerrod for cheap.
-
I'd like to army build those Final 22 figures, but I'm not spending anymore money on TSC unless it's on sale.
-
Man, I guess I should count myself lucky... I've seen both waves in their entirety (sp?). Recently, it seems like warehouses must be dumping old stock of Saga2 around here. Must be what you're getting. I really hope you all see it soon.
-
I heard someone found wave 2 here at WM (of all places) Sunday...probably all gone now. :-\

I'm reading reports suggesting this wave being found by scalpers in my area but I think it's BS until I see them myself ::)
-
So, any other reports of this wave showing up?
-
Nah it's a few weeks too early. Those reports were either an extremely isolated incident or just plain made up.
-
No photos ever surfaced so I don't believe them now...
-
Glad to see that this hasn't shown up yet. With all the buying over the last few months, I'm enjoying this little "vacation" from new stuff for a few weeks!
-
Has anyone seen Wave 3 show up yet? I finally finished off Wave 2 yesterday and am eager for more acquisitions.
-
I'm enjoying the break too, Jman... but these'll be here soon enough.
-
So far no Wave 3 sightings (of any substance) seem to have come about Blackwolf (welcome aboard JediDefender.com by the way)... With Wave 2 hardly in the systems, I'm kinda hoping Wave 3 is a ways off. Hell even Wave 1's disappeared except for 2 figures around my area.
-
Thanks, JJ. I've been more of a lurker for a while now. Finally decided to contribute.
I didn't think I'd find all the figs I've found so far. Having completed wave 1 & 2, this is the most up to date I've been in a long time. Both waves are getting easier to find around. Boba 'Cept & McStormie seem to be the 2 short packs around here (Omaha). I'm sure a certain comic shop/scalper in our area has something to do with it. I was in there the other day to pick up the new ToyFare and they had all of both waves for $13 each, McStormie- $15 & Boba 'Cept- $20.
-
That's a sure bet, or at least they pilferred from one store anyway... My old comic shop I used to frequent would do that and keep extras behind the counter so it looked like they only had one. It was their way of keeping the "this is all there is and it's rare" kind of hype going.
used to have a friend that lived in Omaha... She'd visit some out this way but wound up moving to England and marrying some restaurant owner. Just a strange aside. :) Or as the Pittsburgh News would call it, "The Pittsburgh Connection". Dunno why but we always have to find the one person at a tragedy or event that has some tie to Pittsburgh and point it out.
-
I think the Pittsburg Connection & Omaha Connection are one in the same. I ran into a few people @ C3 who knew people who'd lived in Omaha at one point or still did.
But yeah, this comic shop is the same as yours it sounds like. I know for a fact they have a few people who go out & buy the stuff, bring it back and them mark it up. Members of our Fan Fore group were asked to participate in Free Comic Book Day last year. They let us use their backroom as a staging area/break room and we witnessed their "ill-gotten goods" on the shelves and guys coming back fom shopping trips and immediately grabbing price gun. Right after the TAC- Wave 1 came out, they had a whole set on the counter. I was really tempted to mangle the cards so they couldn't get (their)full price for them. I resisted since they're the only place in town I can get Real Stands and ToyFare w/o having to wait till it actually hits news stands. I'm sure they'll have the C4 exclusives before the show is even over. They had a Jorg Sacul for $100 2 days after C2 was over.

NFC said that Hasbro has shipped their order to them!

That's something. Buy it, take it right home and put it up on e-bay. :-\
-
Scum is reporting that this wave has been found in AZ.
-
Its great that this wave is out, I was ready for this!!!
-
Did anybody at CIV see any vendor's with these?
-
There was a report that one vendor had them but were immediately bought.
-
Had a chance at all the new wave 3 stuff today (Northern Cali). All I bought was the McChewie and a Stormtrooper. I saw them at both Walmarts up here and Target.
-
Some venders at C4 did get this wave in. Some people had the guy who played biggs sign the wave three version. We got the wave here in SoCal as well.
-
Picked up Wave 3 at my local Target, and the other Target in my area had the Saga Legends wave..Oh I did pass on the Vader for W3 I wounder why? Maybe because I have the same darn figure X10?
-
the other Target in my area had the Saga Legends wave..
Seriously? That's the first report I've heard. Target doesn't even have Pegs for them either.
-
I found 5/6 of Wave 3 this morning. The only one I have left to find is Biggs in Academy Uniform. I was shocked. Found McChewie right out of the gate!
One thing I just noticed on the Jawa- He comes with a droid caller. I never noticed it in the pictures. He has a holster for the droid caller in addition to the one for his sidearm.
-
New Figure Mojo in Kansa City(silly saying I know). Found Wave 3 TAC at both Wal-Marts and at Targets today. Glad to be done with this wave.
-
the other Target in my area had the Saga Legends wave..
Seriously? That's the first report I've heard. Target doesn't even have Pegs for them either.
They'll probably shove them in with TSC because of the same DCPI.
-
Heard a bunch of complaints over at the otheR Site that Target is holding this wave for Sunday. ???
-
That's what they said about the Vintage wave and last week - nothing happened.
-
Hit up a Target, Walmart, ans TRU yesterday. Nothing new.
-
With a huge amount of luck, as reported in the Recent Purchases thread, I came across a case of Wave 3 at a local SJ Target, where I got Jawa w/LIN, Stormtrooper, and CONCEPT CHEWBACCA!!!!!!! This wave is great guys, so good luck in your search for it, its worth the hunt. ;D
-
S. Calif. found the this Wave, unfortunately I wasn't about 10 minutes faster, I would've been able to get them all as it stands I was only able to get Biggs-Academy. I saw the lady in front of me that had grabbed the rest at the register when I bought my Biggs.
-
Got Jawa, Darth, Biggs and 1 Stormtrooper today.
Not bad.
The clone head under the helmet is quite possibly the worst we've seen yet. The skin tone is Purple-ish.
The Jawa Rocks and the Vest is truly separate from the bandolier. Pretty cool.
Haven't opened the others..
-
Scored this entire wave today, but I'll have to wait until later tonight to open them up. The Luke looks a little better in person than the pics I've seen online, but it's still not great. But the real gems of the wave for me Academy Biggs and the Jawa with LIN droid. Very cool figures!
-
Glad everyone is finiding this wave a more easliy then the past two. I guess I was lucky Monday to find the wave. FYI looks like Targets is re setting for Transformes and F4. Ie., less room for Star Wars.
-
Great to hear that people are finding this wave fairly easy- Granted, It'll still be a month and a half before I find it, but what are you gonna do.
:P

hey dont worry...it will probably be a while before wave two hits in greater numbers around me...and im expecting wave three not to hit till maybe august.

The pace of figures shipping should be picking up. Hasbro talked about this a bit in their panel at C4.

Why? They finally got rid of all their Saga figs? ;)

Love the Jawa! He's my new favorite figure (which changes almost daily).

Probably there's so much TSC figures at they're flowing over the pegs. It looks like that WM is trieing to get rid of them. I even caught some TSC on the Spidey-3 section, which is an aisle down. :O
I just finally found TAC, so I bet I'll see wave 3 (or atleast the remanents) soon.
-
(or atleast the remanents)
16 Vaders. 2 Biggs. Thats what I see any remnants of this wave being. :(
-
Super weird find at Target: 3 wave 3 Stormies, 2 wave 3 vaders and no one else! This was all they had left, none in the back! I bought all the Stormies. Whats really cool is I swapped the heads of the comic Han and Luke to have plain white versions. Its the same tool so they fit perfect! Plenty of VOTC and Comic packs plus Wave 1 and 2 is finally in good numbers with old saga2 being finally phased out after 6 months in 2007!
-

I figured as much. Now to pick up extra heads. :P

I figured as much. Now to pick up extra heads. :P
Off with their heads? ;)
-
Speaking of off with their heads...
How about that Jawa? Very nice sculpting and I am pleasantly surprised about the articulation, including a ball jointed head! It's very nice to see ball joints in the elbows and shoulders, especially considering how small those joints happen to be.
But the thing that I think is really cool about this Jawa? Interchangeability of parts. You can pop off the head in order to take off the bandolier and/or vest, so that this Jawa can have a few different looks. And add in the small accessories like the droid caller and blaster, both of which have holsters...this is very cool! Add in the LIN droid on top of all of that, and it's just gravy.
-
This wave comes 12 Vaders to a case right?
If so, I found a whole case today at Wal-Mart.
-
I found 3 cases of Wave 3 Revision 1 today. All three were sitting on a shrinkwrapped pallet. And all three had been cut open neatly and had their McChewies neatly removed. I'm guess my Wal-Mart has some employee who scalps the things. So much for finding any McQuarrie figures on a midnight run at that store...
-
Found out at our Target yesterday they have employees doing the same thing. I managed to get one Chewie, but out of three cases they had in the back, the rest were mysteriously 'sold out.' Whatever. I did get the rest of the wave, and the Jawa is my absolute favorite. I love Jawas, but this is nuts. Like Nicklab said, he can be three or four different Jawas thanks to the removable gear. I will be buying lots, and some Stormtroopers, which is great except for the loose torso. I swapped out the head for my comic Han and it looks great. I have to get another one for Luke. The Tatooine Luke is great - swap that head too with and X-Wing or Ceremony Luke to get the Blast Shield version we've all wanted. The Mositure Vaparator is ridiculous, an instant classic. Kudos to Hasbro. Biggs... Biggs is fine except mine has feet so gummy they literally curled up in the package. He won't stand up, and barely does on a stand. Sigh.
And Chewie rules. :)
-
The local Target put out a case of these on Friday during the huge anticipatory TF movie toy reset, and both Chewies were, like Spuffy's experience, mysteriously missing from the case. Grabbed one of each of the rest along with an extra Stormtrooper. The Wal-Mart just down the street apparently got a case as well, as there was still a Stormtrooper and Vader hanging around on Saturday moring. As of this morning, all that either store has left from this wave is Vader (3 at Target, 1 at WM).
Just an FYI to those of you who haven't gotten the Vader (which, by the looks of things, is everyone but me): the figure is essentially identical to the ANH Commemorative Tin Vader, right down to the same Hayden scarred head, making Hasbro's argument that they wouldn't release an Evolutions ROTS Anakin on a card due to his inclusion in the ROTS tin null and void. If there are differences between the two (other than the Obi-Wan cloak), they're so miniscule to be unnoticeable.
My Biggs has the same foot problems as Spuffy, too. His feet look like the Wicked Witch's toes curling up after the house lands on her. ;D
-
The Biggs I found last week has the same problem too. He does stand, but it is with a bit of a gangsta lean. A stand might be a good idea for him. Our local Target seems to be putting out one figure from this wave each day, among the Wave 2 pegwarmers. I found Vader last Thursday, Biggs on Friday, and a Stormtrooper on Saturday. I just happened to be at the store the last four days, which is unusual. Yesterday they seemed to have some peg space cleared up (someone must have bought some of those Hans and Lukes from Wave 2), but no new figures on the pegs. They'll probably stock today or tomorrow when I can't make it over there. That was enough driving for one week last week :P.
-
A lot of my local freinds are complaining about the disapearing Chewie as well. And I'm kind of expecting a fight at one my morning stops as well over it. The Hotwheel guy who makes it a point to skip the hotwheels for any Mqfig is really starting to annoy us.
-
Hopefully I'll one day have the remainder of this wave. Sure, like most everything else I'll be a whore and get it all, but I like it to be sooner so I'm done here.
DS
-
The Hotwheel guy who makes it a point to skip the hotwheels for any Mqfig is really starting to annoy us.
Go for his TH's then...all's fair!
-
Mine arrived yesterday from R2Dtoys.
I'm very impressed with the entire wave with the exception of Biggs. Maybe it's just mine but his feet are so curved that posing him is impossible.
-
find out which car is his and all of you spit gum at the ground around his car door... It's little consolation of course but it's funny to watch someone pick gum off their shoes.
-
How many pieces would that take jesse?? Me thinks stealing his treasure hunts works better. :P
-

You're way too kind. I'd get some dog **** and smear it around underneath the door handle on his car.
And I'd let the air out of the opposite tire.
-
I'm just wondering who has the joy of picking up the dog **** to do the smearing. :)
-
Gloves dude, gloves.
-
Speaking of crap, the new Marine's backpack is covered in it, and I think thats the color variation!
Yesterday I found a Galactic Marine in a Wave 3 revision case, and I think he is the 'color variation' everyone was talking about. The variation is not the figure itself, but the backpack! I compared my latest Wave 3 Marine with my Wave 1 Marine and found that Wave 3 Marine has a WAYYYY dirtier backpack than the Wave 1 Marine. Ill provide some pics later today, forgot to do so earlier. Im pretty sure thats the color variation!
-
I've gotten quite confused about what's in the next 2 or 3 waves. What's in Wave 3? I thought Onith and Helrot were in it, but no one's mentioning them in their Wave 3 finds...? I initially thought CZ was in this wave too, but I see he's in the Jabba wave.

I've gotten quite confused about what's in the next 2 or 3 waves.
Wave 3 - ANH - Tatooine (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=14531.0)
30AC #16 Darth Vader (Death Star Duel)
30AC #17 Biggs Darklighter (Academy)
30AC #18 Luke Skywalker (Tatooine)
30AC #19 Jawa & LIN Droid
30AC #20 Stormtrooper
30AC #21 Concept Chewbacca
Wave 4 - RotJ - Jabba's Palace (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=14683.0)
30AC #22 M'iiyoom Onith
30AC #23 Elis Helrot
30AC #24 Boba Fett (Animated Debut)
30AC #25 Luke Skywalker (Jedi)
30AC #26 CZ-4
30AC #27 Umpass-Stay
30AC #28 Concept Darth Vader
Wave 5 - Expanded Universe Based (http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=15158.0)
30AC #29 Hermie Odle
30AC #30 C-3PO with Salacious Crumb
30AC #31 Roron Corobb
30AC #32 Yoda with Kybuck
30AC #33 Anakin Skywalker (Tatooed)
30AC #34 Darth Revan
30AC #35 Darth Malak
30AC #36 General Grievous (Pre-Cyborg)
30AC #37 Concept Starkiller Hero
For reasons Hasbro only knows, the two Cantina figures got bumped from the Tatooine Wave into the Jabba's Palace wave, which then bumped Hermie and 3PO into the EU wave...
(BTW, is the fan's choice Legends wave out now, or just the first half...? ???)
As for the Legends, it is just Wave 1 (of 4) that is shipping now. It does not have any of the "fan choice" figures, those come later.
-
Thanks, guys.

NFC is shipping wave 3.

I just got the Vintage from them... boy oh boy, another expensive month.
-
Agreed, it seems like everything is hitting right now. I got a set of the vintage figures from BBTS at the end of May, then found them in stores last week and bought openers. I got shipping notice from BBTS for Wave 3 this morning, shipping notice from ToyRocket yesterday for the McQuarrie droids, found a V-Wing at retail, and received the figure stands from HTS. Then, McQuarrie Luke should be shipping next week. Yikes. I'm happy to get the stuff, but it is rough when all the preorders ship within 3 weeks time or so.

You're not kidding... in the last month or so I've bought comic packs galore, wave 2, part of wave 3, tons of vintage line figures, exclusives from Celebration, clearance Order 66 packs, V-Wing, Maul's ship...
-
I got alot of that 2+ weeks ago..but now nothing for a short while. :-\
-
I just got Biggs, Jawa, and Luke from this wave, and I have to say these are some toys I have waited a long time for. Luke's face is kind of scene-specific, but head-swappable and thus forgivable.
I am so pleased with that moisture vaporator...I have waited patiently, and after six years it has finally come to be. The perceived hole in my collection is now filled. I was so giddy driving home with that toy, it was nuts. Between that and the excellent jawa and completely gratuitous "technically EU" Biggs, I played with Star Wars toys for the first time in a couple of years today. Wow.
Edit: And I just discovered that popping off the dome reveals all the interior sculpted goodness of the LIN droid...so now buying another Jawa makes a lot of sense, to have an exposed LIN as a different looking droid.
-
Surprisingly, I saw this wave at Target today. All Vaders, of course, but it's still nice to know it's been sighted in my area.
-
Saw these at target yesterday, Biggs, vader, luke, and 2 stormies. Picked both of those stormies up.
-
I found my first Biggs today... just missing McChewie now.
Also still need another Luke carded, Jawa to open, and Biggs to open. Then I'd like to pick up 4 or 5 each of the Luke and Jawa.
-
Picked up a Vader and Biggs Tosche Station.
A set of binoculars with Biggs would have been a good idea........
-
From this wave, Vader is still the only figure I've seen. I've resisted so far.

Just use the ones from the Saga2 Luke, if you have him. Those were fine. 8)

Mmmmm stormtrooper and jawa?
-
Nope. I want the moisture vaporators.
I will buy Stormtroopers as I find them though. But with around 80 or 90 already, it's no big deal either way on those.
-
I've got 4 of the Lukes so far, all for the vaporator myself. I love the vaporator. I think I want about 10 of them. It's better than the figure, and actually I think it's my favorite thing to come out of TAC this year after the new Snowtrooper.
:P
-
Nope. I want the moisture vaporators.
I don't even know what that thing does. I'm assuming it was on Owen's farm.

They are supposed to suck up moisture from the air and condense it into water.
Sort of the crop of the moisture farm I guess.

Ohhh. Sweet. We have those here on Earth too. They're called dehumidifiers.

At last, my bedroom is the farm I always knew it could be.

Your bedroom ain't jack until Hasbro makes a pack-in dehumidifier.

I received my set of this wave from BBTS yesterday, and its a pretty nice wave overall. The McQuarrie Chewie is just a cool figure, and quite large. I agree with what others have said here, the moisture vaporator is pretty nice. I'm almost considering picking up another Luke or two to get some more of them. The Luke figure isn't as bad as some online pics have made it look, but even after all the tries, I still don't think we've gotten the definitive Tatooine Luke. The Jawa and LIN Droid is one of my favorites of the wave. I'm caught up for now, just looking for an extra McQuarrie Chewie to keep carded, and some army building of the Stormtrooper and Jawa.
-
I still have not gotten the wave, but i plan to get an extra Jawa and probably Luke now with the way you are all talking. I could use an extra moisture vaporator. ;D
-
The Luke figure isn't as bad as some online pics have made it look,
Picked up a Moisture Vaporator with Luke accessory today and that was my first thought about the Luke also.
-
I've been thinking about picking up an extra Luke for the Vaporator. I'll have to wait to actually open one to check it out to make that decision.
-

This seems to be the way I look at this piece. We get a cool mooisture vaporator with this lame Luke. ;D
-
I hate to derail your wonderful Moisture Vaporator conversation, but I have a question for those of you who have opened your Biggs Darklighter figure(s): have any of you had paint issues on Biggs' jacket and sleeves? Both of my Biggs figures had a noticeable shade of blue on the back of the jacket and the arms. I'm thinking that someone at the Hasbro factory dyed the cape for the figure and packaged it before it was dry, but I picked these two figures up at different stores and they both have the problem. So, if you have this problem and/or know how to fix the problem, please let me know. I'll also try to provide pictures of this later.
-
Yes... I've had the same issue. But mine appeared to have blue from the shirt that made its way onto the shoulders and the breast of the jacket. It almost appears that it was handled too soon before the blue paint had a chance to fully cure.
-
Finally opened up this wave last night. Nice wave.
Vader: I opened this just for the accessory. :( Great Vader to repack though. I used to pride myself to know which Vader re-pack was which, but he's been re-packed so often that I simply lost count/interest.
Biggs: Only complaint are the legs. Not so much the lack of articulation, but the widish stance.
Moisture Vaporator: At this point it accessory of the year, but I have a feeling the upcoming Torture rack is going to give it a run or it's money. The Luke is okay.
Jawa/Droid: Digging this set. Picking up and extra for fun.
Stormtrooper: Like this more than most people. To keep the helmet sitting properly, I either turn the head around or stuff some TP in the helmet.
Chewie: Now that's a lotta plastic. Another great McQuarrie figure.
-
Had the same problem with my Biggs, blue paint aroung the left pocket, right shoulder, and on the back. Tried paint remover but it didn't seem to remove anything, I'm afraid to use goof off as I almost melted a Cody with that stuff before.
-
Could the blue paint be residue from the cape? That's what mine looks like.

Mine had the same thing, only it was more of a distinctive "fingerprint" on the arm.
-

That's what I am thinking, Darth Anton. The area on my two Biggs figures that have the problem are places that the cape covers. I would agree with jedijaybird, but I doubt that blue paint from the shirt would get on my figure's back side and not his front side.
-
It does kind of look like a fingerprint, time to send it to the crime lab :P and figure out who did this. I don't know though it looks kinda blue so I'm not sure it's from the cape, but anything's possible.
-
I don't believe that the shirt has paint to be transferred... It's cast plastic, with the neck post painted I believe. The odd blue marks are tough to tell what htey could be then.

Yep, your right and I've been soaking the cape in hot water to see if it is bleeding, and it isn't. So it's not from either of them.
Must be a grubby handed factory worker.
-
I'd guess it's a byproduct of the heat of the plastic sort of transferring some of the pigment from the darker color to the lighter color. That's my best explanation. I think what people have thought were fingerprints are actually the texturing sculpted into the figure's jacket highlighted by the different color... Though I'm not sure how the pigment in the plastic could possibly react/rub-off onto the fingers of a factory worker. It might be possible but in all my experiences with plastics I've never heard of that really happening.
-
I didn't think I would care about this figure very much; my personal collecting habits center around making dioramas of memorable film scenes, and this being from a cutscene (that I didn't know about until the mid 90's) made it a little less appealing at first. But when I got him, I absolutely fell in love with the cool 70's look of his costume! This to me is pure SW design; I'd have preferred characters like Hem Dazon to have outfits like Biggs' and other spacers like Yerka Mig and the Duros than the sort of Space Force GI Joe style suit complexity some modern characters get.
-
Finally got a second Biggs to open this weekend.
Mine has the blue crap all over it too.
-
I finally found a case (maybe two) of this wave at TRU today, and like others mentioned a few pages back, all of the McChewies were gone. I checked this TRU the night before and they had nothing, and hit it today around opening so I'm thinking it was an employee. Ah well. I still really like the Stormtrooper, the helmet looks a lot better in person to me.
-
I don't know if other people are seeing the same thing, but this wave has been slim to none around here. Granted, its still early, and I received a "set" from BBTS, so I'm not worried - but I'd like to get a few extra Jawas and Stormies (and one McChewie to keep carded). All of our stores have kind of been slowed up now with Wal-Mart having only TSC figures (and lots of 'em), Target having 2 Mace Windus and 6 Galactic Marines for about 2 weeks now, and TRU having a pile of Wave 2 Han and Biggs, with a few Lukes and Rebel Honor Guards. It doesn't seem as if much has moved for the past few weeks at any of the stores, maybe people are in Transformers mode right now :).
-
My opened Biggs has the blue crap all over it, its really bad, which is a shame because hes a really good figure.
-
Wave 3 is sporadically shipping around here as there's still a large glut of Saga on the pegs of every store, and Wave 1 & 2 back-ups are happening to a VERY minimal extent. Actually it's mostly Obi/R2 from Wave 1, some Mace's too, but the army builders are easier to find as well save for Airborne's and Honor Guards that are non-existant. Marines and Death Star Troopers are pretty easy snags though.
But yeah, other than the odd Vader, there's not much wave 3 to be found. I've yet to get a Luke, and most of Wave 3 I haven't seen in stores even. I'm sure they'll be around soon in good numbers. I even have seen McQuarrie Fett/Trooper recently so even those are shipping a little better.
-
Finally caught up on all the figures I want from this wave. Bring on Wave 4!
