I gotta say, this one pisses me off. While I'm sure they are paying Lucasfilm a fee, I'm pretty sure that Bill Watterson isn't getting any.

It's a parody. They don't have to pay anybody.

When this was first released a couple of months back I did have reservations about whether or not I was disrespecting the original artist and his characters. A lot of people who I spoke to put my mind at ease, assuring me that this fell well into the realm of parody to not be a problem. Reading up on Bill Watterson I never read that he was opposed to people parodying his work, but he was always against merchandising the actual characters Calvin and Hobbes and other people misusing his characters (eg Calvin peeing on the car logos). This however was never meant to be Calvin and Hobbes but rather Chewie and Han drawn in Bill Watterson's style. Yes there are echoes of Calvin and Hobbes in the design but that's necessary for the MashedPotato to work.

I appreciate your comment though.

It wasn't created with any malicious intent so why have a problem with it? As well as being a parody it also a homage, even more than a parody in my opinion. Both IP's are treated with respect and not misused in anyway.

I've turned into a plain pocket t guy though... goofy t's for around the house though too, but plain pockets for if I have to leave the house for a night at the bar or something.

A buddy of mine just made a similar shirt with a BTTF theme:

There's more information on his Facebook page (BTTFParts). All of the proceeds will go to a charity which helped victims of the tornado here a few months ago.

Cool designs, but I'm not sure I've got the appetite to wait 6 weeks for a freaking t-shirt to be delivered. Its not rocket science...

I ordered a Star Wars "Ugly Christmas Sweater" on 12/10 last year and didn't get it until last week of Jan. I've ordered T-Shirts as well and just forgot about them until they arrived. I'd say the usual is about 3-4 weeks and worse over the holidays. Don't know this as fact, but I suspect they take in the orders, then print off shirts based on the number that come in versus already having them on hand. Still surprised how slow it is.

Usually orders are turned around in a week and in hand after around two...it's far worse right now. They are at least 6 weeks behind and continue to take orders and not tell anyone about the delay. People are pissed...really pissed. I am waiting for a couple of Force Awakens shirts and will never order from them again
