Vintage Kenner / Mexican Bootleg Figures
« on: December 22, 2004, 12:04 PM »
I received these Mexican bootleg figures from a great friend Joseph Yglesias yesterday in the mail. I have seen these on toysrgus.com & ebay from time to time. I really don't know much about these, only from what I have read.

These figures are awesome, not the best figures for the plastic & paint job but cool none the less.

These 2 carded figures have 3 figures sealed in a clear baggie & stapled to shrunk down copy of a modern POTF card. Not sure if these were sold that way in the south. Maybe if Joseph pops in here he can give the answer.  :)

Heres a link to the archive on some of the bootlegs:

Watto's Junk Yard / Canada rejecting mail without complete address
« on: October 21, 2004, 02:27 PM »
Just a heads up for our friends in other countries, when sending parcels & such.

Check with your Post Office to make sure everything checks out OK before sending, hate to see them send it back! :-\

Security concerns create backlog of items to be returned to sender

Oh, & I guess you should cross your "t's" & dot your "i's" too!.  ::)  Canada customs, love to hate them!  >:(

Vintage Kenner / New Policy Change Ending Listings Early
« on: October 1, 2004, 02:26 PM »
eBay has a new policy reguarding ending auctions early listed in there General Announcemt Board.

***Policy Change: Ending Listings Early***
Date: 09/30/04    Time: 04:02:29 PM PDT

Next week, we are updating the policy governing when a seller may end or change their listing. This will align our sellers’ ability to manage their listings with our buyers’ ability to retract bids. Currently, buyers have limitations on retracting bids during the last 12 hours of a listing.
Today, our policy allows a seller to cancel bids and end an item at any time as long as one of the following reasons is met:

The item is no longer available for sale.
There was an error in the starting price or reserve amount.
There was an error in the listing.
The item was lost or broken.
Sellers are also prevented from making changes to a listing during the final 12 hours. Beginning next week, if a listing has 12 or fewer hours remaining and has, or had, a winning bid during the final 12 hours of the listing, the seller will no longer be able to end the listing, except to sell to the current high bidder on eBay. Sellers may still cancel specific bids that they find unwelcome, but may no longer utilize the "cancel all bids and end this item" feature.

The practice of canceling all bids and ending an item early with only minutes left is very frustrating to buyers. This change should improve the overall buyer experience.

Sellers may still end listings during the final 12 hours of the listing if the item does not have any bids.

Regards,
eBay

 8)  This will make it beneficial if thre are bids or you are watching an auction to bid on if the price is in your range. No more watching an auction to have the seller cancel it at the last few minutes which has been a problem on going for yrs.

I've seen it many times where the seller pulls the auction with minutes to go because the price is to low for what they want if there is no reserve. Heck, thats usually when the bidding war starts!

Maybe this change will help out looking for that vintage/modern SW item for your collection.  ;)

The Original Trilogy / The Return Of Spaceballs?
« on: October 1, 2004, 02:13 AM »
As reported by Jesse on the front page, Mel Brooks is working on a sequel to Spaceballs the movie.  8)

Yogurt to return with SPACEBALLS 2?

Spaceballs II: Jar-Jar Strikes Back

This movie still makes me laugh. Who can forget Dark Helmet, Lone Star, Princess Vespa, Yogurt, Pizza The Hut & Barfolemew "Barf the Mog". I still miss John Candy!  :'(

This is a great opportunity for Mel Brooks to pull out all the gags in the SW series.

So whats you best scene or line?

Mine:

I'm a mog! Half-man, half-dog! I'm my own best friend!

Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made. Spaceballs the T-shirt. Spaceballs the lunchbox. Spaceballs the coloring book. Spaceballs... the flame thrower! Kids love it. And my favorite, Spaceballs the Doll -- me!

So true! I hit the floor on that line!  ;D  ;)

May the Schwartz be with you!

Oh ****, there goes the planet!
