Our local store almost fooled me as they had both the AT-STs and Dewbacks in the clearance aisle, with red tags, but they were still full price.  I hate when they do that.  I already have two of each, and don't necessarily need more, but if I saw a nice deal (like 50% off or more) I'd probably consider it.

And they have stick out flag style price tag on the shelf that declares in big bold letters that the item is 'NOW: (the regular price)' and the smaller 'Reduced From:' is always blank.  I'm always tempted to find a pen and write the regular price in that blank spot to show other people what a "deal" they are getting.

"But Mom its on clearance!  It's zero dollars less than it was before!"

TV-9D9 / Re: The Clone Wars - Season Two Discussion Thread

I don't know if its just because I read about Karen Traviss's vision of Mandalorian culture first, but I'm not enjoying the Clone Wars version.  Of the two the Clone Wars feels more wonky and less authentic.

I agree that there's definitely the potential for some confusion on the subject.  Especially since we only ever see Veers in the AT-AT Commander uniform/armor.

He also appears sans armor to inform Lord Vader about Admiral Ozzel's incompetence.  But I think that's what you meant by uniform/armor.

I like all four, but I'm most pleased that we're getting an updated Dengar and a new Imperial is good, even if he'll have to report to ole' swivel elbows.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Disney Star Tours

Was in Disney over the last two weeks and I got the chance to bring my 3 year old on Star Tours.  The minimum height for the ride is 40 inches.  He was exactly 40 inches.  We had to push his feet together, make him stand up straight, etc. but he just brushed the height bar (actually we had to go through that twice as they measure you at the start of the line and right before they assign you to a car..).  He sat between my nephew and I, held our hands, and the only thing I heard him say was "Wow.".  A very fun day for me.  He had a lot more fun at the Magic Kingdom (Train rides, driving a go cart, the Dumbo ride, etc.), but it was well worth it, especially since the next time we'll likely get to go they will have revised the ride.

I can understand Bastilla, even if she wouldn't have been a pick for me, and I definitely understand Plagueis, but the other three I don't get at all.

I'm sure the people who check this thread are all set with these, but over the weekend I was at AJ Wright (its the same company as Marshalls just a different brand name..) and they had Titaniums for $1.99.  I got the Turbo Tank (not sure if there is a variation), they also had Mace Windu's Eps 3 fighter.  This was in addition to the 30AC figures they've been getting in the last few months.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Commercials You Hate

I think we've all lost weight eating at Taco Bell, we just don't like to talk about it afterward, and remember why we don't eat at Taco Bell very often.

Locally there is a car dealer who owns franchises around the country, Billy Fucillo, whos tag line is "Its Huuuuge!"  Now there is a local pizza place that has ads on the feature a large, heavy set, Italian man who has same the type of sales style, (in the background is a few cars, each car has a pizza, calzones, subs, etc. on the hood) and at the end he says "Its Humongous!".  Seriously, imitating a hated commercial?

Do you mean Karen Carpenter?

Yeah, probably.  As for the eating disorder, I guess she was struggling with body issus and eating disorders for some time, but drugs can't be ruled out until the do the toxicology tests.

Either way its a tragedy for her family and fans.

Sorry ... but what's a Gorax?  :-X Is it like anothey caste of Rancor?

IIRC the Gorax is the giant from the Ewok Adventure.

Isn't that pretty much what killed Carol Carpenter?  Yeah, even in the red-carpet type of video, they were running in the background on the morning shows, where she should look at her best, she just looked sickly skinny.

Was at Walmart last night and figures were back up to $7.46.  They only have Saga Legends, so maybe the price hike was to solidify that line's status as pegwarmers   :P

K-Mart should still be running their buy two star wars items, get one free (equal or lesser value), through this weekend.

The redo sets are interesting, but a pass for me.  I like the army builder/battlepacks, gotta get that Wampa.  I'm also liking Plo's starfighter, but I'll probably be shocked by the price and pass on it.

Near me its Malikili and Luke that are most likely to sit.  Followed closely by Pranno.  I've seen the B-Winger and Sciffies a few times, the Ewoks once and no Leia.

Was at AJ Wright (I think its in the same corporation as TJ Maxx, etc.) and they had some of the 30AC figures for $3.99.  Similar assortment to what Marshalls had a few months ago (Sandtrooper, Galactic Marine, Death Star Trooper, R2-D2 w/ sound, 4-LOM, Gen. McQuarrie, etc.) if any one is interested in some army builders.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: How's the weather?

So we got almost a foot of snow last week and then it alternated between raining and sleeting all day yesterday, which along with temps just above/below freezing was perfect for resurfacing the roads ice skating rinks.  I kind of don't get why the county waited until after 5 am to start salting/sanding the roads.  Sure, i get that most people aren't out that early driving, but isn't the point of salting/sanding at that hour to get ahead of the traffic that way when people start driving the friction with the sand generates heat, melting the ice....  Didn't slide around too much, just annoying to drive so soo sooooo slow when all the local municipality could have done a better job.
