Looking at my overall schedule between now and C4 it looks like I can contribute pretty good to the UGP. I will PM the managers and get on the ball. I'll cruise this thread over the next week and see what I can add. Is there anything pressing / or current focus right now for a "Noob"?

Kewl, thanks for the clarification. I'll join in as I have an excessive amount of fodder. For giggles, here is a link to a Mando dio I did a little over a year ago

Mando Shelf

and the Mandos I made for it:

Sarge's Mandalorians

I'll jump in and see what kind of articulated Mando I can come up with. Look forward to some WIPs soon.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Battlestar Galactica...who's watching?

Truly enjoyed the season premiere, also, but almost had a coronary. We had a mini-tornado rip throught the neighborhood 1-1/2 hours before it started and the whole neighborhood lost power. So I did my best Army Sergeant screaming. Luckily, the power company is on it in our area and we were back up to catch the replay at 11pm. My old ass barely made it to 1am but it was worth it. They did leave us hanging at the end. It is so hard to assume what happened as the show is going to be told in flashbacks also this season, so did major characters get mowed down as they implied, or what? Looking forward to next Friday.

Well, thank ya, Ruprecht for the plug. Basically my tutorial is the FFURG tutorial, but just with pictures. The main thing I have experienced over the years with air bubbles is using patience. That is the key. Some try to rush the process and get a lot of bubbles. When pouring the resin you need a slow, narrow stream. Once the resin is in I tap the mold gently during the first 60 seconds of the hardening process.

Star Wars Dioramas and Displays / Re: Sarge's Dioramas

Ruprecht, went with the evil universe Goatee.  :P

Emperor's chair is a hybrid of the original LOTR playset and sculpey. Here's a closer look.

And I was a Antho-patra in that pic.  ;D

Getting back into the customizing world and will have this thread for my dioramas, works in projects, etc. I'll kick it off with my Emperor's Throne Room I did a year ago. I updated it with new stcikers and some touch up paint. Enjoy!

More photos over at my site.

Somebody throw me a bone. Does the monthly challenge only pertain to figures we create during that particular month?

Wow! Really excellent work on the canyon. Hopefully I can get off my butt and get involved in the project now that I got some time to customize.

Ben,

Excellent work, I have really admired your stuff while lurking over the last few months. Seems like I MIGHT know where Statesboro is  ;D. Might have to track ya down sometime. I really love your Yarna and Hoover. They look fabulous! Keep up the great work!

I was a huge fan of the original series, it filled a void after Star Wars was released and enjoyed it at the time (impressionable 10 year old  :P ). My wife and I watch the new series religiously. I took it with an open mind and have been hooked. I was estatic when the web-episodes kicked off and have been following them. I like the small nods they give to the old series every now and then.

I love the documentary feel; the combat scenes are chaotic, much like real life.

Looking forward to the kick off Friday night.

Hey all,

Getting back into the swing of things over here at JD and realized I hadn't posted an intro thread so here we go.

Just retired from the US Army after 20 years and enjoying a break from life before starting college again in the spring. Look forward to harassing you all in the customs area, books, and Watto's threads.

Hey gang,

Time sure flies when you are having fun (yea, RIGHT!). Thought I would drop a line to let everyone know I am out of the custom business for a few months while I take a "military vacation" to that  wonderful place you see on the news all the time. I'll get cranking back up with updates, new ROTS dioramas, the continuation and completion of the SOTE photonovel and a photonovel I am writing during my off time set during the Jedi Purge when I get back in January 2006.

Internet is spotty over here, but I get as chance to look at the forums a lot more than reply. Don't turn this into a politcal or war thread. Keeping my head down, 3rd time over here, and keeping hope alive.

Really hadn't cranked up as much as I would have liked here at JD, more to follow when I get back.

The Sarge,

A vintage Chewie I put on a card and star cased. More sentimental value as it was the first figure I got back in 1978.

Sith Fire, one "newb" to another... those rock your socks off! The crispness of detail on these is phenomenal. Your customs far exceed anything Hasbro could give us.
