Saga Collection '06 / Re: George Lucas in Stormtrooper Disguise.

Considering how they cut corners on the actual figure itself, I would assume that he will be shipped in a white mail order box.

If he were carded, I'm sure Hasbro would make sure you knew.

I was in the "probably a white-mailer box" crowd until I saw this blurb at BBTS.com a while back:

Anyone heard anything more about how Lucastrooper will be shipped?  I just got this ugly, ugly info from a BBTS e-mail regarding the vTSC Pre-Order that they have on their site:

...and the Lucas Mail-Away should not be missed, it will also be packed in the vintage style packaging.

Ever since BBTS had that on their site and in their newsletter, I've been trying to figure out if it was an error on BBTS's part of if there was something to it...

I see Jason's point about wanting equal "value", but I also see Scott's point too.

Here are the top Goalies:
M. Kiprusoff (Cgy - G) = 56pts
M. Brodeur (NJ - G)  = 45pts
D. Hasek (Ott - G) = 43pts
M. Legace (Det - G) = 42pts
M. Turco (Dal - G) = 41pts

Now, would I give up Hasek (43pts) (when he was healthy I mean) for Pierre Marc-Bouchard (45pts), a guy who is not even on anyone's roster?  Uh... no.  To give up the best goalie in the league, I'd expect a top-flight guy in return just like Scott.  I mean, Brent had to dangle Ilya Kovalchuk (78pts) to get himself a top-flight goalie...

I guess maybe that is a sign that maybe Goalies were a bit undervalued in our league this year, but given the "goalie" hoarding problem we have, it would've been even WORSE if goalies were worth more.   :-\

$4.95 for shipping?   ::)

I mean, of course I'm going to pay it because I "need" that figure (insert lame OCD joke here), but ugh.

Still waiting for an answer on whether he is going to be white-mailer boxed OR carded/clamshelled.  That will determine if I can get by with just one of if I'll need 2...  :-\

My dad joked last night how it would be just like the Vikings to end up trading Daunte to Oakland to re-unite him with Randy and then watch them roll to a superbowl in Oakland.   :'(

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: VH1.com's I Love Toys.

I think a lot of the comedians who do these I Love shows are getting really tiresome of it...
some of it just seems repetitive...

What?  You mean that after "I LOVE THE 80s, Part 15" they might be a bit bored doing the same schtick over and over and over?  :D

I think that VH1 has driven the whole "I love the..." concept right into the ground.

"I love the 80s" was kinda cool in a way at the start, but VH1 desperately needs some new show ideas.  I don't think they will go very far with The Adventures of Flava Flav 3, I love the 80s part 16, Celebrity Fat People 4, etc etc etc.

Hmmm...

+ RW Mattias Weinhandl (from NYI via waivers)
+ D Martin Skoula (from Dallas)
+ D Shawn Belle  (from Dallas)
+ 1st Round Draft Pick (from Edmonton)

- RW Alexandre Daigle (waivers, now unassigned)
- G Dwayne Roloson (to Edmonton)
- D Willie Mitchell (to Dallas)
- 2nd Round Draft Pick (to Dallas)

Looks like we dumped a few guys who will be unrestricted free agents next year and that's it.  Also, considering we sent Roli to one of the teams ahead of us in the playoff race, I'm assuming that means we are giving up for this year.

I keep hearing lots of talk that the Wild saved their free agent money this year so they would have it to spend next year, but I don't know if I believe that just yet.   :-\

Liquid water on Saturn moon could support life

wow, some interesting stuff in there.  Granted, it's not like it's a quick trip to the moons of Saturn, but really cool whenever they find water on another planet/moon.

It's a tiny little bugger of a moon too..

I think he means "Baseball Canada" and not a Canadian Baseball team, considering that the 92/93 Blue Jays were not exactly an all-Canadian team.

And I agree with Mikey - I might actually watch these games if they weren't on in the middle of the day...

Went to a Walmart here in SoCal (Pomona to be exact) and the price was 6.63.

Price increase at some So Cal Walmart to $6.63 :(

I saw the $6.63 price myself at Wal-Mart last night too...  Like I said earlier, I think it's strange that just when Target decides to price-compete, Wal-Mart goes and raises their price?  Strange...

I wonder if Wal-Mart saw how fast they are selling the figures this year so now they are playing "supply and demand" with us?

Or maybe they know the Bounty Hunt chase figures are coming in the next wave, so up goes the price?   :-X

I wonder how much these sets will end up costing...

Think they will be the same as the rest or think they will try to squeeze a few more bucks out of you to get them?

I don't think the Snowspeeder or Cannon will fit on the standard card so it will be interesting to see how they package them.

I'd say the biggest thing he has going against him is his .274 career average, plus the corked bat will keep some of the writers from voting from him on the first pass.

Early samples or not I disagree with Jeff.

That's it, you're on my "naughty" list.  Plus, I'm going to tell on you...  :P

Uh, anyway, I expect there will be more/better info on the mail away once these figures hit in larger numbers.  I just think that this particular figure should not be considered as exactly what the "final" product may be.
