Seems like they are starting to skimp on Tiers. There should have been at least one more for The Ghost. And 2 face plates is pretty weak for this one. It’s a decent price though, and already over 25% funded, so should get done. Happy for those that wanted this guy.

Three days in and we're at 4,182.  Not great, but still lots of time.   Not meaning this as a bad omen, but the Robbie Ghost Rider car was at about 3900 (43%) backed after 3 days, so very comparable start to this one (42% backer after 3 days).

Seems like they are starting to skimp on Tiers.

I had a chance to watch the livestream (missed it the first time around) and they talk a little bit about the tiers and some lessons learned in the past 6" HasLab projects.  They did not want to announce/lock popular Avengers (like Janet/Wasp) behind an expensive HasLab paywall for folks that were already happy with the BAF Giant-Man and in case the Giant-Man did not hit those tiers.  Trying to balance things for everyone, but it does unfortunately make the tiers look lesser when compared to Sentinel/Galactus.

Just about a week in, 4609 backers.   Not a great sign that it hasn't hit 50% yet, but still trending better than the Robbie Ghost Rider car did...

Just about a week in, 4609 backers.

Two weeks in, 4936 backers.  31+ days left.

Seems to be tracking OK to get backed, but I guess we'll know in a week or so.  Week 3 was when the Ghost Rider car started sliding backwards a little bit and it became clear that project was in trouble.

Hard to predict which way this might go, but curious if they add any kind of sweetener.

Continuous forward motion is a good sign.  Above the 50% mark is a good sign.

Still not a lock to get made, but looking pretty good for the Hank Pym fans for now...

I’m starting to think this might not make it. The tiers are so lackluster that they offer little incentive at all for speculators. If they were unique figures like Galactus or the Sentinel had that would be one thing but no one is going to buy spare face plates without the figure itself. And if you have the figure you wouldn’t need the face plates.

Curious what the future holds if a second consecutive one of these fails…

Yeah, they announced that the faceplates will have interchangeable eyes I guess (https://twitter.com/HasbroPulse/status/1709307022787719319) so there are 3 sets of eyes you can mix to make 9 different expressions.  And the antennae in white or black.  That's probably really cool to all those toy photographer/instagram collectors but offer nothing to most casual buyers or resellers like you said.

We are definitely in the low spot on the backing cycle right now.  Barely over 100 in the last week.  Still not sliding backwards though.  Hard to say if it's going to make it or not.

It has been a slow roll, but I think it will probably make it. Being “lower” priced helps that too. I think Hasbro is in a tough place with tiers on these things. If they don’t do figures it’s “booooo, no figures!”, but if they do it’s “oh great Hasbro locked these figures behind a paywall, they hate collectors!”. I think the figures make it feel like a better value overall, but it would likely be higher priced then. It’s all a trade off.

One thing working in its favor is there doesn’t seem to be a lot of fan bitterness or animosity around it like there was with the GR car. People just want it or they don’t.

I hope it makes it for everyone that wants one. Still hoping to get a FantastiCar out of one of these things someday too.  ;D

Less than 7 hours to go and the campaign is still 1500+ backers short.  It’s not looking good for Giant Man!

Personally, I might have backed an MCU Giant Man.  The scene at the airport in Civil War plus the final battle in Endgame were some of my favorite moments for the character.  And I have to wonder if that might have led to a higher number of backers.

I still think this thing will fund at the last moment. A lot of the dialogue about it has moved to it being such a low production run if it gets across the finish line. Speculators could easily push it over with future flipping in mind.

Quite a ghostlike surge at the end here, fully funded and Tier 1 met! Looks like that will be about as far as it gets, but given how things were looking earlier, still very impressive. Agree it’s a lot of flippers buying in at this point. Not anything I am interested in but happy for everyone who wanted one!

Final score, 13,889 backers.

Base package plus Tier 1 (zombie face).  Just barely missed the tier 2 unlocks.  Congrats to all the Giant-Man fans out there who get an awesome piece for their collections.

I looked at this last night when there was about 4 hours remaining and they were just above 8K backers.  I almost backed one as this could end up gaining a lot of resale value with such a low run.

I backed him right at the end.  Still undecided if I really need him or not, so hopefully he shoots up in price and the decision is made for me.
