Two never before made OT Jabba henchmen.
I don’t believe it.

I will gladly take a 3rd (4th?) release of that ReeYees to get the other new guys in that set...
-
VELKEN TEZERI AND TAYM-DREN GAREN?????
OMFG!
-
Squid head was maybe my most wanted re-do, and it’s like the third most exciting thing in this set. I could cry.
-
Wow! Squid head looks fantastic! This pack really came as quite the surprise! The two human guards were never my jam, but I will be happy to add them to the lineup! What a great reveal.
-
Now do one with unmade cantina denizens!
-
Not part of my collecting focus personally but I’m so happy for you guys.
They switched things up this time with the exciting TVC reveals and lackluster 6” stuff. It was about time though!
-
This is very nice.
-
I ******* love this. Squidhead redo was one of my biggest wants for a long time.
-
This is amazing and a sign some long waited and wanted for figures like Sim Aloo still have a chance someday…I’m in the middle of redoing my displays and these will fill some nice spots on the Jabba section!
-
This set is so ******* exciting that it got Scott to post again. :)
I was stunned to see this set announced. With all of the repacks and repaints we’ve been getting and the state do the line lately, it felt l like those guys would never get made. Count me in for 2-3 sets.

Catching up on adding in the PR blurbs...

$18.25 plus tax each. That’s just over $20 per for me… ooof.
Four or five years of scant new offerings and a year or two of steady price increases have me
To the point where I don’t even care for a 4-pack this good. Congrats Hasbro, you wore me down.

Adding in some more press pics - loose and carded

This was by far one of the best TVC reveals from SWCE. Because Hasbro finally decided to go there with some of Jabba's human goons. It seemed like they had been off limits until now.
Tessek looks fantastic! And while I still hold up the POTJ Tessek as one of the best figures of that entire decade in terms of the sculpt, the figure was showing its age in the lack of articulation.
The Ree-Yees reissue was puzzling until I figured something out - Hasbro appears to be systematically re-releasing all of the Jabba's Palace figures from the Kenner era in TVC! So far we've gotten:
-Klaatu (Wooof) - reissue
-Ree-Yees - reissue
-Squid Head (Tessek) - new
-Weequay - reissue
-Nikto (Nikto Skiff Guard) - reissue
-Yak Face (Saelt Marae) - reissue
ALREADY IN TVC 2.0
-Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard Disguise)
-Bib Fortuna - 2022
-Klaatu Skiff Guard
-Gamorrean Guard - reissue from TVC 1.0
DEBATABLE
-Kenner Barada (Actually Kithaba based on the design)
That leaves the following Kenner characters from Jabba's palace:
-8-D8
-Max Rebo band trio (Max Rebo, Droopy McCool, Sy Snootles)
-Rancor Keeper
-EV-9D9
-Barada (correct design)
-Amanaman
With SDCC still to come in July, I'm wondering if Hasbro is going address these as well?

I wonder if anyone asked them if Ree-Yees is still VC137 or if this one gets a new VC #? Or if the cards were on display in the booth or not to get a look at the cardback?
The 2023 version has the 40th ROTJ logo on the card and they've updated the name pill from "Ree Yees" to "Ree-Yees" so the cardfront is definitely different from the 2019 Jabba's Palace pack-in version , but I'm wondering if he's got a new VC# or not?
-
I think I heard it cited as a correction. There was a lot of information that came out this weekend, and I think it's probably going to remain the same VC number. Hasbro didn't change the VC number for Saelt Marae, and that figure got the ROTJ40 logo.

Answering my own question - I am re-watching the panel this morning and the presentation says VC137.
2023 VC137 Ree-Yees
2023 VC286 Tessek
2023 VC287 Taym Dren-garen
2023 VC288 Velken Tezeri

As is tradition Disney late to the party… possibly by months.
-
I'm so ******* excited for Squidhead I could flip over my desk. I bought 2 of those packs...pricey, but I need that guy. And the other guys. But not Ree Yees, because I have a few of him, and I've seen Shabby Blue's site and I know what's going on there.

You really can't have enough of these types of guys.
Not that Hasbro needs any more of my money, but they could come out with different head sculpts and maybe different hands depending on the race and have piles of Mando pirates, Jabba's Goons, TBoBF speeder bike gang members for years. Lots of easy different kitbashing for background characters would be sweet.
-
Totally agree, I can put a random Gran into plenty of areas in my display. But since Ree Yees was recently released in the trophy alcove playset, they really should have gone with Nysad, who is pretty pricey on the secondary market, and a need for the palace AND the Sail Barge.

I think this makes sense with the Jabba's/Boba's Palace set on its way. Hopefully, this means we will be getting a TVC Jabba this year as well. (I missed the both the TBS & the Khetanna versions)
-
The Black Series 3.75 one is the same sculpt, but the paint is better on the Khetanna version. It's a great sculpt though. I bought a BS Jabba on eBay a while back and repainted it for my display (https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ci9DkuOsr6o/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link). I have some standalone photos, but I'm in a meeting at the moment, so I can't mess around with the photo hosting stuff.

I am still bummed Hasbro isn't selling your version of the Palace... :P

Me too! It would have saved me a ton of time! ;D
-
Just got the email that this one is shipping soon. I can’t wait to get brand new OT characters.
-
Got my shipping notice too. And the
Jabba's Boba Fett Throne Room will arrive today. Looks like I'll have more dudes to populate it!

My CC got charged last night, hoping a shipping notice follows soon...
-
Same!
Looking very forward to this one.
-
Count me in on being excited for this release! Seeing new, never before made OT characters in the Vintage Collection shouldn't be a big deal, but in actuality it is.
Of course, some in the TVC social media circles are looking at "Who's Next" from Jabba's Palace. They haven't even recycled the shipping boxes yet, but this is the collector mindset at work.

Got my shipping notice today. Looking forward to Taym and Velken finally getting added to the Barge/Skiff set-up.
-
I got that email too, and one just now saying delivery tomorrow. So that’s fast.
-
I got the shipping email a couple days ago, but it's sitting in Wisconsin with an unknown delivery date. Eventually it'll get to Massachusetts, but man am I impatient for this one!
-
Got mine yesterday. Very nice set.
-
Mine arrived today. Glad to have these in hand, and get some new ROTJ characters in the process.
What are people's general thoughts about the color of Tessek's skin? It looks a little more orange than I had expected.
-
Just got this, opening them now... getting these OT newbies is awesome. I hope they sell a ton of these and do this occasionally going forward.
Looking at Ree-Yees before opening him, I don't see any difference whatsoever between him and the last release. I guess he goes on eBay unless someone's noticed something I didn't...
-
The change on Ree-Yees is with the graphics in the name pill. There might be some very slight changes in the paint apps, too.
-
Yeah I don’t care about the card and couldn’t see anything noticeable in the paint.
-
This set is pretty excellent, and opened both my sets last night. I put the figures in their respective places with the first set (barge and skiff) and I'm going to gladly add them to my palace display today. The skiff guard actually has the same uniform as the palace guard that Luke steals the blaster from, aside from a black beard and no face covering, so it'll be an easy project to customize him, or an easy release for Hasbro.
-
It looks like this first run is now "sold out" at Hasbro Pulse. A good sign for the possibility of more of these types of sets that they sold through this one without a clearance deal.
