Neato, huh? Moore cans his line, Sideshow resurrects theirs. Go figure.

Can't wait for evil ol' Captain Peroxide himself, Spike!

Darth Rosenberg's been delayed until March, and Diamond is now handling distribution for the Buffy line. Good and bad news, I guess.

OK, I finally got my IKON exclusive Buffy and Spike today. I'd be happy, if Buffy's right arm hadn't arrived broken. :'( >:(  The leather jacket is holding it in place, so it looks OK. No problems with Spike. I wonder if they're going to take Angel and Vampire Spike off 'hold' and actually produce the damn things.

Y'all sohuld try and pick up this week's Toyfare #79. It  has the Vampire Willow exclusive offer in it.
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Morgbug on January 13, 2004, 09:48 AM
Is that a 12" as well, or the regular 6" figure?  Mmmm, vampire willow.  Rrrrowr.
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Ben on January 13, 2004, 01:32 PM
No, it's a 6", from MAC. Though at its price, you'd swear it was a 12" figure. :o
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Morgbug on January 13, 2004, 11:00 PM
Thanks, toyfare has gotten like that with all of it's exclusives.  I guess they want some of the ebay margin as well.  At 6" scale, I may get one.  Of course, we all know what that will start....
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Ben on January 15, 2004, 01:38 AM
I got the mag today, and there's an option of ordering two vamp-face Willows and getting with that a regular faced version in the same outfit--3 figures, $54. I'm thinking about springing for that one, but I have nary a clue what I'll do with the other vamp-face Willow. Trade bait, I suppose.

Hook, line, and sinker here good buddy.  I'd go for it.   ;D

Hm. I found this store called Time and Space Toys, and they have an offer for all six upcoming Willows, including the non-vamp faced Doppelgangland Willow. No price is listed, but it's expected in stock April 2004. Tough choices.
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Ben on January 18, 2004, 01:08 AM
And, i found this link for the Willow in question. I emailed the owner and asked if the Willow will be the one pictured, and not the vamp one. I'll let you know his response when I get it. Linky:
http://thetoydepot.net/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_97/products_id/534 (http://thetoydepot.net/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_97/products_id/534)

I ordered the IKON Buffy and Spike from them, and they arrived well-packed. They take a while to get here, as they're based in Florida, but no complaints here.
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Ben on January 18, 2004, 06:05 PM
OK, here's his reply:

"Hi Ben,
The "Previews Exclusive Doppelgangland Willow" will have the regular
Willow face NOT the Vamped one.
 Thanks,
Mike"

That's better than an extra vamp Willow and $18 for the regular face.

Sideshow finally gets around to a Willow doll, but instead a world class likeness of Alyson Hannigan in all her beauty and charm like the other dolls, this is a MASSIVE disappointment.  It's fine, I suppose, but what the hell were they thinking?  "Let's skip Willow and do ugly Vampire Willow!  Yeah!"   :(

DST is handing out a giveaway at Toy Fair this weekend. It's a repainted Willow with a kickin' rad Dingoes Ate My Baby t-shirt.  I guess it's being handled like Toy Fair Vader, only without availability through a fan club.

I just wanted to bump this up incase anyone was interested, but figures.com posted a new wave for later this year after Tara/Anya which will include"

-Spike in white t-shirt
-Vamped Spike in black t-shirt
-Shirtless Spike
-"Fool For Love" 70s Punk Spike (Toyfare)

Also, as far as Anya goes, confirmed figures are:

-NEW Bunny Anya
-Wedding Gown Anya
-"Once More, With Feeling" Anya
-Anyanka
-Regular Anya

I can't wait to see photos of Punk Spike!

I recieved my Willows from Time & Space toys today, well, half of them anyway.

-Transformation Willow
-Season 5 Willow
-Dopplegangland Willow

the others in the box set are supposed to come in may...

These are great figures with great paint apps!  I must say, these are among the best in the entire buffy line, and thank the maker for DST taking over MAC's shoddy job of distributing the line and getting it out on time!  Bravo for a job well done!

I got my Dark Witch Willow from Cinequest a couple days ago.  Very nice, which is good considering how much they charged me.

I got an email saying my Willows shipped today. And, my brother called and said I have a package at my parent's house, which I'm guessing is my Vamp Willow. Happy day!!

I never did order that Dark Witch Willow. I'll probably just wait for the one that comes in the boxset. I understand the only difference is the flame accessory. (it's green instead of blue.)
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow

Are there any announced plans for a Faith figure in this line?  I know there's a 12" version planned, but that scale doesn't interest me.  Additionally, I find the sculpts in this 6" line to be pretty amazing, the Willow/Hannigan figures have a great likeness.  The old Faith figure I've passed on a couple of times because I don't think it really looks at all like Eliza Dushku.

Basically, if a Faith figure is planned, I'd probably gather up a Willow or two.  BTW, please excuse my laziness, but could you outline what is in the boxed set you mention.  I recall their being multiple Willow figures and I'm presuming this set will be most or all of the Willow figures?  To my knowledge there are:

Basic Willow
Vampire Willow
White Witch Willow
Dark Witch Willow
Dopplegangland Willow

Did I miss any?

Post by: Ben on March 9, 2004, 12:28 PM
Willow's Spellbook boxed set contains some altered versions of White Witch Willow, Vampire Willow, and Dark Witch Willow-the three exclusives from this series.

The other Willow, regular, Transformation, and Dopplegangland, are showing up at comic and specialty retailers now. (Except for us poor bastards in Iowa.)

Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Morgbug on March 9, 2004, 01:42 PM
So six all together :o

I'm not sure if our comic stores are getting these yet either.  Iowa = Canada :P
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: SiteC on March 10, 2004, 12:38 AM
The box set has:

Fully Articulated "Chosen" White Witch Willow
Blood Splattered Vamped Willow
Dark Witch Willow w/Green Flame Accessory

also, Morgbug, there is a Faith Statue planned which IMHO looks alot better than the figures, even though it is based off of them.

Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Ben on March 10, 2004, 12:40 AM
Well, there's a seventh Willow, but it was exclusive to Toy Fair. Blech.

There's a comic shop here (only one, actually) that receives every DC Direct, Star Trek, and Marvel Legends figure, yet won't take a chance on Buffy. Yet, they have DC Direct figures lining the walls,  and will never sell them. (They've been sitting around since DC Direct first launched about six? years ago.)

So I order online. The only way to go.

I got a Transformation Willow at a comic book store last week, though they do enjoy a good markup.

Did everyone get a confirmation email from Cinequest when your order was shipped?  I'm still waiting on mine.
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Ben on March 11, 2004, 01:46 AM
That package wasn't my vamp Willow. It was some KISS 7" singles I ordered a month ago, which were shipped in a box about the same size as the one Willow is shipping in.

*sigh* The wait continues...

My Buffy & Angel 12" figures from Sideshow arrived today in their spectacular packaging.

They are amazing!  Absolutly amazing!  I pre ordered Spike, Faith, and Vamp Willow after seeing these in person....they look better in person than online, trust me, and the Packaging is well worth the money....even though I ripped them out...the graphics are beautiful...

Spuffy- The Core currently has a set of the Buffy 12"ers if you want to see them up close. They're $45 a crack. ::) I have nothing against a man trying to make a living, but at least try to compete.

Got my regular, Transformation, and Dopplegangland Willows today from NextGen Toys. I knew I'd want a second set, and boy, was I right. These are beautiful MOC, even to an unrepentant opener like me. ;D

Too bad the average online price for another set is $60.

Got Willow, Dopplegangland Willow and Transformation Willow, but had to go to a Suncoast in KC to do it.  I like them all a lot, and I'm glad Diamond is continuing the line.

Looks a little thin to me.

Have there been any announcements regarding a Faith figure?

Our Willow figures haven't shown locally yet, so there's still time for me to decide on this line.  Without a new Faith though, forget it.

They're called PALz. They're 2 1/2 inches tall.

I like 'em, but I wish they were closer to the Minimate style (being a little more cube-ish.)

Oh well. These are 3-D renderings, and not the actual product, so I'm waiting until I see the finished versions before deciding on this line.

Got my Willow's Spellbook today.

I think it was #2114, but I don't have it handy to check.

I will say DST needs to work on making sure hair is completely painted. I've got some red showing through White Witch Willow's hair. Totally sloppy, man.

It's a cool piece, though, and I hope this is an idea DST continues for the exclusives, since stores see it fit to charge $27 for a figure that, while it is a chase, still ships in every case.

$27 for that Tara is horrific.  They can go to you know where.  Too bad as it's the best Tara.  Sigh.  I'll stick with the two pack, assuming the Willow in there is nice and new.

I really like the way DST is headed with this line. I just wish more stores would carry them so I didn't have to order exclusives from five different sites and pay as many shipping charges.

But still, online exclusive Buffy figures are better than none at all. :D

Oh, f--k. Another con exclusive.

It's a Dark Willow, this time painted without the veins. The eyes have a flame-y thing going on with them.

I gues I could live without this one, as it isn't too different from the Dark Willow I already have.

Still want a World Tour Willow, however. >:(

I like the 2 pack Willow but she isn't different enough for me.  I thought I just want a Tara, but then the Tara I want apparently is $27, so why not get Tara and Willow for $30?  Or better yet not give those hosers who charge your card immediately any of money at all.

This reminds me. I'm thinking about ordering a case of Anya/Tara from EE. It consists of 4x Anya, 3x Tara, and 1x chase Tara. I'd be keeping 1 Anya, 1 Tara, and the chase Tara, and I was wondering if anyone else wanted any of the leftovers.

3 Anyas and 2 Taras. It works out to about $13.75 a figure, but I'd charge $12 to get rid of the extras.

Just LMK.

SP Buffy... I almost shed a tear.  I wonder if this means we'll see SP versions of other figs (as well as resculpts of Xander, Cordy, Giles et al) down the road.

I'm in for one each of Tara and Anya, bro.

Man, what's with the 900 Willow figs?  Seems like the only fig from that line I ever see.  I started collecting these when they first came out, but decided to get out of it.  Had most of the exclusives, including the red pants Willow (which fetched me $90 on ebay when I sold it!) and just unloaded them all at once.
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow

Willow's the only character DST has thus far shipped. The stuff from MAC was virtually impossible to find, at least for me. It's a strange way to do business, with this many variants in one wave, but I really don't think anyone will be asking for a Willow for a while.

And, on that crazy variant theme, a group hug shot from TNI's WW Chi-town coverage:

Can anyone think of a Spike version they aren't making? I sure as hell can't.

Well, maybe Spike as a pile of dust, from BtVS' final episode.

You know Ben, regarding that Buffy/Bride custom:

For sure they'll do variants of SP Buffy, and for sure one will be from 'Chosen', an outfit that isn't that different from the one Uma wears in KB2.  Hmm...

Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC and Sideshow
Post by: Ben on October 16, 2004, 08:10 PM
It was more a thing for DST to make good for pissed-off fans who couldn't go to Toy Fair for the Willow.

Say what you will, I say con exclusives are bad for the hobby. Up until recently, I wanted to maintain a complete collection of whatever line I collected, and these (Keldor, WT Will, She-Ra, Jorg Sacul, Mirror Scotty) really make it suck.

They only serve to drive the people who want to buy out of the hobby. I doubt there were many toy buyers swayed by WTW or the more recent Dark Willow. Why they just don't hand out samples of the actual product they'll buy is beyond me.

But, I digress. The pizza guy's here and I'm gonna watch a flick.

Cruising Toyfare I found a bunch of stuff.  Any of it hot?

Season 5 Spike and Darla (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/sep043665z-4.html)

Spike four pack of exclusives (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/excbtvsanspike4.html)

Welcome to the Hellmouth Darla (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/oct043799z.html)

Is this your Anya figure? (Anyanka) (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/oct043799z.html)

Found another...
Hell's Bells Anya (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/cqbtvshba.html)

or two

Once more with feeling Anya (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/trbtvsomwfan.html)

Also a couple of Anya and Tara sets...

set 1 (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/may043768v.html)

set 2 (http://store.yahoo.com/wizarduniverse/may043768-3.html)

It's looking like I should be pleased to not be collecting this line.

I have all the Taras and Anyas except Anyanka, OMWF Anya, and the Tara/Willow 2-pack.  I've doled out quite a bit for shipping, too. :P

Better than no Buffy figures at all.

Also, DST has stated that Angel series three will be Wesley and Lorne.

I kind of liked the Lorne they had planned, but I really liked Lorne as a character until he blew Lindsey away.

I have yet to preorder any Spikes or Darlas. I think I'll wait until littleplasticmen get them all in, which they have for the last two series.

LPM also has the regular Tara, Darby. I don't know if you're looking for that one or the chase one, though. :-\

Darlas and Spikes should hit next week, as the comic store release date is 2/2.  I haven't pre-ordered either. I may wait for them to get in stock at Tower Records.

I haven't been able to bring myself to buy the Spikes and Darlas. I want the vamp Spike from AFX, but I don't know if I want 70s punk Spike, blue shirt Spike, et al.

I think this way of doing things is getting a bit lame. I'd like to buy the variants, but not 5 variants at one time of one character. Maybe if they mixed the Spike/Darla wave and the Wesley/Lorne wave, things would be more interesting.

Or maybe I'm getting into one of those 'down' periods.

I'm forced to order them online. I've been fortunate in it that the paint jobs on the figures I've ordered have been good. I've heard many tales of dodgy paint on these, especially Darla.

I recently ordered a season 2 Darla, so I'm hoping for the best.

If you can't find a store that ships to Canada, I'd be happy to help you out. I'd try hitting tower.com first, since they have the lowest prices on the Buffy/Angel figures I've seen (save for Amazon which doesn't ship to Canada.)

Buffy figures look great.  The Faith figure looks like a piece of **** :-\  That is one butt-ugly head sculpt, super articulation or not.

These were the start off point for me, or so I thought.  I definitely could handle picking up any one of the Buffy figures, but I'm going to be looking for the older Faith figure.

At least these are a cheaper alternative to those, since they're pretty expensive.

I'll probably spring for the Buffys (Buffies?) but I've never been keen on the character of Dawn. "BufffffeeeeeEEEEEE!!!!"

Of course, I still don't have the previous two waves (now that Wes and Lorne and the SP babes are showing up) so saying I'll buy these Buffy figures is an empty promise.

I received my first SP BtVS figure today. I scored 'Graduation Day' Faith.

I still don't see how they can charge $15 or so. (I found this one on BBTS for $12.50, which is the best price I've yet seen.) This one is almost the same as the 'Bad Girls' Faith which is in the same wave. The only difference is there's a design on the GD Faith's shirt and an extra set of arms, plus accessories.

The insert in the clamshell is the same for all Buffys and Faiths. There's just a sticker of either Sarah Gellar or Eliza Dushku seperating them, and that's on the outside.

Plus I've read of a lot of breakage at the legs for these figures, so I'm almost afraid to open it.  :-\

I picked up Judgement Lorne and Season 4 Wesley at Suncoast today.

The $12.99 price for these is much easier to stomach than the $14.99 these used to be, plus they include huge accessories. Lorne has a stage and Wes has a weapons cabinet.

I still have to get most of the Spikes and Darlas, plus the rest of these two, but I'm ready for Angel and Fred now.  :) And Gunn, if they ever decide to do him.

These are SO much better than MAC's stuff. The articulation and paint is much better, plus they're easier to find.

I've already decided not to chase down the MAC stuff I lack. Eventually, DST is going to do Xander and Cordelia, and those are the only other main characters I lack. I hope they redo the Gentlemen, since those are mad expensive. And they just as well redo Drusilla, since her figure sucked hard. Golf-ball-through-a-straw hard.

BtVSFigs needs members bad. And the board badly needs people with good taste in music too.  ;)

$50 for a membership plus that big-ass playset. I'd probably go for it if I had $50 to spend on it now.

Well file this under Oops.

Faith with jacket (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5993481472&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)

and

Faith no jacket (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5993482966&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)

I didn't think I'd win both :-X  And certainly not so cheaply.  I really didn't like the new Faith head sculpt, so I wanted the old one.  I bid on one about a week ago, loose also and it ended up over $25.  Why did these go so cheap?

Damn, that's a good price on the Faith with jacket.

I bet since the SP versions are making their way around, the prices are going down. Or you got lucky.  ;)

I'm hoping it was luck.  I wasn't expecting to get both, so I bid on both ::)  Now I kinda hope I can flip one down the road with a better listing.  I just hate the new Faith figures, so opted for this one.

I'm going to wait out the situation locally to pick up a SP Buffy, since I think those are ok.  One shop has them and they've hardly moved.  I think if I wait long enough though I can pick one up for $5.

I have a bid in on a transformation Willow right now too - $3.99 starting bid is my max.

Nice. I paid $15 for mine, since it was the chase figure from that wave.

Really weird, but I won that Willow figure for $3.99.  They put up another this week and it's already sitting at $12 with 3 days to go.  Dumb luck, I guess.

My Willow arrived.  Wow, package is absolutely mint, came in the exclusive box inside another box :o  Not so thrilled with the paint on the eyes, but I'm inspired enough to pick up enough to round out the Sunnydale gang.  Have to do it on the cheap though.

Xander and Cordelia in next Buffy wave. (http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/news/default.asp)

I guess it's after the Buffy/Dawn wave, but I still like the news. Hopefully DST does another Military Xander, since that's one MAC variant that's pretty expensive nowadays.

So now they have only to redo Giles for the Scooby gang to be complete.  :)

Cool, I just hope Cordelia's head sculpt isn't as bad as the new Faith's was.  I opted for the old figure instead after seeing both close up.

I have to break down and pick up a Buffy figure yet too.  Kinda hoping to luck into some clearance stuff in November.
Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC, DST, Palisades, and Sideshow

I'm very undecided as to which SP Buffy to get. They all look pretty much the same to me, and for that reason I can't justify the $13-15 price tag on each. I have the Graduation Day Faith, and that's probably the only SP Faith I'll buy.

I learned my lesson the hard way by buying all those Taras and Anyas, which really weren't different enough, unlike the Willows, at least for the Dark Willow and Season 4 (or is it 5?) Willow. It was stupid to buy the Season 5 Anya when pretty much the same sculpt was used for Bunny Anya.

Though I'll say this, and within a few months, I'll have them all.  ::)

Free "Fool For Love" Spike figure from DST. (http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/store/)

Too bad the offer's only valid until 12/23. I would have bought the $70 worth needed, but I can't spend that much on myself this Christmas season.

Rather than start a new thread that no one will read, I'll just put this in here.

I finally scored some Serenity figures today. I bought the regualr Malcolm Reynolds and even got that chase Mercenary Jayne.
I paid a little too much for Jayne, but he isn't going any cheaper on ebay.

These didn't look as bad as the prototype images do. They clearly needed a bit more work, though.

I heard DST has no plans for any more Serenity figures, so this must be it. Which is too bad, since I'd have liked a Kaylee figure.

Hm. I wonder if she's lopsided in action figure form as well.
So I guess this means all the demons/big bads are exclusive to 2 and 3 packs. Witness D'Hoffryn and now Glory.

I wouldn't mind buying Glory, but I really don't want a Dawn figure.

I can pass on that set pretty easily.  I wonder, am I the only one that thinks the facial sculpts of the older figures are better?  I was pumped about new Faith figures but once I saw them up close I opted to buy the older version instead.  I'm ok with the new Buffy, but the rest haven't done much for me (mostly because I passed on vampire sculpts).

I'm beginning to think MAC has DST beat in the sculpting/likeness department, but DST has better availibility and more figures in their corner.

Title: Re: Buffy figures from MAC, DST, Palisades, and Sideshow
Post by: Ben on December 31, 2005, 04:09 AM
I just opened the Serenity figures I bought a couple days ago.

I have never spent more money on ******** figures in my life.
Mercenary Jayne's arms are completely immobile. Not just at the shoulders, but also at both elbows, upper arms, and wrists. His knees are pretty much fused as well. The only articulation points that work are the feet and the neck. He holds his myriad of weapons well, if you can get them in his hands. The head sculpt looks OK, better than Mal, anyway. All in all, I can't believe I spent $20 on this figure.

Mal fares a little better, but not much. Both his shoulders don't move, but at least his elbows bend and his wrists twist. The legs and head move properly as well.
His hands aren't sculpted well, at all. Only by sheer force is he holding his revolver as he stands here on my desk.
The face sculpt doesn't even resemble Mal or Nathan Fillion at all.

The paint on both of them looks OK, but I think that's what is holding all the joints frozen. I think I'll have to try the boiling water trick, but I'm afraid that might ruin the paint jobs on these figures. No faith in specialty market paint jobs here.

The overall verdict? If you're a big, big fan like me, I'd buy them, but keep 'em MOC. They're useless loose.
But if you're not a big fan, I'd suggest taking your money elsewhere.
Maybe it's a good thing DST isn't making anymore. If the rest of the crew gets made to the standards of these two, this line will be considered the worst toy line since The Matrix by N2 Toys.
There's really no excuse in this day and age of such plastic-smithing marvels that figures like this are sold. These aren't cheap by any means (average price $15 a crack) but I've seen better quality in the CORPS! crap available at WM for a dollar a piece.

I've had a stuck joint on a couple of DST Buffy figures, and I've had Lorne's head fall off on me, so I daresay DST needs to spend a little more time on quality if they're going to charge $13-15 each for their figures. I hope the upcoming DST Star Trek line doesn't suffer the same fate.

Deluxe Angel and Spike pics. (http://www.whedon.info/article.php3?id_article=13695&img=angel-season-5-angel-spike-diamond-deluxe-figures-05.jpg)

I like them, but they can keep the blood-splattered versions.

There will, of course, be variants to make things interesting:
Hawaiian Shirt Angel
Hawaiian Shirt Spike
50's Angel
"School Hard" Spike in red shirt

Summers family three pack. (http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/news/product_debut.asp)

I dunno about Joyce. It looks to me like Dawn and Joyce have the wrong bodies, since Dawn is so tall. It looks like Joyce's head on a Willow body, which isn't exactly right for Joyce's age.

And, I found this pic in a sig at BtVSFigs. I guess it's official images of Xander, Cordy, and Joyce. I'm not sure, though, so don't quote me on it.

Lots of good deals out there on older Buffy/Angel figures. Not MAC old, just Spike/Darla and Anya/Tara waves old.

I was on Wizard Universe.com and scored a "Welcome to the Hellmouth" Darla for $9 after shipping, and Cinequest.com had the vamp Spike from "Just Rewards" for $22 after (ridiculous) $8 shipping, which I paid since I can't get it anywhere else. Also, Cinequest has many fairly good 2-for-1 specials on certain figures. I just wish they had a "Hells Bells" Anya and Anyanka 2-pack instead of featuring those two with Bunny Anyas.

The wave after Giles/Faith will be Oz, Drusilla, Principal Wood, and this wave also features a build-a-figure of the Judge.

Sneak Preview (http://www.action-figure.com/events/main.php?g2_itemId=56693)

So, I guess that means I'm going to need a rocket launcher that's scaled for 6" figures what with this Judge fellow finally being made. I just hope I don't have to get all those Oz variants for parts. I'm only willing to buy one Oz from this line since I have two of the MAC Oz figures. I'll buy all the Drusillas, however, since I didn't like MAC's version and these look a little better.

Sideshow 12" line "on hold" (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/behindtheshow/?page_id=2746)

Question: Are there plans for more 12-inch figures of from the Buffy and Angel lines?

SSC: The Buffy and Angel lines are currently on hold. While there is a huge universe of characters to draw from, we do feel satisfied that all of the core characters (at least from the original Buffy cast) have been represented at this point. We'll be focusing on other properties for a while, but do hope to return to the Whedonverse in 12-inch at some point in the future.

Dang. I was hoping they'd revisit the human Spike and base him on his appearance in season 5 of 'Angel'.

I suppose I'll just have to get my hands on the vamp version and call it good.

Damn. That sucks. I was just getting into the line too. I've got the Exclusive versions of Cordy and Lorne, and I also have Vampire Spike and the second chance Angel. I do have a preorder on Giles too. What is the deal with him? Is he going to be canceled as well or do they still plan on releasing him in April?

At least it is only on hold as opposed to being cancelled. This should give me some time to start picking up some of the older ones. BTW, if anyone has a Sideshow Buffy Summers (The red coat one) for sale, I'd be interested.

I hope Giles becomes available. I have the rest of the Scoobies, and I'd like to get this one. Well, I don't have Cordy, but the one they made was from Angel anyway, so it doesn't quite count.

My LCS had a red coat Sideshow Buffy up until recently. I'll go there next week and see if it's there, or I'll ask about it. It was $45, IIRC. It might not be there anymore, so I wouldn't get your hopes up or anything. But I will check it out for you.  :)

Sideshow sent out an email stating that Giles Should be in the warehouse within 15 days and then they will start shipping him out. I'm glad that he isn't cancelled. The more I think about it the more bummed out I am about the line being on-hold. I really would have liked to have added a Gunn, Wesley, Fred, and Doyle to my Angel figures.

Did anyone go for the 'new' Lounge Lorne? I passed on it considereding it is the same exact figure only he has a blue suit. Maybe if C4 wasn't coming up I'd have picked him up, but shelling out another $45 for a figure I just bought isn't too appealing.

That's good news about Giles. I was hoping he'd make the cut, and now that I know he has, I'll try to get one.

I might spring for Lorne, since he was one of my favorite characters from the series, but like you said, there's not much point if the rest of the characters aren't going to make it. I didn't get Cordy either, so I might pass on that totally and just get Giles.

Oh yeah, I checked my local comic shop for that Buffy, and it wasn't there and the dude I talked to wasn't sure if they ebayed it or not. Sorry about the bad news.  :(

That is a fantastic likeness to David Boreanaz. I don't own any Premium formats yet, but I may just have to bite the bullet and go for this one. I'm almost caught up on my Sideshow Buffy/Angel 12" now. All I really need still is the Graduation Day Buffy, human version of Spike, and an Orgins Angel. The PF Angel would sure make an excellent centerpiece for all of my Scoobies.

I really hope the at least finish off the rest of the main characters at some point. I really want Gunn, Fred, Wesley, Doyle, Anya, and a Dawn.

Man, am I glad I never started buying those PF things. I'd be broke, living in the boxes they came in.

But that Angel looks great.

I read a review of the next Deluxe wave of 6" figures on Michael Crawford's site. Looks like our superposeable Willows are on their way. I gotta find a preorder for the White Witch variant.  :)

Hey guys, I just started looking into the Buffy Palz line.  Is there a list posted of what was released?  I didn't see one and I'd like to get the complete line.  Any help you can lend would be appreciated.  Thanks.

DST Buffy: Dead (http://btvsfigs.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=angel2&action=display&thread=1187815120)

Aw. I wanted the Judge and Principal Wood.  :'(

But, at least they got the Deluxe Willow wave out before the end. DST still had a great run, but I think what killed it was too much reliance on human/vamp characters and almost nothing for demons. Seriously, why did we not get an Adam or something? Then they missed obvious characters like Gunn and Riley.

Now I suppose I actually better get my hands on those Willows before they're all gone.

Don't know if I'll be able to resist this one... (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=71831)  :o

Well, I caved. The credit card will be charged tomorrow for Angel. Now I'll have to find a place to put him...

I've since filled out my 12" Sideshow Collection quite a bit too. I upgraded my 'City Of...' Angel to the Exclusive version and I've added a Graduation Day Buffy, SDCC Werewolf Oz, and The Master. I'm still hoping that they finish off all the series regulars at some point. With the comics out now it seems like now would be a great time to do them, but what do I know?

I've now had the Angel for a few months and I must say it may just be my favorite piece in my entire collection. The likeness is absolutely perfect. The pictures online hardly can do it justice. Just yesterday I ended up getting Angel a buddy. I won a PF Spike (non-exclusive unfortunately) on eBay for half of what it sells for on Sideshow's site. I couldn't believe it. And I witnesses something I personally had never seen before, I tied someone on my max bet. I was the very first bidder, back when it was only $0.99. Someone else also put a max bid of $120 in, and since I had the same thing but bid first I got it since I bid first. He could have bid $1 higher and he would have won. I thought February would be a cheap month... :-X

As far as the regular 12" Sideshows go I'm still looking to add a Human Spike, Drusilla, and a Darla at some point. Though to be honest I'd be happy with just the Spike. I've seen three in the last few weeks go for more than the PF I just bought. So it may be awhile on that one though... ::)

I hear you on the 12" human Spike frustration. There was one that sat at my local comic shop literally for a year. When it all of a sudden went up in price, it disappeared.

No kidding...

$400.00 Spike anyone...? (http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Sideshow-Exclusive-Buffy-Human-Spike-Marsters-NIB_W0QQitemZ220176604908QQihZ012QQcategoryZ36554QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQtrksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem)  :o   ::)

Wait! Another from the same seller for only $175.00! (http://cgi.ebay.com/Sideshow-Buffy-Human-Spike-12-Figure-Retired-Marsters_W0QQitemZ320214518399QQihZ011QQcategoryZ36554QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQtrksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem)   ::)

When did this all start? Just a few weeks ago it was rare to see them go for more than $100. Spike was about the most expensive figure, right up there with Graduation Day Buffy, but it was nothing like this. I'd love to see Sideshow offer up a second chance on this figure. It sure seems as if there would be enough demand for it.

I was hoping they'd get to an Angel Season 5 version in the Angel line, but they were more obsessed with doing different suited Lorne figures. I really don't care what clothes Spike would be wearing as long as the figure had a human face and a leather duster. It would have been a license to print money. I assume it was on deck at some point, but like everything else Buffy (besides the comics) it's going away.
