This isn't just a TIE Pilot. At least not if you've watched the Battlefront II trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kae-JjbLsgA). And given the link to the new installment of Battlefront? I think that GameStop is the perfect venue for this figure.

Am I missing something on what to do to actually pre-order it?

The online pre-orders appear to have stopped (for now?), but some folks are still getting pre-orders by putting a $5 deposit down in-store.

They are back up (http://www.gamestop.com/toys/star-wars-the-black-series-battlefront-ii-inferno-squadron-agent-figure-only-at-gamestop/147523)

Is this just a slightly different paint job of a normal TIE Pilot?
-
Hopefully they don't sell your pre-order to someone else.
-
I pre-ordered for what it's worth. Not a fan of the added service fee, but it's worth locking one in if stores only get one or two of these things.
Dave - was it easy to cancel your pre-order? I'll use this to hold it, but probably cancel if I can easily find one in stores.
Love the figure - cool piping and Imperial troops are always awesome.

No - it was not easy to cancel my pre-order for the R5-D4, but on the upside it might land you the R5-D4 you still need...
I had grabbed an R5-D4 from the local store and then went online to cancel the order. There was no way to do it online so I had to send an e-mail, which seemed to annoy the customer service team. They sent a confusing e-mail and then followed up a day later and said they couldn't cancel the order because it was already boxed and ready to ship, even though it didn't ship for another three days.
At the very least you should be able to return it to a store if you don't want it, but then you'll be out the shipping/handling fees.

It looks to have a repainted stormtrooper w/holster belt vs. the reg. belt and holster the first TIE Pilot came with.

Not surprising, but good to know. If it's not easy to cancel, I'll just keep the pre-order then and eat the $6 handling. It's worth the extra few bucks to not have to call around and stress about finding one.

I was able to preorder this in store today

Can you do that to avoid paying shipping? Would be good to know. That is not an option ordering online.
-
Yep. They seem to be treating it like any other game. You have to set up an account in order to preorder and pay the minimum $5, but they'll ship it to the store you preorder from and you pick it up when it comes in.

That's a pretty sexy looking figure, I guess I'm a sucker for repaints like this.

Preorders have begun processing for this figure. Check your bank acct for a GameStop charge hitting your account.
-
I preordered mine in store. Will I get a notification of any kind when it comes in?
-
I did too. They told me that they would call when it arrived.
I've already stopped by the store once just to check because I had heard about people placing pre-orders at stores that wound up going to other customers. And in the process I wound up pre-ordering MORE stuff: Snoke and the Guardians of Evil 4-pack.
-
I walked into a GameStop store today here and bought this. ;D
Looks like they had a case of 4. It's a cool figure, not terribly exciting but a worthy addition to the gang of pilots chilling by my big TIE.
Happy hunting!

Persistence pays off! I checked back at the store where I pre-ordered the Inferno Squadron Agent today. Didn't get a phone call. But wouldn't you know they would find a box full of them in the back?
I like the guy who runs this store. But this is the second time that I've found stuff I've pre-ordered in the store WHERE I PLACED THE ORDER and never got a call.
SMH.

So I got a call yesterday from Gamestop saying they had my preorder in, and I picked it up today. They were all being kept in cabinets behind the register, with none out on the shelves with the other collectibles (this store had no figures at all, come to think of it).
The voicemail I got from the store gave me a laugh though. It was basically "Hey we finally got your preorder in, thanks for your patience" with emphasis on finally and patience. Makes me think they've been hounded by the local scalpers.

Got my preorder in the mail this week. Haven't popped him open yet, but he looks pretty sweet.
