Title: ROTS Figure Sales (or price hikes)!
Post by: aka DaBigKahuna on April 3, 2005, 12:17 PM
For those interested to know. I went to my local Target and pursuaded the supervisor to give me a price adjustment even though I got the $1 each figure on 4/2.

I was polite and shared my point of view that the coupon and an adjustment are two separate issues.  After checking with a manager her refunded me about $25.00. So all the figures I purchased at Target came to $3.99 + tax.

I hope some of you do the same to save some $.

Wow, $3.99 for your figures is great...

Went by a Target today and grabbed a few more Battle Droids.  I'm a sucker for $5 army builders.

I did the same thing also.  I got back something like $25 dollars.  Thats like 6 free figs if you think about it.   ;D

I didn't even hit Target at all this past weekend - I used my coupon at Wal-Mart while everybody was in line at Target and scored my figures for $4.24.

Wish I would've bought all of them instead of the 15 or so that I limited myself to...after opening all of them I really want to buy them all now!

Great use of the coupon!  It is good to hear Walmart honored the Target coupon.

Today at lunch, I brought in my reciept to get a price adjustment.  Thanks to the price adjustment, my RotS basic figure costs were reduced to:

Sale Price = $5.00 each
10% discount = -$0.50 each (I opened a Target Visa Acct in order to save 10% on my purchase  ;))
Target Coupon = -$1.00 each

Final Price = $3.73 each with the tax.

Right now, I'm VERY happy that Target could help me save some major cash on the 56 basic figures I bought Saturday!  :)

I'd be happy too!

I can almost guarantee they did not make any money on those figs at that price!

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I was unaware that the first 56 figures were out already??

What I meant was that I bought 56 figures total - 1 to open, 1 to keep carded of the first 28 which was all they had at my local Target.

Sorry about the misunderstanding.   :-[

Man, that's definitely the way to do it, Jeff!  I recall a few folks over at RS discussing the potential of trying to do just that, but Jimbo charged into the thread and told them it would never work, and to get a life and not bother the poor customer service folks at Target with such absolute nonsense.

Go figure.  :P

Man, that's definitely the way to do it, Jeff!

No kidding, any time you can walk away from Target with 56 figures for $208.74?  :o

It boggled my mind that I saved $148.50 off the original $5.99 price at Target or even $103.77 off the Wal-Mart $5.24 price...  ;)

The savings will go towards the Celebration 3 Hooters activities budget.

I did the same exact thing. Sunday morning, I was wondering if they would give me a hard time about getting the additional $1 off, but I got no hassle at all. All the Customer service person had to do was scan my recipt and it was done. I had bought nearly 60 figures, so it was a nice discount.

Now I just hope #'s 33 -36 show up this week to keep the cost down.

Man, now that I see a few people made this work, I'm a little bummed I didn't make more of an effort to hit some Targets on 4/2 (aside from nabbing the Lava Vaders), to get these nice discounts.  But after having slept a total of about 8 hours over the previous 3 nights, I went home and slept 19 out of 22 hours, including almost all of 4/2.  Lazy (tired) **** I was...   :-\

I'm as amazed at the title I wrote as you possibly are at reading it.

I went to K-Mart tonight to score on the "2 for $11" deal they have.  Not much of a deal considering everyone else has figs for $4.99 this week or something, but I went anyway and I was shocked.

The only 2 figs I wanted were the 2 royal guards they had (red) on the pegs.  They had maybe 8 to 10 basic figures beyond that laying around, but probably 8 to 10 actual pegs for basic figures.  This place was packed on 4/2 also, from what I understand, and now nothing.

I'm amazed that, even at the mark-up, K-mart is still selling figures relentlessly.  That has to bode well for the popularity of the line overall, and I wonder if this is opening Hasbro's eyes that quality sculpts, articulation, and accessories are what sell this line in volume.  Perhaps this is a great omen for things to come!  I'm hoping so anyway.

Post by: SilverZ on April 7, 2005, 06:03 AM
Not a Kmart story, but I hit a lot of stores today. Many of them had people (most the standard male aged 24-35 folks) picking through figures and buying them. I even spotted kids at a couple places. What they were purchasing weren't high number figures, but random early ones.  So I suppose that's a good sign that they are moving and keeping some selling power, even after the die-hards have moved on to worrying about the saber color of Palpatine #35.

As for Kmart, my closest one had very little on Saturday, aside from Palmtalkers. They occupy no more space than they would normally allocate for Star Wars in off years, and placed them out unceremoniously. The little that they do have are the usual suspects from early Collection 1. For trying so desperately to be competitive, they've eaten **** on the launch of this line. There's been zero presence from them in the stores I've seen or at their online store. Pathetic.

I haven't been to a KMart since the 24 hr one near me closed a couple years back (JJ you may recall me leaving the ffurg chat a couple times to hit that store for quick toy runs at 3 in the morning). But at my local Walmart yesterday they had TONS of figures, something like 40 pegs at 10 figures deep and that was just the main display. The regular action figures section probably had another 100 or so figures scattered about. When I was at Target the other day, they didn't have as many figures, maybe 1/4th of that, but I've yet to see any droughts like that. Amazing, since it is Kmart were talking about...

2 for $11 isn't bad. It's better than KB at the momment. I'm also wondering if K-Mart has much to re-stock with. I would think that they were carefull not to over order this time and didn't anticipate that these would actually sell.

As you probably read, our last Kmart completely missed the ROTS release and a week later still doesn't have any rots figures. They are still trying to get rid of three bespin leias and a wookie senator.

Kmart sucks.

$5.50 is better than SWshop's price - $12.99!!!!!   ;D :o

Seriously, what's the dealio with that?!

I know you get a star case, but who wants a star case with a $5-6 figure?

ahh TRU far behind as always. there sale prices don't even match the regular price of the figures at most stores, and the prices on other items just match the price of those items elsewhere. no wonder TRU was on the verge of bankruptcy, they can't comprehend how to compete with other stores...

I didn't know if this had been posted in another forum yet (and again, the idea of "Sale Price" is relative here), but KB is having an online sale where if you buy 3 ROTS figures, you can get the fourth free.  Of course, this still comes out to what you'd pay for four figures at any other retailer, but it's still worth a look.

KB's "Sale" (http://www.kbtoys.com)

I did notice that they had Mas Amedda listed, so it's possible that they will have/have already had and sold out of the wave he's a part of at some point.

KB also has the Anakin/Dooku and Sidious/Mace Battle Arenas for 19.99 each, if anyone is interested in those.
Title: Weird Amazon.com release dates/free shipping deals...

I posted this in the "Evolutions" thread too...

Amazon.com has both the Anakin and Clone Trooper EVOLUTION sets listed as coming out on FRIDAY, April 15th.  They also have all 3 of the new Unleashed sets -- Vader, Sidious vs. Yoda, and that Sith Chick as coming out the same day.

And...all have FREE SHIPPING right now.  Actually lots of Star Wars stuff has free shipping right now...

Very weird.  Probably just an error...they'll probably change the dates this week but I've got them pre-ordered just to be safe...

Title: Cost of ROTS basic figures in your area.
Post by: Padawan on May 8, 2005, 08:27 PM
Since midnight madness I had not gone any farther than 15 minutes to hunt for Star Wars figures.  Today I went to Champaign and at Target & Wal-Mart the basic figures are $5.24.  In my area an hour south they are $5.88 at Wal-Mart and I don't have a Target around here.  The difference may seem small, but if you buy 4 figures that's a $2.56 difference and definitely adds up.  How much do they cost where you live?
Title: Re: Cost of ROTS basic figures in your area.
Post by: JayDouble on May 8, 2005, 08:30 PM
$5.24 at the Targets and Walmarts in my area.  $5.99 at TRU.  I don't even bother shopping at K-Mart or KB because they're around $6.99 or so.

TRU  - $9.99
Sears - $9.99
Zellers - $8.92
Walmart $7.84

So yeah, Canada does suck, though that Wally price is around $7.15 USD after the taxes.

Every WM and Target I've been in lately has had the figures at 5.24.  K-Mart continues to stick to their 6.99 price and I have yet to see any of their figures (which they stocked two weeks ago for the first time since a lone case of Collection 1 on April 2nd) move with the exception of the Red Royal Guard.

Back when Target was having their 5 dollar sale that first week, the WM next door marked figures down to 4.94, but as soon as they went back to 5.99 at Target, so they went to 5.24 at WM.  Strangely, when Target dropped theirs, the WM next door didn't follow suit.

Something else I noticed was that TRU.com has raised their figure prices up to 6.99 while all the store reports still have them at 5.99.  For a while there it looked like the Collection 1 figures were still 5.99 and the Collection 2 were 6.99, but several times lately, I've seen the former go up to 6.99 as well.

$5.99 at Toys R Us.

$5.24 at Target, although I'm not sure if the price cut is permanent. (was previously $5.99)

Either $5.88 or $5.24 at Wal-Mart (I don't shop there much so I don't remember).

Others are $6.99 and up.

KM is as much as $7.99 I think some places.  Outrageous.  I have found that K-Mart will, at times, pricematch.  They fight you on it toof and nail, but they will pricematch if you raise enough hell.

I swear they hate to see me show up there anymore with receipts or flyers from other stores, haha.

My parents are a bit older...  Like to take my mother on senior citizen discount day and get a little extra % off the figures too.  Don't tell mom I let that leak here though or she'll be PO'd.  :-X

My KM's actually put product out early and then sold through a lot of it.  Funny that they got a jump on everyone that way.  They are still pretty low on most figures and vehicles as well, and haven't overdone ordering it seems.  Maybe they will drop prices and be a good place to shop again sometime.

My WM's, Targets, and TRU's are the same as everyone else though...  $5.24 or $5.99 at TRU.  TRU I rarely go to since they shot themselves in the foot on 4/2 stuff, and aren't really giving me much reason to go there.

KB just flat out sucks.  Everything is outrageously priced.  No wonder that store is destined to be closed.  They earned it.

My WM's were $5.24 and now they are $5.88 - just like selling crack, they get ya hooked  cheap and then up the price.

Target was $5.99 and then they went to $5.24 to keep in line with WM, but I fear they will go back to $5.99.

I don't bother with KM and TRU these days....

We've received a few reports that figures will be going on sale at Target next week to coincide with the movie's release week.

A few things of note:

$4.99 basic figures
$14.49 electronic lightsaber
$17.99 lego starfighter & vulture droid (15% off selected lego)
$5.99 micro vehicles

Maybe it's not much of a deal ($0.25 per basic figure), but it's better than nothing!  Check your Target ads on Sunday!

I just got my Sunday paper (hooray for being unemployed!) and there was a K-Mart sales circular included.  Now, "sale" is a relative term with K-Mart, so I'm just reporting what I see here folks.

-Basic figures: $5.44
-12" Anakin/Vader $34.99
-DV Voice Changer Helmet $24.99
-Lego Anakin Starfighter or TIE Fighter $14.99
-Anakin's Starfighter (Hasbro) or Lightsaber $16.99
-20% off Star Wars board games (Monopoly is $23.99; TP DVD is $39.99; Risk and the Chess set are $19.99)
-TPM and AOTC DVDs for $12.99 each
-OT DVD $45.99
-ROTS PS2 or XBox game $49.99
-ROTS and ROTS Lego GBA games $29.99
-ROTS Lego PS2 or XBox game $39.99
-ROTS Soundtrack CD with DVD $11.99

Other "special offers" include $5.00 off instantly when you buy any 2 M&M varieties (21.3 oz) and a Super Deformed figure (ends 05/21/05) and $10 Star Wars gift card by mail when you buy all three of the following:

1.  Pepsi products (any 24 pack or two 12 packs)
2.  Any Lays brand chips 11.5 oz or larger
3.  $10 worth of Star Wars Hasbro toys or games

This offer is valid through 05/28/05, and the cards pictured are of the droids, Yoda, and Vader.

They also have this kid who looks like he's drunk wearing a beach towel (yes, you heard me right) that has a hood on it.  I don't get it either, but it's there.

Target also has an insert, so here's the deal on that.

-Once again, a rather drunken child is holding a few figures in his hands and they are listed as $4.99 each

Other things listed:

-TP DVD game $39.99
-SW Risk $18.99
-Vader Voice Changer #22.99
-Electronic lightsaber (Windu's is pictured) $14.49
-ROTS Xbox/PS2 game $49.99 each
-Lego Jedi Starfighter $17.99
-Exclusive Micro sets $5.99
-and they are once again advertising the Vader gift card

So there you go folks!

A quick update on that Target sales circular.  Apparently (and this might vary from store to store), the sale extends to every SW item they have in the toy aisle.  When I was at Target this morning (once again missing the Clone #41; thank you solitary blonde Wookiee for taunting me), they had the Battle Arenas on sale for just under 17 bucks, the 12" dolls were in that same range, and every item in the aisle had one of those Target "SALE!" stickers on the front of the peg/shelves.

So if there is something you've been holding out on at Target, now might be a good time to pick it up.

I was tempted to repurchase the entire Deluxe line today at Target after realizing they're all on sale for $8.49. Alas, I am too lazy to do that and then come back with my old reciepts. It was nice to get a couple of Clones and a Vulture Droid for the price, though.

After doing quite a bit of hunting this morning it appears Target has seriously stocked for the sale. The latest waves have been hitting relentlessly.

I love price adjustments...  :)

As others have mentioned, just about every SW toy not mentioned specifically in the Target ad is on sale for 15% off, so I brought in a stack of 4 receipts to Target last night (Wave 2 Deluxe, Figures #41-44, etc) for credit.

They didn''t include the Clone Trooper in the 15% off sale though, too bad...   :(

I noticed in the Mission Log section that JediMAC had encountered a price hike to 5.99 per figure at his local Target.  While I haven't checked my local Target yet to see if this is bicoastal, I have noticed that several of the online retailers (one in particular that shocked me) have raised the prices of basic figures as well.

Amazon/TRU.com is up to $7.99 a figure now for some reason.  I guess when you hardly have anything in stock at all, you have to charge a lot for what little you do have.   :-\

KB.com is back to their $6.99 price point on basic figures as well, but the real humor is that, possibly for the first time ever, KB's prices are lower online than TRUs are.  :)

Hasbro Toy Shop has a lot of harder to find figures listed as in stock, but when "In Stock" = "A month or more of waiting for them to ship", it really doesn't help anybody, especially Hasbro.

WM.com doesn't really have a lot on their website, and I even noticed a local SWM completely dismantling their SW aisle yesterday and moving what they could fit back into the regular action figure aisle and the rest was going in boxes to go in the back.  Smooth move!  Now that the movie is out and you could have more casual buyers than before it was released, you decide to dismantle the aisle!

I paid $5.88 each for three figures at an out-of-the-way Wal-Mart today, so it wouldn't surprise me if brick-and-mortar Wal-Marts nationwide get on the price-raising bandwagon.

I managed to get most of the figures at $5.24 or so, so that's pretty good. Of course, I'd start a carded collection right when the prices go up.  ::)

I hope not but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. I also wonder if Target will sustaine that price. They may very well take a profit hit. Here's for hoping.

So now its kinda the opposite of the thread title. Here come the hikes. Just today, when I was going over a list of past purchases, I was wondering when it was going to happen.

Those out of the way Wal-Marts have had them priced at $5.88 for at least a month. That's when I first noticed it, early May, at least here in Georgia.

The closest Wal-Marts have their prices at $5.24 still, because they have Target and TRU to compete with. I guess the $5.88 price is at stores that think they can get away with it.

Yeah, looks like the price hike's gonna be across the board here, with most/all WM's joining the fray with their new $5.88 prices, so they can remain "competitive" with Target after their similar price hike...  :P

Okay, maybe this has to do with that magic economics text that Hasbro has in their ivory tower in Pawtucket, or maybe the suits in Bentonville and Minneapolis have the same book, but a price hike at this point doesn't make any sense whatsoever.  In fact, it should probably be the opposite.

What I mean is this: ROTS figures are released April 2nd and are priced at 5.99 at Target, 5.88 at Wal-Mart, and 5.99 at TRU (or so I'm told; I don't have one near me).  Within a week, the prices have dropped to 5.24 at WM, with most Targets in the same price range.  During that time leading up to and during the release of the movie, you'd think that the higher price would be the more logical one, since demand is higher and you have a greater chance of selling said products.

Now that the film is out, they raise the prices back to the 6 dollar range, basically cutting down on their casual sales.  Hell, even TRU.com has raised their prices (as I noted earlier in this thread) to 7.99 on figures!  Wouldn't the price logically be higher when demand is higher and once it has cooled off, then you lower the prices?

The "cup is completely ******* empty" side of my thinking is that this price hike, plus the fact that Batman Begins and Fantastic Four are coming soon, has the retailers (and WM in particular; I've never been in a WM where the SW section is treated well and not short-shifted) attempting to wash their hands of SW again now that the "hype" is over.  By raising prices, they are taking away their own sales, to be sure, but the WMs near me are just plain spiteful toward SW collectors, and one has even taken down the SW aisle completely, shoving all the figures they could fit into the "usual" 8 pegs in the action figure aisle and boxing everything else up in the back in case those eight pegs need restocking.

I honestly think that toys in general are becoming a niche market with the popularity of video games and all, and retail doesn't know how to handle them.  Action figures are a dying fad in their eyes and they only do what they "have to do" in order to keep people coming in.  Unfortunately when you have no new stock and you raise your prices in favor of the "flavor of the week" toys getting shelf space, you drive away a lot of repeat customers who would otherwise be spending a lot more money in your store.

When Hasbro's 4th quarter results show up next year, and it contains the words "sales weren't as brisk as we liked for Star Wars" this will be part of the reason why.
Title: Re: ROTS Figure Sales (or price hikes)!
Post by: Jesse James on June 7, 2005, 01:10 AM
I popped off to a WM tonight...  They were still on the $4.99 kick there, and it's out in the boonies.  Their figure selection basically screamed "hey, we're out in the boonies!" as well though, since they really only had 4/2 remnants and no sign of restocking (the tell-tale Wookiees, Neimodians, and Clone Pilots were nowhere to be seen), and plenty of empty (or near empty) pegs.

I'm curious about what's happening at busier parts of the city, so I'm gonna try a toy run a night this week to see what's shakin' at those WM's I think.

The price hike timing seems ridiculous to me as well, if anything they should be $5.24-ish or cheaper.  As of yesterday, our Wal-Mart was still at the $5.24 pricepoint, but I believe our Target is at $5.99.  And Amazon is just ridiculous.  I got excited seeing that Tarkin was available for a short time online last week, but just couldn't bring myself to pay $7.99 for that figure (plus the shipping).  I can wait and hope I find it at retail instead.  That pricepoint is just way out of whack.  Now it is sounding more and more like the price hikes will be across the board for things, not just the basic figures.  Hopefully that won't be the case though.

On a side note, our Wal-Mart actually still has the "seperate" Star Wars aisle, as well as the normal display section in the action figure aisle.  I keep hearing that stores are condensing their displays and just going back to the normal section, but I honestly don't see where they are going to put all of this stuff.  Lots of Force Battlers (no Vaders), lots of Galactic Heroes (just restocked with the newer wave yesterday), and restocked Unleashed (first 3), as well as all the basic figure stuff, Attacktix, puzzles, games, the Trilogy DVDs (which they recently stuck there for some reason as well), and all the other misc. junk that has been put out for the release.  It doesn't seem like the bigger section is going anywhere anytime soon, although the basic figure pegs have been slightly reduced in that area it seems.  Nothing "new" really, at least past the #42-44 figures.

Well, as I said in my previous post, at one of the local WMs here, they just took whatever they couldn't cram into the regular action figure aisle and boxed it back up, taking it into the storeroom until the stuff they crammed into the AF aisle sold.  It's kind of sad looking too, as there are seriously only 8 pegs for SW and they just shoved whatever would fit on there and dumped anything in a box onto the shelves below.  It's interesting to note that this is the same SWM that was supposed to do the Midnight Madness thing and didn't even have an aisle set up in preparation and actually had to go back and bring stuff out to keep the 30 or so people there from complaining.

Another area of concern is that an early WM plan-o-gram book (similar to the one that Target employees got) said that the SW aisle was to last until early August at least in the "feature aisle."  I still don't know if this is a nationwide movie on WMs part to dismantle the aisle (the 2 other local WMs still have their SW aisles up, although they've been heavily picked over and not restocked) or if it's just this one WM (which has not had the strongest track record with SW at all), but it's still a little disconcerting.

But yeah, Ben, I can definitely see it now.  "Sales of products from 'Star Wars: Episode III' were much lower than expected and actually resulted in a loss at Hasbro.  'We just don't understand why the 'Force Battlers' line, with tons of cool kid-friendly action features, and the Attacktix line didn't sell.  With no more movies on the horizon, it may be time for us to overhaul our strategy on Star Wars merchandising in general to avoid further losses.'"   ::)

I believe that fully.  I used to work at Pamida in college, and the prices were quite outrageous for the most part.  But, it was basically the only place in town (no Wal-Mart, Target, etc.) so it still seemed to get business.  We have Shopkos here in Nebraska as well, and I believe their figure prices are $9 as well.  I don't see how they could sell any at that price.

Much like has been posted, my local Walmart just increased the price of figures to $5.88. Here's the funny thing though. Two weeks ago, they had maybe 10 or so figures on the pegs, they had cleared out so much stuff. Then they suddenly had an influx of cases, they went from 10 to 10 dozen figures in one night. And most of it was the first wave of figures. Today, they still have the majority of those figures, and sure enough since they couldn't sell them in two weeks time at $5.24, they bumped it up too $5.88. Freakin morons!  >:(

$5.24 is a pretty good price I think.  I remember the 1995 start  Wal-Mart had them at $4.76, heh.

then they went up to like $5.25. Most bitter I was about that. I think that's what spurred them to start with the stupid slides and comtech junk.  I like the idea of having a free battle droid with each figure!

We've seen the hikes here as well now, $5.88 at Wal-Mart, $5.99 at Target.  Although still better than the $7-$8 days of Episode I, for some reason the hike up to $6 does bother me.  I guess $5 just felt much better for a Star Wars figure.  Especially when you see Marvel Legends, Fantastic Four movie, Batman movie, GI Joe, etc. for around the same price (and larger figures) or cheaper.  Oh well, like I said, still better than 7 or 8, but $5 was just fine with me ;).

What's bizarre is that all of our local Targets just revised their prices on the ROTS figures this past week, and are now a consistent $5.89 across the board.  Bizarre, since they were fairly evenly split between $5.24 and $5.99 just a week ago.  The WMs around here are still bouncing around between $5.24 and $5.88 too.  Wish these stores could just settle on a freaking price already!

And where the hell are the Target clearance sales?!  They're a bit overdue to run a markdown, and that's what they're going to have to do to rid themselves of the 10 million Nemoidian Guards warming their pegs right now.  Unless Hasbro's just going to take them all back and repaint them for that Final 12 version of the figure.  Hopefully that's the case, and that they're not actually going to put out even more of these guys...

I got the Sidious/Mace one at the same WM as Ben, and it's good for people interested in scene-specific dioramas (plus, it's $3).  I got a Saga Pilot Obi Wan cloak on Mace, and posed him exactly as he was when he was about to bring the hammer down on Palpy (only to have Anakin jack him) and the Palpatine is good for the moment where he leaps from his seat and lands in a crouch in front of the four jedi.  Plus his head comes off pretty easy, and you can stick the 'normal' one from the basic Palpy on there.

Mostly pegwarmer city around here (Neimoidian warriors, red Palpatine, gray Palpatine, clone pilots, etc.), but frankly I still need several of those "older" figures so this is a good time to try to catch up--particularly if other Targets get on board.

The thing that's been making me scratch my head lately is the seemingly random markdowns at Wal-Mart.  While on a trip the other day, I stopped at a WM about 40 minutes from home and they had figures marked at 5.88 still, with a little "As Advertised" sticker on the front of the pegs.  I was confused since I thought it was 4.77 in the ad, but sure enough, they had a clipping of the exact ad I saw (4.77) but with a 5.88 price listed.   ???

Target finally marked their figures down here to 4.89 to compete with Wal-Mart, but K-Mart's still stuck at 6.99 and they ain't moving.  The last time I was in the "local" TRU, they still had pegs upon pegs of Bail Organa and Mon Mothma, so I'd say they are still in the same boat.

I fully expect figure prices to be back up to and possibly over 6 bucks by the time TSC 2006 is released.

Just an FYI that Amazon is currently offering free shipping on a bunch of stuff if anyone has the cash and is looking to save gas hunting some of this stuff down:

Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter - Blue/Utapau version (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009J8PZE/jedidefend-20)

If anybody takes advantage of this, do post if the sticker sheet inside was correct or if it is still the incorrect Anakin sticker sheet.  And yes, I am still harping on that.

My Target has had them at $4.79 for a while and dropped them to $4.31 in the last day or two. I got 5 figs for that sale price today. I've bought a bunch in the last couple weeks, and I'm going to take my receipts in for the difference next time I go. It'll add up.

At the Targets around here, everything appears to be included in the 10% off sale mentioned in the ad, EXCEPT for the exclusives - Mustafar figures and Battle Packs.

I bought in my receipts today and got a nice price adjustment on the 15 basic figures I've purchased over the last 2 weeks!   ;D

I just got the final 5 figures at TArget for $4.31 a piece. How sweet is that?! I got six figures for 28 bucks.

How long is the Target sale? I've gotta get my receipts in there before it's over.

Bah, I found it. My weekly ad says Oct 22.

As of today Walmarts in Utah are not offering the deluxe on sale. They are still $9.99.

Is Wal-Mart (brick and mortar) back up to $5.88?

The only reason I ask is because WM.com has their price up as well...

Nice info JayDouble, thanks for the heads up on that.  Something to look forward to I guess...  The $8 sabers is a good deal for stocking up for the kids.  I may get them those for X-Mas.

The BOGO at KM isn't bad either given that they've had some fairly decent figures around but at shittacular prices.  Good to know where to go that day.  Fortunately KM's are close enough that a Black Friday trip isn't a rough one for me...  Wal-Mart not so much.   :-\

Is "Black Friday" a good day to find figures?  ???  All the moms and grandmas are freaking out and buying stupid stuff so I hate to associate but if there are good SW pickins to be had I might tought it out...  Even if it's just for the sales on some army builders.

For me, going out on Friday morning is NOT worth it. You may find figures if your at Target or Walmart at opening, but you need to realize that most people are off that day so your competition goes way up also. I've never seen a sale on Star Wars because they don't need one to get the product to move right now as the figures are priced low. Again, I like the comfort of my bed at 4:00am on that Friday, not standing in some cold line . . . .

I usually go out on Black Friday to buy electronics but never Star Wars.  Although 4 years ago I got the TRU exclusive 12" Dewback w/sandtrooper for 19.99 (it retailed for 79.99), they also had $2 figures I think that same year.  But other than that, I've never gotten any SW stuff on black friday.  This year I'm going for a plasma TV but no figs.  The Lego Falcon for 50 is not bad, I paid that for the original one on clearance at Target.

I'm nervously anticipating a major ROTS clearance at Target... I think they will be first major retailer to clearance the stuff.  One Target in my area has barely nothing but AT-RT Drivers and #41 Clones - about 30 of each.  And a few Vaders and pilot Obi Wans.  Hoping to walk in there one day and BAM! $2.48 figures...

Me, too.   :)  My Target still has plenty of Obi Pilot, AT RT Driver, Neimodian(s), Polis Massan, Mas Amedda, Mon Mothma, Bail, #14 Palpatine, #35 Palpatine... I plan on cleaning house.

I kind of expecting Target to be one of the first to do big clearances as well.  They are usually pretty good about clearing things out, and you can often find some nice deals there...on action figures or other things as well.  I noticed at our Target the other day, that the basic figure area for SW has been trimmed down quite a bit, just tucked in at the end of the aisle.  The overall SW section is still nearly half of an aisle, but its filled with Collectors Cases, Micro, Force Battlers, Jedi Force, Galactic Heroes, Exclusive figures, Deluxe Figures, cups, lightsabers/role play, etc.  The actual figure area has decreased significantly, and I went in thinking about picking up a Vader/Chewie/Clonetrooper for our nephews if they had them, the mass of them has since sold out.  Nothing but Polis, Mas, and Neimodians if I remember correctly.  Hope to check again today.

My Target stores are really becoming devoid of figures all together so a sale isn't all that great for me right now.  Even Neimoidians are drying up to an extent at some stores, for some reason.  I would like another TIE Fighter if it was cheap and maybe some Stass's with bikes for the bikes...  That's about it from Target though.

True.  Three of the five Targets within 10 miles of me have 6 or less figures and have had the same ones for almost a month.  The other two recently restocked with the newest wave.

I fear the other Targets are getting ready for the new collection and when xmas arrives there will be tons of the Crapkon pit wave.

Targets for me will be a bonanza if the clearances start soon. Dozens of types figures are available. There's this glut of clones too. I would never have imagined it. I can see some being sold in the next couple of weeks, but it would be nice to get some good prices on these and other figures I've passed on.
