Awesome.  And so cool that it's coming to Target where every store ends up with an extra case of their exclusives!

I snagged an extra 6" Phasma at Target today for $2.96.  No idea what I will do with her, but I don't think there's any 6" figure I can pass up for $3.

Say what?  Vintage Yakface is on the way!

If this Sail Barge happens, I think we'll see several tie-in figures happen, so this makes sense to me.

Yeah, that's a nice little taste of icing on the Sail Barge cake.  Awesome.

Hooray!  That was a quick turnaround.  How does the troop builder work?  Do you pledge more money now and then apply that to the troop builders somehow?  Or does the $50k need to be in non-troop builder pledges, then at that point they open it up for people to buy them?  Or do you just pledge more money in general and assign it once the milestone hits?  So confused.

Jeff (or anyone else) - any interest in going in on the troop builder 5-pack?  I'd be down for a couple of each figure, so if a few other people want to do the same, we can split the order and save a few bucks.

I really wish there was an option to pledge the $500 and then pay it off in smaller amounts. I'd be able to afford $150-200 a month for 3-4 months. $500 in one lump sum is a lot of cash for me though.

Well, that's the zero interest credit card plan that someone mentioned earlier.  There are plenty of cards out there - probably even offered by your bank - where you can get at least 6 months interest free.  So you put $500 on the card, make the minimum payment, and get everything paid off in six months without paying anything extra.  I'd only advise that if you have a definitive payoff plan and are responsible to make the payments, but it's an option for someone who needs the extra few months of funding.

Supporters are almost up to 30% as of day 3: 1469 and counting

I'm no Kickstarter expert, but I think they'll reach 5,000.  I've had the same thoughts running through my mind with the Sectaurs Kickstarter these past few weeks, but the counts keep rising every day.  The barge has been out for just 48 hours and it's already 25% funded.  I spoke with two buddies tonight and like me, they're 95% sold on this, but just want a little more time before they pledge.  While totally worth the price, $500 is enough money to second guess your purchase.  I just need some time to settle into the idea, figure out where I'm going to put it, determine how badly my wife is going to beat me, etc.  I think a lot of other people are in the same boat.  Give it a few weeks for people to rationalize it and get on board before worrying it's not going to happen.

Wow.  It has taken me a full day just to wrap my head around this thing.  If made, this will be the stuff of legends, probably only on  par with something like the GI Joe Aircraft Carrier.  The sheer size of it is still a little hard for me to envision, and I have zero idea where I would put something like that despite a fairly large space carved out for Star Wars.  But I love everything about this offering.  The details are incredible (wall hangings, fabric sails, the ithorian corpse in jail?  Wow.  The crowd-source concept is very forward thinking for a big company like Hasbro, and I don't see how they don't move on to a Death Star if this thing succeeds.  I'm going to give it a few more days to talk myself out of it, but I think I'm in.   :)

Wow, there's some good stuff in that lot that I thought we'd never see.  Black Knight?  YES!!!  I have an awesome custom of him on his winged horse, but this one looks pretty sweet, especially with the extra heads.  Great to see a Warbird in the lineup too, though that's another that I spent big bucks on for a nice custom.  The biggest surprise for me was Paladin - what an obscure character, but one of the few characters I don't have in my Avengers lineup.  I will probably grab Storm, Blue Wolverine, and Psylocke too.  Never been a big fan of the Cloak & Dagger/FF crew, but the figures look great.

Well, they do have a lot of cool comic material still to get to.  Seems like there are some ideas beyond that (Nekkid zombies, Morgan time travelling, etc.) that are taking priority for some reason.  I still don't understand why big brands like this don't have a team of a dozen or so super-fans to run ideas past and tell them when one of their ideas is super ridiculous.

If any of you guys stockpiling these don't need the drivers, please let me know.  I'd gladly buy up more of them and/or trade you something for them.  I'm looking for some extras to go in my ROTJ Shuttle landing display.

Hey, the Kickstarter for these is active!  It's $40 plus shipping for a two pack of the first two figures, which is a great price considering all that you get with these and the high quality, articulation, etc.  I signed up for two for now.

Let's make it happen!

Retail as we have known it all our lives is going away.  Every year it seems like another major retailer is biting the dust.  The only ones that seem impervious are the bargain outlets and very specialized stores.  Brands that set themselves apart from what Amazon offers.

The retailer mix always undergoes some big changes from one decade to the next.  But retail stores aren't going anywhere.  Walmart added a hundred new stores in 2017, upping their count to 4,670.  Target has over 1,800 stores and has been adding about a dozen per year for the last several years.  There's a new German brick and mortar grocer called Lidl planning to open 150 stores in the U.S.  We're definitely seeing a shift in a sales towards more online, but its hardly taking over.  I believe the US GDP was like 7.5% E-commerce in 2016 vs. 9% in 2017.
