I think them being toys and nothing more... they are all incredible looking pieces of plastic.

I have seen Hasbro just get progressively better since launching this line in '95... Granted we get the occasional "not worth their plastic" figures here and there but no one's perfect.

It's one of the longest running modern lines... (*note I said one)

The likenesses get better and better (IMHO) and if anyone that truly knows about toys... also knows that likenesses in this scale are not very easy to pull.
Though today's technology has allowed a lot more room for accuracy...

The only complaint I can see is in movie the figures lack that special-ness than in non movie. POJT was a tremendous line general... next year looks to top that...
One thing most don't take into account is in a movie (sad as it may sound) it's usually quantity over quality for Hasbro.

They are looking to crank out the most product they can and thus figures tend to suffer a little less... but even then we still get some of the best 4" scale toys out there.

GI Joe has an extensive line though I don't find the line overly impressive IMHO. Some of the smaller companies producing military make some impressive vehicles... though their figures aren't blow me over material.

I do acknowledge the articulation and accessories are pretty slick in some... though face and body wise strip them down and they are nothing to really look at...

I'm biased? Maybe some would say but I am a huge fan of toys in general. I may only own and dedicate my time and money to Star Wars (as a whole) I do very much like other toy lines in general...

Some great lines would be Simpsons, Muppets, even LOTR (though I have never even watched a minute of either movie).

At the end of the day it's plastic men and women and that's all to me... I know that Allen Hassenfeld does not have a gun to my head.

I think before some get to ever truly enjoy the line it'll be done w/... then what???

TRU here in MA got the new CW Durge & speeder and the Clone & speeder. No red Clones for me... just missed them...

TRU seems to be at least supporting the line fairly well...

Since I'm not posting much as of late....

Just a heads up of sorts to those I'm cool w/ here that are into variations...

The Arc Trooper is shipping w/ a pretty significant variation to it.

One is shipping w/ his right shoulder painted grey... the other is painted the same blue as the stripe.

Basically the stripe ends on the grey version whereas the stripe continues on the blue version. Also of note is the shoulder joint on the grey is not painted and is white, but on the blue it is painted blue like the stripe.

I do not have any pics since I well... haven't taken any yet... but if I get off my lazy *** I'll post some up.
I believe these variation exist on both the single carded version and value pack.

I have a single carded and value pack carded but both are the grey... though I have 4 loose grey and 5 loose blue that all came from value packs. So I can say it at the very least exists on the value packs in both versions...

Stories of horror already have been heard on this one, and an eBay search pulls up over 40+...

What make me laugh my *** off is GG saying "they didn't expect demand". That is a good one...  
Let's see the last four busts they have produced all sold out and command insane prices on eBay now. Nah... How could they ever see the demand?  

I had a good friend going to SDCC but haven't heard form him yet...

I don't think he'll have good news... but who knows.
I know one thing is that GG really shouldn't have done something like this. This is the kind of thing that puts the first nail in the coffin...

I have another shot in Chicago if nothing came out of SDCC... but the Windy City doesn't sound much better.
Only good thing is my odds are a little better since I'll know three people there... one being an online retailer I'm friends w/...

Who knows I may even be able to attend...

Though right now the blue Clone is not looking as favorable as I'd like for an addition in the collection.

I brought this up on a couple of forums and figured I'd throw it up here as well to get your opinions...

Does a custom figure have to have all it's articulation to be considered custom to you?

Or is a custom any figure you change in any way at all?

I go for the second...

I have done many customs (which I will soon post a bunch f pics of) that have been from simple repaints to swaps to paint/swaps... Haven't dare tried sculpting end since I couldn't imagine what'd come out of that  

Some of the customs I have done have all artic... while others have almost none.

I view customs as filler space for stuff Hasbro has not... or will not give us. Most of what I do are fillers in every sense of the word. I have done a few Endor troopers, Ewoks, Tatooine residents, Senators, Jedi, and even working on Nightclub/Coruscant patrons now...

They are mostly to flush out small scenes that I scatter throught my collection.

What's your thoughts guys...
