Yeah, it's embedded in there, but to access it you have to beat Metroid Fusion on the GBA, and then do the little GBA-to-GC link deal, and then you can play the original Metroid on the 'Cube.

I haven't done it yet, simply because I got stuck in Fusion and haven't bothered going back to it yet.

In other Nintendo-related news:

Received my first issue of Nintendo Power in years today, thanks to that stupid Zelda disc thing.

Any five-year olds here who want this thing, or should I just throw it in with my sh!tty anime coupons?

Hey, my thread died.

 :-\

Oh well.  The few months after Christmas are traditionally dead months for DVD releases, anyway.

But, that said, I made a few updates to the list, most notably:

  • The Ed Wood: Collector's Edition DVD, set for release a week from Tuesday, has again been indefinitely delayed, for no apparent reason (it was originally due to be released last August but was delayed just weeks before that)
  • Freaks & Geeks: The Complete Series has been announced for an April release (what a great, underrated, under-watched show)
  • Other big April releases including Kill Bill: Volume 1 (April 13th, just days before Volume 2 hits theatres), and Matrix Revolution (April 6th)

Yeah, good stuff.

And it's not for the GameCube, but there is a "new" Metroid game due in a couple weeks for the GBA:  "Metroid: Zero Mission".

Basically, it's a remix of the very first Metroid game, but with a bunch of extra stuff thrown in.  Should be cool, and it comes out the week of February 9th.

Glad I got that Game Boy Player for the 'Cube. . .

Capcom

Mega Man 1-6

Psst. . .

Quote
Mega Man Compilation disc, put together in celebration of Mega Man's 15th birthday. Paying tribute to Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, Capcom's Mega Man Anniversary Collection anthology set will collect Mega Man 1 through 8 in a single package in addition to two arcade titles never before released in the U.S., Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man: The Power Fighters. In addition to an updated soundtrack, fans of the blue hero will also find a cache of unlockable bonus features that include 30 minutes of anime (PlayStation 2 version), producer interviews (GameCube version) and a history of the series.

Coming in May. . .

So I got the DVD set a few days ago, and finished all the episodes, and I guess all I can say is that it's pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

The natural progression of Seinfeld, I guess, kind of like an older conglomeration of the Jerry and George characters.

Must go on.

Can't go on.

Must go on.

Take...   your...   pick.   :-*

You know, Matt, it's posts like these which make me wonder why I even bother posting here at all.

I mean, sh!t, if you're going to show me up and expose me for the moron that I am, fine.

But to link to a bunch of Divinyls albums without even posting a pic of a cover of their big record?  That's criminal.

If you are running Geffen (which last I checked you weren't) feel free to leave it off...

 :-[

Well, I have spoken with Axl and Slash on the phone, back in the day (oh, and Duff, too), and have an autographed CD of theirs, so, well. . .  Yeah, that doesn't mean much, I guess, just wanted to brag a little.

But. . .  there doesn't need to be no damn Guns N' Roses greatest hits CD.  Their body of work is too small to begin with.  It'd be like doing "The Best of the Divinyls" or something. . .

And as far as "Sympathy for the Devil" goes, well, if Keith Richards were mortal and dead at the time of it's release, he would have been spinning in his grave. . .

You rule, dude.

Thanks, brother.

Let me know if I can return the favor by perhaps posting something in your behalf at the www.baggysweater.com forums sometime. . .

Hey, would someone (who can still post at Rebelscum) do me a personal favor and set this guy Barada straight for me regarding the release of "Civil War"?

His quote:

Quote
Here's the story on Civil War. When they released the single for You Could Be Mine as a tie-in to T2, they used Civil War as the B-Side song. With GnR being so huge at the time, and the song being so good, radio picked it up immediately.

I know this because I have the single for YCBM, and still remember the first time I heard it.

Yes, "Civil War" was released as a b-side on the "You Could Be Mine" single in June 1991, but it was first released on the "Nobody's Child" compilation in the middle of 1990.  The "Nobody's Child" album was a compilation of a bunch of (mostly) classic rockers, to benefit Romanian orphans or something.

Here's a link to Amazon:

Link

Almost a year later, it was re-released on the "YCBM" single, which pissed me off at the time, because I thought they should have released a never-before-released song on the single instead.

Another UYI song was officially released in 1990, a full year before the albums officially came out:  "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", on the soundtrack for "Days of Thunder".

Anyway, if someone wouldn't mind clarifying that, that would be greeeaaaat.  I'd do it myself, but, well, you know. . .   :-\

And Scott (since I know you're reading anyway), how you or any other GN'R fan could list their cover of "Sympathy for the Devil" as one of their greatest is beyond me.  What an absolutely terrible, terrible cover of a classic, classic song.  Disgraceful.

Axl sucks.

I love Axl.

You're new "Thing that Sucks" will probably be Texas. ::)

Nah, I'm saving that for the second week of October.

Still haven't decided on something for this week, but I'm thinking of something along the lines of "all things Joss Whedon".

Nice rolleyes, by the way.

4453
This is the "Official Rebelscum Appreciation Thread".

No, it's not, Texas Sucks.  If it was the "Official Rebelscum Appreciation Thread", then it would be titled "Official Rebelscum Appreciation Thread".  No, this is my monthly "Anyone want a free Suncoast DVD coupon?" thread, which, as you can see, has been an incredible success since it's inception.

your new sig makes me want to plan a road trip to Oklahoma, ya dig?

You're a day too late.  See, I was the thing that sucked last week, but, seeing as it's a new week today, I've got to come up with something new.

Besides, there's nothing here in Oklahoma.  As I once explained to a drunken Irishman (redundancy) while taking a piss in a Dublin back alley on St. Patrick's Day, 1999, there ain't nothin' in Oklahoma but horses and hills.  And, like he replied, "I like horses alright, but I'm not too fond of hills."

He then offered me some cocaine, and I respectfully declined, and went back to my pub.

Hey, the thread title changed!

Again I ask, what is this, Rebelscum?   :-\

You handle the salads until you get killed.[/size]

I'm not up on my "Space Ghost lingo", but is this the same as "tossin' the salad"?  ???

So, anyway, I've been in self-imposed seclusion, and during this time, I've given some thought to the recent "goings-on" here, and I've decided that my former name (Virex Star Wars Luke Skywalker 2015) was actually too Star Wars, so I've changed it back to Plain Ol' Virex, which actually doesn't make any sense, because if it was really plain ol' Virex, then it would just read as "Virex" and not "Plain Ol' Virex", which actually isn't plain ol' anything, so it's kind of like that one dude's sig I've seen that says "This space intentionally left blank", well, if it were really left blank, then there wouldn't be a sig at all, so in a way, it's like a subtle wink to the reader, like to make them think, because life is not what it seems.

Remember that.

4455
No.  This is a Star Wars site after all.  Therefore, it's time to get with the program.  Try this one on for size:

Virex Darth Star Wars Luke Skywalker 2015 Jedi

See, that's kind of what I was thinking of, before I ultimately decided against your crappy idea.  I was gonna switch it up a bit, though, and go with:

Virex Star Darth Wars Luke Skywalker 2015 Jedi.

See, so that little difference in the placement of "Darth"--my would-be version kicks your version's ass.  Sorry, dude.

I think that might help you fit in a little better around here, and then you wouldn't get hassled so much by the likes of Henrik, jjks, and hs_506.  Just a thought...

That's the thing:  I like being stalked.

So anyway, is that Anime coupon still up for grabs?

Why yes, it is, as a matter of fact.

Just give me your address.
