Revealed on the livestream today. New line of troop builder 4-packs. First set will be:
- Imperial Stormtroopers (3 troopers plus squad leader)
Hasbro Pulse and ShopDisney exclusive. Pre-order tomorrow at 1pm ET.

What's old is new again! They've just updated the quality of the troop building figures and they aren't in white mailer boxes anymore.

I was kind of hoping we'd get to see the Jedha trooper with the backpacks, but these are cool to see.

Nice that they're doing troop builder packs, hopefully at a reasonable price, but Hasbro totally missed the boat with these. It would have been so much better if they included a couple of new troopers in here along with the standard Stormtroopers. Morter Troopers, etc.

I'm looking at this stormtrooper set as a trial balloon. If/When this sells well I could see them doing the following sets:
- Rebel Trooper pack - maybe add different sculpted heads
- Clone Trooper packs - Both Phase I and Phase II clones
- Jedha trooper pack - perhaps give us a Super Articulated Pao, Bistan and/or Melchi
- FO Trooper Pack
- Resistance fighter pack
- Ewoks
The list goes on and on.

I find the press release interesting and contradictory to what Patrick said and what the press photos show. Nowhere on the box does it mention TVC at all, and Patrick was very specific in pointing out that the box is branded as Hasbro as opposed to Kenner because they made the decision to eschew the traditional TVC design esthetic. I assumed he was trying to dissuade the mint on card crowd from collecting this set.

Yeah, I think he was trying to make clear for the TVC package collectors that these were not TVC carded/boxed.
I guess it's a "Vintage Collection" item simply because it's not a Retro Collection item and those are the only two branding options for 3.75" stuff these days...

Oh, I didn't mean to imply this wasn't the Rogue One TVC Stormtrooper mold...just that they went with modern packaging that doesn't say TVC or Kenner on it anywhere...and said they did that on purpose.
Had they done the Kenner "Special" figure packaging they probably would have doubled their sales (not that I think it will struggle to sell through in any box.)

I called customer service with Shop Disney and they were able to link my order for the Halloween droid and the troopers. So now I'm getting 4 of the Stormtrooper troop builder sets - 2 from Pulse, and 2 from Shop Disney.

How does the 2-per customer limit work? Can you buy more later after a certain period of time, or after the order is fulfilled? I can see myself buying several more of those sets, but I'm maxed out at 2x on Pulse and Disney respectively.

I ordered one, then tried to order two after that, and it wouldn't let me order a total of 3. When I reduced it down to one in the scond order, it went through.

I guess it's just what their art department does - they put 2 AIM Troopers on a box that held 1 (https://hasbropulse.com/products/marvel-legends-series-a-i-m-trooper-action-figure-hasbro-pulse-exclusive), 3 ninjas on a box that held 1 (https://hasbropulse.com/products/marvel-legends-series-hand-ninja-trooper-pack), and 10+ Hydra Troopers on a box that held 1 (https://hasbropulse.com/products/marvel-legends-series-hydra-trooper-hasbro-pulse-exclusive). :P

I haven’t checked my cc account to see if Shop Disney charged me yet. But I checked my Shop Disney account and there’s no indication of a change in the status of my order.
EDIT - Shop Disney reached out to me because the card I used got updated between the time I placed the order and now, when they're trying to fulfill it. All because the CC company wanted to issue the contact free cards. I have to wait for a callback from Shop Disney because otherwise they would have had me on hold for what they were projecting to be half an hour.

I had a fresh pending charge this week, but it dropped off if my statement, I haven’t been charged, and nothing has shipped.

It seems like some of the pending charges that have been happening might be the retailers periodically checking the credit cards that buyers used to make the purchases. I had that happen with Target when I got my new Red Card, and Shop Disney did that, too.

I think this tends to be done automatically every 30 days by retailers, at least for larger purchases and maybe all purchases.

That's what I did for the stormtroopers. I ordered two RFT packs from Pulse but figured since they're unique likenesses and Antilles is a specific guy, I don't need 4 of these sets.
I ordered 4 of them, because I'm a huge, huge whore.

Or they have been and are still sitting at Disney’s warehouse. Anyone have a tracking number showing detail on UPS?

Good to know I am not alone in this, albeit I wish you guys were better off than I. Seeing people on IG getting theirs is keeping me positive that either the UPS tracking site will have details on my number soon or they will just show up. Fingers remain crossed.

I've seen a lot more of that lately with UPS doing the long haul and the post office doing the local delivery. The tracking data is totally garbage, but the delivery date they quote is usually pretty accurate.

I'm still waiting on my Stormtrooper orders from both Hasbro Pulse and Shop Disney. The Shop Disney order looks like it's processing, but I still don't have any tracking information. Meanwhile, the new holiday droids were made available only a few days ago and I already have tracking info for those.

Stormtrooper 4-pack - email says "shipped" with tracking # on 10/26; tracking # still not working on UPS site, tracking # shows "USPS Currently Awaiting Package" on USPS site.
R5-D33R - email says "shipped" with tracking # on 11/2; tracking # works on UPS site (est delivery 11/10); tracking # works on USPS site as well.
So weird. I wonder what the deal is with the Stormtrooper packs? Did somebody forget to move a pallet of orders to UPS or something? :P

Ordered 2 sets from Disney and got the shipping notice last week with a ups tracking # that didn’t exist. I bet this guy gets a refund and then they show up... no way this many of them are lost unless someone literally robbed them.

I've got half a mind to just ask for a refund at this point. I'll either get $100 back, or i'll get $100 back and get the figures anyway if this is some kind of weird glitch and they're out there...

Yeah, ShopDisney is using "UPS Mail Innovations" for these, which is like the UPS version of FedEx SmartPost where UPS delivers to USPS who then deliver it to you. They have been doing that for a while now.
Like I said earlier, just so weird. Either something happened to a whole truckload of packages or there is a software glitch. I'll give them two weeks and if I've got nothing by then (11/9), I'll start the process to look for a refund.

Since I somehow got around the limit on Pulse, I decided not to order from ShopDisney.
At least you guys will get these sort of early. I've had issued with shipping from other sites in the past and it can be frustrating, but I bet patience will pay off.

So you might be right. Maybe they loaded up a semi trailer and temporarily lost it on the lot.

My tracking numbers have also been updated and show the same Nov 10 due date. Looking forward to see these guys come in, I’ve been looking out my window far too much hoping to see them in my front stoop.

My sets just arrived from ShopDisney and delivered last mile by USPS 2 days ahead of schedule. Crazy how the shipping went but very pleased to see them in hand. Hopefully everyone else is about to get theirs.

My order from ShopDisney is finally out for delivery today. But I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that they don't put the tracking information in the order history on the app. I dug through a bunch of emails and finally found the tracking info, and it's a similar situation - UPS for the long haul, and USPS handles the home delivery.

Alright? Maybe not great. Honestly, unless it's terrible and I can tell from like 5 or 10 feet away, I never worry about it. I just put them on the shelf and think about how the collection is as complete as I know how to make it:

Let me know how your sets look. I've been seeing some disappointing reports that the paint is extremely sloppy.
The first set I opened looks ok. The black line over the eyes is a little thin on each of them but nothing too bothersome. I did notice that the torso is a shade darker than the limbs due to the different plastics used for each. But again not too bothersome especially in the right light.
I was annoyed with the choice of long rifle - they went with the POTF2 Commtech Stormtrooper rifle and this guy just cannot hold it. Oh well not the end of the world, I already gave the first two to my son to likely lose. ;D

By the time the Pulse order ships, I'll be at 24 Stormtroopers for about $180... $7.50 each is pretty awesome these days.

Wow, no kidding. I barely remember the last time a basic figure was under $10. Between the 24 total Rogue One and Remnant troopers I've bought lately I was at about $18 per figure... I would have much rather paid $7.50 per

There was a Walmart near me that inexplicably got TAC figures in every week for several months, and had them priced at $3.50. Paul lived right by it and would call me once or twice a week with what they had and snag it all for me... Stormtroopers, Yavin Guards, Galactic Marines, Airborne Troopers, Jawas, Death Star Troopers, Concept Snowtroopers and Stormtroopers... I must have bought 250 figures and close to half were Stormtroopers. I was selling the coins in lots on eBay and getting back probably close to a buck each too.

To this day I still think that TAC was my favorite line (outside of TVC/VOTC/VTSC). It was such a great period in collecting.

You have to applaud them for being responsive. I wonder if they would be equally responsive to some of the bad paint apps on a lot of figures that have been shipped? I've seen some that look really, really bad. I mean, so bad that they probably couldn't even be sold as factory seconds to Tunghori.

Hmm. My two sets from ShopDisney = 1x 12021, 1x 12041.
Out of my 8 troopers, the only one with a slightly 'splotchy' visor/eye paint (paint a bit too thick) is in the 12041 box.

Mine are 12031 and 12051. Paint looks good on all of them. The eyelenses are a little heavier than the normal (carded) trooper, but overall it looks great.

I can't read the damn things at all (looking on the figures themselves). But I opened my second box and they were thankfully all good.

It seems that the pauldrons aren't just exclusive to Sandtroopers. I'm pretty sure I saw at least one Stormtrooper with a pauldron in the spaceport in SOLO, and there was another that was a squad leader in season 2 of The Mandalorian on Tython. And there's also the upcoming Black Series release of a Stormtrooper with a pauldron (plus a backpack) as seen on Jedha in ROGUE ONE.

What Travis said. Movie-wise, I feel like they may have shown up in Solo? I'm pretty sure pauldrons on squad leaders is considered canon at this point.

They sold one in the Rogue One line but the Pauldron was removable… not sure if that’s because it was in the movie though.

I think the pauldron makes sense for an officer stormtrooper in general. It never made sense that they'd just have one just because they happened to be stationed on a desert planet. I also remember some of the old Dark Horse comics having stormies with pauldrons as a separate thing from the Sandtrooper thing. The backpacks for stormtroopers on desert planets were essentially air conditioners or something, right? Field gear? I think it makes sense for the pauldron to be separate from that.

I finally cracked open the 6 Stormtrooper sets I have...
No real paint issues. But the last two packs I opened had a lot of legs on backwards (I was able to rotate them into place), and the 3rd from last one I pulled out has his hands on the wrong arm.
4,000 figures, 26 years of collecting and I've never run into that one...
