The group project is still open to anyone that wants to participate. This one ends July 27th. Its not a contest but a way to share knowledge, show off work in progress pictures and get suggestions while a figure is being built. We have two figures in this group project. You can do either one. The other figure is a female protocol droid from the senator scene in ROTS. Check out the RS customs forum for the thread.

Tamiya rules! I use them exclusively now. I find craft store paints are too grainy to the touch. I always had to use a thin cote of elmers glue on craft store paints to remove that grainness feel.

Basically this one was made from some parts I had stashed away. I'm going to try to make some customs like you do Chewie. Nothing based on EU or references. Just stuff from the parts I have around and my imagination.

My sith lord is almost done. He just needs painting. I'm planning on making a second since there are always two.

I was thinking that for the next challenge we could make customs of ourselves. FFURG did this about five years ago and I think we need to update it.

Now what would u use to get that awesome glow of her finish?  What kinda paint for the body?  way outta my league.

The female protocol droid isn't that hard to paint. Just paint it completely silver then use glass paint over the silver. The glass paint will let the silver shine thru. Then  use the glass paint gloss/sealer to make it really shiny.

That is a cool repainted dewback. I wonder of my cats would mistake it for a real lizard?
