Well since no one is looking in the Chewie's customizer challange at my new entry there, I'll post it outside as well.

Well she is finally done. Sorry for the latestness.

Thanks guys. Sorry that she is going to be a little late. That figure is actually an old Buck Rogers figure named Ardella that I picked up at a thrift store years ago.

I originally intented her to be cased for multiple twil'lik dancers because of the nice nude arms and outfit. I can still do that after I'm done. The original figure has hair. I'm going to paint it so it's part of the headdress. Hopefully it will look ok.

I'm leaning towards gloss leather black with little white perals on the stomach and chest. Since I'm not very good at painting the face, it will be just a simple vintage look as well the rest of the figure. She will also have gold or silver bracelets and maybe something special on her tails.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Galatic Heros ARC Trooper
« on: May 31, 2005, 10:51 AM »
Thanks everybody for the kind comments. This one was a nice easy one to make. When I got my ep3 GH clone trooper and saw how he was decorated, I had to make an ARC Trooper out of my son's old clone trooper. These things could be alot of fun to customize.

Phruby made a clone! Blasphemy! Heretic!   ;)

Not Blasphemy. This is a clone wars ARC trooper not an EP3 clone.  ;) I'm just against the same four clones being made over and over again. But they are clones so I guess it make sense to make copies of them.

I think she is going to turn out pretty well also. I've painted the skin. Now what color should the clothes be? I won't be able to work on this again until wednesday night.

I'm running late on this one and decided that Lumiya will not be ready in time. I've decided to go with yet another Twi'lik dancer. This one is going to be done in the vintage style but with gi joe movement. I'll be painting the silver pins to make them blend in better. The color of the skin will be sky blue just like the jar. I think the clothes will be white but I'll take any suggestions on it.

What do you think the clothes color should be? Black could be sexy?

Oh, are these customs going to be stored somewhere forever on jedidefender as we add to them? Kind of like the group projects were stored at FFURG.

The Prequel Trilogy / Episode zero
« on: May 26, 2005, 07:32 PM »
It has been suggested that Lucas has thought about making a prequel to TPM. I've also read some posts about the plot of KOTOR 3.

They talk about how Qui-gon Jinn was infected by that dark side energy from KOTOR 1&2 and becomes Darth Plaugus. Since Plaugus has the power to create life, he created Anakin. He wanted Anakin to be a kind of force battery. He could then tap into Anakin's dark side power. Anakin was to be the first of an army of these batteries.

His apprentis, Darth Sideous killed him but Plaugus was able to use the force to come back from the grave. Yoda found him and used the force to change Plaugus back into Qui-gon Jinn by wipping his memory and had Count Dooku reteach him to be a jedi. Qui-gon, being lead by the force finds Anakin on Tatooine and insists on training him. But he has no idea why he really wants him trained except to fulfull the prophasy.

This explains a few things in ROTS. When Anakin turns to the dark side after chopping off Mace's hand, Palpatine used Anakin's dark side energy to kill Mace. Palpatine yells, "unlimited power" at this point because the dark side energy from Anakin.

Finally, since Plaugus had the power to come back from the dead, this is why Qui-gon could communicate with Yoda at the end of the movie.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Star Wars no good

I guess 160 million in four days means no one likes it. Heck, ROTS did more business in one midnight showing than most movies make their entire run.

Watto's Junk Yard / Star Wars no good
« on: May 25, 2005, 05:51 PM »
Have you ever have a person come up to you and say "I hear you like star wars. What did you think of rots?" you then answer and they respond, "I heard it wasn't very good". They then tell you all the stupid reasons why and make it sound like its your falt. You must be an idiot for liking it.

I had one like this today. She said, "well I heard it wasn't very good." I said how so? She said, "I heard the dialog wasn't very good". I said maybe so, but I don't like star wars for the dialog. That's like watching a chick-flick for the car crashes. It just aint going to happen.

Usually these people never saw any star wars movie but knows that Jar Jar sucks. She then tried to tell me that Jar Jar was suppost to be stupid in the new movie. I told her she was about six years too late on that argument because he doesn't say a word in the entire movie.

I guess this is a way to make conversation.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: MetalJedi's Customs Updated 5/24

Wow MetalJedi! I didn't know you customize. These are great. I love Katarn and Vos. That head you used for Katarn is probably the best one I've seen for the character. Its even better than the official one.

The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Post your ROTS reviews and thoughts!
« on: May 19, 2005, 11:25 PM »
I thought it was definately the best of the prequals. It still doesn't touch the originals because of the lack of fun. It's just very sad and dark. Not much humor except for R2 and the SBDs.

The effects make TPM ones look like skycaptain and world of tomorrow in comparison. TPM looked cheaply done in other words. The effects in ROTS are very coloriful and detailed. For the most part they were executed well. There were a few scenes that looked unfinished but they were minor.

The acting was decent except when Padme and Anakin did the 'I love you more' talk. That scene should have been cut. There were a few places in the film that it seemed we missed a scene or two. For example when Padme started talking about a rebelion. This was because of the talk she had with Mon Mothma that was cut. The Emporer, yoda and obiwan did great. I though Palpatine turning into Sideous was a little gross as was Anakin catching on fire. But it was ok. The frankenstin monster thing was campey.

The saddest part had to be when Anakin walked into the jedi council were the younglings were hiding. They all flocked to him asking for protection and Anakin answers by lighting his lightsaber.

I saw it the second time with my wife and five year old. My five year old was board out of his mind. He kept asking when it would be over. He'd perk up during the action scenes but just wanted to take a nap during the talking. He is a big star wars fan however and loved the space battles and lightsaber fights. The rest just didn't keep his attention. I guess he does better at 90 minute Disney/pixar movies than 2 1/2 hour ones.

I put it this way:

TESB
ANH
ROTJ
ROTS
AOTC
TPM
